CULTIVATING RELIGIOUS MODERATION VALUES THROUGH MANGAJI TUDANG AT MA’HAD ALY IN SOUTH SULAWESI

<p><em>This study attempts to examine in more depth the learning with the Mangaji Tudang system as an effort to instill the values of religious moderation in students of Ma'had 'Aly in South Sulawesi, especially at Ma'had 'Aly DDI Mangkoso. Data collection in this study used three techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that Ma'had 'Aly DDI Mangkoso focuses on the field of Fiqh and its ushul (takhassus Fiqh wa Usuluhu). Learning carried out with the Mangaji Tudang model is a specialty of Ma'had Aly in South Sulawesi, including at Ma'had 'Aly DDI Mangkoso by means of a group of students listening to the teacher (anregurutta) reading, translating, explaining, and interpreting books, then each student will pay attention to making notes and giving meaning especially to words that are difficult to understand. The model of instilling religious moderation values through Mangaji Tudang learning is carried out by conveying wise messages that soothe the people and focus on the deepening of inclusive fiqh, the balance between aqli and naqli arguments, and strengthening the concept of washatiyah Islam. This research provides. This research will greatly contribute to the model of Islamic boarding school education, especially at the higher education level of Islamic boarding schools (Ma'had 'Aly) in teaching classical books that are integrated with the instillation of religious moderation values.</em>.</p>

Ayurvedic management of Amalpitta - A Case Report

Amlapitta is one of the most prevalent diseases in today's culture. It can be found in people of diverse ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, and communities. Amlapitta is the most common illness in the modern period. Because of indulgence in incompatible food habits and activities, Amlapitta is the most common disorder in today's fast increasing culture. Materialistic lifestyles drive people to lead hectic, stressed lives with little regard for good eating habits. Hyperacidity is a condition that occurs when the stomach produces too much acid. The defining characteristics of Amlapitta are described in classical Ayurvedic books as Avipaka (indigestion), Urodaha (chest burning), Utklesha (nausea), Aruchi (anorexia), and Tikta-Amlodgara (sour and bitter belching). A 38-year-old male patient arrived at the outpatient department complaining of burning in his chest, sour eructation, anorexia, etc. Vitals are normal at the time of the examination. Based on this, the patient was treated with Kamadudha rasa, Avipattikar churana, Hingavashtak Choorna, and Sutshekar Rasa. It was advised to the patient to follow up every fifteen days. The patient was instructed to keep to dietary and lifestyle guidelines in addition to taking medication.

Integrated gut microbiome and UHPLC-MS metabolomics to reveal the prevention mechanism of pidanjiangtang granules on IGT Rats

IntroductionPidanjiangtang (PDJT) is a traditional Chinese medicine formula empirically used to treat impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) based on the "Pidan" theory from the classic ancient book Nei Jing. However, the mechanism of PDJT intervention for IGT remains to be studied. ObjectiveThis study aims to explore the mechanism of PDJT granules intervention in IGT by integrating gut microbiome and UHPLC-MS untargeted metabolomics. Materials and methodsThe IGT model was established in 6-week-old male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats by feeding them a high-fat diet and using an STZ injection. The low, medium, and high doses of PDJT were used for six weeks. metformin (Glucophage) was used as the positive control drug. The efficacy of PDJT was evaluated using fasting blood glucose (FBG), blood glucose maximum (BGmax), blood lipid, and inflammatory factor levels. Finally, 16S rDNA gut microbiome sequencing with metabolomics analysis was used to explore the pharmacological mechanism of PDJT intervention in IGT. ResultsPDJT could reverse the phenotype of IGT rats, reduce blood glucose levels, improve lipid metabolism disorder, and reduce inflammatory response. Gut microbiome analysis found that PDJT can improve gut microbiota composition and abundance of three phyla (Firmicutes, Bacteroidota, Desulfobacterota) and four genera (unclassified_f__Lachnospiraceae, Ruminococcus, Allobaculum, Desulfovibrio), which play an important role in the process of PDJT intervention on glucose metabolism and lipid metabolism in IGT rats. UHPLC-MS untargeted metabolomics showed that PDJT could regulate the levels of 258 metabolites in lipid metabolism pathways, inflammatory response pathways, fat and protein digestion, and absorption. The combined analysis of the two omics showed that improving the body's metabolism by gut microbes may be the possible mechanism of PDJT in treating IGT. Thus, this study provides a new method to integrate gut microbiome and UHPLC-MS untargeted metabolomics to evaluate the pharmacodynamics and mechanism of PDJT intervention in IGT, providing valuable ideas and insights for future research on the treatment of IGT with traditional Chinese medicine.

