The practice of polygamy existed long before Islam and became a permitted habit. Unfortunately, many people think that polygamy is a practice that only became known after the advent of Islam. Ironically, Islam is considered to have a monopoly and legalizes polygamy. In reality, Islam came to limit the movement towards polygamous marriages with certain limits. Justice in polygamy is an obligation that must receive special attention, because the word "fair" is very easy to say but difficult to implement. In this research the author focuses on verses from the Koran and hadith related to polygamy, namely; Surah An-Nisa' verse 3 and several authentic hadiths related to polygamy. This type of research is completely library research (library research) taking data from literature that is related to the research theme. The analysis technique in this writing uses a content analysis model by exploring and analyzing the thoughts or views of scholars regarding verses of the Koran and hadith related to polygamy.
