Comparative study on the impact of ‘Infographic versus video feedback’ on enhancing students’ clinical skills in basic life support

BackgroundEffective cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training for nursing students is crucial for improving patient outcomes in cardiac arrest scenarios. This study assesses the impact of infographic versus video feedback on enhancing nursing students’ clinical skills in Basic Life Support (BLS).MethodsIn a randomized controlled setting, 76 nursing students at Torbat Heydariyeh University of Medical Sciences were divided into two groups: one received infographic-based education and the other video feedback training. Pre- and post-intervention assessments measured knowledge and skill retention using validated questionnaires.ResultsPost-training, the infographic group showed significantly higher knowledge scores, while the video feedback group exhibited greater improvement in CPR skill performance. No significant differences were noted in pre-training assessment scores between the groups.ConclusionInfographic-based education enhances BLS knowledge retention, and video feedback improves practical CPR skills. This suggests potential benefits of a combined infographic and video feedback approach for optimizing CPR training outcomes, addressing a critical need in medical education.

The Knowledge and Practice of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) among Nursing Students

Cardiac arrest is the sudden cessation of a person’s cardiac activity and is often fatal if corrective life-saving interventions are not performed quickly. The American Heart Association advocates the need for high CPR competency among healthcare providers to increase the cardiac arrest survival rate. This study aimed to determine the knowledge and practice of nursing students on the acquisition and retention of CPR. A quantitative descriptive-correlation design was used, and a sample of 76 nursing students of Universiti Malaysia Sabah were recruited via a non-probability purposive technique. Data were collected using an online survey questionnaire that consists of 3 sections: Demographic, knowledge of CPR, and practice of CPR. They were analyzed using the correlation method. The results of this study are about the knowledge and practice of CPR. Nursing students' knowledge of the acquisition of CPR could be higher (39.36%), as is their practice (31.95%). The correlation coefficient between knowledge and practice is insignificant (rho = -0.073, p 0.531).In this study, both the knowledge and practice of CPR are independent.

Emergency incidents can occur anywhere, this condition requires community participation to help victims before they are found by health workers, which is very important. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation health education for the lay public is the main thing to increase the ability to help life-threatening victims before going to the hospital. Health information about cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for people aims to increase knowledge and be able to help victims of cardiac arrest. The activities are carried out in 2 methods offline and online which are packaged in the form of questions, answers and direct practice. The number of participants was 30, health education material was delivered and questions and answers were held for ± 30 minutes about RJP, followed by CPR practice for ± 20 minutes. The tools used are small manikins and pillows and there are group divisions and each group is accompanied by a guide. The results before health education and CPR practice were carried out, the level of knowledge of respondents was good, 15 people (50%), 5 people (17%) had sufficient knowledge and 10 people (33%) had less knowledge. After being given health education there was a change in the knowledge category, namely 18 people (60%) had good knowledge, 7 people (23%) had sufficient knowledge and 5 people had less knowledge (17%) about heart attacks and CPR skills. This community service hopes that ordinary people can carry out Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation as basic life support (Basic Cardiac Life Support) and management of cardiac arrest victims outside the hospital

Knowledge and attitude toward cardiopulmonary resuscitation among students at a public Saudi University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the knowledge, attitude, and practice related to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) among university students in Saudi Arabia. The goal was to gain insights into CPR awareness, training rates, and factors influencing emergency bystander response. Methods: A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted targeting students from Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Demographic factors such as age, gender, nationality, college affiliation, and academic level were analyzed. The participants' awareness and practice of CPR, motivations for learning CPR, attitude toward CPR, and perceptions of effective strategies to increase CPR knowledge were assessed through an online questionnaire. Results: The majority of participants (56.2%) reported having information about CPR, with movies/TV shows and the internet serving as the primary sources of knowledge. However, only 9.9% had encountered a CPR situation; among those, only 37% performed resuscitation. Lack of knowledge was the main reason for not performing CPR (71.1%). Most participants (82.8%) called the emergency number during a medical emergency, but only 18.6% had undergone CPR training. The participants expressed a high willingness (91.6%) to learn CPR, with perceived personal benefit being the primary motivation. Increasing publicity (73.7%) and offering free training courses (68.0%) were identified as effective ways to enhance CPR knowledge. Conclusion: The study revealed a need for improved CPR awareness and training among university students. The findings emphasize the importance of addressing knowledge gaps, implementing mandatory CPR training as a graduation requirement, and increasing public awareness through media campaigns.

