Research on the Application of the Spirit of Huizhou Ancient Architectural Places in Modern Architectural Design

This study aims to explore the application strategies of the spirit of Huizhou ancient architectural places in modern architectural design. Through in-depth analysis of the connotations of the spirit of Huizhou ancient architectural places, and analysis of its association with modern architectural design concepts, application strategies in aspects such as spatial layout, materials and textures, and decorative arts are proposed. Moreover, the problems faced during the application process and the corresponding solutions are discussed, so as to realize the organic integration of traditional culture and modern architectural design and promote the inheritance of regional culture and the innovative development of modern architecture.

Translating Four-Character Structures in Chinese Literary Works on Traditional Architecture—A Case Analysis of Canal Towns South of the Yangtze and Folk Houses South of the Yangtze

Traditional Chinese architecture boasts a unique style and profound cultural connotations. Accordingly, the related literary works attain value for international dissemination. The four-character structures in these works serve as concise expressions for describing architectural details and design concepts. However, due to their linguistic implicitness, grammatical structure diversity, and rich cultural images, their translation into English requires multidimensional shift, redundancy elimination, and the avoidance of cultural defaults. This research has developed an effective translation workflow that leverages the synergistic strengths of Large Language Models (LLMs) and the human translator. By strategically employing tailored methods and techniques, it addresses the challenges in the translation process. Analysis suggests: It is recommended that the technique of shift be employed to address the implicit content and complex grammatical structures in translating four-character structures in Chinese literary works on traditional architecture into English. Besides, the selective application of combination and omission can help deal with information redundancy. Furthermore, it is advisable to apply foreignization and a combined method of literal translation and paraphrasing in conveying cultural images. These approaches will, to a certain extent, convert the untranslatability of four-character structures into translatability, enhancing the dissemination of the essence of traditional Chinese architecture.

ARCHITECTURE DESIGN OF HEALTH ASSET DETECTION SYSTEM IN HOSPITAL

Efficient management of hospital assets is essential to ensure that operations can run optimally and the quality of health services is good. However, the recording and management of assets in hospitals carried out manually often causes data errors, information mismatches, and also assets are only known by the manager without being explicitly recorded. In overcoming this problem, the researcher aims to develop a hospital asset detection system architecture using an iterative and incremental methodology approach. The stages of this system development include identification of needs and conceptual models, logical architecture design, conceptual architecture design, logical architecture, physical architecture, technology selection, and evaluation. This system utilizes YOLO model reading technology for asset detection and identification, storing detection results into a local database using SQLite3, sending data to a central server via API, and post-processing data by selecting the highest confidence score stored in a MySQL database and then using the data to manage asset management and asset visualization. The implementation of this system successfully reduces manual recording time, improves asset visibility, and optimizes resource usage, thus contributing to the improvement of efficiency and quality of health services.

Leaders must ensure platform design is durable, scalable, and can handle peak traffic without performance deterioration. The article explores microservices architectures, containerization, and cloud-native solutions for scalability and flexibility. Effective data management and caching are also investigated to improve platform performance and user experience. Security is another important paper topic. E-commerce sites are obvious targets for cyberattacks, therefore executives must employ robust security measures. Indoor space thermal cycle design and animation 3D modeling based on digital light processing technology

With the continuous development of architectural design concepts, the thermal cycle optimization of interior space has become an important topic to improve energy efficiency and comfort. The introduction of digital light processing (DLP) technology provides new possibilities for 3D modeling and thermal cycle analysis. This study uses digital light processing technology to design and optimize the thermal cycle of indoor space, and explores its application in real-time animation 3D modeling to provide a more intuitive visual display. DLP technology is used to build a three-dimensional model of interior space, and heat flow analysis software is combined to simulate the thermal cycle of different design schemes. The dynamic simulation method was used to analyze the change of heat circulation in the exhibition room and its influence on the indoor environment. The results show that the indoor thermal cycle optimized by DLP technology can effectively improve the heat distribution uniformity and energy efficiency utilization, and the simulation results show that the improved scheme has significant advantages in thermal comfort. This study proves the feasibility and effectiveness of digital light processing technology in indoor space thermal cycle design, and provides a new idea for future architectural design and thermal cycle management.

