Enhancing Informatics Engineering students' speaking skills at Asahan university using picture media in present tense

The ability to speak English with good and right pronunciation, accuracy, fluency, and intonation is a test for university students of the Informatics Engineering Department at the University of Asahan to achieve new knowledge. There are still many university students who are not good at speaking skills in English. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the implementation of image media techniques to students' speaking skills in the present tense. This research is descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted in three cycles, each consisting of two learning cycles or face-to-face. The research subjects were 20 education participants. The methods used to collect data are observation, interviews, and tests. The instrument used to obtain data is a test question. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results showed that university students in cycles I, II, and III had an average score which indicated that image media techniques could enhance English speaking skills in the present tense. It was summarized that the implementation of image media could effectively enhance the ability to speak English. Picture media can help university students understand English. This finding can also be used as a reference for lecturers to enhance the speaking-learning process Keywords: picture; media; speaking; EFL.

Peningkatan Hasil Tanaman Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus (l.) moench) dengan Pemberian ZPT Auksin dan Pupuk Kandang Ayam

The study was conducted in the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Asahan University, Jalan Jendral Ahmad Yani, Kisaran, Asahan Regency from March until May 2021. The study aims to the find out the increase in yield of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench) by giving auxin and chicken manure. This study used randomized complete block design with two factors: (1) Auxin (Z) with 3 levels: Z0 = 0 ppm, Z1 = 100 ppm, Z2 = 200, (2) Chicken manure (A) with 3 levels: A0 = 0 kg/polybag, A1 = 1 kg/polybag, A2 = 2 kg/polybag. Observation parameters were harvesting age, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit weight. The result showed that the application of Auxin did not show any significant effect on harvesting age, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit weight. Application cow manure showed any significant effect on harvesting age, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit weight, the best treatment is A2 = 2 kg/polybag. Interaction of the application of auxin with chicken manure did not show any significant effect on all observation parameters.

The Influence of Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka to Improve the Quality of Graduates in Higher Education: A Reflective Analysis

Objective: Higher education is vital in producing qualified graduates ready to face work challenges. This research used a case study approach at Asahan University. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka program at Asahan University. Method: The approach was used as an experimental research approach. The respondents constituted students and lecturers at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at Asahan University, which accounts for 26 participants. In sampling from the population, researchers used purposive sampling with sample characters, namely students and lecturers of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, students and lecturers involved in the MBKM program batch 1 to batch 6. Data collection was carried out using 20 questionnaires, which were analyzed using a Likert Scale. The data was collected using the Google form integrated with Internet-Based Data Analysis (IBDA) and analyzed using the Microsoft Office Excel formula. Results: Therefore, based on the questionnaire distributed using Google Forms, it was found that the program MBKM that Asahan University has carried out affects the competence of graduates involved in the program, with a significance of 64.4% with significant criteria. Novelty: Based on the analysis and discussion results, the Learning Management System integrated the MBKM program to require a clear, structured concept and scientific transparency in all aspects to increase the number of graduates who contribute to the development of Indonesia Maju 2045.

Pemanfaatan Koleksi Bank Indonesia Corner sebagai Sumber Informasi bagi Mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi di Perpustakaan Universitas Asahan

This study aims to determine the utilization of the BI Corner collection as a source of information for economics faculty students and to find out what are the obstacles in utilizing the BI Corner collection at the Asahan University Library. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research, namely describing by way of illustrating the use of the BI Corner collection in the library. Informants in this study were 10 people consisting of students of the economics faculty at Asahan University. The data collection techniques in this study were carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. Then the data analysis technique in this study was carried out through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions/verification. While the technique of checking the validity of the data in this study is source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the use of various BI Corner collections is to meet information needs such as finding references for course assignments and making journal articles. bored while on campus by utilizing the existing facilities at the BI Corner. The obstacles in utilizing the BI Corner collection are the difficulty in finding the required collection because it is not listed in the OPAC, never adding a collection from 2019 so the collection is just that - that's all, there are economics faculty students who don't know the existence of the BI Corner at the Asahan University Library and there is no special librarian who manages the BI Corner so that the management and procurement of BI Corner library materials does not go well. This has resulted in the utilization of the BI Corner collection as a source of information for economics faculty students at the Asahan University Library.