Evaluation of a newly developed first aid training programme adapted for older people

BackgroundOlder people need to acquire knowledge and skills at first aid (FA) training tailored to them. Our research aimed to evaluate an FA training programme adapted for older people. We assumed that satisfaction with FA training, as well as knowledge of FA, would be higher among older people who received training according to an adapted programme compared to those who received training according to the existing programme for the general public.MethodsWe trained older people according to the existing FA programme for the general public and according to a new FA training programme adapted for older people. The new training program is shorter and focuses on FA contents that are more relevant for older people. We evaluated participants with a general assessment questionnaire (consisting of items regarding satisfaction, comprehensibility, length, and physical difficulty), a test on theoretical FA knowledge, and a test on practical cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) knowledge. To ensure the homogeneity of the groups and to verify the impact on the results of the test of practical CPR knowledge, we also tested the participants regarding their psychophysical capabilities.ResultsA total of 120 people completed the free FA training sessions. The general assessment questionnaire score of participants who were trained based on the new FA training program was 19.3 (out of 20), which was statistically significantly (p < 0.05) higher than that of those trained based on the old program (general assessment score of 17.1). Participants who were trained based on the new program scored an average of 8.6 points on the theoretical FA knowledge test, while those who were trained based on the old program scored an average of 7.1 points, which was statistically significantly (p < 0.05) lower. In both programs, the same average scores (7.5 out of 10 points) on the practical CPR knowledge test was achieved. However, participants who participated in the FA course adapted for the older people gained practical CPR knowledge in a shorter time. Older people with a greater psychophysical capacity were more successful in performing CPR, regardless of which FA training programme they received.ConclusionsThe effectiveness of FA training is greater if older people are trained in accordance with a targeted programme adapted to the psychophysical limitations of the older people.

Perception and Attitude of Nigerian Athletes towards Bystander Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Background/Objective: Effective practice of bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) will depend to a good extent on the perception and attitude of a population towards this life-saving technique. This study aimed at assessing the perception and attitude of Nigerian athletes towards this important procedure.&#x0D; Methods: A questionnaire-based national cross-sectional survey of Nigerian athletes was carried out during the 21st National Sports Festival (NSF) in Delta State, Nigeria, which continued after the festival in the various locations of the athletes in the country. The data obtained was analysed using SPSS version 25 and descriptive and chi-square statistics, as well as one sample t test were employed with significance level set at P &lt; .05.&#x0D; Results: In all, 419 athletes were involved in the study - 278 (66.3%) males and 141(33.7%) females with age range of 11- 49 years and mean age of 23.43 + 5.66 (SD). The participants significantly had positive perception of (P &lt; .000) and attitude towards bystander CPR (P &lt; .000), which did not vary significantly with respect to their participation in contact or non-contact sports (P &gt; .05).&#x0D; Conclusion/Recommendation: The Nigerian athletes showed encouraging positive perception of bystander CPR and attitude towards it. Nigerian Governments should actively support the establishment of sustainable programmes for teaching and training of athletes in bystander CPR

