Combined Anti-Diabetic and Wound Healing Effects of Binahung Leaf (Basella rubra L.) and Snakehead Fish (Channa striata) Extracts in Alloxan-Induced High-Fat Diet Rats

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease that continues to increase in the world. Lifestyle factors cause diabetes cases to increase uncontrollably. The development of medicines based on natural ingredients has become a subject of study for researchers throughout the world. Meanwhile, binahong leaf extract contains flavonoids and saponins, which can reduce the absorption of glucose. Snakehead fish extract containing albumin also influences the reduction of diabetic wounds. The combination of binahong and snakehead fish extract is expected to synergistically lower blood glucose levels and cure diabetic wounds. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the anti-diabetic and wound healing activity resulting from the combination of binahong leaf and snakehead fish extract in rat models of diabetes induced with alloxan and fat diet. The test animals were divided into six groups with five per group, namely normal, positive, and negative control, as well as dose 1 (snakehead fish 250 mg/kg and binahong extract 100 mg/kg), dose 2 (snakehead fish 250 mg/kg and binahong extract 300 mg/kg), and a single dose of snakehead fish extract 500 mg/kg. The experiment was conducted for 21 days by administering the test solution once a day. The results showed that administering a combination of binahong extract at a dose of 100 mg/kg and snakehead fish at a dose of 500 mg/kg significantly reduced blood glucose levels in diabetic rats (p≤0.05). Treatment using a combination of the two extracts was more effective in lowering blood sugar levels compared to a single dose of snakehead fish extract.

Ekstrak Etanol Daun Binahong (Anredera cordifolia) di Berbagai Tingkat Konsentrasi terhadap Bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Burns can cause infection, hinder healing, and increase the risk of long-term complications. Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa often infect burn wounds in general, infections are treated with antibiotics, but continued use of antibiotics can cause bacterial resistance. Binahong leaves (Anredera cordifolia) have potential as a substitute for antibiotics because of their antibacterial properties from active compounds such as alkaloids, polyphenols, tannins, saponins and ascorbic acid. This research aims to activate the antibacterial ability of binahong leaf ethanol extract against S. aureus and P. aeruginosa. This research uses an experimental method with a control group design using diffusion and dilution methods at varying concentrations. Statistical analysis of the inhibition zone showed that there was a significance difference of <0.05 between treatment groups. In the solid diluted method, S. aureus obtained an MIC value of 10.5% and a MBC of 11.5%, whereas P. aeruginosa had an MIC of 14.5% and a MBC of 15%. The results showed that the ethanol extract of binahong leaves was more sensitive to S. aureus than P. aeruginosa.

FORMULATION OF BINAHONG LEAVES (ANREDERA CORDIFOLIA) EXTRACT NANOPARTICLE AND EVALUATION OF IN VIVO ANTIDIABETIC ACTIVITY

Objective: Binahong leaves (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) is an herbal plant that is most commonly used to cure various types of diseases in Indonesia, including diabetes. The objective of this study was to conduct a comparative analysis of the antidiabetic activities between binahong leaves extract and binahong leaves extract nanoparticles. Methods: Nanoparticle formulation was carried out using chitosan and sodium alginate polymers as crosslinkers. DDY strain mice with 70% ethanol extract of binahong leaves as test material Binahong leaf extract was tested on alloxan-induced diabetic mice at a dose of 200 mg/kgBW intraperitoneally. The dose of binahong extract used was 200 mg/kgBB and 200 mg/kgBB of chitosan-sodium alginate nanoparticles orally for 14 ds. Results: Obtained extract nanoparticle met the specification, with average sizes of 192.7 nm, zeta potential of+25.3 mV. Extract nanoparticle with a dose equivalent to 200 mg/kgBB binahong leaf extract can reduce blood glucose levels in mice induced by alloxan was better than binahong leaf extract at a dose 200 mg/kgBW with respective percent reduction in blood glucose levels are 45.89% and 33.38%. Conclusion: The formulated extract nanoparticle can enhance the antidiabetic activity of binahong leaves extract.

