Assessment of the impact of COVID-19 and political instability on mental health of university students in Sudan.

The mental health of students plays a crucial role in their learning and performance. The COVID-19 pandemic, the political turmoil and a coup in Sudan has exacerbated stress and anxiety among university students in Sudan due to uncertainty about their academic activities. To assess post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) occurrence and coping strategies adopted by university students in Sudan. This cross-sectional survey was conducted from March to June 2022. It used the Coping Orientation to Problems Experienced (Brief-COPE) and Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R) questionnaires to assess the occurrence of PTSD and coping strategies among 596 university students in Sudan. Descriptive statistics were used to determine the frequency and percentage, Student's t test was used to compare the means of 2 groups and one-way analysis of variance to compare the means of ≥ 3 groups. There was a high prevalence of PTSD among the students, with a score of 31.2 (SD 16.4). The total score of PTSD was higher among female students. Around 36% of the students had a PTSD score > 37, which is considered high enough to suppress immune function. The most widely adopted coping strategies were religion and acceptance of the situation, while substance use was the least. Students who had COVID-19 infection during the pandemic differed significantly from uninfected students in the application of coping strategies. In contrast, students whose family members or friends had COVID-19 were not significantly different from students with uninfected family members or friends in the application of the coping strategies, such as self-blame, denial, substance use, and behavioural disengagement. We recommend the initiation and implementation of psychological counselling programmes for university students in Sudan onsite or remotely. Further research should be carried out to assess the long-term effects of the pandemic and the political conflicts so as to design and implement appropriate and efficient interventions.

Post-harvest monitoring and crop production assessment in Nertiti locality of Central Darfur State-Sudan

Crop productivity has declined all over the world due to weak investments in agricultural research, which negatively impact food production as well as food security situation. The purpose of this study is to explore the connection between post-harvest monitoring and food production security in Nertiti locality of Central Darfur state during 2012/2103 cropping rainy season. Descriptive statistical analysis by using Statistical Package for the Several Sciences (SPSS) was run. Three villages (Eraideeba, Salakoya and Rijlaldelaiba) were randomly selected. A total of 1600 (men & women) of beneficiary household head were targeted in the entire study area. Clustered random sampling technique applied. Crop harvest chick list and Focus Group Discussion were administered at the beneficiary and community level for planted areas, agricultural production and the effect on food and seed security. Due to, 20 households head randomly selected from each village. A total of 60 household head (40 men and 20 women) selected for chick list in addition to 15 household head for Focus Group discussion (10 men and 5 women) to represent the whole study area. Results of Statistical analysis related to crop yields indicated that the average yields of sorghum, millet and groundnut among improved seeds beneficiary managed farms exceed other traditional farms by 22%, 47% and 55%. Production at community level revealed that, Rijalldelaiba village gave highest millet production (1740 metric tons), Salakoyaproduced1409.4 metric tons of sorghum and Eriadeeba village gave 456 metric tons ofgroundnuts. Households also assessed that, their cultivated area increased by 33%, 50% same, while 17% said decreased. Group discussion and individual interview results related to food security and crop utilization showed that, food and seed security for 12 month is good, production covers consumption food for 8-12 month, the adopted coping strategies for the remaining 4 month were livestock sale, daily labor, migration, firewood collection, charcoal and bricks making. Regarding the crop utilization, the majority of respondents reported that, 50% left their by-products on the field, 27% used as animal fodder and 23% stored. A focus group discussion result addresses constraints of, problems of security, storage facilities, packing materials, marketing problems, extension services and inadequate improved seeds. Monitoring reached recommendation of, provision of improved seeds, training, marketing facilities and packing inputs.