APPLICATION OF COLONIAL ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN TO "BANDOENG TEMPO DOELOE" IN KOTA BARU PARAHYANGAN

Architects have an important role in determining the developmentof architecture. Colonial era architectural style is an architecturaldesign concept that was applied during the Dutch colonial period.Inside there are various architectural styles that are quite differentfrom time to time. This architectural style is divided into 3, namelyIndische Empire, Transitional Colonial Architecture, and ModernColonial Architecture. The development of colonial architecture inIndonesia can be seen from the existence of buildings that adoptEuropean architectural styles in various big cities on the island ofJava, such as Jakarta, Bandung, Jogja, Semarang, and Surabaya.Traces of Colonial Architecture in Bandung can be seen frombuildings in conservation areas such as the Braga area, Dago, andalso in the Diponegoro Street area or the Gasibu area of Bandung.Kota Baru Parahyangan is one of the largest independent cities inthe Greater Bandung area which has a development concept orhistorical pillar, namely having a house building design withcolonial architectural style in the "Bandoeng Tempo Doeloe"corridor area. Based on this development concept, the author aimsto discuss articles on the concept of colonial architecture in the"Bandoeng Tempo Doeloe" area. In addition, the author also hopesthat the discussion of this article can provide a lesson for thegeneral public about colonial architecture, especially in theBandung area. The results of the discussion of this article concludethat the buildings in the "Bandoeng Tempo Doeloe" area adapt tothe three colonial architectural styles, most of which refer tomodern colonial architecture.

Application Research of Green Building Design Based on BIM Technology

This paper aims to investigate the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology in green building design. Green building design, as a sustainable architectural design concept, holds significant environmental and economic benefits. Meanwhile, BIM technology, as a tool for digital modeling and collaborative work, provides new possibilities for green building design. This study explores the application effectiveness, challenges, and opportunities of BIM technology in green building design through case analysis. The research findings demonstrate that green building design based on BIM technology can enhance design efficiency, optimize resource utilization, reduce environmental impact, and contribute to the sustainable development of the construction industry. However, this application still faces challenges regarding technology, data consistency, and collaboration mechanisms. Future research should focus on addressing these challenges to further promote the development of green building design based on BIM technology.

Design strategies for addressing COVID-19 issues in buildings

The past COVID-19 pandemic has created new demand and expectations for next-generation buildings. Besides proper indoor air quality (IAQ) and daylight in the indoor environment, the building should provide appropriate working conditions. Due to this pandemic, millions have spent longer hours indoors over the past few years. It is imperative to address a multi-objective and multi-function design to control air circulation in the building's shared and isolated spaces while maintaining energy efficiency, humidity control, and other performance standards. This paper analyzed two architectural design concepts that can eliminate energy usage and daylighting inefficiencies and increase the ventilation rate to reduce indoor transmission of airborne particulates and pathogens and unwanted indoor humidity. We have analyzed the impact of courtyards and atria in typical commercial buildings based on architectural principles and practical experience to create a safe and healthy indoor environment for working and living that will improve indoor protection against the past COVID-19 and future similar virus pandemics. The results show that the use of a courtyard or atrium in design builds a positive effect on controlling the indoor environment.

Title: Implementation’s Analysis of Tropical Architectural Design Concepts at Alila Seminyak Hotel, Bali Tropical architecture is born from efforts to adjust to the climate in the tropics. Tropical architectural design always shows the form of adaptation of buildings to the environment. Traditional Balinese houses that function as community residential units are one of the tropical architectural typologies with the main advantage of thermal comfort, especially on air circulation flow that flows well throughout the building. However, when reviewing further commercial buildings in Bali, especially star hotels, the implementation of tropical architecture is a theme that requires deep design thinking. Adjustment to Balinese regional regulations on buildings is very binding; limited sites and demands for comfort and suitability of building functions are challenging for architects to design an accommodation building with a tropical architectural concept. Alila Seminyak Hotel is one of the five-star hotels outside the ITDC Nusa Dua area, which tries to form a tropical architectural identity as the main attraction. This qualitative descriptive research takes the case study of Alila Seminyak Hotel. Assessment analysis was carried out on the physical form of the hotel building, which was then appropriated and compared with tropical architectural theory. The results of this study show that the implementation of tropical architecture in the Alila Seminyak hotel building can be classified into several main elements, namely, first is the form of laying the building period on-site, second is the orientation pattern of the building, and third is The physical design of the building emphasizes, that this building have three main concept designs, it is namely insulation, shading, and cross ventilation.

