The Internet has significantly enhanced employee connectedness in the workplace, eclipsing the antiquated brick-and-mortar model. Nonetheless, as information technology advances, cyberbullying has grown in popularity in the professional environment. Cyberbullying is not geographically, temporally, or milieu-specific. Arguments concerning this ubiquitous danger have plagued scholars and professionals for several decades as they debated its conception, prevalence, and implications. The current research digs into many facets of cyberbullying to facilitate the creation of constructive policies and effectively manage the labor environment. Additionally, a few ideas and remedies are offered, as well as the future course of action for effectively addressing the crucial issue of cyberbullying.

Non-tariff Measures in Services Sector: a PPML Analysis

ABSTRACT The paper presents an analysis of the tariff equivalent (AVEs) of regulations in the services sector, employing sectoral-level estimates derived from the gravity equation. Our findings indicate that advancements in information and communication technology have diminished the significance of traditional factors such as geographical distance and historical ties. Furthermore, we observe a positive correlation between trade barriers in the services sector and a nation’s level of economic development, suggesting that adherence to regulations tends to increase with per capita income. Moreover, our analysis reveals heterogeneity in protectionism across different sectors, with an apparent indirect relationship with the developmental stage of a country. On average, the gas sector emerges as the most heavily protected sector, whereas the air transport sector is relatively more open. AVE values across all sectors, Luxembourg, Singapore, Belgium, and Ireland emerge as the most open economies, while Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, and Tajikistan are the most restrictive.

A Systematic Review of Critical Thinking Development in Information and Communication Technology-Supported English as a Foreign Language Teaching from 2015 to 2024

Critical thinking is an essential skill for students in the 21st century and plays a pivotal role in language education. With the rapid advancement of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), English as a Foreign Language (EFL) education has significantly benefited from tools that support the development of critical thinking. While existing research has examined the impact of ICT on critical thinking in EFL classrooms, there is a lack of systematic reviews focusing specifically on the role of ICT tools in enhancing critical thinking within EFL teaching. This systematic review aims to address that gap by examining recent advancements and the effectiveness of ICT tools used in EFL instruction to foster critical thinking from 2015 to 2024, with a focus on tools such as digital mapping, WebQuest, and online games. The findings indicate that communicative, informative, and constructive ICT tools are widely used in EFL classrooms and are particularly effective in enhancing analysis, evaluation, and inference skills. This study provides an in-depth analysis of how these technologies are currently applied in EFL education to foster critical thinking skills. Additionally, the study also provides guidance for future research, highlighting the need to expand the use of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR), and explore their integration into diverse EFL contexts to maximize their potential in promoting critical thinking.

Meneroka Pengajian Al-Quran dan Tafsir di Media Sosial Menerusi Analisis Saluran YouTube

Abstract The digitalization era has witnessed various advancements in information and communication technology. In Malaysia, in particular, society has increasingly relied on new media channels to obtain quick and efficient information, such as social media. This involves issues related to religion, the economy, politics, and more. This article aims to examine YouTube channels that actively upload videos related to the Quran and exegesis for sharing with the audience. Additionally, it identifies the types of applications used in these videos. This study employs a qualitative method with a content analysis approach to gather data. The results reveal that out of 80 top-ranked Islamic channels on YouTube, 40 discuss the Quran and its branches of knowledge. Furthermore, there are a variety of video formats, including webinars, lectures, forums, debates, tutorials on Tajweed, Tarannum, and Qiraat, animations created with PowerPoint, Moovly, Powtoon, kinetic typography, GoAnimate, films, daily vlogs, games, and more. Therefore, through these discussions, it is hoped that Muslims can benefit from the information and knowledge obtained from YouTube sources while ensuring their authenticity and adherence to true Islamic teachings.

