Effectiveness of Civic Political Literacy Through Collaboration Between Schools and NGOs in Makassar City

<span lang="IN">The low political literacy of citizenship is an urgency in building community participation, so real efforts are needed to increase public understanding and awareness of political issues. This study explores LAPAR SULSEL’s role in the civic political literacy program in Makassar City in providing information, implementing political education, and collaborating with other institutions to achieve program goals. This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative research methods. The results showed that LAPAR SULSEL has a significant role in increasing civic political literacy in Makassar City. They provide information through publications on social media, seminars, discussions, and training using educational and advocacy strategies to build public awareness</span><span lang="IN"> about political issues. In this research it can be concluded that through the provision of information and effective political education programs, LAPAR SULSEL has succeeded in helping people become more active and aware of their rights and obligations as citizens. Therefore, this study has positive implications for the development of civic political literacy by emulating the efforts of LAPAR SULSEL in providing information and conducting political education</span>

Building Community Participation in the Development of Warloka Pesisir Village as a Modern Fishing Village in West Manggarai

Community participation is essential in developing tourism villages because the potential of social and cultural diversity resources in the community is the primary driving force behind the activities in the tourism village. This research aims to analyze the stages and obstacles of community participation in the development of Warloka Pesisir Tourism Village. This research uses qualitative research with descriptive research type. Data were gathered using observation, interviews, focus group discussion impacts (FGDs), and documentation. The concept used to analyze the data is the concept of participation from Cohen and Uphoff. The results showed that based on the four types of participation, the Warloka Pesisir community has not yet reached an optimal level of participation in developing a tourism village. Participation in decision-making and benefit-taking shows that the community is passive in decision-making and tends only to follow the final decision. This has an impact on the community's lack of maximum benefits from the development of tourist villages. Some existing obstacles hinder participation and tourism development, so more attention must be paid to supporting community participation by updating infrastructure and developing skills with empowerment.

Government public relations strategy in the digital age: Social Media Influencer (SMI) collaboration in building community participation in Madiun Regency

The Madiun District Government held the Bulan Timbang Serentak as a step to identify and prevent stunting early on. There is a problem of low participation in the program so a more effective promotion strategy is needed. However, there is a problem of low participation in participating in the program so a more effective promotion strategy is needed. In this case, the public relations department of the Madiun District Government collaborated with social media influencers/SMIs to help the Bulan Timbang Serentak campaign. The purpose of this study is to describe the Madiun Regency Government's Public Relations Strategy in campaigning for Bulan Timbang Serentak with Influencers to build public participation. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study research type. The research data was collected by interviewing authorized officials in the Madiun District Government, namely Madiun District Government Public Relations and one of the SMI account owners with the highest engagement who collaborated in campaigning for the Bulan Timbang Serentak. To explore the strategy, the researcher used the Four Steps of Public Relations Theory (Cutlip et al., 2006). In general, the results showed that the Madiun District Government Public Relations applied the Four Steps of Public Relations in conducting its strategy.

KOMUNIKASI LINGKUNGAN: UPAYA MEWUJUDKAN ARBORETUM GAMBUT SEBAGAI EKOWISATA DI KABUPATEN BENGKALIS

The Peat Arboretum is one of the PT. Pertamina RU II, Sungai Pakning which is managed by the Kampung Jawa community group. This research was motivated by the discovery of land that was saved from peatland fires around Kampung Jawa in the 2013-2015. Basically, the people of Kampung Jawa are people with low education and lack of public awareness of environmental sustainability as an edutourism area. Therefore, this research aims at how PT. Pertamina RU II Sungai Pakning through its CSR activities communicated in building community participation to realize the Marsawa Peat Arboretum as ecotourism in Bengkalis Regency. In this study using qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. research subjects were determined based on purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the environmental communication carried out by PT Pertamina in the CSR program in realizing the Peat Arboretum as ecotourism is carried out through several stages, namely assessment, planning, production and action and reflection. Of the four, community participation in realizing the Peat Arboretum as ecotourism in Bengkalis Regency has been effective, this can be seen from the voluntary community involvement in programs that lead to social change. The four stages are educational, solution and comprehensive efforts in realizing the Peat Arboretrum as Ecotourism in Bengkalis Regency.
 

