An expert system is a solution to this problem. The expert system designed refers to the theory of multiple types of intelligence or Multiple Intelligence put forward by Howard Gardner. There are 2 methods that will be used, namely Forward Chaining and Certainty Factor. The Forward Chaining method is used to produce a conclusion from the user's answer. Meanwhile, the Certainty Factor method is used to provide a confidence value or certainty value for the conclusions that have been produced. In designing the expert system website, the author collaborated with a psychologist who is an expert in making measuring instruments or ensuring that the indicators used are in accordance with psychological science

Sistem Pakar Diagnosis Penyakit Kulit Pada Anak Menggunakan Metode Certainty Factor

Technological advances in the modern era have facilitated various aspects of life, including health. Puskesmas Tanjung Ria in Jayapura, Papua, Indonesia, serves about 100 patients daily from 07:30 to 14:30. One of its main services is the diagnosis of skin diseases in children, which can be caused by genetic factors, environment, stress and parasitic infections. Research shows that there are about 20 to 30 pediatric patients with skin diseases every week. Often the treatment of skin diseases is delayed due to public understanding at the Tanjung Ria Health Center, diagnosis is carried out by a team consisting of 1 doctor and 1 assistant with a symptom-based approach. However, the main obstacles are hectic work schedules and limited resources. Available pediatricians may not have enough experience in dermatology, which can lead to suboptimal treatment. To reduce uncertainty in medical diagnosis and improve the diagnosis of skin diseases in children, the Certainty Factor (CF) method is applied in the expert system. This study proposes the development of a web-based system that uses certainty factor methods for early symptoms of skin diseases in children, in order to prevent delays in treatment. System development uses the waterfall method, which includes needs analysis, design, coding and testing with the blackbox method.

Combination certainty factor method and fuzzy expert system module to determine the dose of leukemia drugs

Leukemia is a type of blood cancer. Treatment for leukemia patients can last for years because the dose of medication given is adjusted to the patient's immune system. The aim of this research is the use of information technology through a combination of certainty factors and the development of a fuzzy expert system (FES) module to determine the therapeutic schedule for administering leukemia drugs. The urgency of this research is to help medical personnel in measuring the dose of leukemia medication to be given to patients so as to increase the cure rate for leukemia patients. The method used is certainty factor and fuzzy logic. The combination of the certainty factor method and the FES module which is carried out using input variables in the form of the severity of the leukemia suffered by the patient is to produce an appropriate therapeutic schedule for administering leukemia drugs. The result of this research is a combination of the factor certainty method and the FES module which has been tested and the accuracy level is 95.17%, the same as recommendations from experts.

Diagnosa Penyakit pada Jamur Tiram Putih menggunakan Metode Dempster Shafer

: Oyster mushrooms are one of the popular horticultural products in the community, with a significant increase in demand from year to year. However, farmers often face difficulties in identifying and preventing diseases that attack oyster mushroom plants, which have an impact on production stability. To overcome this problem, this study aims to design an expert system that can diagnose diseases in white oyster mushrooms using the Dempster Shafer Method. This system is designed to provide accurate diagnostic information and solutions to deal with diseases in oyster mushrooms, so as to improve the quality and quantity of production. This study also strengthens previous studies using the Certainty Factor method, with an emphasis on the use of expert knowledge to overcome disease problems in oyster mushroom cultivation. The case study was conducted at Omah Jamur Tiram Stabat, where the results of the implementation are expected to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of oyster mushroom cultivation in the area.

This study aims to develop a web-based expert system using the Certainty Factor (CF) method to diagnose prostate cancer based on the symptoms that appear. The CF method was chosen because of its ability to determine the level of confidence in the facts or rules used in the diagnosis. This study uses data on symptoms and types of prostate cancer. The results of the study can help the public in recognizing prostate cancer symptoms early, with a high level of accuracy in diagnosis. This study is expected to make it easier for patients to make an early diagnosis and accelerate the treatment of prostate cancer.

Chikungunya is a disease caused by the Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) transmitted by Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. Some of the symptoms are sudden fever, chills, pain in the joints, muscle pain in the neck, shoulders and limbs, rash. The purpose of this research is to provide information and knowledge to the public about Chikungunya Disease Treatment and the Elderly know the medicine for Chikungunya Disease treatment. From the results of applying the certainty factor method to diagnose chikungunya disease, it can be obtained that the diagnosis result is acute chikungunya disease with a confidence level of 95.19%.

