Volumetric and acoustic properties of amino acids L-Leucine and L-Serine in aqueous solution of ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (ADP) at different temperatures and concentrations

The physicochemical properties of amino acids like L-Leucine and L-Serine in aqueous solution of ammonium dihydrogen Phosphate (ADP) at different temperature analysed by volumetric and acoustic methods. By using density data, apparent molar volume Vϕ, partial molar volume Vϕ0 and standard partial molar volume of transfer ΔVϕ0 have been evaluated. From speed of sound data, apparent molar isentropic compression Kϕ,s apparent partial molar isentropic compression Kϕ,s0 and partial molar isentropic compression of transfer ΔKϕ,so have been calculated. The pair and triplet interaction coefficient have also been calculated. The results have been interpreted in terms of solute–solute and solvent–solvent interactions.

Effect of proteinogenic amino acids l-serine/l-threonine on volumetric and acoustic behavior of aqueous 1-butyl-3-propyl imidazolium bromide at T = (288.15, 298.15, 308.15, 318.15) K

In the present work, density ρ, speed of sound u and FT-IR studies of l-serine and l-threonine have been carried out in (0.01, 0.03 and 0.05) mol kg−1 of 1-butyl-3-propyl imidazolium bromide ([BPim][Br]) at different temperatures (288.15 K, 298.15 K, 308.15 K, 318.15 K) at experimental pressure p = 0.1 MPa. Based on the measured densities, different thermo physical parameters like apparent molar volume Vϕ (AMV), partial molar volume Vϕ0 (PMV) and standard partial molar volume of transfer ΔVϕ0 have been calculated whereas from data of speed of sound; apparent molar isentropic compression Kϕ,s, partial molar isentropic compression Kϕ,s0 and partial molar isentropic compression of transfer ΔKϕ,s0 have been depicted. Transfer parameters have also been calculated and used to compute the pair and triplet interaction coefficients. Infrared spectral studies have also been performed in order to verify the results obtained. The work is mainly focused on prediction of various interactions present in the ternary system consisting of amino acids (AAs), 1-butyl-3-propyl imidazolium bromide ([BPim][Br]) and water.

Temperature dependent volumetric and acoustic properties of some amino acids in aqueous solutions of an antidepression drug

The interactions of amino acids (histidine, valine and glycine) with drug amitriptyline as a subordinate of temperature have been perused by combination of volumetric and acoustic methods. Densities and speeds of sound of histidine, valine and glycine in aqueous solutions of amitriptyline have been measured at T = (305.15, 310.15 and 315.15) K. Apparent molar volume Vφ, apparent molar isentropic compression kφ, s, of amino acids (solute) in binary aqueous solutions of (0.0006, 0.001, 0.002 and 0.004) mol. kg−1 amitriptyline (solvent) have been designated at reported temperatures. The mentioned parameters are used to construct the solute–solvent interactions in ternary systems. The dependency of these parameters on concentration, temperature and hydrocarbon chain length of the amino acids clearly suggest the roles of amino acids in solute-solvent interactions.

Volumetric and ultrasonic studies on interactions of ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol and triethylene glycol in aqueous solutions of glycerol at temperatures T = (293.15 K − 308.15) K

Abstract Densities and ultrasonic speed of ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol and triethylene glycol in (0.00, 0.01, 0.03, 0.05) mol kg−1 aqueous solutions of glycerol have been measured at T = (293.15, 298.15, 303.15, 308.15) K and experimental pressure p = 0.1 MPa. From the density data, the apparent molar volume Vϕ, the partial molar volume V ϕ o and the partial molar volumes of transfer Δ V ϕ o have been calculated for glycols from water to aqueous glycerol solutions. Using ultrasonic speed values apparent molar isentropic compression Kϕ,s, partial molar isentropic compression K ϕ , s o and partial molar isentropic compression of transfer Δ K ϕ , s o , have been evaluated. The pair and triplet coefficients have been computed from partial molar volumes of transfer and partial molar isentropic compression of transfer. The apparent molar isobaric expansion at infinite dilution ( ∂ V ϕ 0 / ∂ T ) p , second order derivative ( ∂ 2 V ϕ 0 / ∂ T 2 ) p have also been calculated. The parameters thus obtained have been discussed in terms of (solute–solute)/(solute–solvent) interactions prevailing in the present ternary system along with structure making/structure breaking tendency of glycols in aqueous glycerol solutions.