Nigerian Athletes’ Previous Training, Practice and Current Knowledge of Bystander Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Background /Aim: The public health burden of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) and the need to increase the rates of bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in communities including the world of sports cannot be overemphasized. The study aimed at assessing the level of previous training, practice and present knowledge of bystander CPR among Nigerian athletes.&#x0D; Methods: A national cross-sectional questionnaire-based survey of Nigerian athletes was carried out involving 25 different sporting events. The participants at the 21st National Sports Festival that held at Delta State, Nigeria filled the questionnaire, which was continued after the festival at some of their various states. The final data was analysed with the SPSS Version 25, using both descriptive and chi-square statistics, as well as one-sample t-test. The significance level was set at P &lt; .05.&#x0D; Results: In all, 419 athletes participated in the study - 278 (66.3%) males and 141(33.7%) females with age range of 11- 49 years and mean age of 23.43 + 5.66 (SD). On average, 67.86% of the athletes had never had any previous bystander CPR training while 55.73% never practiced the procedure. Significantly more of the athletes never had CPR bystander training before this study (P = .000), as well as no previous practice (P = .0000), which did not significantly differ between contact and non-contact sports athletes. Significantly more of them had poor bystander CPR theoretical knowledge (P = .000) that did not vary significantly between contact and non-contact sports athletes, with average of only 27.23% of the athletes giving correct answers.&#x0D; Conclusion: The study has revealed significantly low previous training, practice and poor knowledge of bystander CPR among Nigerian athletes. There is urgent need for organised, sustainable bystander CPR training facilities for Nigerian athletes.

Association of CPR simulation program characteristics with simulated and actual performance during paediatric in-hospital cardiac arrest

AimTo evaluate associations between characteristics of simulated point-of-care cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training with simulated and actual intensive care unit (ICU) CPR performance, and with outcomes of children after in-hospital cardiac arrest. MethodsThis is a pre-specified secondary analysis of the ICU-RESUScitation Project; a prospective, multicentre cluster randomized interventional trial conducted in 18 ICUs from October 2016–March 2021. Point-of-care bedside simulations with real-time feedback to allow multidisciplinary ICU staff to practice CPR on a portable manikin were performed and quality metrics (rate, depth, release velocity, chest compression fraction) were recorded. Actual CPR performance was recorded for children 37 weeks post-conceptual age to 18 years who received chest compressions of any duration, and included intra-arrest haemodynamics and CPR mechanics. Outcomes included survival to hospital discharge with favourable neurologic status. ResultsOverall, 18,912 point-of-care simulations were included. Simulation characteristics associated with both simulation and actual performance included site, participant discipline, and timing of simulation training. Simulation characteristics were not associated with survival with favourable neurologic outcome. However, participants in the top 3 sites for improvement in survival with favourable neurologic outcome were more likely to have participated in a simulation in the past month, on a weekday day, to be nurses, and to achieve targeted depth of compression and chest compression fraction goals during simulations than the bottom 3 sites. ConclusionsPoint-of-care simulation characteristics were associated with both simulated and actual CPR performance. More recent simulation, increased nursing participation, and simulation training during daytime hours may improve CPR performance.

Deep Learning Strategy for Sliding ECG Analysis during Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation: Influence of the Hands-Off Time on Accuracy.

This study aims to present a novel deep learning algorithm for a sliding shock advisory decision during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and its performance evaluation as a function of the cumulative hands-off time. We retrospectively used 13,570 CPR episodes from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) interventions reviewed in a period of interest from 30 s before to 10 s after regular analysis of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Three convolutional neural networks (CNNs) with raw ECG input (duration of 5, 10, and 15 s) were applied for the shock advisory decision during CPR in 26 sequential analyses shifted by 1 s. The start and stop of chest compressions (CC) can occur at arbitrary times in sequential slides; therefore, the sliding hands-off time (sHOT) quantifies the cumulative CC-free portion of the analyzed ECG. An independent test with CPR episodes in 393 ventricular fibrillations (VF), 177 normal sinus rhythms (NSR), 1848 other non-shockable rhythms (ONR), and 3979 asystoles (ASYS) showed a substantial improvement of VF sensitivity when increasing the analysis duration from 5 s to 10 s. Specificity was not dependent on the ECG analysis duration. The 10 s CNN model presented the best performance: 92-94.4% (VF), 92.2-94% (ASYS), 96-97% (ONR), and 98.2-99.5% (NSR) for sliding decision times during CPR; 98-99% (VF), 98.2-99.8% (ASYS), 98.8-99.1 (ONR), and 100% (NSR) for sliding decision times after end of CPR. We identified the importance of sHOT as a reliable predictor of performance, accounting for the minimal sHOT interval of 2-3 s that provides a reliable rhythm detection satisfying the American Heart Association (AHA) standards for AED rhythm analysis. The presented technology for sliding shock advisory decision during CPR achieved substantial performance improvement in short hands-off periods (>2 s), such as insufflations or pre-shock pauses. The performance was competitive despite 1-2.8% point lower ASYS detection during CPR than the standard requirement (95%) for non-noisy ECG signals. The presented deep learning strategy is a basis for improved CPR practices involving both continuous CC and CC with insufflations, associated with minimal CC interruptions for reconfirmation of non-shockable rhythms (minimum hands-off time) and early treatment of VF (minimal pre-shock pauses).