The Socioeconomic Impact of COVID-19 in Sudan: Results from the Sudan High-Frequency Survey on COVID-19, 2020

The coronavirus outbreaks and the measures taken to control their spread negatively impacted the global economy. This study aims to provide insights into the socioeconomic impacts of COVID-19 in Sudan, using data from the Sudan High-Frequency Survey on Covid-19 conducted by phone. The study used descriptive and analytical statistical analysis. The results revealed that about 98% of the population heard about the coronavirus. However, the measures taken to limit the spread of the virus were more practiced in Khartoum than in other regions. An estimate of about 1.7 million households (47%) lost income from any source due to COVID-19. Accordingly, around 25%-30% of households could not access staple foods and medicine. More than 90% of school- children in all regions, except Khartoum (76%), were not engaged in any education activity during school closures. Adopted coping strategies were living on previous savings in 1.3 million households (22%), reducing food consumption in 2.8 million households (48%), reducing non-food consumption in 1.4 million households (23%), relying on credit purchasing in 873,362 households (15%), and engaging in additional income-generating activities in 389,003 households (7%) while 7% received assistance from friends and relatives. These results will enable policymakers to design result-based policies to mitigate the socioeconomic impacts of coronavirus in Sudan and to learn lessons for future precautions.

Sleep disorders, stress coping strategies and neurobehavioral aspects: an outlook on the impact of covid‑19 in first‑year resident physicians.

The COVID-19 pandemic had a profound impact on the physical and mental health of healthcare professionals. The present study explored the relationship between sleep disorders, stress, coping strategies and neurobehavioral aspects among young physicians during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through a multi-assessment approach, this cross-sectional study collected sociodemographic and occupational data from first-year resident doctors in southern Italy. Subjective sleep quality, chronotype, work-related stress, coping approach and mood state were assessed by administering validated questionnaires during face-to-face interviews. Among the 258 resident physicians enrolled in the study, ~25% complained of poor sleep quality, mainly male subjects [odds ratio (OR), 2.52]. Alcohol consumption resulted as a risk factor for poor sleep quality (OR, 1.97). None of the participants reported work-related stress showing, on the contrary, a high score for the vigor factor in the profile of mood state, in particular in subjects with previous working experience with COVID patients and prevention (P<0.040 and P<0.035, respectively). Women were more likely to adopt coping strategies that involved the search for social support, confirming their tendency to manage stressful situations through emotion-focused mechanisms. The set of these results represents a sight on the attitude of young physicians in their approach to facing the COVID-19 pandemic, in its second wave. The pandemic has turned the spotlight on the importance of prevention and early diagnosis of physical health and mental well-being. Further studies are performed to monitor long-term consequences on health status.

Teaching as a corrective experience for self and others: narratives of teachers with ADHD

ABSTRACT Adults with ADHD face multiple challenges, some occupational. While many experienced numerous difficulties as pupils, some chose to train as teachers. Antonovsky’s salutogenic model argues that developing a stronger sense of coherence (SOC) may help these teachers to better cope with ADHD’s challenges. This study uses grounded theory to explore the perceptions of teachers with ADHD regarding their role, their choice to become teachers and how their SOC developed. The authors explore the narratives of 32 teachers with ADHD and divide them into three stages: childhood with its ADHD challenges; developing a higher SOC after ADHD diagnosis and adoption of coping strategies; and discovering potential advantages of ADHD. Training as teachers and returning to school as professionals provided these teachers and their pupils with a corrective experience and enabled teachers with ADHD to develop a better and more effective connection with the pupils’ parents.

Human coexistence with leopards and elephants: Losses and coping strategies in an Indian tiger reserve

Conflicts between humans and wildlife, particularly involving common leopards (Panthera pardus) and Asian elephants (Elephas maximus) in the Himalayan region, pose significant challenges for both communities and conservation efforts. This study fills crucial gaps in existing research, extending beyond landscape-level predictors of these conflicts. By examining patterns of losses due to leopard and elephant encounters and assessing the effectiveness of coping strategies, along with socio-economic factors associated with these conflicts in the Buxa Tiger Reserve (BTR), this study aims to inform more targeted policy approaches for forest communities. Conducting face-to-face interviews with 345 households across 10 forest villages in the BTR, the study revealed that leopards predominantly target cows during the day and goats during both day and night, while elephants raid crops, particularly during crucial agricultural phases like paddy transplantation and harvesting. Financial losses prompt the adoption of coping strategies, with traditional measures showing limited effectiveness. Visual deterrents like flashing bright LED torchlights for elephants and night lights for leopards prove more promising. Larger households with substantial livestock are more vulnerable to leopard attacks, and rice cultivation areas and the eastern division of the BTR face heightened elephant-related crop damage. The study recommends immediate measures like visual deterrents and long-term strategies such as sustainable livelihood support and habitat restoration to mitigate conflicts. Its global significance lies in advocating for tailored policies worldwide that balance conservation with livelihood protection.