Dental plaque is a soft deposit that adheres tightly to the surface of the teeth, consisting of icroorganisms that multiply in an intercellular matrix if a person neglects dental and oral hygiene. Anredera cordifolia (Ten) Steenis or commonly known as binahong or gondola is a creeping plant that is perennial (long-lived). The benefits of the binahong leaf plant are enormous in the world of medicine, empirically binahong can cure various types of diseases. In medicine, the part of the plant used can come from the leaves. Research using boiled leaves has found many ingredients, which were stated by (Setiaji, 2009) that flavonoids have various effects, namely analgesic, anti-inflammatory and as a vasolidator. The aim of this research was to determine the effectiveness of gargling binahong leaf solution on plaque index. This type of research is True Experiment research with a "one group pre-post test" design, conducted in June located at SD Negeri 21 Manado, Manado City. The total population of class III and IV students was 50 respondents with a total research sample population based on the inclusion criteria of 34 respondents. The instruments that will be used in this research are dental examination tools in the form of diagnostic sets, disclosing agents, personal protective equipment, plaque examination formats, mouthwash cups and precision digital scales. The data obtained was tabulated and analyzed using paired sample t-test. Based on the results of the Paired sample t test showing that there is a significant difference seen from the value of P = 0.000 (P<0.005), it can be concluded that H1: rinsing the mouth with binahong leaf solution is effective on the accepted plaque index.

Phytochemical Screening, Antioxidant and Antifungal Activity Test of Binahong Leaf Extract (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis)

Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis (Binahong) is a medicinal plant that has been used by the indigenous Indonesian community to treat various ailments including surgical wounds, stomach ulcers, and skin problems such as itching and sores. Candida albicans is the most important species responsible for infections in patients with immunological problems associated with invasive fungal diseases. The resistance of Candida species to antifungal drugs has made scientists pay more attention to traditional herbal medicine. Binahong contains secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, flavonoids, polyphenols, saponins, steroids and triterpenoids which have antioxidative and antimicrobial activity. This research was conducted to determine the compounds contained in binahong leaf extract using the Harborne method, determine the antioxidant power of binahong leaf extract through DPPH assay, and its antifungal activity using the Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method against Candida albicans. The results of the phytochemical screening confirmed that ethanol extract of binahong leaves contains flavonoids, tannins, saponins and steroid compounds. Meanwhile, methanol extract of binahong leaves contains saponin and steroid compounds. The antioxidant test using the DPPH method showed that ethanol and methanol binahong leaf extracts had weak antioxidant activity, with IC50 values of 370.26 ppm for ethanol extract and 318.85 ppm for methanol extract. Both the ethanol and methanol extracts displayed significant anfungal activity against Candida albicans, with extract concentration as low as 6.25%. With the results obtained, it is suggested that ethanol and methanol extracts can be used as antioxidants and antifungals.

The Effect of Binahong Leaf (Anredera Cordifolia) on Hemoglobin Levels in Anemic Pregnant in the Coastal Area of North Konawe District

Binahong leaves (Anredera cordifolia) in several regions in Indonesia are known as gandola which is usually used as a hedge plant. Binahong is believed to be an herbal plant that can bring health benefits. All parts of this plant such as roots, stems and leaves can be used in herbal medicine. One of the nutrients contained in binahong leaves is iron, namely in 100 grams there is 0.4 grams of iron. The research aims to determine the effect of giving decoction of Binahong leaves to pregnant women who experience anemia in the Coastal Area of North Konawe Regency. The results of this research are that giving binahong (Anredera cordifolia) decoction shows that there is a difference in the Hb levels of pregnant women between before and after being given binahong leaves (intervention group).

The Effect of Binahong Leaf Extract on Reducing Cholesterol and Histopathological Features in the Liver

