Design and Implementation of Electronic Bus Stop Boards System Based on Wireless Communication Module

To the convenience of passenger travel, a kind of electronic bus stop boards system is discussed in this paper, which can be considered as intelligent equipment based on wireless communication technology. The combination between short-range wireless and long-distance communication module, together with the microcontroller composes the electronic bus stop boards system. The electronic bus stop boards system indicates the number of stations away from passengers’ station board on different nearest buses, current time and real-time humiture. The test results showed that the system could realize short-range and long-distance communication function and display the necessary information. With the advantages of high reliability and efficiency at low cost, the electronic bus stop boards system has more practical popularized value to replace traditional intelligent station boards with GPS and GPRS by cheap wireless communication module.

Study on PCI Bus and ISA Bus Conversion Design

At present there are still a large number of ISA bus boards in use. Providing an interface to the existing ISA products is a problem faced by the majority of developers and users. To resolve this problem, a PCI-to-ISA adapter is designed. It includes basic architecture design and adapter hardware circuit design. Thereinto hardware circuit design includes PCI bus interface circuit design, ISA bus interface circuit design and I/O detection module design. Then the serial EEPROM 93LC46B interface design and configuration is introduced. Finally, the I/O detection module and the device basd on the ISA interface are debugged. The debugging results and practice show that the design is feasible, reasonable and useful.

Design of Test System for one Type of Airborne Photoelectric Equipment Based on PC104 Bus

A certain type of airborne photoelectric equipment is the key device for aiming and distance measuring. On the basis of analyzing the test requirement of the equipment, a test system is designed with PC104 embedded computer as the core control system. The function of the test system is suggested. Hardware programs of power, bus board, signal conditioning circuit and anti-jamming measure are designed. The multithreading technology and measures to prevent wrong data communicating are applied to develop software of the test system. The test system can be applied to test and debug the photoelectric equipment. The data handling technology used in the test equipment has advantages as high speed, high efficiency and high reliability.

Analysis of the Relationship between Bus Board Customers' Purchasing Behavior and Business Decision Making

The paper establishes an Analytic Hierarchy model by applying the basic decision theory of AHP and carefully analyzing consideration factors of bus board customers. Regarding the scientificalness, feasibility, stability and efficiency as evaluation criterions, the model structures judgment matrixes and determines the important degree of each influencing factor with the help of hierarchical single arrangement. The paper provides a reference for the bus board enterprise's decision-making by making clear of main factors affecting its customers’ purchasing behavior.

A special-purpose computer for exploring similar protein sequences by the dynamic programming method

We built a special-purpose computer for exploring similar protein sequences by the dynamic programming method, BIOLER-1 (BIOLogical sequence explorER). It can compute a complete similarity between two protein sequences which have less than 1024 amino acids. We integrated the system on a PLD (Programmable Logic Device) chip, APEX EP20K300EQC240-1 (300,000 gates) by Altera corporation. It is mounted on the 32 bit PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) bus board which is connected to a personal computer. The performance is 3564 MIPS (Million Instructions Per Second) which is three times faster than a personal computer with Pentium4 at 1.8 GHz. BIOLER-1 showed us the effectiveness in the field of biological sequence analysis.

A software-based measurement system for testing and analysis of automotive brake squeal

A software-based measurement system using both analogue data acquisition and digital communication via a general-purpose interface bus (GPIB) board has been developed for analysis and evaluation of disc brake squeal. The system is built around a computer and based on commercial software. Brake pressure and torque, rotational speed, five different temperatures, and sound emission are logged once a second. If the sound is characterised as a squeal it is saved to file together with the other parameters. The measurement system is very flexible, allowing for different types of instruments and sensors to be used by adapting the software. Furthermore, the same software is used for evaluation of the collected data. Mechanically, the equipment consists of a complete front wheel suspension where the original brake disc and caliper are mounted in a steel tube chassis. The brake disc is driven by a DC electric motor, while a hydraulic system provides the brake pressure. Brake pressure and rotational speed can be controlled independently.

This paper describes optical fiber boards, small laser-diode (LD) and photo-diode (PD) modules for high-speed optical-bus backboards. The optical fiber board consists of embedded optical fibers in a printed circuit board. We evaluated the effect of curvature on optical loss for the embedded fiber to obtain the optimum design condition. The increase of optical loss is negligible in the condition of over 20 mm radius. The LD/PD modules are composed of a fiber holder and a receptacle with a can-type LD/PD. These modules have suitable structure for attaching to the fiber board with a minimal spare length of fiber in a small space. We measured the bit error rate between the LD and PD modules at 1 Gb/s, and confirmed that bit error rate of 1012 can be achieved with 16 channel bus boards.

A new digital signal processing technique for applications in nuclear spectroscopy

A multichannel pulse-height-analysis system based on digital signal processing techniques was developed and tested for nuclear spectroscopy. The system digitizes gaussian-shaped pulses with widths greater than 2 /spl mu/s. Input pulses are completely processed in real time on a single PC-AT bus board that replaces the standard analog pulse-height analyzer boards. Using a modified sliding-scale method, differential nonlinearity has been reduced to 1 to 2% for 4096 channels. A 30% increase in pulse throughput rate at 1 kHz has been achieved by reducing overall system dead time. Other potential advantages will be explored in future work.
