Increasing the Capacity of Teachers and Students in Understanding the Concept of Environmental Awareness of Honey Bee Cultivation

Bees are honey-producing insects from the genus apis. In addition to honey, bees also produce pollen, royal jelly, propolis, beeswax and bee venom. Honey products that are widely found in Indonesia come from local honey bees, superior bees, wild bees, and lanceng bees. The high demand has driven up the price of honey bee products. Propolis has various health benefits such as containing high antioxidants and phenols, so it has the potential to cure various diseases such as toothache, influenza, diabetes mellitus, tuberculosis, and others. The purpose of this community service is to provide assistance to students regarding environmental awareness of honey bee cultivation at the Pattimura University Laboratory Middle School, Ambon and to increase the capacity of teachers in understanding the concept of environmental awareness of honey bee cultivation. The steps taken for learning honey bee cultivation use Project based learning (PjBL).

The Sensory Profile of 5 Types of Sumatran Forest Honey

Sumatra has a very large forest area so it has great potential to become a place for honey bee cultivation. The various honey produced has different characteristics depending on the source of the nectar. Research on sensory testing of Sumatran forest honey appears limited, with studies focusing more broadly on honey quality and properties. It is necessary to collect data on the sensory profile of Sumatran forest honey as a database that will help control the quality and ensure the authenticity of the honey. The purpose of this study is to determine the sensory profile of five types of Sumatran forest honey traded around Lampung Province. The method used a scoring test on color, aroma, taste, and viscosity. 30 trained panelists were used who had been selected and trained before conducting sample assessment. Data processing using ANOVA and further test Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) with SPSS 27.0 software. The results showed that the five types of Sumatran forest honey tested had the same viscosity but had different color, aroma, and taste profiles. These distinctive and unique characteristics can enrich the biodiversity in Indonesia so it needs to be optimized for its benefits and preserved.

Food source diversity and honey production in stingless bee meliponiculture, Ogan Komering Ulu Timur, South Sumatra, Indonesia

Biodiversitas 25: 2747-2756. This research, conducted with meticulous care, aims to collect data on the diversity of food source plants and analyze vegetation, honey production, and quality in stingless bee cultivation (Meliponiculture) in East Ogan Komering Ulu District (OKUT), South Sumatra Province, Indonesia. The research was carried out using a comprehensive survey method with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The qualitative methods record the type of stingless bee food sources, while qualitative methods are used for honey quality. Direct observation, questionnaires, and in-depth interviews with beekeepers were carried out to collect data on honey production. The investigation involved observing food-supply plants in the meliponiculture area designated as the research site. Meliponiculture area location is the presence of beekeepers actively engaged in producing honey. The results of the inventory of food plant types at the meliponiculture location showed that the composition of food source plants consisted of six species of forestry plants, three species of plantation plants, seven species of MPTs, one species of crop plant, eight species of home garden and four species of shrubs. The planting pattern of plantation and forestry possesses the highest honey yield, which is 360 kg per year. Cultivated honey products have good quality and comply with Indonesian National Standards (SNI), which include organoleptic tests and laboratory tests, with results: Water content 27.14% w/w, reducing sugar content 62.05% w/w, degree of acidity 101.64 ml NaOH Kg, Total solids insoluble in water 0,066% w/w, Ash Content 0.24% w/w, and acidity degree (pH) 3.25.

Analysis of The Effect of Halal Labelization, Brand Image and Prices on Consumer Purchasing Decisions With Religious As Moderating Variables on Coastal Honey in Kertasada Village, Sumenep District

The need for honey in Indonesia alone reaches an average of 150,000 tons per year. This means that Indonesia has to import around 50% of its honey from abroad to meet this demand. This could also be an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to develop their honey business. Even though it seems traditional, the honey business opportunity has undergone modernization and development, from marketing to the processed honey itself. Coastal Honey is a honey bee cultivation business located in Kertasada Village. Coastal Honey, which has been established for around 8 years, is a business that has great prospects with profits increasing almost every year, coupled with the existence of resellers in various regions of Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to research and analyze the influence of halal labeling, Brand Image and Price on Consumer Purchasing Decisions with Religiosity as Moderating Variable on Coastal Honey in Kertasada Village, Sumenep Regency. This research is a quantitative exploration, with the population being the people of Sumenep, especially people who buy Coastal Honey. The testing strategy in this review uses purposive sampling testing, specifically determining samples with certain standards, especially consumers who buy Coastal Honey. Interviews and direct observations with the owner Coastal Honey and distributed questionnaires to 100 respondents which were used to collect data. As well as using data analysis techniques, namely Descriptive Statistics Test, Validity Test, Reliability Test, Classical Assumption Test, Multiple Linear Regression Test, Coefficient of Determination Test and Hypothesis Test. The results of this research show that the Halal Labeling variable, Brand Image, Price and Religiosity have a significant effect on Purchasing Decisions partially and simultaneously. And the moderation results show that Religiosity moderates the relationship between Halal Labeling, Brand Image and Price on Purchase Decisions.