Being overweight or obese raises your risk of elevated cholesterol, triglycerides, and fatty liver. The liver is crucial to metabolic regulation. Essential to preserve liver health. Maintaining your diet, exercising, and eating antioxidants are all options. Many plants contain antioxidants, like Binahong (Anredera cordifolia). This study examines how Binahong leaf extract reduces cholesterol and improves liver function in high-fat-fed Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) and their liver histology. An actual experiment or laboratory experimental study is quantitative. 24 Wistar rats were sampled. Binahong leaf extract was the independent variable, cholesterol levels liver histological features were the dependent variable, and a high-fat diet was the precondition. The test animals were put into four groups: control, groups 2, 3, and 4 with Binahong leaf extract at 30mg/BW, 50mg/BW, and 70mg/BW. SPSS normality, homogeneity, and ANOVA tests. If p > 0.05, research results are generally distributed with 0.200 significance. Significant homogeneity was 0.176 > 0.05. Effective One-Way ANOVA test results (0.000 or <0.05). Post Hoc LSD test analysis yielded important values of 0.000.0001 and 0.024 < 0.05. The phytochemical test found flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, steroids, and tannins in Binahong leaf extract. Binahong leaf extract at 70 mg/BW reduced cholesterol, body weight, and LDL in hypercholesterolemic male white mice best. The study found that Binahong leaf extract's secondary metabolites—flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, steroids, and tannins—reduce cholesterol, LDL, and body weight in Wistar strain white rats (Rattus Norvegicus) with hypercholesterolemia.

The Effectiveness of Giving Binahong (Anredera cordifolia) Leaf Extract on Granulation Tissue Thickness in Healing White Rat (Rattus novergicus) Cut Wounds

Wounds result in loss of epithelial continuity with or without loss of underlying connective tissue. The dynamic and complex wound-healing process restores tissue integrity and balance. Medicinal plants in herbal medicine, namely Binahong, help heal wounds. This study tested binahong (Anredera cardifolia) leaf extract ointment on the thickness of granulation tissue in white rat (Rattus novergicus) incision wounds. Binahong leaf extract was applied at 15%, 25%, and 35%, then the wound was examined macroscopically and histopathologically. The type of research was a true experiment with a sample of 24 male Wistar rats, six per group, in four groups (control, treatment 1, treatment 2, treatment 3). The histopathological image of granulation tissue thickness shows that the P0 group (blue) has less collagen density. Treatment group 3 (P3) with 35% binahong leaf extract showed thick collagen. Analysis of the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and significant paired t-test values greater than p>0.05 for all groups. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test shows that the data is regularly distributed. Paired T-test showed significant differences in incision wound healing between groups (p-value <0.05). The research concludes that binahong leaf extract has antiseptic, antibacterial, and ascorbic acid properties and protects against oxidation, so it is helpful for wound healing.

UJI SPF (Sun Protaction Factor) KRIM EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN BINAHONG (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) SECARA IN VITRO DAN IN VIVO PADA KULIT PUNGGUNG KELINCI

The harmful effects caused by solar UV radiation cause sunburn. Using sunscreen is one way to protect the skin from the harmful effects of UV rays. Binahong leaves (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) have alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, steroids, and terpenoids which are helpful as sunscreens. This study aims to determine whether the extract and cream formula of binahong leaves has the potential as sunscreen in vitro and in vivo and the SPF, Tp(%), Te(%), and MED values. Binahong leaf extract was macerated with 96% ethanol. The SPF test uses a UV-VIS spectrophotometer with a 290-320 nm wavelength. Results were analyzed using ANOVA. They made sunscreen using various concentrations of binahong leaf ethanol extract 0.85, 0.95, and 1%. Sunscreen was tested in vitro and in vivo on rabbit test animals. The in vitro test results of the binahong leaf extract yield an SPF value of 45.7 ± 1.76 (ultra protection), Tp (%) of 10.39 ± 1.14 (fast tanning), and Te (%) of 15.49 ±1.74 (sunblock), in vivo, the extract has a MED value of 0 and FIII (1%) cream of binahong leaf extract is the best preparation because it has physical quality that meets the requirements, with an SPF value of 43.8 ± 1.88 (ultra protection), Te (%) was 18.96 ± 1.04, and Tp (%) was 28.00 ± 1.65, in vivo the extract had a MED value of 0.

The Potential of Binahong Leaves Extract Nanogel for Alveolar Bone Healing

Alveolar bone defects pose a significant challenge in dental and oral health, requiring the exploration of novel therapeutic approaches for effective bone healing. The binahong (Anredera cordifolia) leaves are known for their rich bioactive compounds with diverse therapeutic properties, while nanogels, a drug delivery system, offer advantages such as controlled release and enhanced bioavailability. This review explores the potential of binahong leaf extract nanogel as a promising candidate for alveolar bone healing by discussing its preparation, characterization, and properties. Furthermore, it delves into the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying alveolar bone healing. Based on our review, the effects of binahong leaves extract on bone cells and animal models indicate its therapeutic potential in alveolar bone healing by increasing the expression of growth factors and cells that are essential in bone healing. This review suggests that binahong leaves extract nanogel holds promise as a novel therapeutic intervention for alveolar bone healing. Further research and clinical studies are warranted to fully explore its potential.

