This article discusses the role of family communication in shaping children's character, as it is known that communication is very important in human life, especially in the family. By communicating, people will understand each other. Through communication, people can also share experiences and learn to solve various problems in life. Without communication, it is like living in isolation so that people will not be able to solve the various life problems they experience. Therefore, even though the family is a group with the strongest social ties, if communication within the family does not run smoothly and intensively, then it can certainly greatly affect various matters concerning the development and growth and progress of the family. The results of the study prove that it is true that family communication plays a significant role in improving human resources, especially in terms of children's character building.

Culture-Based Education Innovation for Children's Character Building in the Context of Educational Tourism Destinations

This research aims to explore the innovation of culture-based education as an effort to build children's character in the context of educational tourism destinations. Against the background of the multi-dimensional crisis faced by the nation, learning of culture becomes very strategic to revive patriotism and maintain cultural diversity. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through literature studies, Field observation of educational tourism destinations and how the interaction between learners and the environment takes place, and interview with policy makers and community leaders. The research findings highlighted the need for serious efforts in storing, preserving, and resurfacing scattered cultural data, especially related to oral traditions, manuscripts, customs, rites, traditional knowledge, traditional technology, arts, languages, folk games, and traditional sports. The results reflect the need to focus on strengthening governance related to local traditions, as well as efforts to empower communities through cultural tourism as a source of foreign exchange. In addition, the research highlighted the challenges of saving traditional technologies, local languages, traditional arts and folk games that are in danger of fading away. The research conclusion emphasizes the urgency of promoting culture, literature, and preserving historical traces as an integral part of children's character building efforts. Thus, understanding and love for cultural values can be passed on to the younger generation, strengthening awareness of national identity, and preventing the loss of traditional values amid globalization.

Internalization of Religious Values through Dhuha Prayer in Early Childhood

This study aims to explore the process of internalizing religious values through the implementation of Dhuha Prayer in early childhood, using a Qualitative approach and Case Study type. Data collection methods involved Participant Observation, In-Depth Interviews, and Documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles & Huberman Technique, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings show that the application of religious values through Dhuha Prayer in early childhood at RA Muslimat NU 024 Ponorogo has a significant positive impact, especially in the spiritual and social dimensions. A holistic approach involving education and parental participation in introducing the Dhuha Prayer contributes greatly to children's character building. Values such as patience, discipline, responsibility, gratitude, humility, and tawakal become an integral part of the children's spiritual development. The positive impact is also reflected in the social dimension, where children show concern and empathy for others.

PERAN LAYANAN BIMBINGAN KONSELING DALAM PENGEMBANGAN KARAKTER SISWA

Counseling guidance services are not just providing advice related to choosing majors, careers or solving behavioral problems, but are an effective forum in shaping student character. Counseling guidance becomes another way for children's character building besides parents and the environment. character development is a lifelong process, which aims to form individuals who have noble values, morals, and ethics. The purpose of making this article is to find out the role of counseling guidance services on student character development. The method used in this article uses the literature review method by analyzing several studies related to the discussion. The results show that the role of counseling guidance on student character development is very instrumental, through various ways, one of which is a routine event that is held indirectly will develop student character for the better.

POSITIF PARENTING DALAM MENUMBUHKAN KARAKTER ANAK USIA DINI

Early childhood is a child who is at the age of about 0-6 years who are in the golden period or golden age. Where at this time brain development, the way of absorption and formation of children's character develops rapidly and strongly. The character that is formed in children is not suddenly or instantly. But the character that grows in children is formed from the environment. This activity aims to inform and provide assistance to parents about child growth and positive parenting in early childhood with the hope that after this activity can improve the knowledge and skills of parents in carrying out positive parenting in their lives. The activity was carried out at PAUD Insan Mandiri located in Purwadadi Village, Lebak Wangi District, Serang. Community service activities are carried out in the form of seminars and questions and answers regarding growth and development problems and character building in children. The result of the implementation of this activity is the formation of knowledge and understanding of respondents (parents) in carrying out good parenting in accordance with the growth and development of children in their daily lives

Early childhood is the golden age of the golden age period for the development of all aspects of life, including physical, cognitive, social emotional and character building in children. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. There are several data collection techniques that the researchers conducted in this study, which include structured observation, semi-structured interviews using a questionnaire schedule or interview guide used in conducting interviews with research sources.