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Performed by Bystanders: A Systematic Review

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is the most popular treatment for unexpected cardiac arrest. In order to enhance the survival and neurological prognosis of out of hospital cardiac arrest patients, both healthcare practitioners and lay rescuers must learn this technique. Millions of people die each year as a result of sudden cardiac arrest across the world due to ineffective CPR performed by bystander. The aim of this review is to identify the existing literature on knowledge, attitude and practice of the community at the out of hospital cardiac arrest level. Guided by the PRISMA Statement review checklist, a systematic review of the Scopus and Web of Science database and Science Direct has identified 332 related studies. The articles were assessed and analysed after evaluation using The Critical Appraisal Skills Programme Qualitative checklist. Total article accepted were n=11. We reviewed 1150 articles and selected 332 for complete evaluation. We included 11 of the 332 papers in this review that was published since 2018. We classified 11 recommendations; those with the highest scores were 1) Knowledge assisted CPR among bystander CPR remain poor, 2) CPR challenge on stranger, 3) CPR challenge on barrier, 4) The impact on quality CPR on survival rate and 5) Conventional CPR with mouth to mouth vs chest-compression only - CPR. CPR at out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, with several factors that influences such as knowledge, attitude, practice of community bystander CPR. While, the willingness (self-efficacy), the barriers and reluctant of bystander CPR still not clear. The targeted group for CPR training and tailored of training CPR for the bystander CPR give the effect and quality of CPR performance. Furthermore, the motivating factors to begin CPR at the out-of-hospital cardiac arrest level that emerged from a study of these publications. Recommendations not supported by evidence include mass training events, pulse taking prior to CPR by community and CPR using chest compressions alone. We evaluated and classified the potential impact of interventions that have been proposed to improve bystander CPR rates. Our results may help communities design interventions to improve their bystander CPR rates.

Effects of different cardiopulmonary resuscitation education interventions among university students: A randomized controlled trial.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) education for the public may improve bystander intention to perform CPR on cardiac arrest patients. Studies have shown that different CPR education intervention methods can improve learning performance, with key indicators including attitude toward to CPR, intention to perform CPR, and degree of CPR knowledge and skills. The present study compared the traditional face-to-face method to hybrid and virtual reality (VR) methods to observe difference in learning performance and length of performance retention. This study adopted randomized controlled trial to compare CPR learning performance between traditional face-to-face, hybrid, and VR methods. Participants from each intervention group completed a pretest and 2 posttests. The measurement tools included an attitude and intention questionnaire, knowledge examination, and skill examination with a RESUSCI ANNE QCPR ® manikin. The performance among all participants in pretest showed no significant difference between the intervention groups, indicating no difference in their background attitude, knowledge, and skill level. Significant differences were observed in the average degree of intention to perform CPR between the hybrid and traditional groups in 1st and 2nd posttest. Compared to the pretest results, the posttests revealed significantly higher attitude toward CPR, intention to perform CPR, knowledge examination results, accuracy of overall chest compression, accuracy of CPR procedure, accuracy of AED usage, accuracy of chest compression rate, and accuracy of chest compression depth. The average time to reattending CPR learning and practice session was 11-12 weeks reported by participants. The hybrid and VR methods to CPR education resulted in the same level of improvement in learning performance as traditional face-to-face teaching. The suggested frequency for renewing CPR knowledge and skills is 12 weeks which may be considered in new strategies aimed at promoting CPR education and exposure to the public.