Diagnosa Penyakit Kulit (Dermatitis) menggunakan Metode Certainty Factor

Dermatitis is an inflammatory skin disease that is accompanied by itchy skin. It occurs in infants, and gets better in adolescence, but some cases can persist for a long time or even develop the disease in adulthood. In general, if you have this skin disease, you should see a skin specialist for a consultation. However, skin specialists are not always at the hospital, making it difficult for patients to arrange appointments to meet or consult. From the analysis carried out, the results of the diagnosis of the selected symptoms are obtained, the most accurate diagnosis is Atopic Dermatitis 98% with the treatment given, namely Corticosteroids and Antihistamines to patients.

An expert system is a device designed with the thought processes of one or more experts in specific or complex fields of knowledge. This system is built on instructional elements that identify and analyze data to address unstructured problems or conduct mathematical analyses of particular issues. With the advancement of web-based information technology, computer damage detection becomes easier for users. Therefore, a web-based expert system application using the certainty factor method is needed to detect computer damage. The certainty factor method works based on symptoms and diagnoses weighted by experts and user input. These weights are then calculated using the certainty factor formula to produce a confidence level in the given diagnosis. The end result is the creation of an expert system application capable of detecting computer damage for users using the web-based certainty factor method. This application not only enhances efficiency in detecting damage but also facilitates maintenance processes by providing a history of damage detection, thereby reducing the time required for repairs. Thus, this application offers an effective and efficient solution for computer damage detection. Additionally, this application can be continually developed and adapted to user needs, making it a highly useful tool in computer maintenance across various environments.

Development of a Web-Based Expert System for Diagnosing Cocoa Diseases Using Forward Chaining and Certainty Factor Methods

Cocoa plant diseases have a detrimental impact on farmers and cultivators. This is due to the limited number and working hours of cocoa plant experts. Another thing is that there are quite a lot of farmers who want to consult, which results in less than optimal handling of cocoa diseases. Therefore, researchers developed an expert system to help diagnose and provide solutions based on disease symptoms experienced by cocoa plants, so that farmers do not need to consult directly with experts. This research uses the forward chaining method in preparing rules and adds the certainty factor (CF) method to calculate the certainty value so that the resulting decisions are more accurate. From the results of manual calculations using a sample of one disease with code P1, the trial showed an accuracy value of 93.0736%. Apart from that, the system was proven to work well and was able to make diagnoses based on symptoms on cocoa plants.

A method for rapidly assessing landslide hazard—taking the landslide in Yongxing town, Mingshan area as an example

To overcome the reliance on large samples and high-quality data in existing evaluation methods, while also improving evaluation efficiency and accuracy, this paper proposes a method for rapid landslide hazard assessment. This method utilizes existing research findings and specific analytical techniques for the study area to conduct rapid assessments. Taking the landslide in Yongxing Town, Mingshan Area, Ya’an City, Sichuan Province as an example, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is combined with the Information Value (IV) method, Certainty Factor (CF) method, and Frequency Ratio (FR) method from previous studies, The AHP-IV and AHP-FR methods assess the study area as a moderately hazardous zone, while the AHP-CF method assesses it as a slightly hazardous zone. Affected by the strong 2013 Lushan earthquake, the landslide in the study area caused permanent damage. Field investigation results show that the landslide hazard in the study area is moderate, and the AHP-IV and AHP-FR methods are more consistent with the actual field results. The AHP-CF method, due to not considering the water system factor and having certain errors in its discrimination method, leans towards a safer assessment, The results of the three evaluation methods are somewhat consistent.

Expert System for Sars Cov-2 Disease with Comorbidities Using a Combination of Case Based Reasoning and Certainty Factor Methods

In various cases, it turns out that infection with the SARS COV-2 virus can have effects on several organs such as the lungs, heart, blood vessels, kidneys and liver. In this regard, some people think that the SARS COV-2 virus is a scary virus that makes people afraid to come to health services so that it has an impact on uncontrolled blood sugar and is prone to complications. To overcome the increase in mortality due to the SARS COV-2 virus with comorbidities with the help of artificial intelligence to build a knowledge-based system in the medical field for diagnosing SARS COV-2 with comorbidities using a combination of Case Based Reasoning and Certainty Factor methods. The Case Based Reasoning method is used as a rule to detect disease symptoms by diagnosing new cases based on old cases. While the Certainty Factor is used to increase the value of confidence and feasibility. The percentage of confidence value given by experts in order to get maximum results.</em></p>

