Integration of Design Sprint Method into Mobile Development Application Life Cycle to Create MobilePQI Application Prototype

This study aims to create a mobile-based learning application that can be used to support blended learning. Blended Learning is carried out synchronously, either online using Zoom or Google Meet, or offline in the classroom. asynchronous learning is implemented using MobilePQI Apps. MobilePQI Apps was developed using the Kotlin programming tool and MADLC methodology (Mobile Application Development Life Cycle). MADLC consists of seven stages: Identification; Design; Development; Prototyping; Testing; Deployment; and Maintenance. We use design sprint method and figma to create design prototype, and Kotlin development kit. The testing method used heuristics evaluation which tests 10 usability principles. The number of questions asked was 115, with 5 respondents consisting of 3 students and 3 lecturers. The results of the heuristics evaluation score were 89% of respondents answered YES. That it can be concluded that the 10 usability principles of the prototype was acceptable. The SUS results show a score of 74, which means the application's user interface is in the Good and acceptable category.

Covid Classification System for Covid Detection

The ongoing global pandemic, which has now become an endemic has had a significant impact on the educational sector. Despite advancements in technology, there is no real- time prevention of COVID-19 transmission especially UiTM Tapah students that must go through crowd to reach health unit and have high possibility of spreading the disease. This research aims to develop a mobile application by utilizing machine learning for UiTM Tapah students to classify their COVID-19 status. To ensure a systematic and efficient development process, the research adopted the Mobile Application Development Life Cycle (MADLC) methodology. Within the application, the core of the machine learning functionality lies in the implementation of an Artificial Neural Network (ANN). By using 5,434 samples of data that had previously been classified by previous studies that analyzed student data such as symptoms to identify potential cases of the virus. The ANN approach performed greatly with the accuracy of 98%. Feedback from 32 respondents helped identify students' difficulties during the pandemic, which results in majority of the respondents agreeing that MCO affecting them adapting to online learning, and access to healthcare facilities. Furthermore, the usability testing conducted using the System Usability Scale (SUS) provided valuable insights into the system's user-friendliness and effectiveness. The results indicated a high level of usability, with a SUS score of 88.3 from 30 UiTM Tapah students while 76.25 from UiTM Tapah lecturers. This system was usable to classify the risk of infection among students who had not yet been diagnosed, while having some room for improvements. The system's ability to identify infected individuals promptly and accurately aided in controlling the spread of the virus, thereby protecting both students and staff. Thus, the classification system by using ANN was a valuable tool for public health organizations in their efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

In software development, it is necessary to plan carefully, so that the software developed is in accordance with user needs. Software development without good planning will result in a patchwork of software development. To avoid the patchwork of software development, a software development framework is required. The research "Developing Restaurant Operational Applications With Scrum Framework (Case Study: PT.XYZ Restaurant)" aims to develop restaurant operational software at PT. XYZ. The software development framework used in software development uses the Scrum framework. The Scrum framework is a variant of the Agile framework. Agile has a dynamic way of working (iterative and incremental). The Scrum framework has a product backlog, then the product backlog is divided into several sprints. One sprint will be run in one iteration, so that each end of a product sprint that meets the definition of “Done” must be achieved. The use of the Scrum framework emphasizes communication and collaboration between various stakeholders. The result of this research is a software that helps restaurant operations at PT. XYZ starting from master files, transactions files, to reports files. By using the Scrum framework in application development, the application development life cycle is created. The Development of a Rental Equipment Mobile Application for UiTM Shah Alam Malay and Bumiputera Students (Rent2U)