Cost-effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation practice device for maintaining chest compression quality: a semi-randomized controlled clinical trial

Objective Continued chest compression after the completion of a basic life support (BLS) course is effective for maintaining the skills acquired during the course. Using low-cost tennis balls for BLS practice, we examined the effects on the long-term continued quality of chest compression. Methods This semi-randomized controlled clinical trial included 153 participants who completed BLS courses from August 2018 to December 2019 and were randomly divided into 5 groups: ball with rhythm (n=33), ball without rhythm (n=32), manikin (Little Anne) with rhythm (n=16), manikin without rhythm (n=23), and no-practice (n=49). Immediately after training and at 3, 6, and 12 months following training, chest compression quality (rate, depth, recoil, and pressure point) was measured, and intergroup comparisons were statistically analyzed. Results The no-practice group demonstrated a decline in chest compression quality at 3 months after BLS course completion. However, no participant in the ball with rhythm group demonstrated a decline in quality on any evaluated items even at 12 months. The tennis ball group (n=65) and the manikin group (n=39) did not demonstrate any significant differences in chest compression quality. Conclusion Weekly BLS practice with low-cost tennis balls can maintain the quality of chest compression for 12 months. Tennis balls are spherical, give only on perpendicular downward compression, and roll away on removing hands, which facilitates the acquisition of proper chest compression posture. Nurses' Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practice of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation at a Selected Training Hospital in Namibia: A Cross-Sectional Survey.

Nurses play a key role in cases of cardiopulmonary arrest by promptly attending to and initiating cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation thus requires nurses to possess appropriate attitudes, competencies, and adherence to the best nursing practice. Cardiac arrests are a prevalent cause of fatalities, being responsible for approximately 30% of deaths worldwide. Despite this statistic, however, research in this specific field is lacking in Namibia. The objective of this research was to examine registered nurses' knowledge, attitudes toward, and practice with regard to cardiopulmonary resuscitation at a selected teaching hospital in Namibia. A cross-sectional survey design using a self-administered questionnaire was utilized to purposively recruit 158 registered nurses from the inpatient and outpatient departments of a teaching hospital in Namibia. Descriptive and chi-square tests were performed using SPSSv26. The results of the study indicate that a significant percentage of nurses have limited knowledge (14.7 ± 1.50), negative attitudes (36.2 ± 4.8), and poor practice (11.16 ± 1.18) when it comes to cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Their poor knowledge is strongly associated with poor practice (χ2 = 9.162, P = .002). The study further revealed a significant correlation between the departments in which the nurses worked and their practice of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, suggesting that the work environment is a crucial factor in determining a nurse's approach to emergency care. The findings of study indicate that the cardiopulmonary resuscitation practice in the selected hospital is unsafe due to the registered nurses' poor knowledge and negative attitudes. It is strongly recommended that hospital managers and policy-makers take steps to formulate guidelines that mandate regular cardiopulmonary resuscitation training at predetermined times.

