Joint optimization decision of service provider selection and CODP positioning based on mass customization in a cloud logistics environment

PurposeBy introducing the mass customization service mode into the cloud logistics environment, this paper studies the joint optimization of service provider selection and customer order decoupling point (CODP) positioning based on the mass customization service mode to provide customers with more diversified and personalized service content with lower total logistics service cost.Design/methodology/approachThis paper addresses the general process of service composition optimization based on the mass customization mode in a cloud logistics service environment and constructs a joint decision model for service provider selection and CODP positioning. In the model, the two objective functions of minimum service cost and most satisfactory delivery time are considered, and the Pareto optimal solution of the model is obtained via the NSGA-II algorithm. Then, a numerical case is used to verify the superiority of the service composition scheme based on the mass customization mode over the general scheme and to verify the significant impact of the scale effect coefficient on the optimal CODP location.Findings(1) Under the cloud logistics mode, the implementation of the logistics service mode based on mass customization can not only reduce the total cost of logistics services by means of the scale effect of massive orders on the cloud platform but also make more efficient use of a large number of logistics service providers gathered on the cloud platform to provide customers with more customized and diversified service content. (2) The scale effect coefficient directly affects the total cost of logistics services and significantly affects the location of the CODP. Therefore, before implementing the mass customization logistics service mode, the most reasonable clustering of orders on the cloud logistics platform is very important for the follow-up service combination.Originality/valueThe originality of this paper includes two aspects. One is to introduce the mass customization mode in the cloud logistics service environment for the first time and summarize the operation process of implementing the mass customization mode in the cloud logistics environment. Second, in order to solve the joint decision optimization model of provider selection and CODP positioning, this paper designs a method for solving a mixed-integer nonlinear programming model using a multi-layer coding genetic algorithm.

Effects of Sustainable Development of the Logistics Industry by Cloud Operational System

This study explores the relationship between cloud platforms, logistics operations, and sustainable development across organizational boundaries. In the past research of scholars, there is a blank area in research on the correlation between cloud platform systems, logistics services, and sustainable development. Therefore, we took international logistics as an example, selected the customers of a cloud logistics platform in the Taiwan business network as the research object, conducted a sample survey on customers in their partner transactions, and used a structured questionnaire to collect primary data through the Internet, sending out 620 questionnaires with a total of 271 valid samples recovered. The recovery rate of good models was 43.7%. This study used SPSS and AMOS tools to analyze and test the research hypotheses. Through the empirical research results, it was found that: (1) the cloud platform was highly correlated with sustainable enterprise development (0.254); (2) the cloud platform was positively associated with logistics operations (0.837); and (3) the cloud platform, logistics operations, and organizational sustainability highly correlated (0.666). According to an empirical analysis, environmental protection proved to be the most important, followed by economic benefits, and social harmony benefits were slightly less correlated but also positively correlated. Our research found that the research and analysis of cloud-platform-related data are conducive to reducing operational risks and increasing opportunities for innovative service models. Using the service model operated by the cloud logistics platform, it is easier for enterprises to establish and maintain stable cooperative relations with external partners. Supply chain information transactions are transparent, and novel ideas and needs can be easily and quickly obtained, improving managers’ decision-making and business performances, significantly improving customer service satisfaction, and gradually achieving sustainable development in the three dimensions of economy, society, and environment, as well as making critical academic contributions to application and integration in environmental and social fields.