This project is regarding the development of a mobile application for rental equipment for UiTM Shah Alam Malay and Bumiputera students. The reason for the development of this project is to help the Malay and Bumiputera students to rent items and equipment they needed. Based on the previous study, most students in UiTM Shah Alam are those who have financial problems and came from a low-income family or household, known as B40. Therefore, this mobile application for rental equipment would be able to solve problems such as the inability in buying new items and belongings (or equipment). In some cases, students are required to have specific items to attend a one-time event without overspending and are unable to explore new hobbies due to financial limitations. As such, this project aims to develop an Android-based mobile application called Rent2U that can help UiTM Shah Alam students, especially those who come from a B40 family to rent items, and equipment they needed. The objectives of this project are to identify the requirements, to design and develop the equipment rental mobile applications for UiTM Shah Alam students. The chosen methodology for the development of this mobile application is Mobile Application Development Lifecycle (MADLC) and covered up until the testing phase only. The outcome of this project is the mobile application for rental equipment, which has features like geolocation to find nearby items and equipment for rentals, a search function to find items and equipment and push notifications to alert the users about the listings that have been created by them for rental. Hence, the significance of this project is that it can help the students in need to rent and lend items and equipment by providing them a platform to lend their belongings, and at the same time be able to rent items and equipment they like or need. For future enhancements, this application may include a variety of options for the users to pay such as online banking, and credit card, among others. In addition, this application may also include goods and equipment verification to avoid renting any dangerous items.

Recognition of Hijaiyah Letters with Punctuation Using Augmented Reality

Learning hijaiyah letters is an initial step to reading the Al-Qur'an. Because the Al-Qur'an is written in Arabic using hijaiyah letters with special punctuation. Currently, learning hijaiyah letters still uses simple media in the form of books, posters, display boards, etc. so it is less interesting. The rapid development of technology allows mobile devices to become smartphones that can be used as learning media. Therefore, mobile devices can be used for learning hijaiyah letters to make them more attractive. One technology that can be utilized is Augmented Reality which can combine the virtual world with the real world in the form of 3D through applications accessed on mobile devices. This research developed the introduction of hijaiyah letters equipped with punctuation and pronunciation using marker based augmented reality. The development of mobile application applies the Mobile Application Development Lifecycle (MADLC) method. The development of augmented reality applications utilizing Blender, Vuforia and Unity 3D Game Engine. The results of the Black box testing show that all functional requirements have been met and are running well.

Career Finder System using Rule-Based Filtering for University Student Candidates

As a current reality, students are frequently questioned about a suitable career path for the future, but they are unaware of the jobs offered by current industries. Moreover, students seeking university admission frequently encounter difficulties selecting courses and educational programs, and they are confronted with a variety of available courses. This research aims to make a mobile application for students to obtain employment career options appropriate to their educational qualifications because student is often asked about a suitable career for their future but have no idea about the available career path that appropriate. The methodology that implements in this research is Mobile Application Development Life Cycle (MADLC) that have four phases which is identification, design, development, and testing. The Visual Studio Code with Flutter plugin is used to develop the mobile application and its function. Firebase is used to get the database to store all the data and works as backend function of the application. The finished system was tested accordingly based on the functionality that listed all available function of the system. The system considers students' educational qualifications and academic achievements to provide personalized recommendations. This system can assist students in making career decisions and pursuing the right career path, saving them time, and reducing the risk of making wrong choices. This research indicates understanding the importance of career decision-making for students before continuing their university studies. In conclusion, this research seeks to enhance the ability of students to make decision of the available career path provided through recommendation system.

Post-Refactoring Recovery of Unit Tests: An Automated Approach

— In application development lifecycle, specifically in test-driven development, refactoring plays a crucial role in sustaining ease. However, in-spite of bringing ease, refactoring does not ensure the desired behaviour of code after it is applied. Because refactoring tends to worsen the alignments between source code and its corresponding units. One significant solution to the aforementioned issue is the technique called unit testing. As unit testing enable the developers to confidently apply refactoring while avoiding undesired code behaviour. Unit testing provides effective preventive measures for avoiding bugs by providing immediate feedback, thus assisting to mitigate the fear of change. In this work, we present a tool called GreenRefPlus which efficiently enables the developers to maintain the veracity of code after the process of refactoring is applied. The proposed tool provides automatic recovery for the unit tests after the code is refactored. In this work, we consider Java as our target programming language and we focus on five various types of refactoring, which include Rename Method, Extract Method, Move Method, Parameter Addition and Parameter Removal. Our experiments indicate that the proposed tool GreenRefPlus enables us to consistently refactor the code and apply unit tests. The results presented in our work reveal that the proposed tool assists developers in saving approximately 43% of the total time required to manually recover from broken unit tests.

