High-performance liquid chromatographic analysis of aldehydes at trace level as their 3-methylbenzothiazolone azine derivatives

The high-performance liquid chromatographic analysis of some simple carbonyl compounds as their 3-methylbenzothiazolone derivatives was studied. The detection was performed by means of an ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometric detector. All compounds except formaldehyde gave two isomers of the type E and Z. The derivatization was quantitative only for formaldehyde, acetaldehyde and benzaldehyde. The chromatographic conditions were optimized to solve the problem due to the presence of two isomers. The low detection limits obtained for these compounds make this method a competitive alternative to dinitrophenylhydrazine and lutidine methods.

Synthesis of 2‐methylthioindolizine‐3‐carbonitriles using nitro ketene dithioacetal

AbstractThe reaction of 1‐cyanomethylpyridinium chloride or bromide,1a‐i, with 1,1‐bis(methylthio)‐2‐nitroethylene (2) in the presence of triethylamine as a base in ethanol gave the corresponding 2‐methylthioindolizine‐3‐carbonitrile3and 2‐methyl‐thio‐1‐nitroindolizine‐3‐carbonitrile4in good yields, respectively. Compounds3a,fwere key intermediates for the synthesis of cycl[3.2.2]azine derivatives.

Tautomerism of derivatives of azines. 19. Effect of solvents on the o,p-quinoid equilibria of the ylidene forms of 4-pyrimidinylcyanoacetic acid esters

The effect of solvents on the tautomeric equilibria of the ylidene forms of 4-pyrimidinylcyanoacetic acid esters with o- and p-quinoid orientations of the double bonds in the heteroring was determined. The relative stability of the p-quinoid tautomer increased markedly on passing to polar solvents due to nonspecific solvation and the formation of hydrogen bonds.

Tautomerism of derivatives of azines. 18. Effect of solvents on intrachelate tautomerism of the [1,5]-sigmatropic type in the acylmethylazine series

The constants of the intrachelate tautomeric equilibria of trifluoro- and trichloroacetonylpyridines in aprotic and hydroxy-containing solvents were determined by 1H, 14N, and 17O NMR spectroscopy and UV spectrophotometry. It is shown that an increase in the polarity of the solvent and transition to hydroxy-containing solvents are accompanied by a shift of the intrachelate equilibrium to favor the ylidene tautomer.

Studies on quinolizine derivatives. XXII. Syntheses and properties of 2-phenylazacycl[3.3.3]azine derivatives.

By the reaction of 6-methyl-4-imino-4H-quinolizine derivatives (5, 8) with the mixed anhydrides (6a-h), 2-phenyl-1-azacycl [3.3.3] azines (7a-p, 9a-g) were obtained.2-Pheny1-1, 3, 6-triazacycl [3.3.3] azine derivatives (15ah, 17a-h, 18a-g) were prepared by the reaction of 2-(2-cyanovinyl) amino-6-aminopyridines (13, 16) with mixed anhydrides (6a-h).The proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectral data of the 2-phenylazacycl [3.3.3] azines (12, 18a) may be interprited in terms of a paramagnetic ring current.

Tautomerism of derivatives of azines. 16. Tautomerism of acylmethylpyrazines and -quinoxalines

The tautomeric equilibria of acylmethylpyrazines and -quinoxalines in chloroform were studied by 1H, 14N, and 17O NMR spectroscopy. It was shown that keto-enol tautomerism is realized in the acylmethylpyrazine series. Annelation leads to the development of an ylidene tautomer in the acylmethylquinoxaline series. A marked dependence of the position of the intrachelate equilibrium on the character of the solvent was observed.

Tautomerism of derivatives of azines. 17. Effect of solvents on the position of the azinyl-ylidene tautomeric equilibrium of substitued azinylmethanes

The effect of solvents on the position of the azinyl-ylidene tautomeric equilibrium in series of azinylmethanes was studied. It was shown that an increase in the polarity of the solvent leads to stabilization of the ylidene tautomer; the sensitivity of the tautomeric equilibrium to the effects of the solvent depends on the form of the side fragment that undergoes tautomerization. It was concluded that stabilization of the ylidene tautomeric form by polar solvents is a general tendency in series of prototropic equilibrium of the azinyl-ylidene type as a whole.

Charge Transfer Interaction in Homomolecular Crystals of Azacycl[3.3.3]azine Derivatives

Abstract The electronic spectra and structure of the single crystals of azacycl[3.3.3]azine derivatives have been investigated by the reflection and absorption measurements. In addition to the π-π* transitions of in-plane polarization, the out of plane polarized transition have been found which are due to the intermolecular charge transfer transition between the stacked molecules of the same species.

Assay of blood acetaldehyde by HPLC with fluorescence detection of its 2-diphenylacetyl-1,3-indandione-1-azine derivative

A simple sensitive method for the assay of blood acetaldehyde is described. Samples are collected into an organic solution of 2-diphenylacetyl-1,3-indandione-1-hydrazone. Proteins are precipitated immediately and carbonyl compounds react to form fluorescent azine derivatives. Methanol in the reagent mixture prevents the oxidation of any ethanol present, precipitates protein and releases any adsorbed acetaldehyde. After protein removal, the reaction is completed by the addition of an acid catalyst and a portion of the reaction mixture is subjected to quantitative analysis by high performance liquid chromatography.

Tautomerism of azine derivatives. 11.14N-NMR and17O-NMR investigation of intrachelate tautomerism of acylmethylpyridines

Intrachelate [1, 5]-sigmatropic tautomerism in a series of acylmethylpyridines has been studied by14N- and17O-NMR spectroscopy. Principles of tautomer modelling or simulation have been proposed and examined, nitrogen and oxygen chemical shift spectra have been determined, and the accuracy of this method for the determination of tautomer composition has been evaluated. The presence of acceptor (electron withdrawing) substituents in the acylmethyl side-chain fragment has been found to stabilize the NH-tautomer.

Tautomerism of azine derivatives. Communication 10. Study of the tautomerism of pyrimidyl-2-cyanoacetic ester by the pmr method utilizing a ?label of saturation? in the impulse variant

The mechanism of the 1,5-prototropic interconversion of the ylidene tautomers of pyrimidyl-2-cyanoacetic ester was studied by the method of the transmission of inverted magnetization. It was shown that this process is accomplished by an ion-dissociation mechanism with the intermediate formation of the aromatic tautomeric form.

Synthesis and Characterization of Hydrazone and Azine Derivatives of Bis(cyclopentadienyl)titanium(IV)

Abstract Pentacoordinated hydrazone and azine derivatives of bis(cyclopentadienyl)titanium(IV) of the type [(OC6H4CR : NNHR′)TiCl(Cp)2] and [(OC6H4CR″ : NN : CR″C6H4O)Ti(Cp)2], where R=H or CH3, R′=H, C6H5 or C6H3(NO2)2 and R″=H or CH3, have been prepared. The products were characterized by chemical analyses, electrical conductance, IR, 1H NMR, and electronic spectral studies.