Efforts to Increase Sports Activities and Character Utilize Traditional Sports in Karangjati Child Friendly Village

The purpose of this study was to increase sports activities and re-socialize traditional games to children in the Karangjati Child Friendly Village as character building in children. The research method used is observation with anecdotal records. Participants who took part in the mini research totaled 150 children consisting of boys and girls. This research already has permission from the Committee for Folk Games and Traditional Sports of Semarang Regency to organize traditional sports activities. In actual implementation there are 5 types of traditional games including shoveling, bakiak, stilts, sreng, and running blocks, all participants are divided into 3 groups A, B, and C and then try them sequentially. Of the 5 traditional sports, each has its own character value and is given a positive understanding of each traditional game. Hopefully, further research can be carried out with a larger capacity, so as to spread the traditional game more broadly.

CHARACTER BUILDING AS ONE OF THE FOCUSES OF NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLANNING IN INDONESIAN LEGISLATION

Character building is the foundation for realizing the vision of national development, which is to create a noble, moral, ethical, cultured, and civilized society based on the philosophy of Pancasila. Based on this background, the legal issues in this research are: 1) What is the object of character building that become the focus of national development planning? and 2) How is character building regulated in legislation? This research uses a statutory approach and a conceptual approach. The objects of character building that becomes the focus of national development planning are the character building of children, youth and the State Civil Apparatus. Character building regulated in several regulations, namely: Law No. 5 of 2014 on State Civil Apparatus, Amendment to Child Protection Law, Amendment to the Marriage Law, Law No. 18 of 2019 on the Islamic Boarding Schools, Law No. 11 of 2022 concerning Sport, Law No. 12 of 2022 on the Sexual Violence Crimes and Law No. 23 of 2022 on the Psychology Education and Services.

Synergy of Tri Center of Education in Early Childhood Character Building in Scavenger Village Environment

Children's character building is one of the tasks of parents and families, but it will be more effective if done in collaboration with school institutions and the community. This is because these three parties are the Tri Center of Education. The success of education will depend on how the synergy of the three parties in working together to educate children. This also applies to the formation of children's character. The purpose of this study is to obtain the results of an analysis of the synergy of the Tri Center of Education in shaping children's character, especially in the scavenger village environment. This research method uses a qualitative method of case study type. Data collection was conducted in Scavenger Village using interview, observation, and document study techniques. This was done to examine how the synergy of the Tri Center of Education in the middle to lower economic level, which is not a conducive environment to educate their children. The results showed that in Scavenger Village, the synergy of the Tri Center of Education has been built in early childhood character building. Parents at home actively provide stimulus in the form of habituation, teachers at PAUD schools teach character values, and are supported by the community who informally form an environment that familiarizes children to respect each other.

The Soul and Spirit of Morality in Sudha Murthy’s Select Short Story Books for Children

The soul and spirit of morality have been transmitted to children from generation to generation through stories. Stories play a significant role in the mental growth and character-building of children. Storybooks are a wonderful source of inspiration and lay a strong foundation for their future life. Reading storybooks helps children to increase their confidence, handle emotions, and cope up with problems. It also develops their imagination power, language skills, and learning. The multi-faceted prolific children’s author Sudha Murthy’s contribution to the field of children’s literature is a hallmark in Indian English literature. Her children’s stories dealt with the importance of family bonds and concern towards society and fellow beings. The characters in her stories help the children to understand our culture and tradition. The paper tries to analyze three such books of children's stories by Sudha Murthy in the light of the theories of ‘tabula rasa’ and ‘Kohlberg's Theory of moral judgment’. The paper focuses on How I Taught My Grandmother to Read and Other Stories, Grandma’s Bag of Stories, and The Magic Drum and Other Favourite Stories’ and the moral values inculcated in them.