Pemanfaatan Media Pembelajaran Berbasis IT Mahasiswa FKIP Universitas Asahan

This study aims to explain and analyze the ability of FKIP Universitas Asahan students to utilize IT-based learning media through a case study approach. This research involves selecting a sample of case studies covering various study programs in FKIP with the aim of carefully investigating students' knowledge, skills, and attitudes towards the use of IT-based learning media. Data collection techniques involve interviews, observation, and questionnaire dissemination. This analysis involves a deep understanding and ability of how FKIP Universitas Asahan students integrate and implement how technology benefits the learning process of Asahan University students, as well as what factors affect the use of IT-based learning media. The findings of this study show that the learning media used by students in the form of learning videos is the highest, with answers often getting a percentage of 45%, for the use of PowerPoint media the highest, with solutions often getting a rate of 60%, for using Google Classroom media the highest, with answers often getting a percentage of 40%, and for the use of social media the highest, with solutions often getting a presentation of 85%. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the majority of students show an adequate level of knowledge and skills to utilize technology in the learning process.

Students' Perceptions of the Effectiveness of the 5E Learning Cycle and Problem-Based Learning Based on TPACK in Writing Scientific Article

Writing scientific papers is unavoidable for the scientific community in higher education. As part of the scientific community, students must master the knowledge and skills of writing scientific papers. However, the reality on the ground has not shown the expected reality. Many students do not have sufficient knowledge and skills to write scientific papers. Not a few students still have shallow knowledge and skills in terms of writing scientific papers. This study examined students' perceptions of using the TPACK-based 5E-PBL learning cycle model to improve their ability to write scientific papers. The subjects of this study were 189 second-semester students who had taken Indonesian language courses at Asahan University from the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Teacher Training. The research method used was a descriptive research design with a quantitative approach. The research data was obtained by distributing surveys to all samples using the Google Forms platform, and interviews. Based on the results of the data analysis, there was a significant increase, around 51 students got very good scores, and 65 were in a good category. Thus, the effectiveness of the TPACK-based 5E-PBL learning cycle model in terms of educators (lecturers) shows a very high category (56%). While the average score showed the highest score 41% in the very high category viewed from the students’ sub-variable. In sum, students considered using the 5E-PBL learning cycle model based on TPACK for Indonesian language courses on scientific paper writing material positively impacted the learning process.

Growth And Results of Some Microgreens of Order Caryophyllales on Different Plant Media

The research was conducted at the Tissue Culture Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Asahan University, from March 2022 to April 2023. The aim of this study was to determine the growth and yield of several microgreens of the order Ceryophyllales on different planting media. The design used was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 1 treatment factor: the first factor was: Growing Media (M) (M) consisted of M1 = rockwool, M2 = cocopeat, M3 = vermiculite. The observed variables consisted of: percentage of live seeds, number of seed germinations, plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight.The results showed that the treatment of several microgreens of the order (O) caryophyllales where the red spinach (O2) treatment gave the highest percentage of survival could have a real effect on the percentage of live seeds 0.82%, the number of seed germinations 13.89%, plant height 1.48% , number of leaves 1.51%, and the treatment of basil plants was not significantly different at 0.56% fresh weight. The treatment of different planting media (M) where the treatment of vermiculite growing media gave the highest percentage of survival could have a significant effect on the percentage of live seeds 0.79%, the number of seed germinations 11.22%, plant height 1.44%, number of leaves 1.45% , and the treatment of cocopeat plant media was not significantly different at 0.52% fresh weight. The interaction of several microgreens of the order Caryophyllales and different growing media had no significant effect on the percentage of live seeds, the number of seed germinations, plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight.

The Influence of Organizational Commitment and Work Climate on the Performance of Higher Education Lecturers in Asahan District

Many factors are considered capable of determining the quality of lecturer performance in tertiary institutions. Therefore, this study will test whether there is an effect of organizational commitment and work climate on the performance of university lecturers in Asahan district. Data collection In this study, economics was used with a focus on education management to test the factors of improving the quality of education with the intervening variable of teacher performance at tertiary institutions in Asahan District. This research was conducted in Asahan District which of the 14 tertiary institutions, one of which is Asahan University. The population in this study are university lecturers. This study uses a non-probability sampling method. The sample criteria in this study were that there were 115 permanent lecturers in tertiary institutions in the Asahan Regency. The results of the study show that organizational commitment has an influence on the quality of lecturer performance. Because with an organization that has a commitment to advancing the university, lecturers will be encouraged to participate. Likewise with the work climate which also has a very large influence on lecturer performance. This is due to a positive work climate and high morale. Then the lecturers will also have the enthusiasm to improve the reputation of the campus. So it was concluded that organizational commitment greatly influences the performance of lecturers in Asahan district.