Kekuasaan dan Kewenangan Kyai Desa (Analisis Pengaruh Kyai Desa dalam Pengelolaan Pendidikan Nonformal di Madura)

The purpose of this study is to determine the power and authority of village clerics in building community participation in the village, both in terms of academics, socio-economics, religion, and so on. This study discusses the power and authority of village clerics who have an important role in inviting, influencing, guiding, and creating a good civilization in a village. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological type. A qualitative approach is used to reveal the meaning behind an undertstanding of meaning action, where this study describes and depicts a phenomenon as it is without any data manipulation in it. The data collection technique for this study uses a deep interview technique, namely by asking questions to the resource person about a topic raised, deep interviews are not only conducted face-to-face, but can also be done via telephone or video call. Deep interviews are conducted when we want to know what each individual respondent thinks to get in-depth information. Based on this study, it can be concluded that the power and authority of village clerics can be determined from the power and type of traditional authority and charismatic authority that is built and educated in the village cleric. In the traditional authority type, it appears because of the paternalistic culture among the Madurese community. The paternalistic culture in Madura is established between the Kyai and the santri as is the relationship between a father and a child, where a village Kyai has the status of a protector, teacher, and father. Likewise in the charismatic type, the authority and power possessed by the village Kyai in Madura also appears because of the charisma inherent in the village Kyai. This charisma is caused by the behavior, nature, and competence possessed by the village Kyai. Among the behavior, nature, and competence possessed by the village Kyai.

STRATEGI POLITIK DALAM PENGENTASAN DESA TERTINGGAL

The village development program run by the government in reducing poverty in rural areas, in its implementation, especially for all parties, is still in doubt. The village categories based on the Highly Underdeveloped Village Index (IDM) and Disadvantaged Villages show a correlation with the condition of the poor population in these village categories. For this reason, demands for a joint political strategy between the government and the community are urgently needed, related to strengthening decentralization, changing the role of the local bureaucracy and building community participation in efforts to alleviate underdeveloped villages or poor villages in order to contribute to reducing poverty in rural areas. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach with a purposeito make a charmisystematically,ifactual andiaccurate factsiand population traitsior certain areas. The results of the research show that on the Village Government service side it is still not on target, programs that should be for the poor are also enjoyed by the rich. So that the poor do not develop and do not increase their standard of living, this causes the village to still be in the category of underdeveloped villages, even very underdeveloped.

Management of Local Community-Based Tourism in West Sekotong Village – West Lombok Regency

The concept of CBT (community base tourism) in the management of a tourism object is a rational choice and answer to various weaknesses with the G + B (government and business world) approach. In CBT's view, management is also carried out by the local community/local community, so the pattern becomes G+B+C. This study aims to describe forms of tourism management by local communities, and their relationship with G+B. Besides that, the research seeks to explore the operationalization of one aspect of Sapta Pesona into programs/activities that have been carried out by the local community. The research location is in West Sekotong Village, West Lombok Regency, with key informants as respondents. The survey was also conducted on domestic tourists to get their opinion in the form of an assessment of the implementation of the Cleanliness Program, and as feedback (feed back) on the CBT management model. Full data analysis using qualitative data. The participation of the private sector. Important indicators in the CBT model are decision-making costs (DMC) and financing of the use of local human resources (utilization of human resource cost, UHRC) in building community participation. Based on a survey of domestic tourists on the Cleaning Program (from Sapta Pesona) in Sekotong Barat Village, it was shown that in general they thought the program was 2839relatively good, with a score of 4.104 from the range 1 (=very bad) – 5 (=very good).