In Surau Gading village, the majority of the population is employed as oil palm farmers. Every two weeks, farmers harvest oil palm fruit. After harvesting the oil palm fruit, the farmers sell it to Peron Resdianto, who is a young entrepreneur in the village of Surau Gading. Almost every day, the platform owner purchases agricultural products made from palm oil. Because a large number of customers sell their agricultural products, palm oil platform owners have to make sales to the factory once every two days. Once the palm oil mill receives the sales proceeds, the platform owner disburses payments to the palm oil farmers who sell their agricultural products. As information technology advances, it has now spread to almost all fields and is developing at a rapid pace. Information technology's application is evolving, as evidenced by the constant advancements in the field. The author wants to design a web-based information system for selling and buying palm oil on the Resdianto platform using the PHP and My SQL programming languages. We designed this system using system modeling tools, personal home page (PHP), MYSQL, HTML, data flow diagrams (DFD), Xampp, flowcharts, and entity relationship diagrams (ERD). Peron Reskianto can improve performance by creating a web-based information system for buying and selling palm oil, which will assist platform owners in collecting data on palm oil purchases and sales. This information system guarantees security and reduces errors.

Exploring Blended Learning Models Enhanced by Mobile Interactive Technology in Higher Education

With the continuous advancement of information technology, mobile interactive technology has been increasingly applied in higher education, providing robust support for blended learning models. These models integrate the advantages of traditional classroom teaching and online learning, enhancing the flexibility and interactivity of the educational process. In recent years, research on mobile interactive technology and blended learning has expanded. However, most studies have primarily focused on the application of technological tools and platform construction, with limited exploration of specific interaction models and learning experiences. Furthermore, research on student learning objective identification and group stratification have been constrained, failing to effectively meet the needs of personalized learning. In response, this study explores the integration of interaction models and learning experiences within a mobile environment for university students in blended learning settings. Additionally, methods for identifying learning objectives and stratifying student groups based on mobile technology were investigated, aiming to provide theoretical and practical guidance for the implementation of blended learning in higher education.

The rapid advancement of information technology, particularly Microsoft Excel, facilitates the management of administrative data in educational institutions. Information systems are crucial for enhancing efficiency and effectiveness. The administration at Pondok Pesantren Darul Musthofa Sangatta is conducted manually, resulting in deficiencies such as inaccurate data, difficulties in information retrieval, limitations in student data management, and inefficient operations. The student administration information system is considered a solution to address these challenges. This system facilitates the management of student administrative data for administrators. The system is developed using the waterfall methodology, encompassing phases of requirement analysis, design, coding with VBA Macro in Microsoft Excel, testing, and maintenance. This study has produced a web-based student administration information system at Pondok Pesantren Darul Musthofa Sangatta. The system streamlines the administration of student data within the institution, conserving time, effort, and resources. Furthermore, it allows students and parents/guardians to access administrative information, including monthly payments, re-registration, and remaining funds. The system has been customized to meet the specific requirements of Pondok Pesantren Darul Musthofa Sangatta

This is one of the factors that causes their products to be packaged in a simple and straightforward way. In fact, the packaging design of the product being marketed is the first thing consumers see and can influence their psychology in deciding to buy. The aim of the service is to assist the Mekar Sari Village MSME community in its efforts to increase its productivity by utilizing advances in information technology through print media, banners and branding on products in promotion and marketing.

Can the CPTPP’s Digital Format on Data Flows Serve a Role Model for the WTO?

Digital trade has grown at an unprecedented pace due to advancements in information technologies. The global COVID-19 pandemic further highlighted the importance of international digital transactions and created momentum for the negotiation of digital rules at the World Trade Organization (WTO). Large technology companies rely on free access to data and cross-border data flows, making them influential in shaping digital rule-making at bilateral, regional, and multilateral levels. The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) is currently the leading regional trade agreement (RTA) on digital trade, which aligns with the market-based approach. Australia, Singapore, and Japan, the main parties to the CPTPP, now play a key role in WTO digital negotiations. Their proposals, largely based on the CPTPP’s context, aim to liberalize data flows. However, many WTO members remain cautious of this approach, considering it may compromise regulatory autonomy and essential common interests, such as data sovereignty, privacy, and consumer protection.Though the CPTPP’s e-commerce chapter provides a comprehensive benchmark, fundamental problems with establishing cross-border digital rules remain unsolved at the WTO. This article will examine the limits of, and obstacles to, the realization of the CPTPP approach within the trade system, and propose a preliminary and progressive arrangement for global data governance.