Response Of Natural Zpt Generation Of Green Bean Sprouting Extract And Plant Media On The Growth Of Lemon Orange ( Citrus Limon L.) Plant Cuttings

From March to May 2021, this study was carried out in the Asahan University research facility. This study's goal was to ascertain how administering natural ZPT green bean sprout extract and planting media affected the growth of lemon plant cuttings ( Citrus limon L.). It was a randomized block design that was used (RBD). The first of the two components in the factorial treatment design is the administration of ZPT natural green bean sprout extract (Z) at four levels: Z 0 = no immersion, Z 1 = one hour of immersion, Z 2 = two hours of immersion, and Z 3 = three hours of immersion. The second factor is how growing media (M) are treated, with M 0 being moss and topsoil and M 1 being cocopeat and topsoil, and M 2 being chaff charcoal and topsoil, at three different levels. The proportion of live cuttings (%), the number of days before shoots appeared (days), the shoot height (cm), the number of leaves (strands), and the length of the roots were the parameters measured (cm). Almost all of the observed parameters, with the exception of the age at which shoots developed from cuttings, did not respond significantly to the administration of natural PGR extract of mung bean sprouts, according to the data. While this was going on, the treatment of the planting medium had a very big impact on the parameters of root length and leaf count that had been measured. In the meantime, the treatment of the planting medium had a very substantial impact on the parameters of root length, number of leaves, and shoot height that were measured. The percentage of live cuttings and the age at which shoots first developed, however, did not appear to have any discernible effects. Citrus limon L. cutting growth was not significantly affected by the interaction between the response of administering natural PGR extract of green bean sprouts and planting media, according to all measured parameters.

Response of Growth and Production of Soybean Varieties Edamame ( Glycine max L. Meriil) To Super Compost Fertilizer and POC JST

This research was conducted at the Experimental Field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Asahan University (UNA) Kisaran, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra, in February - April 2022. This study was arranged based on a factorial randomized block design (RBD) with 2 treatment factors and 3 replications. The first factor was the treatment of super compost (K) with 3 levels, namely K0 = 0 tons/ha (control), K1 = 5 tons/ha (0.94 kg/plot), K2 = 10 tons/ha (1 .88 kg/plot). Rhizobium Biological Fertilizer per 250 g of soybean seeds. The second factor is the concentration of JST POC (J) with 4 levels, namely J 0 = 0 ml/litre of water/plot, J 1 = 15 ml/litre of water/plot (1.5%), J 2 = 30 ml/litre of water/ plot (3%), J 3 = 45 ml/litre of water/plot (4.5%). The results showed that the treatment of compost had a significant effect on the concentration of POC ANN (J), which significantly affected the height of plants 3 weeks after transplanting, the number of branches 3 weeks after transplanting, the number of filled pods per sample plant, pod production per sample, and pod production per plot. The best plant height 3 weeks after transplanting at a dose of 1.88 kg of super compost (K 2 ) is 30.73 cm, the number of branches aged 3 weeks after transplanting is best at a dose of 1.88 kg of super compost (K 2 ), i.e. 8.40 branches, the best number of filled pods per sample plant at a dose of 1.88 kg of super compost (K 2 ) is 50.53 pods, the best pod production per sample is at a dose of 1.88 kg of super compost (K 2 ) i.e. 31.43 g, the best product per plot at the dose of super compost (K 2 ) is 0.30 kg. POC ANN concentration treatment (J) significantly affected plant height 3 weeks after transplanting, number of branches aged 3 weeks after transplanting, number of filled pods per sample plant, pod production per sample, and pod production per plot. The best plant height at 3 weeks after transplanting with POC ANN treatment with a concentration of 4.5% (J 3 ) is 29.23 cm, and the best number of branches aged 3 weeks after transplanting is best with POC ANN treatment with a concentration of 4.5% (J 3 ) namely 7.81 branches, the best number of filled pods per sample plant with POC ANN concentration of 4.5% (J 3 ), namely 48.76 pods, the best pod production per sample with POC ANN treatment of 4.5% (J 3 ) namely 29.89 g and the best production per plot with POC ANN treatment with a concentration of 4.5% (J 3 ) is 0.31 kg. The interaction of super compost fertilizer and POC ANN concentrations did not affect all parameters of the edamame soybean variety

