This paper examines both technical and business model aspects regarding the handling of data in the environment of Industry 4.0 use cases and their implications towards a B2B integration framework. It considers the provision and use of smart services in mechanical and plant engineering after-sales and develops a holistic approach for ensuring and managing internal and inter-company service integration. On the basis of use-cases carried out within a research project, the concept is implemented and evaluated.
