Characterization of ZrO2 Nano Particles Prepared by Glycothermal Method and their Efficiency as Adsorbent of As(III) and As(V) from Waste Water

In this studied ZrO2 nano particles are prepared by glycothermal method. Characterization of the prepared nano particle was done using XRD, TEM and SEM. According to the obtained results, ZrO2 nano particles prepared by glycothermal method are mainly t-ZrO2 phase with tetragonal shape with an average size in the range of 30-50 nm. The formation of t-ZrO2 as the main phase of zirconium nano particles could be related to the presence of sodium hydroxide in the generation step. The removal efficiency of ZrO2 nano particles for adsorbing As(III) and As(V) from waste water is studied. The efficiency of removal is significantly increased with increasing the dose of zirconia nano particles till 0.5 g/L. This related to increasing in the active site which are available for the removal of arsenic species by increasing the dose of the nano particles. For both As(III) and As(V), the removal efficiency increased by decreasing pH value of the solution and increasing the contact time.

Synthesis of ZrO2 nanoparticle and design of HEMT devices

ABSTRACTZirconium dioxide nanoparticles were synthesized at room temperature. The Characterization of ZrO2 nanoparticles were expressed by X-ray Diffraction. Using this, the size of the nanoparticle is analysed. Structural Characterization is performed using SEM. It is found to be 41 nm to 99 nm. The ZrO2 is a high-k dielectric material which is used to design the transistor. For designing purpose the simulator TCAD is used. By which, the HEMT device is structured and its performance is analyzed and it is found to that transistor operates as normal devices. This experimental is more advantageous since nanoscaling factor and high dielectric constant is used in the device.

A Voltammetric Sensor for Simultaneous Determination of Vitamin C and Vitamin B6 in Food Samples Using ZrO2 Nanoparticle/Ionic Liquids Carbon Paste Electrode

A fast and simple voltammetric method based on the use of ZrO2 nanoparticle/ionic liquids carbon paste electrode (ZrO2/NPs/IL/CPE) is proposed for the determination of vitamin C (ascorbic acid (AA)) in the presence of vitamin B6. In the first step, we describe synthesis and characterization of ZrO2 nanoparticles (ZrO2/NPs) with different methods such as transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). In the second step, application of the synthesis nanoparticles describes for the preparation of carbon paste electrode modified with 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([Bmim]BF4) as a binder for voltammetric determination of AA and vitamin B6 in food samples. At an optimum condition (pH 7.0), the two peaks are separated ca. 0.44 and 0.82 V for AA and vitamin B6. This point shows that AA can be determined in the presence of vitamin B6 and more than 3.75 times current excess of AA. The peaks current of square wave voltammograms (SWV) of AA and vitamin B6 increased linearly with their concentration in the ranges of 0.07–850 μM AA and 0.8–550 μM vitamin B6. The detection limits for AA and vitamin B6 were 0.009 and 0.1 μM, respectively. The modified electrode has been successfully applied for the assay of AA and vitamin B6 in food samples such as tablet, urine, fruit juice, and injection in comparison with other method. The obtained data was check with F and t tests.

Synthesis and Characterization of ZrO2 Nanoparticles by an Arc Discharge Method in Water

ZrO2 nanoparticles were produced by high current electrical arc discharge of zirconium electrodes in deionized (DI) water. A mixture of nanocrystalline ZrO2 monoclinic and tetragonal phase form based on X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. Dynamic light scattering (DLS) result indicates that the size of the particles increases by increasing the arc current. Absorption spectroscopy of the samples shows a red shift on absorption edge by increasing the arc current. Band gap of the produced ZrO2 nanoparticles at 10 A arc current corresponds to 5.4 eV, which decreases to 5 eV by increasing the arc current up to 20 A.
