The occurrence of criminal acts of prostitution and immoral acts in the city of Jambi is currently widespread. This can also be proven by the existence of cases of prostitution at OYO accommodation located in the city of Jambi. Even though there is Jambi City Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2014 on the Eradication of Prostitution and Immoral Acts, in reality there is still prostitution in the city of Jambi even though the local area has been closed. The aim of this research is to understand and analyze the factors that influence people to commit prostitution and immoral acts in Jambi City, obstacles in implementing the effectiveness of Jambi City Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2014 in Eradicating Prostitution and Immoral Acts in the Jambi City area and efforts to overcome obstacles in reducing the number of prostitution and immoral acts in the Jambi city area. The research method is an empirical juridical research type with a legal sociology approach and uses data sources, namely primary legal materials and secondary legal materials. The sampling technique was purposeful sampling and data collection techniques were carried out using interviews and document studies and data analysis was carried out using qualitative analysis. The results of his research are that the factors that influence people to commit prostitution and immoral acts in Jambi City are economic and lifestyle factors, a profitable prostitution business, teenagers having broken home family backgrounds and joining the wrong social groups, the existence of hotels and nightclubs or club. The obstacle in carrying out the effectiveness of Jambi City Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2014 in Eradicating Prostitution and Immoral Acts in the Jambi city area is that criminal sanctions are categorized as light and not as a coercive tool to ensnare perpetrators of prostitution, there is no special authority for the police to carry out criminal sanctions in the Regional Regulation. , there was a leak of information during the raid, the condition of the Youth and Women's Social Home in Talang Bakung was still worrying as it could become a rehabilitation place for prostitutes, there was resistance from the community around the prostitution localization to close the prostitution localization, there was foreign culture coming in such as promiscuity. An effort to overcome obstacles in reducing the number of prostitution and immoral acts in the Jambi city area is that the Jambi City Government closes down the localization of prostitution in the city of Jambi, then carries out socialization of Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2014 to the people of Jambi city, the Jambi city government and the Jambi City Civil Service Police Unit. coordinating with the TNI and Polri in carrying out raids as well as the role of the community or parents in supervising their children when using cellphones.

Underground Economy And Taxation Of Prostitution (Literature Study In Indonesia)

Prostitution is actually an undergorund economy that is difficult to detect, because every commercial sex worker in this business is difficult to distinguish from ordinary people in general. In terms of taxation, tax is designed not to recognise assets obtained from legal activities, and from illegal activities, no matter whether the income is obtained from corruption, prostitution, human trafficking, illegal arms trade and even narcotics. As long as it is known that there is an increase in income or enjoyment, the state has the right to collect taxes. However, the relationship between prostitution and taxes is very sensitive. Prostitution business has a huge potential. Exploring the potential of this business if done massively will increase tax revenue significantly, but there is a trade off that DJP must face. In this case, DJP must also use the moral point of view prevailing in society. Taxing something illegal and immoral will indirectly give an opinion to the public that the state legalises the activity.

Psychoanalytic Exploration of Motherhood among Brown’s The Dancing Girls of Lahore and Saeed’s Taboo! The Hidden Culture of a Red Light Area

Motherhood is a bond, a link, an association filled with love, care and affection between a mother and her children specifically daughter. Motherhood is a bond in which a mother also nurtues the emotional needs of the children and the children feels secure and complete. The data for this article has been collected qualitatively with the help of two ethnographic studies namely Brown’s The Dancing girls of Lahore & Saeed’s Taboo! The Hidden Culture of a Red Light Area. Keeping it in view, the two ethnographic studies have been examined through Lacanian theory of psychoanalysis to identity that how the prostitute mother and daughter relate to each other in terms of motherhood, how the red light area function as Lacanian real to sustain the patriarchal society as a socio-symbolic order and to identify the desire/lacks that this bond lead to in the life of prostitutes (mother and daughter). The findings of this article highlighted that the bond of mother and daughter between the prsotitutes is affected by the society where a woman when looses charms and beauty is not accepted by the society. The accepted bond of motherhood which is a bond of nurture and support from the both sides is severed badly due to the pressure of the society. This article highlighted that the daughter prostitutes are forced by the mother prostitutes to gives up their desires and dreams in order to fulfill the needs of the family as well as the demands of the mother prostitutes that strongly affected the lives of the young girls. The findings of this article highlighted that Lacanian real strongly functions as the society and business of prostitution that is considred to have no effect on the lives of the prostitutes is active here as the standards of the beauty and good lifestyle forced the mothers to keep themselves and their desires before the desires of the daughters.

