Intelligence in the People's Republic of China

Data are reported for intelligence of children in China assessed by the Combined Raven's Test in 1988, 1996 and 2006. The IQ of the samples increased by 15.0 IQ points over 18-year period. The British IQ of China in 1988 and 2006 is estimated as 94.8 and 109.8, respectively.

A Study of Intelligence in Tajikistan

The Standard Progressive Matrices Plus (SPM+) was administered in Tajikistan in 2016 to a sample of 674 13- to 15-year-olds. This is the first study reporting cognitive test results from this country. The mean British IQ of the sample was 88, which is comparable to results of similar studies in other countries of Central Asia. There were virtually no sex differences.

Sex differences in the intelligence of students at an Egyptian university

Results are reported for intelligence assessed with the Advanced Progressive Matrices of a sample of 1502 students at an Egyptian university. The men obtained a British IQ of 103.8 and the women a British IQ of 101.0. The men students had greater variability than the women students.

Sex Differences in High School Students on Raven’s Advanced Progressive Matrices in Yemen

The Advanced Progressive Matrices (APM), combined sets 1 and 2, was administered to a sample of 503 male and 524 female high school students aged 16 to 18 years in Yemen. The male students obtained a higher IQ score than the female students by 0.9 IQ points, not statistically significant. The mean score of the sample was 21.6 and is equivalent to a British IQ of 93. Sex Differences in the Intelligence of University Engineering Students in Sudan

The intelligence of 1936 engineering students in three universities in Sudan was tested with the Advanced Progressive Matrices. The sample obtained an average British IQ of 93. A study of sex differences in the intelligence of university students in Thailand tested with the Advanced Progressive Matrices found that men obtained a slightly higher score than women by .08d equivalent to 1.2 IQ points. A Study of Sex Differences in Intelligence in Egypt

Results are reported for the intelligence of a sample of 722 10 to 18 year olds in Egypt assessed with the Standard Progressive Matrices. Males obtained significantly higher scores than females at the ages of 16 and 17-18 years, supporting the developmental theory of Lynn that males develop a higher average IQ than females from the age of 16 years into adulthood. Sex Differences in the Intelligence of Students at Alexandria University, Egypt

Results are reported for intelligence assessed with the Standard Progressive Matrices Plus of a sample of 423 students at Alexandria University in Egypt. The men obtained a British IQ of 104 and the women a British IQ of 92, suggesting that the intelligence of university students in Egypt increased in recent years. THREE STUDIES OF THE STANDARD PROGRESSIVE MATRICES IN MOROCCO (.).

Results are given for three studies of samples tested with the Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM) in Morocco. The first consisted of 85 children (boys, girls; M age = 8.5 yr.) in the town of Kenitra and obtained a British IQ of 74. The second consisted of 202 adults (92 men, 110 women; M age = 26 yr.) in four cities and obtained a British IQ of 81. The third consisted of 1,177 secondary school children (723 boys, 454 girls; ages 12-17 yr.) in a rural area and obtained a British IQ of 73.3. It is proposed that the best estimate of the Moroccan IQ can be obtained as the average of the three results, giving an IQ of 76.

A Standardization of the Standard Progressive Matrices in Egypt

Results are reported for intelligence in Egypt assessed with the Standard Progressive Matrices on a sample of 7,600 aged 6.0 to 20 plus years. The sample obtained a British IQ of 89.25.

Regional differences in intelligence in Sudan

Data are presented for intelligence in Sudan assessed by the Performance subtests of the WISC 111. The Sudan sample was tested in 2010 and consisted of 1460 school students aged 7 to 16years. The sample obtained a British IQ of 77.4. The British IQs declined with age shown by a statistically significant Spearman rank correlation between age and IQ of −.796 (p<.01). Data are also presented for intelligence in seven regions of Sudan but not including the region of South Sudan that became independent of Sudan in 2011. The regional data showed that the IQ was significantly lower in the most southerly region of Darfur at an IQ of 64.1 than in the six more northerly regions. There was a trend for a north–south gradient of IQ across the seven regions shown by a correlation of .51 between the regional IQs and latitude, although this is not statistically significant.

A Study of the Colored Progressive Matrices in Kuwait

The Colored Progressive Matrices was standardized in Kuwait in 1985 on a sample of 2,000 children aged 6.5 to 10.5 years. The sample obtained a British IQ of 92. Results show a decline in performance with increasing age. Key Words: Kuwait, Colored Progressive Matrices, intelligence.

Results are reported for intelligence in Egypt assessed with the Standard Progressive Matrices. This is one of the largest test standardizations in Egypt, with a sample of 7600 subjects aged 6 to 20 plus years. The sample obtained a British IQ of 89.25. The results are discussed in the context of other work about intelligence in Egypt.

A Study of Means and Sex Differences on Raven’s Standard Progressive Matrices Plus in Yemen

Yemen is one of the economically least developed countries in the Middle East, but information about intelligence in this country has been conflicting. In a recent study, the Standard Progressive Matrices-Plus was administered to a sample of 2012 6-13 year olds in a province of Yemen. The sample obtained a British IQ of 68.5. Girls obtained significantly higher average scores than boys at the ages of 7 and 10, and boys obtained a significantly higher average score than girls at age 13.

The Intelligence of the Evenk/Tungus of the Russian Far East

A sample of 28 Evenk/Tungus village children in the Russian Far East was tested with the Standard Progressive Matrices Plus and obtained a British IQ of 80. A sample of 13 ethnic Russian children growing up under similar conditions was tested with the same method and obtained a British IQ of 85. The results suggest that cognitive development of both groups is impeded by the isolated conditions under which the children in these villages grow up. A Standardization of the Colored Progressive Matrices in Tripoli, Libya

Results are reported for a standardization of the Colored Progressive Matrices on a sample of 2481 children aged 8.5 to 12.5 years in Tripoli. The sample obtained a British IQ of 82.5. The result is placed in the context of other studies using cognitive tests in Libya. The average of those studies that used population-representative samples is 77. The results are discussed in the context of social and political conditions in Libya.

Norms for the Standard Progressive Matrices in the Gaza Strip

The Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM) was standardized in the Gaza Strip in 2012-13 on a sample of 1677 boys and 1818 girls aged 8 to 18 years. The sample obtained a British IQ of 67.9. The result is discussed in the context of living conditions in Gaza.

A Study of the IQ in Sudan

The Coloured Progressive Matrices (CPM) was standardized in Sudan in 2004 on a sample of 1683 6-9 year olds. The sample obtained a British IQ of 78.

A study of intelligence in Oman.

There have been two studies of the Coloured Progressive Matrices and the Standard Progressive Matrices in Oman, giving British IQs of 87 and 81, respectively. The present paper reports results for the Advanced Progressive Matrices to ascertain how far these are consistent with the previous studies. The Advanced Progressive Matrices was standardized in Oman in 2009-10 on a sample of 2,467 Grade 11 and 12 students (M age = 17.13 yr., SD = 1.01, range = 16-18). The sample obtained a mean score of 12.2, equivalent to a British IQ of 88, consistent with the results of the two previous studies.

A study of intelligence in Jordan .

The Raven's Standard Progressive Matrices test was standardized in Jordan in 2004 on a sample of 1,015 school students ages 12 to 17 yr. The sample obtained a British IQ of 82.6.