The concept of architectural reliability of software for ensuring the functioning of request-free measuring stations

The article proposes the concept of architectural reliability of software included in the hardware and software complex of request-free measuring stations. This concept is based on previously completed activities to shape the appearance of a complex of hardware and software for the functioning of measuring stations. It is noted that in order to solve problems related to increasing the architectural reliability of software, the security functions and information and logical interaction of the components of the measuring station are essential. Since software architecture is determined by the concept of architectural design, the work presents the stages of designing a complex software system. The description provided includes the basic operations of architectural design, with decomposition necessary to structure and organize system specifications. The final stage lists the main steps that should be taken to enhance the strategic influence of the software architecture on the functionality and reliability of the set of technical means for ensuring the operation of request-free measuring stations.

Associations between real-time, self-reported adolescent mental health and urban and architectural design concepts

ABSTRACT Urban environments influence mental health and development of younger populations. Around 50% of lifetime mental illnesses begin at or prior to the age of 14 years old, and global urbanization trends are forecasted to continue into the coming decades, making links between urban spaces and youth mental health especially important. Little extant research explores links between urban environments, and especially distinct urban design exposures, and adolescent (ages 9–17) mental health. This study uses on-site, ecological momentary assessment (i.e. real-time) surveys and adjusted linear mixed models to explore associations between adolescent (n = 70) mental health indicators and multiple pedestrian design and architecture concepts. Results indicated several significant associations. Notably, spaces high in complexity (visual richness), imageability (distinctiveness), and enclosure (room-like quality) tended to support positive affect. Additionally, mixed built-natural spaces scoring high in scale (pedestrian amenities) and complexity appeared to increase calmness and mitigate anxiousness, while biophilic architecture (nature in built design) seemed to support perceived restorativeness. Practice implications include recommendations for planners to consider implementing natural forms of enclosure (e.g. tall trees), imageability (e.g. natural landmarks), and/or complexity (e.g. variety of gardens/shrubs) in or around spaces frequented by adolescents (e.g. schoolyards) to promote psychological well-being, and design socially supportive environments.

Laser-Doppler Anemometry for detection of the velocity field in the ventilated, asymmetrically heated channel - a case study

The topic of double-skin façades (DSFs) is re-emerging in the research environment, with studies ranging from architectural design concepts to specific investigations of heat and mass transfer in a vertical channel. These studies reflect a lack of comprehension of the phenomena taking place within the DSF cavities. This work presents a case study, where the Laser-Doppler Anemometry principle, combined with video registration of smoke movement, is used to establish the velocity and flow patterns in an asymmetrically heated ventilated channel in a controlled environment. The authors of this work contribute to the research field by addressing the pros and cons of the Laser-Doppler Anemometry approach for the measurement of the vertical velocity component in a DSF and presenting an example of obtained experimental results for the validation of CFD models. The results of this work address the velocity distribution for the vertical 2D cross plane of the DSF cavity. The analysis of the measurement data includes an assessment of the stability of the flow and fluctuations throughout the measurement period.

The application and value of curved roof in modern architecture

The roof is an essential component of a building and is sometimes referred to the "fifth facade" by modern architects. It serves as a load-bearing element as well as being a significant aspect of the building's overall appearance. Throughout history, architects have often used the roof as a way to express their own distinctive design ideas. The primary area of research covered in this essay is the application and value of curved roofs in modern architecture. The article will start with the development of curved roofs from modern surface architectural design concepts and architectural science and technology, then select actual building cases to analyze the structure of curved roofs, materials, and design concept, and from the building bionic design, the user's space feeling, and the urban environment, the three aspects to explore its unique value in architecture. It is hoped that this will serve as a reference for future architectural design.