Optimization Model of Logistics Task Allocation Based on Genetic Algorithm

In order to improve the efficiency of logistics task allocation, the rationality and algorithm of the logistics cloud task scheduling model based on genetic algorithm are proposed in this paper. Firstly, the basic principle of genetic algorithm is introduced, the logistics cooperative distribution model is constructed, and the judgment mathematical model of the transfer point of the logistics distribution demand point is constructed. Genetic algorithm is used to solve the logistics distribution path planning model, and the model is simplified. The complex multiobjective optimization problem is transformed into a single-objective optimization problem through preference vector. The genetic algorithm and open-source algorithm on Python are used to simulate the model proposed in this paper. From the change curve of the objective function, after 100 generations of iteration, the value of objective function increases rapidly from 30 to 130 and slowly from generation 5 to generations 40 to 130. Subsequently, the 40th generation to 60th generation were rapidly upgraded to 160. Finally, the 60th to 100th generations are basically stable at about 170. The cost in the scheduling process decreases gradually with the increase of the number of iterations of the algorithm, from the initial unit cost of nearly 200 to 120. Then it gradually decreases to about 80. Genetic algorithm shows the ability of efficient and accurate solution in this 100-generation iteration. The genetic algorithm is used to solve the problem. The algorithm parameters are as follows: population size pop size = 300, maximum number of iterations max gen = 200, crossover probability PC = 0.8, and mutation probability PM = 0.1. Using the data in this paper and substituting it into the model established in this paper, the following distribution scheme is obtained: p the minimum distribution cost is 601.58 yuan, the distribution vehicle is 5, and the total mileage is 477.41. After using the algorithm to optimize the path, the path interleaving is greatly reduced, and the vehicles do not take the repeated route, which can greatly save the cost. After calculation, the total mileage after optimization is 74.8% lower than that before optimization, and the cost is significantly reduced by 72.8%. To sum up, the last kilometer distribution algorithm proposed in this paper can greatly reduce the cost of logistics resource scheduling, which has obvious research significance.

Application Research of Cross‐Border Logistics Based on Cloud Distribution Model

Cross‐border logistics is an important support for the rapid development of cross‐border e‐commerce. This paper expounds cross‐border e‐commerce and its development status and explores the problems existing in cross‐border e‐commerce logistics distribution, such as high cost, low level of information, e‐commerce credit evaluation system being not perfect, and professional personnel shortage. Advanced cloud distribution mode is introduced into cross‐border e‐commerce logistics, and cloud logistics distribution network model is built using the precise center‐of‐gravity method. Based on the cloud distribution, the paper puts forward some suggestions for the development of cross‐border logistics, such as optimizing the path to reduce transshipment links, optimizing the level of logistics informatization, improving the market supervision system and credit evaluation mechanism, and improving the talent training mechanism, in order to improve the stability and security of cross‐border logistics distribution, reduce logistics costs, and improve service quality.

Latest Advancement of Technologies in Supply Chain Management: An Overview

Supply chain management (SCM) involves an interconnected structure of facilities that produces elements or compounds for transforming into a semifinished compound. Owing to ever-changing customer demands, increasingly efficient and resilient SCM is necessary, which requires support from the latest technologies. Therefore, this paper presents an overview of the latest technologies in SCM and logistics. The management of a supply chain and role of the different actors involved differ from industry to industry and company to company. Consequently, SCM has become a crucial issue to manufacturers, professionals and researchers. The latest technologies identified in this paper include radio frequency identification, vehicular ad hoc networks, the Internet of things, robotics and artificial intelligence and blockchain. Moreover, the application of the aforementioned technologies in different industries and systems is discussed to understand how the technologies impact practitioners. Although not discussed thoroughly, other recent technology trends in SCM and logistics, such as machine learning, autonomous vehicles/drones, advanced analytics, cloud logistics, supergrid logistics, anticipatory logistics, omnichannel logistics and additive manufacturing (3D printing), are also highlighted in this paper. By understanding the advancements in SCM technology, the possible direction of future innovations can be effectively planned and articulated.

A case study research method was employed to analyse the service modularisation of Star Express's cloud logistic platform based on service process modularisation, service function modularisation and service object modularisation and to propose the realisation method of the modularisation service mode of the logistics service of the e-commerce platform. Further, this study conducted a risk assessment of the modularisation service quality of the cloud logistics platform, through the cloud logistics platform risk assessment model based on the OWA operator. Research findings revealed that cloud logistics service model and risk assessment analysis leads to decreasing the maintenance costs, and improves the service quality and optimise the modularisation service of the cloud logistics platform.