Materials and Methods: The study analyzed a cross-sectional survey that discussed pharmacist’s knowledge of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) medications in Saudi Arabia. The survey consisted of respondents’ demographic information about pharmacists and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) drugs, assessment of primary and advanced knowledge, and the resources used for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) medications. The 5-point Likert response scale system was used with closed-ended questions. The survey was validated through the revision of expert reviewers and pilot testing. Besides, various tests of the reliability of McDonald’s ω, Cronbach alpha, Gutmann’s λ2, and Gutmann’s λ6 were carried out with the study. The data analysis of the Pharmacist practice of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) medications is done through the survey monkey system. Besides, the statistical package of social sciences (SPSS), Jeffery’s Amazing Statistics Program (JASP), and Microsoft Excel sheet version 16 were implemented. Results: A total number of 439 pharmacists responded to the questionnaire. Of them, more than onethird responded from the Central region (122 (31.69%)), one Quarter responded from the Eastern region (91 (23.64%)), and one-fifth responded from the southern part (79 (20.52%)). Males responded more than females (203 (53.14%)) versus 179 (46.86%)), with statistically non-significant differences between all levels (p=0.219). Most of the responders were in the age group of 36-45 years (152 (39.48%)) and 46-55 years (134 (34.81%)), with statistically significant differences between all age groups (p=0.000). The majority of pharmacists had training courses in Basic Life Support (BLS) (293 ((77.11%)), Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (289 ((76.05%)), Pediatric Cardiac Life Support (PCLS) (287((75.53%)), and Neonatal Cardiac Life Support (NCLS) (203 ((53.42%)), with statistically significant differences between all levels (p=0.000). The average score of basic knowledge of pharmacists about Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) medications was (1.67). The element “know how to prepare and dispense ACLS medications list” obtained the highest score (2.04). The aspect “there is an official standardized NCLS medications list” (1.94), and The element “there is an official standardized PCLS medications list” (1.93). The average score of advanced knowledge of pharmacists about Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) medications was (1.86). The element “know the compatibility of ACLS medications” obtained the highest score (2.31). The aspect “know the drug - interactions with NCLS medications” (2.27), and The element “know the drug - interactions with PCLS medications” (2.17). The resources used most about the CPR medications were Medical association literature/guidelines/recommendations 307 (76.56%), Peer discussions 298 (74.31%), and Scientific literature 293 (73.07%). Conclusion: The pharmacists’ knowledge of CPR medication was inappropriate. Therefore, undergraduate education and training of CPR medication is high recommended. Besides, involvement training for postgraduate studies is required to improve pharmacy staff knowledge of CPR services and patient outcomes in Saudi Arabia. Knowledge, attitude and practices of cardiopulmonary resuscitation among medical interns &amp; junior residents

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a lifesaving technique that's useful in many emergencies. There is documented evidence that timely performed CPR can prevent sudden death. The quality of CPR depends on the sufficiency of the knowledge of health professionals, with this background the present study was undertaken to assess knowledge, attitude and practice of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation among Junior Residents and Medical interns. It is a cross-sectional study conducted from October to December 2018 among 100 medical interns and junior residents of a tertiary care institute in Karnataka. A Pre tested structured questionnaire was used to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice among the study participants. The mean knowledge score of MBBS interns was 22.63±4.211 and the mean score of junior residents was 22.06 ± 3.788. Out of the total, 52% of study subjects had fair knowledge, 36% had good knowledge score and only 8% had poor knowledge score. Almost all (90%) the participants had positive attitude towards CPR, 63% of study participants had assisted while performing CPR and 34% had performed CPR independently. The knowledge, attitude and practices of cardiopulmonary resuscitation among the medical interns and junior residents is better in the present study compared to studies conducted in other parts of India. Simulation based training and exposure to more number of CPR practices in real scenarios will further boost up their confidence to perform this life saving technique.

Knowledge and Practice of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) For Drowning Among Primary School Children

Introduction: Drowning is one of the cases that contribute to a high number of death cases as unintentional injury cases worldwide. The victims of this issue are higher among primary school children. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can be performed for drowning victims who showed an absence of breathing and pulse to regain their consciousness and their life. Furthermore, providing the knowledge and practice of CPR should not only be limited to adults but also the children including at the primary level. Objectives: This study aimed to identify knowledge and the practice of CPR for drowning victims before and after the intervention given. Methods: A pre-post interventional study design with a purposive sampling method was conducted at the primary school. The studied participants were primary school children who live near the coastal areas. Developed self-administered questionnaires and CPR educational videos were used in this study to identify the knowledge and practice of the studied participants. The data were analysed by using IBM SPSS statistics version 25.0. Results: The studied participant's ages were 10 and 11 years old. They were capable of comprehending the information delivered to them. Both knowledge and practice of CPR for drowning victims were increased after the educational video intervention was given to them. Conclusion: The findings showed that although they lacked knowledge and practice of CPR for drowning victims before the intervention, they were able to show improvements in their total score for both parts after the intervention. Educating the children as early as 10 years old regarding CPR for drowning victims was capable to be carried out in the local setting. Hence, the implementation of CPR courses in the curriculum of school children starting from the primary level may happen in the future.