The anti-obesity properties of Anredera cordifolia leaf extract in rats fed a high-fat diet through inhibition of adipogenesis.

Various disease complications are a risk of overweight or obesity, so losing weight can reduce the risk of diseases caused by obesity. Binahong leaf ethanol extract (Anredera cordifolia) is a weight-loss herbal preparation. This study aims to analyze whether A. cordifolia extract is effective in losing weight by affecting the mechanism of adipogenesis in an animal obesity model. Animals were grouped into six groups as follows: the normal diet (K1), the negative control group (K2), the positive control group with Orlistat at a dose of 20 mg/kg BW (K3), an ethanol extract of A. cordifolia leaves at doses of 50 mg/kg BW (P1), 100 mg/kg BW group (P2), and 150 mg/kg BW (P3). All rats were fed a diet that consisted of high fat for eight weeks, except K1. Afterward, the treatments were given based on group distribution. Then, the rats were treated based on their groups for 4 weeks, and the high-fat diet was still given during the treatment for the control groups (K2). Anthropometric examinations such as body weight, length, and the circumference of the abdomen were measured. Metabolic parameters, including blood glucose, cholesterol levels, triglyceride levels, and abdominal fat weight, were measured using molecular parameters that measured PI3K levels and Extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) in abdominal fat tissue samples using the ELISA method. ERK levels of abdominal fat were lowered in the treatment group using the extract of A. cordifolia (50 mg/kg BW (P1) and 100 mg/kg BW (P2)) compared to the control group that was given a high-fat diet without treatment. The control group, which was fed a high-fat diet without treatment, had an average ERK level of 10.17 ± 2.98 ng/ml, P1 (50 mg/kg BW). Furthermore, when ethanol extracts were used as opposed to the control group, which received a high-fat diet without treatment, there was an increase in phosphoinositide three-kinase (PI3K) levels (K2). The control group received 9.35 ± 2.87 ng/ml, the treatment group received 100 mg/kg BW (P2) 9.48 ± 1.54 ng/ml, and the treatment group received 150 mg/kg BW (P3) 7.87 ± 1.79 ng/ml. The weight of fat in the abdomen differed between the groups that received a high-fat diet without treatment (K2) and those that received a high-fat diet with treatment (P1, P2, P3; p < 0.05). Anredera cordifolia extract possesses anti-obesity activities by decreasing ERK and increasing PI3K levels, as well as reducing abdominal fat weight.

Antioxidant Gel from Brown Algae (Ascophyllum nodosum) and Binahong Leaves for Diabetic Wound Healing

Background: Diabetic wounds are difficult to treat, causing persistent infections and often leading to limb amputation. One convenient way to manage diabetic wounds is by applying wound dressings. This study aimed to develop a wound dressing in form of a gel containing brown algae and binahong leaf extract for diabetic wound dressings.Methods: This study was an experimental study conducted in the Organic Chemistry Laboratory of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia from June to September 2022. As many as 33 mice induced by alloxan were divided into 9 groups consisting of application of brown algae extract gel, binahong lead extract gel and a mixture of brown algae, and binahong leaf extract gel with the concentration of 2.5%, 5%, and 10% respectively. All treatments were given within 7 days. Laboratory data collected included phytochemical screening, total phenolic compound, antioxidant activity and organoleptic test.Results: Brown algae and binahong leaf extracts had a high total phenolic content of 331.25 mg GAE/g and 207.01 mg GAE/g, respectively with antioxidant activity of IC50 = 327.33 µg/mL and 209.30 µg/mL, respectively. It was found that brown algae and binahong leaf extracts could accelerate wound closure in a diabetic mouse model. Gel formulation with 10% w/w brown algae extracts presented 91.66% of wound closure, two times greater than treatment with commercial drugs.Conclusion: The developed gel containing brown algae and binahong leaf extracts can be a promising wound dressing for healing diabetic wounds.