Exploring Stress Factors and Coping Strategies in Italian Teachers after COVID-19: Evidence from Qualitative Data

Teaching is a mentally and physically demanding profession that can be a source of stress and burnout. The COVID-19 pandemic put further pressure on teachers who had to face sudden challenges, such as online teaching and difficulties in holding students’ attention in virtual environments. Research has demonstrated that the negative effects of stress factors on teachers’ wellbeing can be modulated by coping strategies. This work explores the main sources of stress that jeopardized Italian teachers’ wellbeing after the COVID-19 pandemic and the coping strategies that they adopted. Eighty-six teachers, belonging to five school institutes located in Northern Italy, took part in three semi-structured group interviews, where their perceptions about wellbeing at school and occupational stress experiences were explored. Furthermore, they completed a survey with questions about recent stressful life events and the coping strategies that they had adopted in the last month. A thematic analysis revealed stressors related to four themes: adverse work conditions, a lack of support (from both school administrators and families), precariousness, and a demanding school system. A total of 22% of teachers experienced stressful events in the last month (e.g., health problems and loss), and 30% reported that they had adopted coping strategies, especially emotion-focused ones. The findings may drive educational policies to enhance protective factors for teachers’ professional wellbeing at school by reinforcing their individual resources and coping strategies, which can help them deal with challenging situations.

Using a Mixed-Method Approach to Explore the Factors Influencing the Family Resilience of Stroke Survivors in China.

Stroke is a critical public health issue in China that necessitates a closer examination of family resilience (defined here as the collective capacity of individuals, families and communities to effectively navigate challenges, recover from adverse events and foster positive adaptation). Amid rising stroke incidence, this study addresses the dearth of research on family resilience among stroke survivors in China, aiming to assess its level, identify influencing factors and establish coping strategies for family caregivers. This mixed-methods research employed a sequential explanatory design. Questionnaires were distributed to 258 stroke survivors and their family members at outpatient follow-up visits. In the first stage (ie the quantitative research stage), the research tools for data collection included a general demographic sociological data questionnaire, the Family Resilience Assessment Scale (FRAS), the Self-Efficacy for Managing Chronic Disease 6-Item Scale, the Caregiver Burden Scale, the Family Functioning Scale and the Social Support Rating Scale. Quantitative data were analysed using IBM SPSS 26.0 software, utilising descriptive statistics for summarising sociodemographic characteristics and conducting analyses, such as independent-sample t-tests, one-way analysis of variance and Spearman correlation analysis. The second stage (ie the qualitative research stage) involved complementing and validating the data, developing a quantitative-qualitative interview framework and selecting participants for interviews. Colaizzi's seven-step analysis was applied to analyse interview data. In the third stage, the quantitative and qualitative research results were integrated, and a comprehensive analysis was performed to obtain an accurate conclusion. A total of 242 families responded to the questionnaire (response rate: 93.8%). In total, the mean age of stroke survivors was 61.86 ± 8.76 years old, and 69.8% were male. The quantitative results showed that the FRAS mean score was (185.33 ± 24.78), which was above the medium level. The multiple linear regression analysis confirmed that family function was the strongest influencing factor on family resilience (β = 0.948, p < 0.01). The qualitative analysis revealed four themes of family adaptation experience: loss of independence and certainty, facing threats and challenges, seeking family advantage resources and adopting coping strategies. This hybrid study sheds light on the adaptation process of the families of stroke survivors, revealing family function as the primary influencer of resilience. Recognising that eliminating risk factors is challenging, our suggestion is for clinical practitioners to emphasise family strengths and implement resilience-oriented interventions. Focusing on enhancing coping abilities and fostering adaptation within families can aid in the rehabilitation process, promoting the well-being and growth of both the family unit and individual members, while alleviating caregiver burden.

The influence of meaningful work on the mental health of SME employees in the COVID-19 era: can coping strategies mediate the relationship?