Building Community Participation through Participatory Oversight in the 2024 Simultaneous Elections

Democratic elections require public involvement in all stages of the electoral process, including election monitoring itself. This community service project is carried out with the aim of helping novice voters understand the importance of participatory supervisors in the simultaneous elections of South Buton Regency in 2024. The answer to the occurrence of election violations is the existence of participatory supervisors, which will be able to assist and facilitate the task of supervisory institutions in supervising sustainable democratic participants, this is done for the sake of creating honest, fair, clean and integrity elections. Then Bawaslu must provide thorough training and direction to participatory supervisors so that they know and fully understand their duties and obligations in overseeing the democratic party. After this service activity is carried out, the output objectives to be achieved are patterns of knowledge and awareness of the relevance of participatory supervision in the 2024 simultaneous elections in the South Buton region. This activity was carried out through socialization, therapy, and questions and answers. The result of this community service activity is the existence of participatory supervisors in the elections in South Buton district, which will provide awareness for political actors, election organizers, and stakeholders to take care of themselves, maintain the spirit of their parties to stay on the rails according to their respective portions, so as to produce post-conflict elections that are honest, fair, and have integrity both in terms of process and results.

Leadership style is a leader's behavior that is used by someone when they want to influence the people they lead. The potential that exists in District, Pesawaran Regency is very large, but the utilization of all existing potentials is still not optimal in its empowerment. The village head's leadership style determines how to optimize the empowerment of the potentials that exist in the village. This is what makes researchers interested in choosing Sukaraja Village as a research location. The purpose of this study was to find out the leadership style of the village head in building community participation in infrastructure development in District, Pesawaran Regency in 2020. The research method used by researchers was qualitative research. The techniques used in collecting data by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used is interactive model analysis which includes data reduction, data presentation and verification. He results of the research and discussion of the village head's leadership style in building community participation in District, Pesawaran Regency in 2020 can be concluded as follows: (1) The village head has a Laissez Faire leadership style. (2) The village head uses the concept of interpersonal roles and informational to build community participation. (3) The output of the village head's leadership style in building community participation in his village, is that the potential of natural resources is managed and the potential for human resources is quite good but not optimal. Human Beings and Safety: The Role of Community Safety Structures in the Fight Against Crime, Msinga Local Municipality, Dundee, South Africa

This article analyzes the significant role played by community safety structures in Msinga Local Municipality. The motivation behind this study was based on safety within the selected community, considering the increase in violent crimes there. It is rooted in the National Developmental Plan (NDP) of attempting to build safer communities by 2030, by building community participation in community safety. In ensuring that the aim of this study was achieved, a mixed method research design was used, which assisted the researcher to focus on both contesting the existence of community safety structures and exploring their significance in Msinga Local Municipality. Overall, the finding of this study revealed that community safety structures play a vital role in preventing crime within Msinga Local Municipality.

Abstract: West Sumatra, which in the Minangkabau tradition, land is a high heirloom property that must beprotected and cannot be sold or misused. The belief that was found was the existence of tribal ties betweenlandowners, secondly because of shared experience in solving problems, third because of the role of communityleaders, in this case the customary mamak with the title Datuak, fourth because of the certainty of compensationprices that did not harm the community or government, fifth because there is a guarantee of honesty andopenness from related parties including community leaders who will protect the rights of the Sikabu communityand do not allow additional land by parties who are not responsible for their personal interests. Networks cancreate trust between the characters involved. The norms found in the Sikabu community are the custom ofsalingka nagari and the function of the tigo sajarangan stove which can play its role well.

Approaches for building community participation: A qualitative case study of Canadian food security programs.

There is increasing opportunity and support for occupational therapists to expand their scope of practice in community settings. However, evidence is needed to increase occupational therapists' knowledge, confidence, and capacity with building community participation and adopting community-centered practice roles. The purpose of this study is to improve occupational therapists' understanding of an approach to building community participation, through case study of a network of Canadian food security programs. Qualitative case study was utilized. Data were semistructured interviews, field observations, documents, and online social media. Thematic analysis was used to identify and describe four themes that relate to processes used to build community participation. The four themes were use of multiple methods, good leaders are fundamental, growing participation via social media, and leveraging outcomes. Occupational therapists can utilize an approach for building community participation that incorporates resource mobilization. Challenges of sustainability and social exclusion must be addressed.