Immersive Visualization of Python Coding Using Virtual Reality

The main goal of this study is to develop a mobile Virtual Reality (VR) application to conduct basic Python coding skills for university students who are struggling to learn to code. This study employs a quasi-experimental method to examine the difference in the efficiency of VR and traditional learning methods by evaluating the students' performance. Thirty students between 18 to 22 years old participated. The participants were divided into two control groups, in which one group used the conventional python learning method while another implemented the VR application in python learning. Unity 3D was used as the application development tool with Mobile Application Development Lifecycle (MADLC). The developed VR application was employed using Google cardboard to create an immersive VR experience. Usability tests, hypothesis tests, Presence Questionnaires (PQ) and system usability scale (SUS) are used as evaluation tools. Findings illustrated how learning through VR has yielded better performance than the conventional learning method. In hypothesis testing, the VR learning method suggested more effective learning with t_statistic value of 4.992, a more considerable value than t_critical=2.76. 73% of the participants rated above 68 out of 100, which indicated high levels of satisfaction with the use of the mobile VR application to learn Python. In short, the VR method is perceived to be useful and convenient to help students learn at any place and time.

Designing an Android-based Nursing Theory Reminder of Educational Game Application (GEMPITA)

Nursing theory is an important thing to learn for nursing students. Nursing theory can be studied by students in philosophy and nursing theory courses. It can be seen from the results of the final evaluation that students obtained sufficient scores of 49%. This has an impact on the student achievement index and student professionalism in carrying out nursing practice, both in clinical practice and later when they have worked in nursing services. The learning method used by lecturers is to form groups and give assignments to students in the form of papers and presentation in the form of powerpoints in front of the class. Therefore, researchers try to make a learning innovation in the form of an android-based educational game. This educational game is called the nursing theory reminder education game (GEmPITA). This study aimed to design an android-based GEmPITA as an innovation for students’ learning media in philosophy and nursing theory courses. Mobile application development lifecycle model (MADLC) with 7 stages including the rapid application development method, with 3 stages, namely requirement planning, design system, and implementation. The results of this study are in the form of a prototype of an android-based game application that will be used by nursing students. By making the GEmPITA, an interactive educational game, students can learn nursing knowledge in a more fun way and make learning nursing science easier.

BOOK4WASH: Mobile car wash booking system

The need for car wash services nowadays is increasing since most car owners are too busy to wash their automobiles themselves. Nowadays, car wash facilities give numerous car wash or car detailing services such as foam washing, waxing, and polishing, which are handy for consumers. However, there are certain limits revealed that customers must queue up for a long period till their turn. During busy hours, clients could have to wait for a few hours, which wastes customers’ time. Besides, it is problematic for people living in apartments because there is no place for them to wash their cars. Other than that, most individuals are frightened to leave their homes because worried about the COVID-19 virus. Hence, the recommended solutions in this application can address the issues by integrating the booking system while being online. The Mobile Application Development Life Cycle (MADLC) has been used as a methodology for the entire research, including all phases except the deployment and maintenance phases. The purpose of this research is to make it more convenient for the user by providing door-to-door vehicle wash services at shopping malls, parking lots, places of employment, residential driveways, and other locations.

SATO (IDEAS expAnded wiTh BCIO): Workflow for designers of patient-centered mobile health behaviour change intervention applications

Designing effective theory-driven digital behaviour change interventions (DBCI) is a challenging task. To ease the design process, and assist with knowledge sharing and evaluation of the DBCI, we propose the SATO (IDEAS expAnded wiTh BCIO) design workflow based on the IDEAS (Integrate, Design, Assess, and Share) framework and aligned with the Behaviour Change Intervention Ontology (BCIO). BCIO is a structural representation of the knowledge in behaviour change domain supporting evaluation of behaviour change interventions (BCIs) but it is not straightforward to utilise it during DBCI design. IDEAS (Integrate, Design, Assess, and Share) framework guides multi-disciplinary teams through the mobile health (mHealth) application development life-cycle but it is not aligned with BCIO entities. SATO couples BCIO entities with workflow steps and extends IDEAS Integrate stage with consideration of customisation and personalisation. We provide a checklist of the activities that should be performed during intervention planning with concrete examples and a tutorial accompanied with case studies from the Cancer Better Life Experience (CAPABLE) European project. In the process of creating this workflow, we found the necessity to extend the BCIO to support the scenarios of multiple clinical goals in the same application. To ensure the SATO steps are easy to follow for the incomers to the field, we performed a preliminary evaluation of the workflow with two knowledge engineers, working on novel mHealth app design tasks.