Penerapan permainan tradisional congklak lidi sebagai media membangun karakter anak sekolah dasar

Character building of children basically aims to educate children to have the best performance and be moral. Traditional games are inherited and contain noble values. Traditional games contain values that can be used as media to build children's character. The Congklak Lidi game is a traditional game that contains high values for characters such as morals, problem-solving, and self-control. The problem of this activity partner was the unavailability of facilities, infrastructure, and resources to implement these traditional games. The purpose of this program was to apply the traditional game of Congklak Lidi to elementary school children in order to install positive values to build children's character, such as problem-solving, unyielding spirit, self-control, and honesty. The Congklak Lidi game program was applied to 29 children aged 6-12 years (grades 1st – 6th). The program was planned to be implemented in partner schools, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the implementation was carried out in several areas in East Java according to the area of origin of each facilitator. The result of this program is the congklak lidi can be implemented at home hence the children’s characters can be learned.

DELINEATION OF WOMEN IDENTITY IN THE DISNEY ANIMATED FILM ECANTO (2019)

Disney's animated films is produced not only to provide entertainment but also to deliver messages in it. Most Disney animated films have a target audience of children. The element of persuasion that includes every message will be one of children's character-building in real life, including how the film constitutes gender identity in children, which will affect the development of their lives. One of Disney's animated films is Encanto film which was released in 2021. The purpose of this research is to describe the moral values of the characters in Encanto film, especially observing the identity of the women depicted in this film. The research method uses a qualitative narrative approach to analyze Encanto film. This study uses Stuart Hall's representation theory and Christian Metz's Semiotic Analysis Method (MAS), or cinematographic semiotics. By the critical paradigm, this MAS is qualitatively interpretive. A method that focuses on signs and texts as objects of study and how researchers interpret and understand the code (decoding) behind the signs and texts. The study revealed the women's identity on the main character, Mirabel in the film Encanto. This identity is mainly found from the stereotypical Mirabel identity as a woman. The other marginalization, subordination, power, and workload differentiate Mirabel’s identity as a woman from men in Encanto film

Character building in children is important to help them have good characteristics and personalities. The characteristics of each child are also important and must be understood by parents to educate their children well. The purpose of this study was to describe the character building in children in the drama script "Mencari Taman." The study of the drama script entitled "Mencari Taman" applied a Literary Psychology approach, namely through understanding the psychological theory used to analyze a literary work and examining the formation of characters in the play. This research employed the content analysis method. This research is literary research through the analysis of data collected by document review and analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, several values shaping the characteristics of children were found in the drama script "Mencari Taman" by Noorca M. Massardi, and they were the values of discipline, humanity, concern for the environment, compassion, religion, and noble character..

Pembentukan Karakter pada Anak Usia Dini melalui Program Toilet Training

Character building is very appropriate to be carried out from an early age in the implementation of education that focuses on character building. However, not all educational institutions are able to organize various character building programs for children. Toilet training is one of the programs that can be done to shape children's character. This paper is intended to describe and analyze the process of character building for children through the toilet training program at PAUD Abaca. The data in this study were collected through interviews, observation and documentation. Then the data was analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data display, and verification. The results showed that there were three stages carried out by the teacher in the implementation of the toilet training program to shape the child's character, namely the stage of introducing kindness, the stage of doing kindness and the stage of reviewing kindness. The result of the toilet training program is that children have the ability to be obedient to the rules and etiquette of washing. This obedience makes children able to be disciplined, independent, responsible and love cleanliness when washing in the toilet.

The aims of this study were 1) to analyze how the parenting style used in the formation of children's character in Duren Village and Sruwen Village; 2) To find out how the differences in parenting patterns in the formation of children's character in Duren Village and Sruwen Village; 3) To find out how the construction of parenting for children in Duren Village and Sruwen Village and its relevance in facing the current millennial generation. The researcher uses a mixed type of research (mixed methodology). The results of the study are: 1) The parenting style of parents in Duren Village is authoritative parenting, namely parents who apply democratic parenting have clear rules and expectations, and parenting in Sruwen Village is authoritarian parenting where parents are the center, namely the center of everything. the words/words, as well as the will of the parents, are used as a benchmark that must be obeyed by the child; 2) Parents in Duren Village in shaping children's character through behavior that is very effective in directing children, while parenting in Sruwen Village in caring for their children is more concerned with the wishes of parents, children are supervised quite closely, parents always keep their distance from children; 3) The construction of democratic parenting in Duren Village will give birth to an assertive personality, which is the ideal type, so that not many people are weak. Meanwhile, the construction of authoritarian and permissive parenting in Sruwen Village can make children feel unloved, isolated, and even hated by their parents.