Reproductive health of female students in Islamic boarding school culture: A literature review

Reproductive health in Islamic boarding schools is still a special concern, because female students in Islamic boarding schools are teenagers, namely 12-19 years old. This article aims to discuss adolescent reproductive health in relation to the culture in Islamic boarding schools. One model of education in Indonesia is Islamic boarding schools which prioritises religious education and are supported by dormitories as a place to live, where they interact with their peers 24 hours a day. Islamic boarding schools prioritize a simple way of life, independence, discipline and cooperation. ,using the literature review method, This methodology involves a comprehensive database search in Scopus, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and ResearchGate. The main search terms used were ‘adolescent reproductive health’ and ‘Islamic boarding school culture'. Eight articles were obtained for analysis of topic relevance, objectives, methods used, sample size, and results in each article. We evaluated the relevance of the selected articles to the topic.. However, health problems in Islamic boarding schools still require attention, such as access to health services, healthy behavior and environmental health which can affect reproductive health. Students gain knowledge about reproductive health from classical books. Reproductive health education in Islamic boarding schools tends to be normative with culture obtained from classical books.

Answering, Fast and Slow: Strategy enhancement of visual understanding guided by causality

In his classic book Thinking, Fast and Slow (Daniel, 2017), Kahneman points out that human thinking can be categorized into two main modes of thinking: a system that displays intuition and emotion (i.e., System 1), and a system that is more planned and relies more on logic, defined as System 2. This idea explains both rational and irrational motivations. In this paper, we revisit visual comprehension tasks based on this idea. At the theoretical level, we focus on the relationship between intuitive thinking, prior knowledge, and environmental information, and build a causal graph between the three. Further, inspired by the constructed causal graph, an intuitive optimization strategy with clear interpretability is proposed. In the validation session, we provide conclusions consistent with the theoretical analyses through extensive experiments on public datasets based on a visual quizzing task. Excitingly, our scheme demonstrates strong competitiveness in terms of generalizability without adding new technologies.

Building on Nardi and O’Day’s (1999) classic book on information ecologies exploring the complexities of using multiple software applications in settings including libraries, we note that even though the technologies have changed over the decades, the importance of the work of librarians in assisting patrons has not changed much. Keeping up with popular, constantly evolving software packages like EndNote, Koha, NewGenlib, Baobab eLibrary, Openbiblio, Evergreen, Greenstone, and D-Space to support digital collections in various formats remains a constant challenge. constant challenge. Some librarians feel daunted by learning and explaining new software in a constantly changing technological ecosystem, while others embrace the challenge. As well as using software for their work, librarians have the responsibility to help their patrons learn, adapt, and apply new software to meet their information needs more effectively and efficiently. Like other client-facing professionals, librarians must also be mindful of the ‘myths’ (Ehrlich & Cash, 1994) that clients understand their problems and use online information if available. These software-related challenges have been documented in many countries (Asim et al., 2023, Adhikari, 2023), but our research identified a gap in the literature regarding the situation in Africa. The study implies the importance of education for librarians in adopting the right software and avoiding confusion. We conducted a review of LIS papers harvested from the LIS Ebscohost database about this topic in various countries of Africa between 2012 and 2022, identifying 75 papers as relevant according to our criteria. The poster presents the findings of the scoping review.

Pharmaceutical and physicochemical analysis of Mandura Bhasma

Introduction: Mandura (Slag of Iron) is a metallic oxide-cum-silicate of iron with the general formula Fe2SiO4 and is also known as Slag. In the classical text, different types of methods are explained in different classical books for the preparation of Mandura bhasma based on its utility. Objective: To prepare and analyse Mandura bhasma by employing various Bhasma pariksha mentioned in Ayurvedic science and Modern parameters along with analysis as per tools available today. Materials and methods: To standardise the standard operating procedure (SOP), Mandura Bhasma according to the method mentioned in classical Alchemy (Rasatarangini and Rasamrita). Mandura, detoxification process was followed by heating it in charcoal and dipping it in cow urine and the incineration process by levigating with juice of Aloe vera and heating system generated by cow dung cakes. Result: Bhasma became brownish, very fine, very soft and smooth and passed all classical characteristics of Ayurvedic parameters like Rekhapurnatva, Varitaratva, Sukshmatva, Shlakshnatva etc.,. All physic-chemical parameters are within the standard and presence of phytochemicals like steroids, alkaloids and tannin. X-ray diffraction analysis results revealed the crystalline size and FTIR revealed the presence of functional groups. Conclusion: The therapeutic efficacy of the Bhasma is believed to manifest only when it has successfully undergone the Bhasma Pariksha, a rigorous traditional assessment ensuring its quality and potency. This would undoubtedly aid in ensuring safety, efficacy, and batch-to-batch consistency.

This study aims to explore and analyze the process of internalizing the classics, especially Nadham Alala and Aqidatul Awwam, in the learning process at MI Al-Maarif 02 Singosari. This research is motivated by the challenges faced by the younger generation today, including moral degradation and religious identity crisis caused by the influence of globalization and modernization. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with phenomenological techniques, which allows researchers to dive deeply into students' experiences through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results showed that the classic book internalization program not only succeeded in introducing religious values to students, but also contributed significantly in shaping their noble character and morals. In addition, the study revealed that learning the Islamic classic book provides students with a better understanding of Islamic teachings, as well as increasing their enthusiasm for learning and ability to memorize. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the internalization of the Islamic classic book is a strategic step in creating a young generation that not only excels in the academic field, but also has spiritual depth and personality in accordance with the guidance of Islamic teachings. This research is expected to contribute to the development of religious education in madrasah and become a reference for other Islamic educational institutions in implementing a curriculum based on the Islamic classic books.