Facile synthesis and microwave absorption capabilities of hierarchical porous BN@C composites

With the rapid advancement of electronic information technology, the issue of electromagnetic radiation has become increasingly severe. It is urgent to develop high efficiency microwave absorber with excellent microwave absorbing performance. The construction of complex and diversified hierarchical porous structure is regarded as a promising way to enhance electromagnetic wave absorption. In this study, leveraging the porous architecture of melamine foam, a BN@C composite material featuring a hierarchical pore structure comprising larger and smaller pores, both residing in the micrometer regime, was synthesized via a high-temperature-assisted sol-gel method, using polyvinyl alcohol as the carbon precursor and boron nitride (BN) as the filler. By optimizing the molar ratio of raw materials, BN@C composites exhibiting superior microwave absorption performance were successfully obtained. When the matching thickness was set at 2.5mm and 1.5mm, respectively, the minimum reflection loss (RLmin) reached -29.12dB, and the maximum effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) was 5.44GHz, demonstrating a broad application prospect in the realm of microwave absorption. This research not only provides novel insights into enhancing the microwave absorption capabilities of carbon-based materials but also lays a material foundation for the development of electromagnetic radiation protection and stealth technologies.

In the current era, the relentless advancement of information technology necessitates efficient information acquisition, which relies on proper data processing. To address the challenges in data organization, data mining emerges as a pivotal solution. This study aims to delve into various methodologies for data grouping. Employing a survey approach, the research scrutinizes journals published from 2020 to 2024. The findings illuminate prevalent techniques, algorithms, and software tools utilized in similar research domains. Notably, the study reveals that the predominant approach entails clustering via K-Means leveraging RapidMiner. This insight underscores the significance of employing robust methodologies and tools to streamline data processing and analysis in the contemporary information landscape. By elucidating the prevalent techniques and tools, this study contributes to enhancing understanding and fostering advancements in data mining practices, thereby facilitating more efficient data utilization and decision-making processes.

A Comprehensive Bibliometric Analysis of Distance Learning Assessments: Key Themes and Future Directions

Distance learning has become increasingly relevant, mainly fuelled by advances in information and communication technology (ICT) and emergency situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Innovations in assessment and evaluation methods are key to improving the quality of education in the context of distance learning. This study aims to identify, analyse and map the main themes and provide recommendations for new directions for future research related to distance learning assessment. This research is quantitative-descriptive in nature using bibliometric analysis techniques. Bibliographic data was taken from a credible scientific database on the Scopus database in the range of 2020-2024 using the keyword ‘Assessment for distance learning’. The data obtained was analysed and the relationship between keywords was mapped. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that the 10 major themes and research trends related to distance learning assessment include distance learning (131), higher education (43), e-learning (40), distance education (34), Covid-19 (30), assessment (24), pandemic (23), blended learning (17), online assessment (16), online education (15). The results of this study can provide a framework for understanding distance learning assessment in a broader and cross-disciplinary context

Modular Web-based Learning Model to Address Underdeveloped ICT Infrastructure for Smart E-learning Education System

Advancements in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) enhance learning and instructional practices, generating chances for novel techniques and tools while simultaneously transforming the learning model. Historically, smart education models mostly consisted of qualitative investigations that delineated the conceptual structure and its implications for the Smart E-learning Education System (SEES). While these theoretically organized SEES can enhance student learning, facilitate peer and instructor communication, and improve teaching practices—thereby aiding in the comprehension of the status of learners and needs and offering real-time synchronous/asynchronous guidance—many qualitative investigations conducted in the past lack empirical evidence to substantiate the prioritization of E-Learning scheduling. This research first examined the technological barriers to implementing the SEES in developing nations. As a result, the suggested framework for the SEES based on underdeveloped ICT has been introduced. The system utilizes an integrated online/offline Web-Based Learning Model (WLM) incorporating a Service-oriented Architecture (SA) architecture to create SEES. The online mode is enabled for a WLM when an internet connection is accessible. The offline variant of the system is provided in a packed format and is used when Internet access is unavailable in an isolated classroom. A working example was launched to get input from learners and instructors across diverse educational levels. The trial installation and survey results confirm the viability and benefits of the suggested system.