The Relationship of Entrepreneurs and Ruler in SPA Prostitution Business Practices during the Covid-19 Pandemic in the Nodal Region

The SPA business is proliferating in Indonesia, almost every city in Indonesia has SPA prostitution. The existence of SPA prostitution violates the regulations of the Tourism Law. However, the SPA prostitution business actors know strategies on how to keep their business running, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. The type of research used by researchers in this research is qualitative research. This research was conducted in 2022 in the Jabodetabek nodal area. The type of sampling used by researchers in this research is non-probability sampling because not everyone in this study can be used as a sample. Meanwhile, the sampling technique for selecting informants in this study used a purposive sampling technique. Primary data collection was carried out through interviews and observations. Meanwhile, secondary data was collected using data sources through literature studies and documentation. Based on the field findings, it can be concluded that these SPA prostitution entrepreneurs have built relationships with the authorities around which the SPA prostitution business is carried out. These authorities can be local government officials and also members of mass organizations. The relationship that SPA prostitution entrepreneurs build with the authorities is for no other purpose than protecting and securing their prostitution business practices so that they are not disturbed. The relationship between entrepreneurs and those in power at the wheels of business is a problem introduced previously in the academic context, but this concept is interesting to discuss.

Argumentation of Criminal Liability Law for Commercial Sex Workers (PSK)

One that is still a trend or problem in this country is prostitution. Prostitution is a crime that should be processed to its roots, because prostitution is also a structural problem that is fundamental and often found in society because to this day it is still a crime. moral problem. UU no. 12 of 2022 concerning Crimes of Sexual Violence is the hope for all groups so that their rights can be protected, especially for women and children who are often victims of the circulation of the prostitution business. This type of research used by the author is normative research. This normative research is a type of legal research that originates from a scientific research procedure whose aim is to find the truth based on legal objectives from a normative perspective. Article 12 of Law No. 12 of 2022 concerning Crimes of Sexual Violence has apparently not been able to ensnare PSK because there is no provision that regulates that the actions committed by PSK violate the provisions of the criminal law.

Prostitution is an eternal business throughout the history of human civilization. This activity has existed since the royal era until now. In terms of finance, the business of prostitution brings a huge turnover of money. Prostitute income per day is even higher than the applicable minimum wage in each district and city. This business continues to grow even though many countries prohibit prostitution. This study aims to examine regarding the causes and dimensions of violence in prostitution and the state's legal policy on prostitution. This research is a normative legal research that examines the possibility of legalizing or prohibiting prostitution. The research was conducted using statutory approaches, legal concepts and comparative law. The analysis was carried out qualitatively. The findings of this study are prostitution is influenced by educational, economic, social, legal and political factors. This activity can involve women, men, LGBT, both adults and children. However, the greatest involvements as the sex workers are women and children. Indonesia is a country that prohibits prostitution as regulated in Article 296 and 506 of the Criminal Code, as well as several other special provisions. To overcome prostitution, the Indonesian Government issued a number of policies to disband the red-light districts. There are countries in the world that prohibit prostitution like Indonesia, some allow it with strict restrictions, and some even allow state revenue from taxes.

Distorted and Victimized Lives of Women in Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid's Tale

This study intends to evaluate Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale from the viewpoint of feminist theorist Simone de Beauvoir's The Second Sex, which offers a more nuanced perspective on sexuality and gender. Beauvoir's philosophy centres on the societal systems of oppression that designate women as ‘Other’ to a male reputation. According to her, femininity is something that society imposes on women, and feminism cannot be reduced to a basic biological statement. According to her, ‘Other’ best reflects the primary social function of a woman. She disputes the vocabulary that defines women based on their biology and asserts that biology is the primary cause of women's subjugation in patriarchal societies. She believes that sexuality contributes to the subjugation and exploitation of women. According to Beauvoir, the prostitution business and the heterosexual lifestyle are the two most visible instances of women's exploitation. Clearly, she rejects the notion that heterosexuality is the norm in sexual encounters. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate how Atwood employs conjecture to examine feminist issues in The Handmaid's Tale, such as women's identity loss, subordination in a patriarchal society, and exploitation in a consumer culture where the female body is considered an object. In her novel, Atwood examines issues pertaining to the subjugation of women, such as gender inequality and the flaws of the patriarchal system.