Structure-making behaviour of L-arginine in aqueous solution of drug ketorolac tromethamine: volumetric, compressibility and viscometric studies

ABSTRACTIn this work, density ρ, speed of sound u and viscosity η, were measured for L-arginine in aqueous ketorolac tromethamine solutions at various temperatures (293.15, 298.15, 303.15, 308.15 and 313.15 K) and at atmospheric pressure. Apparent molar volume VΦ, limiting apparent molar volume V°Φ, limiting apparent molar volume of transfer V°Φ,tr, limiting molar expansivity E°Φ, Hepler’s constant and hydration number nH were obtained using density data. Apparent molar isentropic compression KΦ,S, limiting apparent molar isentropic compression K°Φ,S, limiting apparent molar isentropic compression of transfer K°Φ,S,tr and hydration number nH were obtained using speed of sound data. Jones–Dole coefficient-B B, viscosity B-coefficients of transfer Btr, variation of B with temperature (), free energy of activation of viscous flow per mole of solvent Δμ°#2 and per mole of solute Δμ°#1 were obtained from viscosity data. The obtained results are discussed in terms of solute–solvent interactions in these systems.

Investigation on Temperature-Dependent Volumetric and Acoustical Properties of Homologous Series of Glycols in Aqueous Sorbitol Solutions

In the present study, the combination of volumetric and acoustical studies is used to investigate the interactions of ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, and triethylene glycol with sorbitol as a function of temperature. Densities and ultrasonic velocities of ethylene, diethylene, and triethylene glycol in (0.00, 0.01, 0.03, 0.05) mol·kg–1 aqueous solutions of sorbitol have been measured at temperatures T = (288.15, 298.15, 308.15, 318.15) K and experimental pressure p = 0.1 MPa. Volumetric and acoustic studies of amino acids in aqueous ionic liquid solution

Thermodynamic properties of l-threonine and l-valine in aqueous solution of 1-methyl-3-pentylimidazolium chloride, [C5mim][Cl] have been investigated by volumetric and ultrasonic properties at three different temperatures (T=(288.15, 298.15 and 308.15) K). Other properties at infinite dilution like apparent molar volume, Vϕ0 and the apparent molar isentropic compression Kϕ,S0, have also been calculated from the measured data. Conclusion drawn from volumetric and ultrasonic properties have been further supported by calculating apparent molar expansion, Eϕ0, Hepler's constant values, ∂Eϕ0∂TP, hydration numbers, nH and specific volume, vϕ. The calculated parameters are worthwhile in studying structure nurturing, solvation as well as taste behavior on the basis of various kinds of interactions present in such solutions.

Interionic interactions of glycine, l-alanine, glycylglycine and phenylalanine in aqueous 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride ionic liquid solutions at T = (288.15 to 308.15) K: Volumetric, speed of sound and viscometric measurements

Apparent molar volumes and apparent molar isentropic compression have been determined for glycine, l-alanine, glycylglycine and phenylalanine in (0.01 and 0.03) molkg−1 in aqueous solutions of 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride ([C6mim][Cl]) solutions by measurements of densities and speeds of sound at different temperatures. Apparent molar volumes Vϕ, partial molar volumes Vϕ0, transfer volumes ΔVϕ0 and hydration number, nH are evaluated using density data. Apparent molar isentropic compression Kϕ,s, partial molar isentropic compression Kϕ,S0, transfer isentropic compression ΔKϕ,S0, and hydration number, nH have been calculated using speeds of sound data. The viscosity data have been analyzed by means of the Jones–Dole equation to obtain A and B-coefficients, free energy of activation of viscous flow per mole of solvent, Δμ10∗, and solute, Δμ20∗, enthalpy, ΔH0∗, and entropy of activation, ΔS0∗of viscous flow were evaluated. The behavior of these parameters has been interpreted in terms of solute–solute and solute–solvent interactions.