Innovative IT solutions in health and sport - the importance of wearable devices, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and Big Data

Healthcare faces a significant shortage of human and financial resources. One way to overcome this is to focus on preventive medicine, through the promotion of sport and the use of advanced IT (Information Technology) tools in healthcare. These tools include wearables, the IoT (Internet of Things), Big Data and AI (artificial intelligence). This narrative review article aims to present the current state of the art in the field to support the processing of literature at the beginning of new researches by reviewing the major literature focusing on three of the data management’s functions: data collection, storing and processing. To quantify the studies, queries were run on ScienceDirect, PubMed, Web of Science, Google Scholar databases. The keywords used in the queries were "Internet of Things", "Big Data", "Artificial intelligence" and "Wearable devices" complemented by the terms "health" and "sports" so a total of 8 queries were run on each database. We selected only scientific articles which contain concrete results, present ICT tools used in health or sport, and were fully available from our institution's network so we examined 35 articles. The results of the queries show that in most cases more than 50% of the literature was published since 2019, so the topic is currently a highly researched area. On average, 59.57% of all published works were published from 2019 in Science Direct, 74.49% in PubMed and 77.18% in Web of Science. The above-mentioned IT tools on health and sport is significant. Their importance is most notable in the advancement of preventive medicine and innovation in medical research.

The swift advancement of information technology has positioned big data as a crucial instrument for fostering innovation and enhancing optimization across diverse sectors. This essay seeks to investigate the specific applications and effects of big data technology in the financial, healthcare, and educational domains. The research background is that the wide application of big data technology has a profound impact on business processes and decision-making methods in various industries. Research topics cover big data for personalized learning and data parsing in education, disease prediction and personalized medicine in healthcare, and risk management and fraud detection in finance. This paper adopts the method of literature review and case analysis, and the research objects include educational platforms, medical institutions and financial institutions. The data comes from industry reports, academic studies and real-world cases. The findings indicate that big data technology has a noteworthy impact in improving service quality and decision-making efficiency, but concurrently faces issues like protecting data privacy, technical complexity and data quality. The conclusions point out that while big data technology is driving the industry, these challenges need to be addressed to achieve its maximum potential.

Analysis of the Effect of Using the SIPLah Application on User Satisfaction in Procuring Elementary School Books in Pangkalpinang City

The advancement of information technology has become more widespread across various sectors, particularly in education. The integration of information technology has increasingly simplified many aspects of human life. This study aims to evaluate the impact of the SIPLah (School Procurement Information System) application on user satisfaction in the procurement of books for elementary schools. SIPLah is a government-provided digital platform designed to streamline the procurement of goods and services within schools, promoting greater transparency, efficiency, and accountability. The research data was collected through surveys involving SIPLah users, such as school principals, teachers, and administrative staff engaged in book procurement. The study measured variables including ease of use, system reliability, procurement process speed, and user satisfaction with the procurement outcomes. The analysis revealed that the SIPLah application has a significant impact on user satisfaction. Among the factors studied, ease of use and system reliability had the most positive influence. However, some respondents reported technical challenges, such as delays in data updates and insufficient technical support. To enhance future user satisfaction, the study recommends improvements in technical services and system optimization.

Predicting patron satisfaction on library service using machine learning approaches: A case study in Indonesia

ABSTRACT The advancement of information technology has diminished the traditional role of libraries, necessitating modernization to enhance patron satisfaction. This study focuses on predicting patron satisfaction with library services in Indonesia using machine learning models. By examining key factors such as collection, service, infrastructure, building, and staff, the research aims to identify the most significant contributors to patron satisfaction. Various machine learning algorithms, including KNN, Logistic Regression, CART, Random Forest, LightGBM, CatBoost, and XGBoost, were compared to determine their predictive performance. Data from the National Library of Indonesia’s Reading Habit Survey in 2023, encompassing 10,200 respondents, was utilized. The findings reveal that LightGBM achieved the highest accuracy and lowest RMSE, highlighting its efficacy in predicting library patron satisfaction. Key predictors of satisfaction identified include staff, service, and infrastructure. These insights can guide librarians and policymakers in enhancing library services to meet patron needs better. Future work will explore advanced machine learning techniques and expand the study to other public service domains.