Health, including dental and oral health, is a fundamental human necessity often overlooked by many. Dental and oral diseases can affect anyone unexpectedly, underscoring the critical need for timely professional advice from dentists based on symptoms presented by patients. Various factors contribute to the reluctance in seeking dental consultations, including inadequate awareness of oral health importance, financial constraints, and discomfort from lengthy wait times. This research proposes an Expert System utilizing the Certainty Factor method to diagnose dental diseases efficiently. The Certainty Factor method quantifies the certainty or uncertainty of facts within expert systems. Through computational analysis of multiple symptoms, the system accurately diagnosed a patient with Tooth Faktur disease with a high certainty level of 98.8%. Such an expert system promises to significantly aid dental professionals in diagnosing diseases promptly, facilitating appropriate treatment interventions.

Implementation of the Student Character and Personality Determination System Using the Certainty Factor Method

This research aims to implement a system to determine the character and personality of students using the Certainty Factor method. This method is used to analyze a student's personality based on various relevant factors. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method which involves data collection through surveys and observations of students whose character and personality have been identified. The system is implemented through the development of a computer-based application that integrates data and uses the Certainty Factor algorithm to analyze and determine the character and personality of students. The test results show that the system is able to provide predictions of student character and personality with a satisfactory level of accuracy. The implication of this research is that the application of information technology in the development of character and personality determination methods can make a positive contribution to the development of student personality in the academic environment.

Sistem Pakar Diagnosis Hama dan Penyakit pada Tanaman Padi menggunakan Metode Certainty Factor

This study aims to develop a web-based expert system application using the Certainty Factor method to diagnose pests and diseases in rice plants. The system is designed to assist farmers, particularly in the Barus Subdistrict, Central Tapanuli Regency, in identifying and addressing pest and disease issues that frequently affect rice crops. The development process includes analysis, design, implementation, and testing of the application. Testing results indicate that the application successfully identifies pests and diseases with an accuracy rate of 95%, based on comparisons with manual diagnoses provided by experts. Additionally, the application is user-friendly, allowing farmers to easily select symptoms present in their rice plants and receive accurate diagnoses and appropriate solutions. The user-friendly interface further enhances the ease of use. This study differs from previous research in terms of the types of pests, symptoms, solutions, and the research location.

Analytical ‘decisiveness’ as a robust measure of the absolute importance of landslide predisposing factors

ABSTRACT Although some methods have been proposed to measure the absolute importance of landslide predisposing factors, they are unfortunately complicated by inherent difficulties. In this study, a robust analytical index – ‘decisiveness,’ is proposed for measuring factor absolute importance. The idea is to evaluate factor importance according to the capability of differentiating landslide-susceptible and landslide-insusceptible areas; that is, those factors that can zone the target area into units either highly favorable or highly unfavorable to landslides will be of high importance for landslides. For a specific factor, the favorability values of all grid cell units in the target area are first calculated using the certainty factor method. Then, the magnitudes of all those favorability values are integrated to constitute the decisiveness index. The decisiveness ranges within [0, 1], with higher values indicating greater importance. Updated versions of the open software ALSA can be used to calculate favorability values and further decisiveness. The significance and robustness of decisiveness were validated in a case study. Although decisiveness has been proposed to measure the factor importance for landslides, the novel idea and index can also be used to evaluate the importance of factors in determining the spatial distribution of other objects or phenomena.

Penerapan Metode Certainty Factor Dalam Mendiagnosa Penyakit Otitis Eksterna

Experimental results show that the application of the Certainty Factor Method can assist doctors in diagnosing otitis externa with higher accuracy compared to conventional methods. With this approach, diagnoses are made with higher confidence levels, which can aid in providing accurate and prompt treatment for patients suffering from otitis externa. The Certainty Factor Method has the potential for use in other medical contexts and can make a positive contribution to problem-solving in the healthcare field. This research underscores the importance of technology in supporting ear disease diagnosis and providing more reliable solutions for managing otitis externa. By leveraging the Certainty Factor approach, doctors can be more efficient and effective in responding to patients' conditions, thus reducing the risk of complications and enhancing healthcare quality. Therefore, this study offers a valuable contribution to the fields of medicine and computer science in improving the diagnosis of ear diseases, such as otitis externa, so that patients can receive better and faster care.