Assistance in the Cultivation of Stingless Bees and the Development of Derivative Products in Sungkai Green Park Ecotourism

The practice of cultivating Galo-galo bees has been steadily developing each year in West Sumatra. All parts of the Galo-galo bee, from honey to propolis, can be effectively utilized to produce commercial products, thereby enhancing the community's economy. Community service activities at Sungkai Green Park Ecotourism (ESGP) in Lambung Bukit Village, Padang, assist the community in cultivating Galo-galo bees. These activities involved providing colonies, conducting socialization sessions, offering mentoring and discussions, and collecting data on local plants and insects. Additionally, knowledge regarding the use and processing of honey and propolis was shared. These community service activities, conducted from September to December 2023, have had a positive impact, particularly on the community around the ESGP area. This aligns with the goal of the initiative, which is to provide education and hands-on practice in Galo-galo bee cultivation.

Peningkatan Keterampilan Produksi dan Pemasaran Produk Unggulan Madu di Desa Margacinta, Kabupaten Pangandaran, Jawa Barat

Margacinta Village has abundant tourism potential, one of which is natural honey bee cultivation. Honey farmers in Margacinta Village are organized into the Taruna Karya Honey Farmer Group. During the harvest season, the honey produced by farmers is abundant (60 to 80 liters, but during the rainy season, honey farmers in Margacinta Village have the potential to experience crop failure, this clearly threatens the economy of honey farmers in Margaacinta Village. The implementation of this service is to develop tourism with the concept of agro-eduwisata. Development is carried out in several stages, starting from education, training, and practice for honey farmers, establishing mini ecosystems as a source of bee feed and agro-educational destinations, and marketing on various platforms. The service was carried out in response to community problems in Margacinta Village, so that the purpose of this service was to improve the economy of the community in general, the Taruna Karya Farmer Group in particular. The targeted outputs are the formation of honey village agro-tourism, the publication of the Apiscerana honey bee cultivation module, the existence of standard packaging standards for raw products, marketing of local products and honey village agro-tourism packages, the formation of mini bee ecosystems, and honey extraction using machine extractors so that the honey obtained is of higher quality.

Empowerment of coffee farmers in Gunung Manik Village through intercropping of honey bee (apis mellifera)

The potential for utilizing the natural resources of Gunung Manik Village remains largely untapped. Abundant natural commodities such as coffee, cloves, cardamom, and others are available. Utilizing land through intercropping in coffee plantations provides dual benefits for farmers, including beekeeping of Apis Mellifera species. The goal of community empowerment is to develop the natural potential through honey cultivation found in the forests of Gunung Manik Village. The method used involves workshops for training in beekeeping management, honey harvesting, and the transfer of Apis Mellifera forest bee colonies into honey bee cultivation boxes in coffee plantations. The outcome of this activity is an increase in the understanding and skills of residents in harvesting forest honey and transferring bee colonies into cultivation boxes.

DESA BOJONG MURNI, MERAIH ASA MELALUI HARUMNYA MINYAK ATSIRI

The Sadar Tani Muda Forest Farmer Group is engaged in trigona honey bee cultivation and agriculture, especially seasonal crops in the form of vegetable commodities and essential oil source plants, namely nutmeg, cloves, ginger, and citronella commodities. The problem is the unavailability of essential oil processing technology to process the harvest of residents, how to manage the management of the distillation business and marketing of essential oils. The purpose of the Village Innovation Ambassador Programme is to introduce essential oil distillation technology, provide guidance on farm business management for cultivating and processing essential oils, find marketing links for the essential oils produced, and support the MBKM Campus Merdeka Belajar programme, especially KPI 2 = Students get off-campus experience, KPI 3 = Lecturers have off-campus activities, and KPI 5 = Lecturers' work results are used by the community. The method of implementing community service uses several methods, namely socialisation, counseling, training, coaching and mentoring to the young farmer conscious forest farmer group of Bojong Murni Village, Ciawi-Bogor Regency. The results of community service activities are in the form of increased knowledge and information about essential oil distillation in the Young Farmer Conscious Forest Farmer Group and increased awareness so that they can prepare themselves for the establishment of home industry scale essential oil distillation in the following year.