BackgroundStress, depression, and anxiety are prevalent issues among SME employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even while having meaningful work that expressively contributes to individual growth has been related to improving mental health, employees’ work may also need to adopt coping strategies to increase outcomes. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between meaningful work (positive meaning, meaning-making, and greater good motivations) and mental health, as well as coping strategies (problem-focused and emotion-focused) as a mediator of this relationship.MethodsMeaningful work, coping strategies, and mental health were evaluated in empirical research based on a sample of 462 SME employees working in Malaysia. Structured questionnaires were used to collect the data and analyze it through Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) using AMOS 21.0.ResultsThe findings of the study show the importance of meaningful work in influencing the mental health of SME employees, particularly during a crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic. This suggests that the more they value and see their work as meaningful, the more capable they are of dealing with limitations and mental health problems associated with crises. The study also discovered a partial mediating role for coping strategies between employees’ mental health and meaningful work.ConclusionThis study encourages employees to constantly feel connected and discover continued possibilities to work and learn even during crisis situations. In order to improve human resource efficiency in emerging markets, managers and owners of SMEs must implement the model developed by the researchers.

Farmers' coping strategies to artisanal small-scale mining activities: welfare improvement or deterioration in Asutifi North District of Ghana?

PurposeIn Ghana, legal and illegal artisanal small-scale mining (ASM) activities have attracted the attention of the general populace and academia with varied opinions. This study examined how adopting the coping strategies for ASM operations affected the welfare of farm households.Design/methodology/approachPrimary data were solicited from respondents using a semi-structured questionnaire. This paper used the endogenous treatment effect model to quantitatively estimate whether or not farmers who adopt coping strategies for activities of ASM have improved or deteriorated welfare.FindingsThe results revealed that households adopted coping strategies such as diversification, social networking, land reclamation, borrowing, dependence on the market for food and resettlement in other communities. The endogenous treatment effect model results show that households that adopted land reclamation and social networking had improved welfare regarding consumption expenditure and food security compared to non-adopters. Conversely, diversification was associated with lower consumption expenditures and high food insecurity among adopters.Practical implicationsThis paper recommends that farm households in mining communities form cooperatives and farmer-based organizations to ensure improved access to joint resources for enhanced capacity to cope with ASM-induced shocks. There is a need for government and civil society organizations to encourage and support land reclamation measures.Originality/valueThis paper covers a broader perspective and deploys more than one welfare proxy, which has not been considered before in previous studies.

Flash drought in Odisha- prediction, impact assessment, coping strategies: Current status and future strategies

A detailed review was done on the past studies conducted by the researchers on climate change and variability, particularly for the Indian conditions having a typical monsoon climate. The short-term droughts (flash droughts) occurring due to the prolonged dry spells, heat waves, soil moisture deficits, which are caused due to the climate variability were also investigated. Accurate prediction techniques used for flash drought (FD), assessment of its impact on agriculture and farmers’ income as well as appropriate coping strategies recommended by different researchers to minimize the losses in crop yield and farmers’ income were analyzed. The total loss in crop yield was found to increase with increase in land size; however, per acre loss was higher for smaller holdings. It was observed that the resource crunch small and marginal farmers particularly belonging to SC/ST were worst sufferers due to their inability to adopt appropriate coping strategies such as: crop insurance, short duration climate resilient cultivars, low-interest loans from financial institutions etc. It was inferred that the FD needs special attention particularly for the state of Odisha, where a majority of the population are engaged in agriculture and its allied activities. Agriculture accounts for around 30 per cent of the net state domestic product (NSDP). Investigations of the past studies revealed that the western Odisha regions are most vulnerable to climate change and variability and to the FD caused by the climate variability. The small and marginal tribal farmers of western Odisha whose sole source of income is from agriculture, with low affordability, are worst affected. To cope with these natural calamities, they need to adopt coping strategies namely, going for a variety of sources of income, cultivation of short-duration climate resilient varieties, in-situ rainwater conservation and use for life-saving irrigation, crop insurance, and low interest loans as well as low-cost post-harvest techniques for the perishable crop produce etc.&#x0D;