A Study of Library Mobile Robot Book Classification and Transportation by Integrating DA and RMM

As the complexity of modern library management tasks increases, it is difficult for traditional mobile robots to meet the task of moving and classifying books. In order to design a mobile robot that can autonomously classify and transport books, the study realizes the tasks of book classification and transportation in libraries by fusing the differential speed algorithm and the robot motion model algorithm. First, the robot operating system is utilized to scan the books, classify the books, and obtain the category information of the books. Then, the differential speed algorithm is used to control the motion of the robot to ensure that the robot can accurately transport the books to the designated location. At the same time, combined with the robot motion model algorithm, the motion trajectory of the robot is planned to ensure that the robot can avoid obstacles and stably complete the book transportation task. Finally, the deep reinforcement learning algorithm is used to train the decision-making model of the robot to improve the intelligence level of the robot. The results of simulation experiments show that the research method has the highest accuracy, with an average accuracy of 99.98%, and the robot is able to accurately categorize the books and quickly avoid obstacles with strong stability. The results of the application experiments show that the research method has the shortest moving distance, with an average moving distance of 132 m and an average completion time of 34 seconds, which are lower than the remaining three types of robots. The research robot showed high accuracy in the task of returning books in four time periods within 10 days in the library, with an average accuracy of 99.58%. The experimental results validate the superiority of the research methodology and show that the robots are capable of accurately recognizing and classifying books and can autonomously perform transportation tasks in libraries. The research results help to improve the automation level and management efficiency of libraries and have important application value.

Oncoplastic breast surgery - a pictorial classification system for surgeons and radiation oncologists (OPSURGE).

Changes to the tumour bed following oncoplastic breast surgery complicate the administration of adjuvant radiotherapy. Consensus guidelines have called for improved interdisciplinary communication to aid adjuvant boost radiotherapy. We propose a framework of tumour bed classification following oncoplastic surgery to enhance understanding and communication between the multidisciplinary breast cancer team and facilitate effective and more precise delivery of adjuvant boost radiotherapy. A classification system was devised by grouping oncoplastic procedures based on skin incision, tissue mobilization, tumour bed distortion, seroma formation and flap reconstruction. The system is supplemented by a colour-coded pictorial guide to tumour bed rearrangement with common oncoplastic procedures. A 5-tier framework was developed. Representative images were produced to describe tumour bed alterations. The proposed framework (OPSURGE) improves the identification of the primary tumour bed after initial breast-conserving surgery, which is imperative to both the surgeon in planning re-excision and the radiation oncologist in planning boost radiotherapy.

Islamic scholars, based on the Quran and Sunnah, have put forth various rational arguments for the existence of God. However, in the modern era, atheistic and agnostic groups are increasing, and their movements are extensive and structured in advocating their ideologies. Hence, there is a need to reexamine the arguments of the scholars, presenting them more explicitly with updates and additional contemporary facts, both from scientific perspectives and the testimonies of atheists or agnostics who affirm the existence of God. The results of this research indicate that the existence of God is a truth easily provable through reason and logic that is inherently certain.

A pragmatic comprehension of scientific and classical aspects of Rachana Sharir—A systematic review

Ayurveda, a flourishing traditional medical system renowned for its extensive knowledge, includes Rachana Sharir as a fundamental subject. Rachana Sharir Vigyan explores the anatomical aspects (Rachna) of the human body. The immense knowledge of the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda is not comprehensively described yet. The Samhitas and Vedas of Indian literature by different acharyas elaborate on how the human body evolved from a combination of Panchamahabhutas and Atma (Chetana). This review aims to elucidate the classical aspects of Rachana Sharir from Ayurvedic texts and establish correlations with contemporary scientific knowledge. Classical texts such as the Samhitas authored by various acharyas were systematically reviewed to gather insights into the origin, anatomical positions, numerical compositions, and classifications of human body parts, organs, tissues, and systems. The review reveals detailed principles and concepts from Ayurvedic literature, emphasizing contributions from Acharya Sushruta in the Sharir Sthana, particularly his meticulous descriptions of cadaveric studies and preservation techniques. Classical books explained the origins of human bodily parts, their anatomical placements, organs, tissues, systems, and more. These fall under human anatomy (Rachana Sharir), and this article explains its classical aspect with scientific and modern science linkages. In Sharir Sthana, one of Ayurveda’s main principles, cadaveric research and preservation, is beautifully illustrated by Acharya Sushruta. Ayurveda has scientific principles, logic, and subtle knowledge that we must explore to apply its gifts to humanity. This essay shows that Samhitas contains pragmatic and scientific knowledge. Meanwhile, the approach used is a statutory approach, a conceptual approach and a comparative approach and the legal analysis uses descriptive qualitative analysis, namely by formulating and explaining significantly several legal issues that are the object of study in this research.