Development of an Online Hotel Reservation System in Sri Lanka using Cutting-Edge Technologies

The hotel management system is an important aspect of contemporary hotel life since it assures the hotel's correct operation, making it efficient and enabling the opportunity to reserve a room online. It contains information on the rooms and the hotel as a whole for the staff and administration. This technology eliminates the majority of the paperwork, making it a must-have tool for any modern hotel. The present reservation system is analyzed and improved. The purpose of this paper is to offer a thorough examination of the system. Make an effort to enhance the existing condition in the hotel management industry. In addition, a modest prototype built using cutting-edge technologies MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js (MERN stack) will be discussed. This will showcase how the system would operate from the client and administrator sides. The MERN stack is an excellent choice for hotels wishing to develop high-quality web applications. In fact, this stack enables the rapid development of online applications and software in addition to leveraging high-performance and customized technologies. The mentioned system was shown to be significantly more affordable, an open-source program with superior performance, and UI rendering by using these technologies. In addition to assessing the value of an online reservation system for Sri Lanka's hotel industry, this paper will examine how the environment's components should be set up, integrated, and built, as well as how the requirements, design, construction, and test phases of the application development lifecycle should be combined to create an overall system and how a developer would actually go about creating applications that would be used in practical situations.

Design, Development, and Evaluation of the Blood Collection Management Workstation.

To design and develop a blood collection management workstation with high usability to reduce the risk of preanalytical errors and improve patient safety. A five-phase mobile application development lifecycle model (MADLC) and experience-based co-design (EBCD) were used for design and development. Subsequently, the blood collection management workstation was evaluated using the Chinese System Usability Scale (SUS) in a general ward setting from January to June 2021. It was used on 2593 in-patients who underwent phlebotomy with 12,378 tubes being labeled. The rate of errors and meantime for blood sampling were decreased compared with the same period in the previous year. A total of 14 nurses agreed to participate in the evaluation, and the overall raw SUS score was 69.26 ± 10.39, which indicated above average results. The blood collection management workstation has shown the potential to decrease errors and improve working efficiency in a clinical setting. The study also identified some weaknesses, which will be amended in the future.

AWESOME: an auction and witness enhanced SLA model for decentralized cloud marketplaces

In recent decades, the world has witnessed cloud computing as an essential technology that changes the traditional application Development and Operation (DevOps) lifecycle. However, current cloud software DevOps and Service Level Agreement (SLA) management often face challenges of 1) selecting the best fitting service providers, customizing services and planning capacities for large-scale distributed applications; 2) guaranteeing high-quality and trustworthy SLAs among multiple service providers; 3) enhancing the interoperability of cloud services across different providers; and 4) designing effective incentive models among stakeholders. This paper proposes a novel framework called Auction and Witness Enhanced trustworthy SLA for Open, decentralized service MarkEtplaces (AWESOME) to build a trustworthy cloud marketplace and address the above challenges. The proposed framework contains four subsystems: a customizable graphical user interface, an auction-based service selection model, a witness committee management mechanism, and a smart contract factory orchestration. We developed a prototype AWESOME decentralized application (DApp) based on the Ethereum blockchain. Extensive experiments are designed to evaluate the latency and cost of our model. The experimental results demonstrate that our model is economical and feasible.