The ‘Z-Free’ Home: A Circular Thinking and Eco-Cycle Design Practice

In recent years, the need for affordable sustainable housing has increased. At the same time, there has been a gradual rising interest in compact living. With the mounting impacts of climate change, a new way of thinking is needed to develop more resilient and climate responsive ways of living that are compact, affordable, and climate-conscious. In response to this need, the idea of a ‘Z-Free Home’ was born. The ‘Z-Free Home’ is a tiny mobile house equipped with essential passive and eco-cycle systems that achieves nine zero targets. The main design and construction concept is based on circular design and a return to nature life cycle principles. In this paper, the architectural design concept, building energy modelling, and simulation for the Z-Free Home design proposal is discussed. This paper describes the concept design and design development phases together with building modelling and simulation. A focus was made on the use of virtual reality in design development assessment as a new method for evaluating passive and eco-cycle systems. The results show that it’s possible to achieve nine different zero goals while the analysis illustrates the challenges in achieving them. The paper also described the next steps planned for the proof of concept, i.e., the 1:1 house model. The project is ongoing, and it aims at a full-scale physical prototype as a proof of concept for the zero targets. The ‘Z-Free Home’ is designed for the cold Swedish climate but could be more widely applicable in other mild climates as well as hot climates.

IMPLEMENTASI PENGGUNA ARTIFICIAL INTELEGENT (AI) PADA PLATFORM MIDJOURNEY DALAM ITERASI ARSITEKTUR

The field of architecture has experienced spectacular developments over the years. The reason is that in the Industrial 4.0 era, various breakthroughs and disruptions to the world of architecture have resulted in rapid developments that enable the design process to create more unique and more complex designs. AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology which is currently developing in various scientific fields has the potential for future architectural developments. One of the popular AI developments is the ability to convert images into text which provides potential in the architectural iteration process or what is better known as the phase of looking for reference ideas in the schematic stage. The process of converting certain text or keywords into images can actually help architects to find patterns and shapes that suit preferences, speeding up the design process and producing efficient designs. In addition, AI can predict design performance in various scenarios. It is an attempt to use artificial intelligence to explore early architectural design concepts. The data analysis method used in this research was to observe the effect of using keywords in creating prompts or commands for AI on Midjourney and then comparing them with the results of other images. After the comparative study, it will be measured to what extent the use of AI is implemented in certain situations or conditions in the Architectural Iteration phase that occurs. Based on the results of image analysis, the prompt arrangement is also a control variable used to create specific drawings in creating architectural concept iterations consisting of "Object Type, Material Type, Architectural Style, Architect Name, Style Render, View, Environment/Background and Type of Lighting" With the results of the prompt translation, it can be concluded that the more specific the order of the prompts used as keywords, the more specific the resulting image will be, in this case we can exercise control over the image that we want to generate.

The article is devoted to the analysis of problems and experience of conducting research on the implementation of Smart Grid and Demand Response concepts in power supply systems with sources of distributed, decentralized generation and active consumers in power systems. The issue of finding ways to solve the scientific and technical problems of implementing the concepts of Smart Grid and Demand Response when solving the tasks of designing and building local electric power systems, taking into account the peculiarities of their functioning in the unified energy system of Ukraine was considered. The range of under-researched problems of decentralized management development in the retail segment of the electricity market in the organization of micro-markets based on the application of modern approaches of multi-agent management and block chain technology for the business processes organization is outlined. The main tasks of the conceptual design of the new market architecture of micro-markets on local electricity systems and their integration into the existing systems of organizational, operational-technological and information management of the electricity market are presented. Micro-markets are actually developing and, with experience, can become a driver for the post-war development of the market infrastructure in terms of the simultaneous implementation and practical application the Smart Grid and Demand Response principles for the implementation of technical solutions at the retail market level.
