ABSTRACT We propose a family of second-order resonance-based sinusoidal oscillators with electronically tunable frequencies. Each oscillator is comprised of two amplifiers, surrounded by four impedances which must be a single R , L or C and we show that in this configuration eight resonance-based oscillators are possible. We also show the conditions for each oscillator to oscillate along with the frequency of oscillation and then design a non-autonomous chaotic oscillator based on one of these circuits. Circuit simulations using LTspice and experimental results are presented to verify the theory.