Currently, the laboratory uses computers and LAN networks as school practical tools. During initial observations at SMA 2 PGRI Palembang, they found a problem, namely the large number of students and the lack of learning facilities to carry out activities in the computer room resulting in some students not being able to fully study in the room. computer due to the limited time for students to learn. Cross-platform mobile app development for disseminating public health information to travelers in Thailand: development and usability

BackgroundThe risk of disease is a key factor that travelers have identified when planning to travel abroad, as many people are concerned about getting sick. Mobile devices can be an effective means for travelers to access information regarding disease prevalence in their planned destinations, potentially reducing the risk of exposure.MethodsWe developed a mobile app, ThaiEpidemics, using cross-platform technology to provide information about disease prevalence and status for travelers to Thailand. We aimed to assess the app’s usability in terms of engagement, search logs, and effectiveness among target users. The app was developed using the principle of mobile application development life cycle, for both iOS and Android. As its data source, the app used weekly data from national disease-surveillance reports. We conduced our study among visitors to the Travel Clinic in the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. The participants were informed that the app would collect usage and search logs related to their queries. After the second log-in, the app prompted participants to complete an e-survey regarding their opinions and preferences related to their awareness of disease prevalence and status.ResultsWe based our prototype of ThaiEpidemics on a conceptualized framework for visualizing the distribution of 14 major diseases of concern to tourists in Southeast Asia. The app provided users with functions and features to search for and visualize disease prevalence and status in Thailand. The participants could access information for their current location and elsewhere in the country. In all, 83 people installed the app, and 52 responded to the e-survey. Regardless of age, education, and continent of origin, almost all e-survey respondents believed the app had raised their awareness of disease prevalence and status when travelling. Most participants searched for information for all 14 diseases; some searched for information specifically about dengue and malaria.ConclusionsThaiEpidemics is evidently potentially useful for travelers. Should the app be adopted for use by travelers to Thailand, it could have an impact on wider knowledge distribution, which might result in decreased exposure, increased prophylaxis, and therefore a potential decreased burden on the healthcare system. For app developers who are developing/implementing this kind of app, it is important to address standardization of the data source and users’ concerns about the confidentiality and safety of their mobile devices.

The level of crime that afflicts households such as theft and robbery is still common. Many thefts occur when the homeowner is away and the house is staying for a long time. Although some residential neighborhoods already have security officers, human limitations can be a gap for perpetrators of theft. To overcome this, we need a guard who is always there to monitor the house to avoid theft. In this case the risk of guards on duty to guard the house is very large, such as acts of theft accompanied by violence. E-MDAV: A Framework for Developing Data-Intensive Web Applications

The ever-increasing adoption of innovative technologies, such as big data and cloud computing, provides significant opportunities for organizations operating in the IT domain, but also introduces considerable challenges. Such innovations call for development processes that better align with stakeholders needs and expectations. In this respect, this paper introduces a development framework based on the OMG’s Model Driven Architecture (MDA) that aims to support the development lifecycle of data-intensive web applications. The proposed framework, named E-MDAV (Extended MDA-VIEW), defines a methodology that exploits a chain of model transformations to effectively cope with both forward- and reverse-engineering aspects. In addition, E-MDAV includes the specification of a reference architecture for driving the implementation of a tool that supports the various professional roles involved in the development and maintenance of data-intensive web applications. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed E-MDAV framework, a tool prototype has been developed. E-MDAV has then been applied to two different application scenarios and the obtained results have been compared with historical data related to the implementation of similar development projects, in order to measure and discuss the benefits of the proposed approach.

Blood Mobile Application: A Blood Transfusion Management Technology

Objective: Describe the development of the BLOOD mobile application as part of a Development and Innovation Project. Methodology: Methodological study of technological innovation, developed with financial resources from the information technology law: Law No. 8.387/1991 (13), by the Laboratory of Technology in Health and Education of the School of Health Sciences of the University of the State of Amazonas. Results: For the development of the BLOOD mobile application, the basic structure of technological product development was used. The mobile application development lifecycle used was the Scrum Agile model, divided into three phases: planning, development, closing. In the planning phase, the functional and non-functional requirements of the product were defined. The construction phase involved the development of the visual identity, and the development of the product’s features, as well as the integration with existing systems in the healthcare facility. In the closing phase, the tests developed, licenses for use and the product validation process were described. Conclusion: The BLOOD app will bring to the market an innovation in blood transfusion management, a procedure that is still mostly performed empirically by health professionals, as it is a daily routine, especially in large hospitals and blood centers.