Knowledge management practice of medical cloud logistics industry: transportation resource semantic discovery based on ontology modelling

PurposeThe booming of the Internet of things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques contributes to knowledge adoption and management innovation for the healthcare industry. It is of great significance to transport the medical resources to required places in an efficient way. However, it is difficult to exactly discover matched transportation resources and deliver to its destination due to the heterogeneity. This paper studies the medical transportation resource discovery mechanism, leading to efficiency improvement and operational innovation.Design/methodology/approachTo solve the transportation resource semantic discovery problem under the novel cloud environment, the ontology modelling approach is used for both transportation resources and tasks information modes. Besides, medical transportation resource discovery mechanism is proposed, and resource matching rules are designed including three stages: filtering reasoning, QoS-based matching and user preferences-based rank to satisfy personalized demands of users. Furthermore, description logic rules are built to express the developed matching rules.FindingsAn organizational transportation case is taken as an example to describe the medical transportation logistics resource semantic discovery process under cloud medical service scenario. Results derived from the proposed semantic discovery mechanism could assist operators to find the most suitable resources.Research limitations/implicationsThe case study validates the effectiveness of the developed transportation resource semantic discovery mechanism, contributing to knowledge management innovation for the medical logistics industry.Originality/valueTo improve task-resource matching accuracy under cloud scenario, this study develops a transportation resource semantic discovery procedure from the viewpoint of knowledge management. The novel knowledge management practice contributes to operational management of the cloud medical logistics service by introducing ontology modelling and creative management.

Contract Design for Cloud Logistics (CL) Based on Blockchain Technology (BT)

Purpose. This paper aims to design the contract and present the profit distribution mechanism for CL platform, so as to realize the intelligent and automatic operation of the artificial intelligent- (AI-) based CL platform. Design/Methodology. A smart contract based on BT is designed for the AI-based CL platform. Profit distribution mechanism based on the Nash bargaining model for the CL platform is also put forward to coordinate different participators’ benefit relationship in CL. Findings. The AI-based CL platform and the proposed smart contract based on BT map the scenario which may be influenced by human factors and involve trust issues onto execution of codes. Practical Implications. The study will help CL practitioners in establishing effective profit mechanism and designing contracts on the platform, thus facilitating its sustainable operation. Originality/Value. The AI-based CL platform with BT smart contract can be totally free of human intervention, and hence, the problems of trust during CL platform’s operation are solved.

A Grasshopper Optimization-Based Approach for Task Assignment in Cloud Logistics

A framework for the algorithm-based CL platform is established, based on which, the operational mode of it is described in detail. An integrated logistics task assignment model is built to optimally match logistics service resources and task of large scale in the algorithm-based CL. Particularly, an improved grasshopper optimization-based bitarget optimization algorithm (GROBO) is proposed to solve the biobjective programming model for service matching in CL. The case of Linyi small commodity logistics is taken as an application. Simulation results show that the proposed GROBO provides better solutions regarding to searching efficiency and stability in solving the model.

EXPLORING CRUCIAL FACTORS FOR INTEGRATING MEDICAL CLOUD AND HEALTHCARE LOGISTICS BY DANP

This study aims to investigate and explore the critical success factors which affect the integration of medical cloud and pharmaceutical logistics operations. To achieve research objective, we firstly collected the opinions of medical management experts through the process of the Delphi method, and then affecting the integration of medical cloud and healthcare logistics operations were screened and summarized. Secondly, the questionnaire was conducted and 11 experts’ assessments of the influence between every two factors were acquired. Furthermore, this study employed DANP to calculate the weight for each factor when there exists interaction relationship among the factors and to plot causal map. Reviewing the causal map and the weights for each factor, “To induct artificial intelligence (AI) into medical treatment” and “To develop intelligent healthcare logistics” are significantly higher than other factors in terms of total influence value, net influence value and relative importance. Our findings can provide hospitals and pharmaceutical companies as a basis in formulating cloud medical development strategy.

Analysis on the Influencing Factors of the Green Supply Chain Performance of Fresh Agricultural Products under the Cloud Logistics Model

The development of green supply chain of fresh agricultural products under the cloud logistics model is the demand of the times.This paper constructs four primary evaluation indicators and 19 secondary evaluation indicators. AHP is used to analyze the factors affecting the performance of the supply chain of fresh agricultural products under the cloud logistics model. Finally, the degree of influence of each influencing factor was determined. The analysis results provide a theoretical reference for the steady development of the green supply chain of fresh agricultural products under the cloud logistics model.

This paper summarizes the development status and main problems of cargo rolling transport, and proposes the preliminary planning framework of the cargo rolling and collecting logistics network platform, including the construction requirements, system architecture and functional system design. In addition, we also propose the rolling and collecting mode and the operation mode based on the cloud logistics platform.