Small and Medium Scales Business Development Model and Value Chain of Apis mellifera L. Bee Cultivation in Riau Province

Beekeeping practice was an alternative livelihood for communities around forest areas, offering a potential solution to reduce conflicts arising from the use and management of this ecosystem. Starting in the COVID-19 pandemic, the government introduced Apis mellifera from Java island into honey production in Sumatra due to its high productivity and adaptability to new environments. Therefore, this research aimed to explore the challenges and develop business models and value chains associated with commercializing Apis mellifera honey. The analysis used a qualitative descriptive method through observation and in-depth interviews with beekeeping entrepreneurs. There were two sales systems. The first was direct from beekeepers, and the second was indirect sales systems facilitated by collectors/industries. The collectors/industries gained a significant profit, approximately IDR. 80,000.00/kg, while beekeepers only received a minimum selling price. Marketing became a significant issue as beekeepers tended to focus more on cultivation efforts, resulting in a simplistic method of honey sales. Consequently, providing maximum economic value to the communities around the forest areas required synergy and assistance from related sectors.

Development Strategy of Klanceng Honey Livestock (Trigona Sp) in Lubuk Raja, Ogan Komering Ulu District

Honey bee cultivation is one of the livestock businesses that can play a role in meeting the economic needs of the community. This research was conducted in order to find out what strategies are appropriate in developing the Klanceng (Trigona sp) honey livestock business so that the marketing and development of the Klanceng (Trigona sp) honey livestock business can develop and be able to add economic value to the people of Lubuk Raja District, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. The results of this research are internal factors include strengths and weaknesses, namely that employees have undergone training, the availability of nectar production facilities is quite extensive, cultivation management has been implemented and they already have market share. The weaknesses of the Klanceng Honey Farming Business (Trigona SP) in Lubuk Raja District, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency are seasonal factors, funds, not being able to harvest every day, simple product packaging and lack of knowledge of marketing media. External factors include opportunities and threats. The strategiesis using the S-O strategy or power of opportunity strategy, namely utilizing government support in expanding the marketing area for honey products, utilizing nearby shops and honey collecting agents to market the harvest of Klanceng honey bee products (Trigona sp), then utilizing social media as a promotional tool honey products, as well as changing old packaging in the form of marjan bottles into more attractive glass bottles, developing technology for cultivating livestock Klanceng honey bees (Trigona sp) and finally renting land in an area that is in season.

Improving Financial Management and Taxation Systems in Azzahra Bee Farm MSMEs

Honey bee cultivation is a technique for caring for honey bee colonies that live in hives. Apart from producing honey, bee cultivation can also produce other products such as propolis, pollen and royal jelly. The honey produced by honey bees has been proven to be efficacious in maintaining body health and can treat several types of diseases. Honey bee cultivation is a very attractive alternative for the community so it can be used as a very promising business field to increase income. For this reason, knowledge of financial management and a good taxation system is needed to support the development of the honey bee cultivation business. UMKM Azzahra Bee Farm is an UMKM engaged in cultivating honey bees located on Jl. Melati Raya - I No.6 Sempakata Village, Medan Selayang District. A survey conducted by the PKM team found problems related to financial management and the tax system that were still poorly understood. So far, financial management has not been properly recorded and understanding of the tax system is still very minimal. The PKM team intends to carry out PKM activities using an approach method through counseling and workshops regarding financial management and the taxation system for MSMEs. Through this PKM activity, it is hoped that it will be beneficial for Azzahra Bee Farm MSMEs in the form of increasing knowledge and skills related to financial management and the taxation system for MSMEs.