The Effects of Different Dosages of Pasak Bumi (Eurycoma longifolia Jack) towards The Sex of Betta Fish Embryo

Betta fish (Betta splendens) is one of the ornamental fish that is in demand by the public because it has aesthetic value and high economic value. The attractive body color of male betta fish with long fins causes this fish to be more attractive to the public compared to female betta fish. Male betta fish have the prospect of being monosexually cultured which can be done by masculinization method. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of pasak bumi extract on the percentage of male sex ratio, hatchability and survival rate of larvae. The masculinization method is an engineering technique of administering steroid hormones that can increase the male sex ratio with using natural materials that are environmentally friendly such as pasak bumi (Eurycoma longifolia, Jack). Pasak Bumi contains phytosterol compounds so it can be used as a natural ingredient in masculinization applications. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Asahan University using Completely Randomized Design 5 (five) treatments and 5 (five) replications with dose pasak bumi extract is 0 mg/L; 1 mg/L; 2 mg/L; 3 mg/L and 4 mg/L. The treatment was given by soaking betta fish embryos in the Morula phase, which is about 2 (two) hours after fertilization. The results of the study show that concentration pasak bumi 3 mg/L resulted in the highest percentage of males from all treatments, which was 76.50%. The percentage of hatchability for all treatments is 100% However, the highest survival rate was found indose 4 mg/L by 65%. The research results also show found fish intersex in the treatment of 2 mg/L of 0,40% and 4 mg/L by 0,25%. Water quality during the study in the form of temperature ranged from 24.5-26.7°C; pH 5.8 – 7.1 and DO 3.5 – 4.7 mg/l.

Penggunaan Aplikasi Parafrasa untuk Menurunkan Plagiarisme pada Mahasiswa FKIP Universitas Asahan dalam Menyelesaikan Skripsi

Paraphrasing must be done in writing scientific papers to avoid plagiarism. So this is important for all students. However, in reality, Asahan University FKIP students still have not mastered the correct paraphrasing technique. These abilities can be developed by diligently reading or with the help of free or paid online applications. The method of this activity was carried out in three stages, namely: preparation, implementation, and evaluation, by distributing questionnaires for student responses to the activities that have been carried out. This community service activity was at the Asahan University FKIP, Jalan Jend. Ahmad Yani Kisaran. Participants in this activity were all students of the seventh semester of the English Education study program, totalling 43 students, and Mathematics Education, totalling 57 students. This activity was carried out by introducing paraphrasing tools to help students reduce plagiarism. However, these tools must be re-read by students so that the meaning of the articles quoted is the same. The results of the introduction and training on paraphrasing applications, namely smodin, spinner id, quilbolt, and paraphrasing tools, were fascinating and help students reduce plagiarism. Based on the results of the evaluation through the distribution of google form questionnaires, it was found that 82% of students stated that the activities of using paraphrasing applications that were taught were beneficial. In comparison, 18% of students stated that it was helpful.

Quality of Service (QoS) for Network Performance Analysis Wireless Area Network (WLAN)

Quality of Service (QoS) is the ability of a network to provide good service by providing bandwidth, overcoming jitter and delay. Wireless LAN network performance must always be maintained properly. Therefore, to determine the quality of the wireless LAN internet network at Asahan University, it is necessary to analyze network performance, focus on how to monitor and measure the performance of the wireless LAN network, and find out how big the network performance is on the infrastructure. as the speed of access from the sending point to the destination point. Access speed is measured by measuring throughput, delay, jitter and packet loss on the network at Asahan University. Research conducted using quantitative methods consists of 4 stages, namely conceptual, design, empirical and analytical. In the QoS (Quality of Service) analysis carried out using the Wireshark application and using the TIPHON standard, the results obtained from the quality of the WLAN network of each faculty at Asahan University are different. Throughput measurement obtained an average result of 582.08 Kb/s and is categorized as medium. The average packet loss measurement result is 5.39% and is categorized as good. The delay measurement results obtained an average of 15.62 ms and is categorized as very good. The average result of the jitter measurement is 4.50ms with good category.