The Forum for Defence of the Brazilian Unified Health System (Sistema Único de Saúde) and its role in building community participation in the fight against the privatization of health.

Based on a Foucauldian framework, this article discusses the involvement of the Forum for Defence of the Sistema Único de Saúde in the fight against health care privatization. Community participation is a locus of experience that produces subjects implicated in the production of public health care. The locus of experience in this instance derives from the rejection of private elements that historically have been part of Brazilian public policies. It is an experience that produces workers and service users as agents able to defend the public system and endowed with instituting power.

Local History Centres in Tasmania: Citizenship Hubs of Vitality

In terms of their wider civic role as praxis, small regional and rural cultural institutions tend to feature less prominently than large national urban institutions. This paper explores the citizenship contribution and future role of local history centres in the Australian state of Tasmania as informal sites of education and contributors to community engagement. The qualitative study on which the paper is based investigated two rural/regional Tasmanian history centres through a multi-layered research process. Data analysis allowed for many layers and dimensions of meaning and significance. Data were analysed using thematic coding, along with a constructivist approach to Grounded Theory. Findings indicated each of the centres had varied and extensive roles in building community participation and cohesion. Members and volunteers were involved in a citizenship of participation as well as civic engagement, as is valued in Australia school curricula. Notably, community contributions were multidimensional. Networks within the locality and at a distance were fostered to sustain and encourage community engagement based on a groundswell of interest in the past as a means of building future ties and practice.

Social Capital and Community Group Participation: Examining ‘Bridging’ and ‘Bonding’ in the Context of a Healthy Living Centre in the UK

ABSTRACTSocial capital has been widely advocated as a way of understanding and building community participation in the interest of health improvement. However, the concept as proposed by Putnam, has been criticised for presenting an overly romanticised account of complex community relations. This paper presents analysis from a qualitative evaluation of a Healthy Living Centre (HLC) in the North of England, to examine the utility of the concept of social capital in this context. We found the concepts of ‘bridging’ and ‘bonding’ social capital were useful – though not without limitations – in helping to make sense of the complexities and contradictions in participants’ experiences of community group participation. 'Bridging' helped provide an understanding of how the decline in shared social spaces such as local shops impacts on social relationships. 'Bonding' highlighted how community group membership can have positive and negative implications for individuals and the wider community. It was found that skilled group leadership was key to strengthening bridging capital. Politically, in the UK, community participation is seen as having an essential role in social change, for example, its centrality to the coalition government's idea of the ‘Big Society’. A micro‐examination of this HLC using the lens of social capital provides a valuable critical insight into community participation. It shows that this kind of initiative can be successful in building social capital, given conditions such as an appropriate setting and effective leadership. However, they cannot substitute for other kinds of investment in the physical infrastructure of a community. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Building community participation in health care: a model and example from South Africa.

A conceptual model was developed for a community-based intervention study in a Black township in South Africa. The model shows a useful way to structure the complex role public health nurses play as they meet community health needs using a community's priorities and building toward community involvement in health and self-care. The model was applied over a 2-year period in an under-developed community of 100,00 people where the unemployment rate was over 50%, fewer than 10% of the homes had electricity, and only one-third had access to the sewage removal system. Over half of older adults interviewed were illiterate. The residents, in collaboration with the nurse researcher, gathered data, prioritized needs, and chose projects to produce solutions. The model guided activities for community empowerment through a deliberate transfer of information and expertise from the nurse to members of the community. Conceptual models or paradigms are useful to focus nursing strategies, to guide professional nursing practice, and to support interdisciplinary goals for cooperative efforts. The principles are also applicable in the United States and other developed countries as more effective ways to achieve health goals are sought.