Potensi Pengembangan Budidya Lebah Trigona Sp Di Kecamatan Mowila Kabupaten Konawe Selatan

Trigona sp beekeeping is a business that has been carried out by many people in Mowila District, Konawe Selatan Regency, but not many know about the prospects for developing this business in the future. This study aims to analyze the development potential of Trigona sp honey bees in Mowila District, Konawe Selatan Regency. This research was carried out in July-June 2022 by taking the research location in Mowila District, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The research location was determined purposively (purposive sampling) with the consideration that in a village located in Mowila District, there is a relatively large population developing the Trigona sp beekeeping business. The number of respondents taken in this study was 80 respondents. The analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis using the SWOT analysis technique. The results using the SWOT analysis in this study indicate (1) the S-O strategy (a.) Increasing the relatively good quality of honey in order to increase production and is supported by easy colony maintenance and the availability of plantation crops as a feed source. (b.) Improving infrastructure and supported by local government policies in an effort to promote the processing of Trigona sp. honey bees. (2) W-O strategy (a.) Consumer demand is quite large, extension agents must be more active in conducting training and providing guidance in carrying out Trigona sp honey bee cultivation business puzzles from extension agents. (b.) Forming livestock groups assisted by the active role of extension agents. (3) S-T strategy (a. Supported by easy bee care can increase production so that income can increase.) and (4) W-T strategy (a.) Increase human resource skills so that they can increase the ability of breeders to process Trigona sp. bee cultivation business. (b) Participate in many trainings held by the Animal Husbandry Service or related institutions so that they can overcome the effects of weather and reduce the effect of unstable prices in conducting Trigoan sp. beekeeping.

Inventory of plants as food source for Apis sp. and Trigona sp. in Tlekung Batu East Java Indonesia

This study aims to identify plant species and analyze the density (D), frequency (F), Importance Value Index (IVI) of each plant that is a source of food for Apis sp. and Trigona sp. in Tlekung Village. This research was conducted using survey and sampling methods in 3 garden locations where there is honey bee cultivation. Each location has 10 plots, one plot has an area of 1m x 1m. Data analysis using RD, RF, and IVI formulas. The results of the study were 2579 individuals consisting of 37 species from 20 families and 18 orders. The plant species that has the largest IVI is Synedrella nodiflora (66.30) from the family Asteraceae order Asterales as well as recommendations to be provided around the garden to support the feed of Apis sp. and Trigona sp.

PKM. BUDIDAYA LEBAH MADU KELE AGROWISATA ETNO BALI DI DESA BAHA, KECAMATAN MENGWI KABUPATEN BADUNG

Balinese Ethno Bee Agrotourism is located in Baha village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, Bali Province, which is engaged in cultivating honey bees, Kele is a partner in the Community Partnership Program (PKM) activities. The aim of this PKM is to overcome pests that attack Kele honey bees in an effort to increase the production of Kele Honey Bee Cultivation, and to increase sales of honey production from Kele Honey Bee Cultivation. The partner priority problems being assisted are as follows: (1) Pest problems in kele honey bee cultivation. (2) Marketing problems. The solution to deal with all attacks from bee enemies, beekeepers must look for and know the prevention: 1) to prevent ants from entering the bee house, the legs supporting the bee house are smeared with oil or put in a bowl filled with water. To prevent night moths, you can do this by keeping the bee house clean, making the door smaller so that the butterflies cannot enter, strengthening the colony and setting traps at night. If eggs, caterpillars and moths are found in the nest, they must be immediately removed and destroyed. Strengthens bee colonies so they can kill bacteria that attack larvae. Take the infected comb, then destroy it by burning it. Likewise, dealing with lizard and toke attacks requires traps. 2) For marketing, there needs to be online and off-line marketing promotions. The group continues to improve production quality, maintains the quality of honey sold to consumers, makes bottle packaging as attractive as possible and contains special labels to maintain the good name of the producer.