Pelaksanaan Pendidikan Agama Islam di Universitas Asahan dan Koherensinya dengan Surat Keputusan Direktur Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi No. 43/Dikti/Kep/2006

This study aims to analyze the learning of Islamic Religious Education at the Faculty of Economics, Asahan University. The problems studied include objectives, materials, methods, lecturer qualifications, facilities, semester credit load and learning evaluation. The various components of the problem will be analyzed for relevance by the letter of the Director General of Higher Education No. 43/DIKTI/Kep/2006 concerning guidelines for the implementation of personality development courses. The research method used is qualitative, with the technique of guaranteeing the validity of the data carried out by diligence, triangulation and member checking. The results of the study show that at Asahan University (1) the objectives of Islamic Religious Education are generally relevant to the decree in question (2) The learning materials are broadly adapted to the letter, but there is no syllabus and lesson plans prepared by lecturers of Islamic Religious Education. . (3) the learning method used is the lecture, discussion and question and answer method. (4) The qualifications of lecturers of Religious Education, Faculty of Economics, Asahan University are not relevant to the decree (5) The facilities provided are adequate to support the success of lectures, and this is also relevant to the said decree (6) The number of credits in learning is not relevant to the letter The decision letter referred to (7) evaluation of courses refers to the Faculty regulations, which is carried out with the first three stages of quizzes, second, mid-semester and lastly the end-of-semester exam.

RESPON PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI BAWANG MERAH (Allium cepa L) TERHADAP KONSENTRASI AIR KELAPA DAN MEDIA TANAM SECARA VERTIKULTUR

The study was conducted at experimantal field at Faculty of Agriculture, Asahan University, Asahan Regency on October 2020 until December 2020. The study aims to the find out the growth response and production of shallots (Allium cepa L.) to the concentration of coconut water and growth media veticulture. This study used randomized complete block design with two factors: (1) Concentration of coconut water (K) with 3 levels: K1 = 25% (250 ml coconut water + 750 ml water), K2 = 50% (500 ml coconut water + 500 ml water), K3 = 75% (750 ml coconut water + 250 ml water) and (2) growth media (M) with 3 levels: M1 = soil + cow manure (1:1), M2 = soil + cow manure (2:1), M3 = soil + cow manure (3:1). Observation parameters were plant height, number of leave, number of bulbs, bulbs weight. The results showed that coconut water concentration had a significant effect on the number of tubers per clump and tuber wet weight, but had no significant effect on observations. plant height and number of leaves, the best treatment at K3 = 75% (750 ml coconut water + 250 ml water). The planting medium did not significantly affect the observations of plant height, number of leaves, number of tubers per clump and wet weight of tubers. The interaction between the concentration of coconut water and growing media did not have a significant effect on all observed variables.

PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR LOGIS DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE TEAM-ACCELERATED INSTRUCTION

This study is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest one group design. The population in this study is all students majoring in mathematics education at an Asahan University, North Sumatra. Sampling was done by using the purposive sampling technique. Students work under the cooperative learning method Team-Accelerated Instruction (TAI) type. This research was conducted to study the enhancement of students’ logical thinking ability after cooperative learning TAI types were implemented. The instruments used in this study are logical thinking ability tests, observation sheets, and student interviews. The data were analyzed by using t-test. From the result of data analysis, it is found that there is a significant enhancement in the logical thinking ability of the students’ who work under the cooperative learning method TAI type. Therefore, cooperative learning Team-Accelerated Instruction (TAI) type can be alternative learning to improve students’ logical thinking ability.

Bentuk Perlindungan Bagi Perempuan yang Dipekerjakan Sebagai Pekerja Seks Komersil (PSK)

The high number of unemployed people in Indonesia has made people ignore the ban from the state not to commit a crime. Including trafficking in people. The target of victims in this crime are usually women. Women who are victims are mostly employed as Commercial Sex Workers (CSWs). The modus operandi is used by various actors to run their business. Usually by luring work outside the city. The formulation of the problem to be discussed is regarding a general review of Commercial Sex Workers (CSWs) and forms of legal protection for women employed as Commercial Sex Workers (CSWs). The research method is normative with legal materials derived from laws and regulations, books or other scientific works as well as dictionaries that explain the problem. Procedure for collecting legal material by searching the Asahan University Faculty of Law library to find legal books and legislation relating to forms of protection for women employed as Commercial Sex Workers (CSWs) by analyzing existing legal materials and then later from the management of these legal materials conclusions drawn by the authors. Regulations regarding the crime of trafficking in persons are regulated through Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning Eradication of the Criminal Act of Trafficking in Persons. Which includes the scope of trafficking in persons, sanctions, and legal protection, and so forth. So that conclusions can be drawn from the writing of this study is the regulation and legal protection regarding these criminal acts are clearly regulated in the Act. Thus, the author's advice law enforcement officials can enforce the law in accordance with statutory regulations.