Utilization of Binahong Leaves (Anredera Cordifolia) as Traditional Medicine

Abstract: The use of natural materials as medicine tends to increase with the issue of back to nature and prolonged crises that result in a decrease in people's purchasing power for modern drugs which are relatively more expensive. Binahong plant (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) is one plant that can potentially be an alternative in overcoming hypercholesterolemia. Herbal tea bags are practical drink ingredients that easy to make at a cost that is not too expensive. Therefore, the use of binahong leaves for tea bags becomes very possible with the intention to lower cholesterol and blood sugar levels in people suffering from hypercholesterolemia and diabetes mellitus. This dedication intends to provide counseling about the benefits of binahong leaves for health and training in making tea bags from binahong leaves. The results of the study went smoothly, safely and orderly. The activity was held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 with participants consisting of PRA Argorejo Sedayu Bantul, PRA Kauman and all Aisyiyah Central Leadership Staff and the surrounding community with a total of 36 participants. The activity began with an opening, and followed by remarks from the head of service. Furthermore, the first material was the Utilization of Traditional Medicine, followed by the material on the use of binahong leaves as a traditional medicine, and then continued the practice of making tea bags from binahong leaf powder.

Formulasi dan uji aktivitas antibakteri sediaan salep kombinasi ekstrak etanol daun Sirih dan Binahong terhadap Staphylococcus aureus

Background: Betel leaf (Piper betle L) and Binahong leaf (Anredera cordifolia (Tenor) Steenis) are plants that are often used in traditional medicine. Both of these leaves are efficacious as antibacterials.Objective: This study aimed to determine the stability and antibacterial activity of the combination ointment of Betel leaf extract and Binahong leaf and compare ointment preparations that best inhibit Staphylococcus aureus.Methods: This research was experimentally conducted in the laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Syiah Kuala University, and the laboratory of the Department of Pharmacy, Poltekkes, Ministry of Health, Aceh, in January 2023. Ointment formulation combination of Betel leaf extract and Binahong leaf in the ratio of (1:1), (2:1), and (1:2). Ointment stability tests include organoleptic tests, homogeneity, pH, dispersion, and irritation tests performed on days 1 and 30. Antibacterial activity test using the pitting method. Data analysis was done descriptively and followed by an ANOVA statistical test.Result: The organoleptic test results obtained no changes in the ointment preparation after the storage period. The results of the homogeneity test show that the resulting ointment preparation has homogeneous properties. The results of the pH evaluation of the ointment in the range of 4,5-4,8. The results of the evaluation of the dispersion of the ointment by 5,1-5,5 cm. The results of the irritation evaluation showed the absence of irritation on the skin after the ointment was applied. The results of the antibacterial activity test of the ointment preparation are known to be the inhibitory zone of the combination ointment of Betel leaf extract and Binahong leaf (2: 1) of 28,56 mm and is significantly different from all treatments in inhibiting Staphylococcus aureus.Conclusion: The combination ointment of Betel leaf ethanol extract and Binahong leaf meets the criteria of good ointment stability and can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus with powerful inhibitory power category

The Effect of Giving Gel Combination of Binahong Leaf Extract and Turmeric Rhizome Extract on Histopathological Epithelial Thickness in II B Degree Burn of Rattus norvegicus

This aim of this research was to study the effect of giving a combination gel of binahong (Anredera cordifolia) leaf and turmeric (Curcuma longa Linn) rhizome extract on histopathology of epithelial thickness which has II B degree burns. Twenty five male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) were divided into five groups. K(-) group was normal skin, K(+) group was skin burns treated with 1% silver sulfadiazine, P1, P2, and P3 was skin burns treated with gel combination of binahong leaf extract and turmeric rhizome extract with increase concentration of binahong leaf extract i.e. 1.25%, 2.5%, and 5%, while the concentration of turmeric rhizome extract i.e. 2% for each treatment. The combination gel of binahong leaf extrac 1.25% and turmeric rhizome extract 2% has potential to be an effective treatment for II B burns as indicated by increased of epithelial thickness. Therefore, this study concluded that 1.25% combination gel of binahong leaf extract and turmeric rhizome extract 2% is the effective dosage to increase epithelial thickness on II B healing degree burns wound healing.