Marketing Strategy in Increasing Sales using he Boston Consulting Group Method and Swot Analysis in the Sari Honey Company Sedana Badung, Bali-Indonesia

Honey bee cultivation has long been known to people in Indonesia. Honey is an agricultural product that has high benefits and economic value. Indonesia's fertile natural conditions allow the growth of various types of plants which can be used as a source of food for bees. Kele-kele is one of the forest resources that has the potential to be developed. This is because Kele-kele's food sources are abundant, almost all plants that produce flowers can be used as a food source, whether they come from forest plants, agricultural plants or plantation plants. Many people in Balangan already cultivate kele-kele as a honey producer, but there is still a lack of knowledge and understanding about marketing management as one of the spearheads of business. With the emergence of many similar businesses, competition is becoming increasingly fierce. To face competition and improve business, competitive position analysis and marketing strategies are very necessary. So that Trigona beekeepers are able to know market growth and relative market share. The analysis used is BCG Analysis (Boston Consulting Group). SWOT analysis is used to analyze internal factors so that the company's strengths and weaknesses are known. External factors to find out and analyze the opportunities and threats/challenges faced by the company. From the results of this analysis, the most relevant strategy can be determined to be used to face competition, increase sales, so as to increase company profits in the long term.

Development of Numeracy Problems with the Context of Bee Cultivation Activity for Junior High School Students

The minimum competency assessment evaluates the numeracy skills of Indonesian students, aiming to facilitate the development of personal skills for self-improvement and contribute positively to society. The low numeracy skills among students are the lack of familiarity and infrequent practice in solving numeracy problems. This study aimed to determine the characteristics of numeracy problems with a context of biodiversity conservation using the Research and Development (RD) method by Tessmer. This model includes preliminary, self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one, small group, and field tests. The subjects of this study were Year 7 students from one junior high school in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. This study developed were 20 problems. The validity data result of the questions is 0.88 with valid criteria, and the practicality data result of the questions is 89.7% with highly practical criteria. Furthermore, the potential effect is obtained from the average student score (75.39), indicating good criteria. It can be stated that numeracy questions with a context of bee cultivation activity met the valid and practical criteria, and have a potential effect. Therefore, teachers can use these questions as instruments to improve students' numeracy skills.

ANALISIS PENDAPATAN MASYARAKAT DARI BUDIDAYA MADU TRIGONA (TRIGONA SP.) DESA PEMEPEK KECAMATAN PRINGGARATA LOMBOK TENGAH

This research aims to analyzed the level of the average income of the people of pemepek village of pringgarat sub-district central lombok regency from trigonasip honey bee cultivation, and to also analyze the contribution of the level of income from Trigona sp honey bee cultivation towards the respondent income. The type of data used in this research is qualitative and quantitative, the source of data used is from primary data and secondary data. The data collection method used in this research is observation, interview, and questionnaire with the aim to explore data verbally.The result of this research showed the average net profit from Trigona sp honey bee business in pemepek village of pringgarat sub-district central lombok regency is Rp 10.092.459/ year from 3 (three) productions in 1 (one) year. The struggle faced by Trigona sp honey bee farmer in pemepek village is that it is rather difficult to find new honey bee colony. The Trigona sp honey bee side business contribution towards the respondent household income in pemapek village is huge, where the Trigona sp honey bee side business achieve 66%, which is the highest presentation compared to other non-farming business income. Pemepek village's Trigona sp honey in the interest of business worthiness is very worthy to develop due to achieving R/C > from 1 that in the amount of 22,6 R/C thus it could be presumed to be worthy to be ran in pemepek village of pringgarat sub-district central lombok regency.

Contribution of Trigona Honey Bee Business (Trigona sp) to Farmers' Income in Bengkaung Village, West Lombok Regency

The research was conducted in Bengkaung Village, Batu Layar District, West Lombok Regency with the aim of finding out farmers' income from Trigona Honey Bee (Trigona sp.) cultivation and plantation farming as well as analyzing the contribution of Trigona Honey Bee cultivation to the total of farmers' income. The research uses primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained from interviews with farmers, while secondary data was obtained from related agencies. The number of respondents was 36 farmers. The data analysis took the form of income analysis, cost analysis and analysis of the percentage of contribution of the Trigona Honey Bee cultivation business to the total of farmers' income. The results show that the average annual income of farmers from the Trigona Honey Bee cultivation business is IDR. 15,162,075 while the average total income of farmers per year is IDR. 35,914,739 which means the contribution of the Trigona Honey Bee Cultivation is 42%. Meanwhile, the obstacles faced in cultivating Trigona Honey Bee are the shortages of bee's food during the rainy season, predator interference, lack of post-harvest knowledge which causes the queen of the bee to die during the harvesting process and the farmers' ignorance of good honey harvest times.