The Communication Patterns of Leadership in Improving Work Ethic of Lecturer and Staff in Asahan University (Islamic Communication Perspective)

This study aims to analyze the communication patterns of leadership in improving work ethic of lecturer and staff, the implementation of leadership communication patterns to the principles of Islamic communication and to identify various barriers occurring at Asahan University. The research method used in this study is a descriptive method through a qualitative approach, by observing the state of the subject or object of research at the time of the study based on the events that are seen. The results of research carried out show the communication patterns of leadership in improving work ethic of lecturer and staff through vertical patterns, horizontal patterns and diagonal patterns. Whereas the implementation of Islamic communication Principles at Asahan University are Qaulan Sadīdā, Maīysūrā Qaulan, Ma'rūfā Qaulan, Layyinā Qaulan, Karīma Qaulan and Balighā Qaulan. Barriers in improving work ethic of lecturer and staff include mental attitude, primordial relation, welfare levels and improper placement of work fields.

The design of IQF-oriented ARCS-based learning model

This article is a summary of some second year research reports of the three years research plan financed by Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRCS). This research aims to develop a learning model based on Attention, Relevance, Confidence and Satisfaction (ARCS) theory oriented towards Indonesian Qualification Framework (IQF) that was applied to mathematical statistics course. The stages of development of this learning model were following Plomp’s learning model development process. Plomp’s model has three stages namely: (1) preliminary stage; (2) prototype stage; (3) assessment stage. After went through experts validation process, appeal validation, and several revisions, in this second year, the implementation of this research had stepped on the beginning of assessment stage, limited trial. At this stage, technical assessment was carried out using practicality and effectiveness tests. Main focus of this stage is on field trials to find out whether the prototype model and all learning tools that have been produced are practical and effective. The field trials were conducted at three universities in North Sumatera, namely Undergraduate and Graduate School of State University of Medan, Undergraduate and Graduate School of Muslim Nusantara Medan University and Graduate School of Asahan University. This paper is only reporting the field trial’s result done in Undergraduate School of Mathematics Education Program in State University of Medan. In State University of Medan, the trial was held twice. First was in class A followed by 21 students and second was in class B followed by 40 students. From the results of the first and second trials obtained that all of the learning tools consist of student textbook, lecturer hand book, student work sheets, and other supporting tools indicated high validity. Moreover, there is an enhancement of students’ ability to understand about mathematical statistics. Highest score in the first trial significantly increased from 80.5 to 94.5 in the second trial. While lowest score also significantly increased from 40,5 to 58,0 and average score increased from 63.5 to 74.4 in the second trial.

PENGEMBANGAN APLIKASI MOBILE LEARNING PADA MATA KULIAH PEMROGRAMAN CLIENT SERVER UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PRESTASI BELAJAR MAHASISWA

ABSTRACT- This study aims to design interactive multimedia for computer client server programming with Android-based so that it can be accessed via smartphone. Client server programming course is one of compulsory subjects in Informatics Engineering course. With the realization of multimedia is expected to shorten the learning time of students, and students can more easily understand the material of client server programming rather than through the tutorial tutorial as usual, and is expected to improve learning achievement. This multimedia realization chose to use the Android operating system to be accessible through smartphone that is currently widely used by the students. This interactive multimedia presents theories, simulations and problems as the evaluation of client server programming learning. The results of this interactive multimedia will be tested through the test instrument to the students on the study program of Informatika Technique of Asahan University. Instrument test used to know student achievement. Test instrument used is a questionnaire instrument to determine the quality of interactive multimedia computer network courses. Multimedia is designed using the main software such as Macromedia Flash, Macromedia Director, and Macromedia Authorware and Eclipse 4.2 along with supporting applications. The material to be delivered on interactive multimedia is tailored to the syllabus of client server programming courses on Strata 1 level. The expected research output is in the form of teaching materials for the enrichment of client server programming subjects and multimedia technology and will be socialized through the national seminar in the field of informatic engineering.