Activity Test of Binahong Leaf Extract (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) Against the Eggs of Ostertagia sp. In Peranakan Etawa Goats In Vivo

Gastrointestinal (GI) nematodes are widely recognized as a significant impediment to the achievement of optimal sheep production outcomes. The management of these parasites is predominantly dependent on the utilization of chemical anthelmintics. In recent decades, there has been a growing concern regarding the emergence of anthelmintic resistance across different categories of anthelmintics, as well as the issue of drug residues in animal products. Consequently, there has been a renewed interest in exploring medicinal plants as a potential alternative source of anthelmintics. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to assess the anthelmintic effectiveness of Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) steenis uses scientifically established in vivo on PE goats. The treatments applied in this study were made up of binahong leaf extract at concentrations of 0 mg/ml, 5 mg/ml, 10 mg/ml, and 15 mg/ml. The variable subject study was the efficacy of binahong leaf extract on Ostertagia sp. eggs. The findings of the investigation on the extract derived from binahong leaves exhibited a significant impact on diminishing the quantity of Ostertagia sp. eggs. The binahong leaf extract concentration of 15mg/ml exhibited the highest efficacy in reducing worm eggs, resulting in a reduction rate of 97.5%.

POTENSI EKSTRAK DAUN BINAHONG TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN Salmonella sp.

This study aims to determine the potential of binahong leaf extract (Anredera cordifolia) against Salmonella sp. This study used 5 treatments consisting of P(-) Blank Disk as negative control, P(+) chlorampenicol Disk as positive control, P1 binahong leaf extract concentration 60%, P2 binahong leaf extract concentration 80%, P3 binahong leaf extract concentration 100 %. The results of this study indicated that binahong leaf extract at concentrations of 60%, 80% and 100% had the potential to reduce the growth of Salmonella sp, due to the presence of quite a lot of antibacterial levels in binahong leaf extract. The antibacterial levels of binahong leaf extract include (1) Tannins (positive) (2) Saponins (moderately positive) (3) Falvonoids (weakly positive) (4) Steroids (weakly positive) (5) Alkaloids (positive) (6) Phenolics ( weak positive). Antibacterial content in the form of saponins, falvonoids, alkaloids, phenolics and tannins which are the causes of Binahong leaf extract being able to inhibit the growth of Salmonella sp on Muller Hinton Agar (MHA) media.

Background: Postpartum infections are the top 4 main causes of the high maternal mortality rate in Indonesia at 2022 of 183 per 100,000 live births. Efforts to prevent complications due to infection of puerperal suture wounds with pharmacological therapy using antibiotics and antiseptics, as well as non-pharmacological ones using plant extracts. Binahong is believed to contain flavonoids, terpenoids, saponins, tannins, essential oils, and alkaloids, which are especially useful in healing wound infections. The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of infusion of binahong leaves (Anredera cordifolia (Tenore) Steenis) on the healing of suture wound infections in rats (Rattus norvegicus) experimental animals. Method: The research method was a true-experimental posttest only control group design, the study was conducted from June to August 2023 at the Microbiology and Pharmacology Laboratory of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo University, the research variables were binahong leaf infusion and healing of suture infection, assessment and data collection using the REEDA scale instrument, statistical analysis with the one-way ANOVA, and post-hoc follow-up tests. Result: The results showed p &lt;0.05, so there was a significant effect of giving binahong leaf infusion on the healing of suture wound infections. In terms of the difference in the mean value and the results of the post-hoc significant difference test, it appears that the 5% binahong leaf infusion group showed the most effective results in healing suture wound infections and was significantly different from the negative control group with less effective healing of suture infections. Conclusion : This is in line with research that states that the group given a 5% concentration of binahong extract was more effective than the group with a higher concentration. Thus, administration of a 5% concentration of binahong leaf infusion can be an alternative for healing suture wound infections due to the important content in it in the form of flavonoids, terpenoids, saponins, tannins, essential oils, and alkaloids. Further research is needed with lower concentrations of binahong leaf infusion to find out the minimum concentration that can have a good effect on the convalescence of suture wound infections.