『기생 및 창기에 관한 서류철』의 해제(解題)와 ‘일제 통감부의 공창제도 이식(移植)’에 관한 연구

This study analyzed and examined prostitute-related documents (from September to October 1908 and in March 1909) on the enactment preparation, issuance, enforcement, detailed regulation, report format, etc, of the second document type on 2) the Prostitute Regulation Law (Prostitution System) among four types of documents composing the records of Gisaeng and Changgi. Then, this study conducted a thorough analysis of the “prostitute-related documents” while maintaining academic objectivity and neutrality.
 First, the Prostitution System targeted the prostitutes involved in a prostitution business on the Korean Peninsula during the end of the Korean Empire Period. It was a Japanese-style prostitution system which was forcibly implemented by the Japanese colonial ruler. In fact, the Japanese Resident-General arranged all the related policies, enacted and announced related laws, laid down phased and detailed guidelines, and made the Japanese police officers manage and supervise the prostitutes.
 Second, the Korean Peninsula did not originally have a nationally authorized prostitution system. In September 25, 1908, right before the colonization of the Joseon Dynasty, the Japanese Resident-General implemented the firstever prostitution system for Korean prostitutes. In other words, the Records of Gisaeng and Prostitute are bitter records on process of how the Korean Peninsula, which strictly prohibited any prostitution involving money, was degraded into an immoral society in which people traded sex without any legal punishment.
 Third, the National Unified Prostitution Law was enacted in Japan on October 2nd, 1900. The Prostitution System, forcibly implemented on September 25, 1908 by the Japanese Resident-General, was the lighter edition of the National Unified Prostitution Law restructured based on the circumstances of the colonized countries, such as Taiwan.
 Finally, a correct understanding and new perception toward the Korean modern history of Gisaeng and prostitutes need to be formed by clearly distinguishing and understanding the concepts of Gisaeng Group as the artist group that inherited the tradition of female musicians and the prostitute group as a group who lived off of prostitution during The Korean Empire’s turning point of modernization.

For this reason, we will focus on the comedies of Plautus, representing the genre of the fabula palliata. By taking this documentation as a basis, one can analyse the role of prostitutes and procurers in his comedies, on whom we are given extensive information through humour. Despite possible exaggerations, the models used by the author allow us to approach the reality of that period (the end of the 3rd and the 2nd century BC).

Transformation of Prostitution Services and Stigma Against Prostitutes (WTS)

Advances in digital technology have encouraged prostitution service providers to transform from conventional prostitution to cyber prostitution by maximizing the use of information technology. This transformation also creates opportunities and threats for Prostitute Women (WTS) when they are active in the practice of the prostitution business. Although the vehicle for WTS practice has changed, the stigma against WTS continues to grow and is even more varied. This research explains comprehensively about the social environment of WTS; the growing stigma against WTS, the transformation of prostitution business services in the digital era, and how WTS's efforts to survive in the business. This article uses the literature review method. The results of this study found that in daily work activities, WTS often experience stigma and threats of violence from their surroundings and workplace. This stigma has resulted in the emergence of post-traumatic stress so that the mental health of WTS is disturbed and often feels afraid to face the surrounding environment. Another finding is that the transformation of prostitution services from conventional to cyber in fact does not reduce the stigma against WTS. Stigma against it is increasingly varied. Even so, WTS' drive to persist in cyber prostitution remains high. In fact, the work orientation of WTS in cyber prostitution is no longer just economic fulfillment, but to participate in the development of current trends. In order to survive in the transformed prostitution business, the social capital of WTS needs to be turned into a social security network for WTS to manage their stigma and minimize the threat of violence can naturally sustain cyber prostitution.

The sparkling of the city has attracted many people who come from various places in Indonesia and outside Indonesia who want to taste the sweetness of the sparkle of the city with all its spices like a laron approaching a torch which eventually destroys them. The condition of the child prostitution in Medan City has become apprehensive where many children aged 14-17 are involved in the prostitution business. Their involvement tends to be due to the factor of deception committed by collectors who work as collectors and suppliers of children to the prostitution places. This crime was committed in an organized manner as evidenced by the existence of syndicates that collaborated, ranging from child collectors and suppliers (collectors) and those who accommodate and employ children as the prostitutes (pimps / pimps), with recruitment areas covering malls, plazas, suburban areas, as well as other entertainment centers, which are generally the place where teenagers hang out.In conclusion, the factors that cause organized crime against the child prostitution in Medan are environmental factors (there is good interaction and communication between them, both those from the same environment and those from different environments), economic factors and unemployment and which is very dominant is the psychological factor. Representation of the Social Dynamics of Ex-Localization Communities in Doll’s Batik, Surabaya