Pengenalan Aplikasi "Khan Academy Kids" Guna Menunjang Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris dan Penanaman Nilai Baik

The use of technology during the current pandemic facilitates the process of online teaching and learning activities. One of the digital applications that can support learning English is Khan Academy. Khan Academy offers educational videos and exercises in various contents. The application helps educators and students to meet the educational challenges faced in the current pandemic conditions. The use of Khan Academy has been implemented in many developing countries including Indonesia. The purpose of this Community Service activity is to find out the effect of using the Khan Academy application on learning English and inculcating good values in students. In the activity, the writers focus one to see the development of children character building and increase motivation to learn English. It was held at TBM Sanggar Baca Jendela Dunia Ciputat. The descriptive qualitative was applied to explore the results. It has two aspects of outcomes: using digital applications, children are expected to achieve reinforcement to improve English language skills, and children at Sanggar Baca Jendela Dunia are expected to obtain the positive development of character buildings which are enthusiasm, independence, and thoroughness in the English learning process. The use of this application is expected to have a lot of positive impacts for students to support academic and non- academic achievements, as well as in daily activities.

URGENSI PERAN ORANG TUA DALAM MEMBINA BUDI PEKERTI PADA ANAK (Telaah Surat Luqman Ayat 12-24)

The purpose of this research In this study to determine the urgency of the role of parents in fostering character in children. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. The results of this study indicate that parents are mother figures who gave birth to their children and fathers who are of the same birth are most importantly similar to their children both physically and in behavior. And it is parents who have a very important role in shaping the character of children so that they have character, respect each other, be honest, polite, have responsibility, be kind, friendly, and obey the rules. The problem in this study is that parents do not understand the importance of character building for children and assume that character building is only in formal education (schools) and children are not paid enough attention or are not educated optimally so that children have bad characters. Unfavorable characters such as speaking impolitely, lack of care for fellow friends, dishonest with parents and lack of respect for elders. The need for spirituality is the need to maintain faith, restore faith, fulfill religious obligations, and to balance one's intellectual and emotional abilities, so that with this ability will help realize the complete human person. Spiritual intelligence is the main potential that parents must pay attention to so that children experience proper development. Parents often ignore the spiritual development of preschool age children because they think that preschool age is just a playing age so that their spiritual development has not become a priority. Emotional and spiritual intelligence is very important in and for human life. Efforts in developing this intelligence must start from parents, because parents are the first to be recognized by people as a child, parents are the first madrasa for their children.

Gambaran Pengetahuan Orang Tua tentang Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut Anak di Masa Pandemi Covid-19 (Kajian pada TK Orchid Ciangsana)

Background : Oral health is an essential component of general health. Mother is an important figure for children's character building, providing support and role model to children, influencing children’s oral health. Parents’ knowledge about oral health, especially mothers, will affect children’s oral health. Many studies have reported there is a relationship between children’s oral health behavior, and their mother’s knowledge and oral health behavior. Aim: To assess parents’ knowledge about children’s oral health during the Covid-19 pandemic in Orchid Kindergarten Methods: A descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted on 36 persons. The data were obtained using google form questionnaire and presented in the form of frequency distribution tables. The reliability and validity test is based on Cronbach’s Alpha and correlation’s coefficient value. Results: 30 respondents (93.75%) have a good level of knowledge and 2 respondents (6.25%) have a sufficient level of knowledge. Conclusion: The level of knowledge of parent in Orchid Kindergarten were categorized as good.

PEMANFAATAN METODE IMPRESIF TERHADAP PROSES PENGEMBANGAN KARAKTER SISWA

Teaching literature during a pandemic can be an alternative in developing character in students. This research is important to do to see the convergence of performances that are usually watched once, but due to digitalization, it is now easier for viewers to enjoy the performance. This study reveals the role and function of virtual drama staging in character building in children during the pandemic. The research data source is the recording of the virtual performance of Theater Comma entitled "Pandemi" by N. Riantiarno. The approach used is descriptive qualitative. And the method used is descriptive qualitative method. This study uses an objective (approachstructural).The findings found several values of character strengthening, namely religious, honest, responsible, and social care. These four values can be seen from the dialogue between actors to the attitude of the actors in responding to the pandemic. Based on the values of character education found, it shows that virtual performances are able to become a relevant literary medium for planting character education in the distance learning period.