Sistem Informasi PPDB Dengan Menerapkan Metode Simple Additive Weight (SAW) Dalam Sistem Pendukung Keputusan Pemilihan Sekolah

This research proposes and implements a web-based New Student Admission Information System (PPDB) using the Simple Additive Weight (SAW) method as a decision support system for school selection. The case study was conducted at the Lidah Kulon I/464 Surabaya Elementary School. The background of this research is driven by the significant impact of information technology advancements in the education sector. Lidah Kulon I/464 Surabaya Elementary School, as an educational institution committed to achieving excellence, discipline, faith, science and technology (IPTEK), as well as environmental awareness, strives to reduce paper usage in the new student registration process by transitioning to a more efficient administrative information system. The results of the tests state that the system has succeeded in various aspects, including the use of the Certainty Factor Method, diagnosis menu, information menu, login menu, and others. The conclusion of this research is that the system has been implemented successfully, supporting the efficiency of the PPDB process, and providing easy access to users. System development recommendations for the future include flexibility without hard coding, more comprehensive user management, the development of a more advanced school selection system, more accurate entrance fee calculations, and considerations for seasonal factors and school promotions. Sistem Pakar untuk Diagnosis Rinitis pada Anak menggunakan Metode Certainty Factor

Expert systems can assist an expert in making decisions that are realized in the form of a program. At this time the program is very helpful in improving various fields such as health, by managing the information that has been obtained. In this research, rhinitis is raised as a topic of discussion by working with experts who are experts in the field, after collecting data through interviews, the conclusion is obtained, namely how to determine whether someone has one of the three types of rhinitis (allergic rhinitis, bacterial rhinitis, and viral rhinitis) with the symptoms experienced and with a fast and accurate process. By using the certainty factor method and applying it to a web-based expert system, it makes it easier for patients and experts to solve the problem, there are 31 types of symptoms among the three types of rhinitis diseases that are used as the basis for the expert system after that with data from 20 patients at the hospital who suffer from various symptoms of rhinitis who have been diagnosed with the disease by experts as validation data and trials it is found that the system is 100% successful in accurately diagnosing each disease in all these patients.

Hepatitis Disease Diagnosis Expert System Using Certainty Factor Method

The liver is the largest visceral organ in the body with important roles such as hormone production, immunity, protein metabolism, and more. This visceral organ can also be affected by various diseases such as hepatitis. Hepatitis is an inflammatory disease of the liver caused by a virus. Hepatitis has five types of disease, namely Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Hepatitis D, and Hepatitis E. The types of hepatitis that have the most cases in Indonesia are Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C. Hepatitis occurs due to a sedentary lifestyle. Hepatitis occurs due to unhealthy lifestyles and delays in treatment due to the patient's lack of knowledge about hepatitis. If hepatitis is not cured early, it can cause other diseases such as chronic liver and can also result in death, therefore this study aims to design an expert system that can diagnose hepatitis disease. This expert system design uses the certainty factor (CF) method. The certainty factor (CF) method is used because it can help and facilitate diagnosing hepatitis disease with a certainty value. The certainty value can be presented with a range of values from 0 to 100. This research produces an accuracy value of 80%, therefore this expert system is effective for measuring certainty in diagnosing hepatitis disease early.

Sistem Pakar Diagnosa Penyakit Hipoparatiroid Dengan Menggunakan Metode Certainty Factor

Hypoparathyroidism is a disease in which the paratiroid gland in the body only emits a slight amount of the paratiroid hormone. Each person has four parathyroid glands located in the neck, near the thyroid. The paratiroid gland secretes the hormone paratiroid (PTH). In the human body the paratiroid hormone ACTS to maintain a balance of two minerals, calcium and phosphate. Calcium is needed to ensure the smooth operation of the nerves, muscles, and heart. Phosphate is needed in bone formation and teeth. As a result of the hypoparthyroid, the body will develop electrolytic dislytes of low levels of calcium (hypokalsemia) and high levels of phosphate (hyperphosphate). If found in the early stages, the disease is not a serious condition, although sufferers will need doctors' care and supervision throughout their life. In this study the authors wish to diagnose symptoms of hypoparatiroid disease by using systems of experts. The system of experts is a branch of computer-based artificial intelligence that employs specialized knowledge, facts and reasoning techniques in solving the problem of a particular expert in the field to solve a particular problem. In the system experts there is the Certainty Factor method that can prove whether a fact is certain or uncertain that is meant to diagnose the hypoparathyroid disease on the basis of its symptoms.