Since the 1960s the largest prostitution area in Southeast Asia has been located in the Dolly-Jarak borough, Putat Jaya urban village, Sawahan sub-distict, Surabaya City, Indonesia. The Surabaya City Government officially declared the borough closed on June 18, 2014. Ending the prostitution business not only requires this closure but must be accompanied by an impactful and sustainable alternative professions for those involved. Training provided by the government includes making snacks, herbal drinks, crafts, fashion products, household products, sewing and batik. Since 2014, Batik SMEs (Small Medium Enterprises) have increased significantly owing to demand from housewives since UNESCO declared batik as Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity on October 2, 2009. Every region in Indonesia competes to produce unique batik motifs representing the identities of their respective communities. This includes the Dolly-Jarak village, Sawahan sub-distict, which has a unique motif. Since 2014 the butterfly motif with its various variants has dominated batik in the region of Dolly’s ex-localization. This research was conducted in February-July 2019 with the aim of finding out the meaning of Dolly’s unique batik motifs which became the visual dialectic of Dolly’s ex-localization residents with their social problems. Visual methodology (Gillian Rose) becomes the method of analysis, especially in the area “site of image it self“ and “the site of the production”. The researcher acts as an interpreter of the batik motifs based on the theory of design of visual communication. The visual sorting process produces meaning, which is analysed using Barthes’ semiotics and associated with the socio-cultural context in which batik is produced. This research produced (1) the symbolic meaning of the butterfly motif, (2) the symbolic meaning of the colors that dominated batik in the Dolly’s ex-localization, and (3) the butterfly as a symbol of hope and a better future for Dolly’s residents. Through this research, we can find out about the future hopes of Dolly“s village after the closure of the localization.

Efforts to Legalize the Prostitution Business and Its Relationship with Gender Equality Based on the Perspective of Normative Law and Economics in Indonesia

This article was created to provide a discussion that the legalization of the prostitution business cannot be legalized for the collective benefit of the community from a normative and economic perspective. The choice of the topic of this article is motivated by the author's personal awareness of normative issues in society. In addition, the researcher also tries to prove the consequences of this legalization on the discourse on gender equality and how the main problem of disparity between male-female competencies will not be resolved in this regard. Not only do we need to change the norms in society for this legalization to work, but also how fundamental changes to Indonesian law, such as the Marriage Law, are also needed and certainly require a lot of resources. Interesting discourse circulating in social circles regarding legalizing prostitution that prostitution is an immoral activity, or my body my choice, and claims that legalizing will create a better working environment for prostitutes are some of the elements of this article. Do not forget a study of the validity/absoluteness of a person's right to freedom to choose anything for himself.

Sexual exploitation and violence of prostituted children

This study examines sexual exploitation and violence against prostituted children in East Java, Indonesia. Children who are involved in the commercial sex industry are generally prone to become victims of exploitation, violent acts, and other child abuse. This case study employs a qualitative research method to examine the various hardships experienced by prostituted children in East Java, Indonesia. The researchers interviewed ten prostituted children, seven “grey chickens” (female high school students doubling as prostituted children), eight former prostituted children, five pimps, eight procurers, and seven male customers in Surabaya City and Pasuruan Regency. This study found that, in the Indonesian commercial sex industry, prostituted children generally experience severe exploitation and violent acts. The children’s struggle to survive in the Indonesian prostitution business is a challenging condition because of their weak bargaining position: their subordinate status in the Indonesian patriarchal ideology, their weak position as children confronting adults, as well as their low socioeconomic position. The efforts to make policies to prevent exploitation and violence against prostituted children by the government and non-government agencies thus should take into account the conditions of the prostituted children as well as the driving factors for the child prostitution business that takes place in Indonesia.

This research uses the approach of Criminal Law, Criminology, and Social Structure. The research method used is qualitative research, where the writer directly looks at existing social phenomena and seeks field facts through observation, interviews, and investigations. This research found that various factors become the background of the existence of the karaoke business under the guise of illegal prostitution in Central Java, ranging from economic and business factors to weak rules and law enforcement. The study also revealed the fact that the karaoke business secretly provided sex or prostitution services, but law enforcement was ineffective. One of the ineffectiveness of law enforcement is the problem of law enforcement apparatuses and bribery resources that occur within the law enforcement environment. In addition, this business also deals directly with business and economic investment holders.

Perempuan dan IMS : Perilaku Menjaga Personal Hygiene Organ Reproduksi pada Pekerja Seks Langsung di Indonesia

Background: The localization of prostitution in Jember District has been closed permanently since 2007. It causes the hidden prostitution business that has been increasing in the street or as indirect sex work. This condition makes the limited access to provide information, condoms and STDs screening among female sex workers (FSWs). Besides using condom, washing reproductive organs are often conducted to prevent STDs. This study aims to explore the behavior of FSWs in washing and lubricating reproductive organs. Method: This is a qualitative research which involved 12 FSWs in three areas of ex-localization in South Jember, 5 pims and health staffs. Data were collected through indepth-interviews and observation of work areas. Thematic content analysis was employed to identify themes and patterns of data. Results: The behavior of genital hygiene among FSWs to keep healthy was relatively categorized not good. Beside low consistent in condom use, most of them wash their vagina using traditional herbs or soap. They also often drink traditional herbs to prevent STDs. Lack of knowledge and support from the pimps and health staffs to use condom during sex made them vulnerable from STDs. Changing panties routinely and avoid anal sex were practiced among FSWs to have safe sex.