Stigma perceived by mothers of children with congenital Zika virus syndrome

Objective: to understand the experiences of stigma perceived by mothers of children with congenital Zika virus syndrome and its repercussions. Methods: a qualitative study was carried out with 12 mothers who responded to semi-structured interviews. Correspondence Factor Analysis and Descending Hierarchical Classification were carried out using the IRaMuTeQ software. Results: four classes emerged that deal with the experience of perceiving stigma: Perceiving public discrimination; Stigmatizing behaviors and their repercussions; Feeling guilty and adopting coping strategies; Experiencing rejection from the father, others and feeling lonely. Conclusion: stigma is perceived by mothers of children with congenital Zika virus syndrome in affective, family, and social interactions, expressed through rejection, withdrawal and exclusion resulting in suffering for the mothers, who adopt hiding the child and self-isolation as coping strategies. Contributions to practice: nursing should identify signs of social isolation, deep sadness and stress related to the stigma of being the mother of a child with congenital Zika virus syndrome and draw up care plans to prevent maternal illness.

Navigating an emotional journey: A qualitative study of the emotional experiences of family carers currently supporting people living with motor neurone disease.

Family carers of people living with motor neurone disease (MND) face continuous changes and losses during the progression of the disease, impacting on their emotional wellbeing. Carers' emotions might affect their engagement in everyday activities and their caring role. However, how carers manage their emotions and which strategies they identify as useful to cope with them while caring is under researched. To identify the emotional experiences and coping strategies of MND family carers while caring the person living with MND. We conducted 14 semi-structured interviews with family carers currently supporting people living with MND living in the UK. Interviews were audio/video recorded and professionally transcribed verbatim. We analyzed data inductively within an interpretive descriptive approach, using reflexive thematic analysis. Three key themes were generated from the analysis. Destabilization of diagnosis reflected the devastating impact the diagnosis had on carers, characterized by initial overwhelming emotions. Adapting to new circumstances and identifying coping strategies captured how carers experienced everyday changes and losses and how they gradually adjusted to the situation by identifying coping strategies to be able to manage arising emotions. Maintaining emotional coping encompassed how carers used individual strategies they had tried before and had worked for them to cope emotionally with the continuous changes and losses while preserving their emotional wellbeing. Our findings suggest that carers of people living with MND embark on an emotional journey from the diagnosis of the disease. As the disease progresses, carers adopt coping strategies that best work for them to manage their emotions (e.g., living day by day and seeking support). Understanding the key strategies used to support emotional coping during the caring journey and how carers re-construct their emotional life around MND could help inform future practice and research to better support carers of this population.

Evaluation of economic loss of urban road flooding: A case of Kathmandu Metropolitan City

This paper analyzes the causes of urban road flooding and evaluates the economic cost borne by the business houses on either side of Putalisadak road section of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Nepal as a resultant of the flood during 2018 monsoon. The calculation of losses included direct, indirect, fixed and variable cost based on before-during-after flood framework through the in-person interview conducted with systematically selected business houses in flooded studied area. The storm water runoff quantity at extreme rainfall condition exceeds the drainage discharge capacity and further gutter clogging with waste triggered the overflow of sewer mixed water causing road flood. The annual economic cost of flooding was estimated to be USD 65,579.99. Result shows that the loss of businesses depend upon the extent of vulnerability of materials towards flood and the coping strategies of the business holders. The businesses with less material damage was found to be adopting coping strategies like elevating the ground level of shops and putting glasses in the front door to prevent damages caused by water. Ironically, such urban road flooding is underrated by the Government and concerned authorities as such flood seems to be smaller in front of big river floods in Nepal. But there are huge and unseen losses due to urban floods. It is recommended that the drainage capacity should be enhanced and regularly maintained to mitigate urban flood disaster.

COVID‐19 pandemic, farming households' food and nutrition security, and response strategies in Ghana, West Africa

AbstractWe explored the association between COVID‐19 disruptions and food and nutrition security, including the various coping strategies adopted by farming households in Ghana. The different COVID‐19 shocks experienced and coping strategies implemented by farming households are identified through focus group discussions. A multistage random sampling method was used to survey 252 farming households, and data were analyzed using different regression techniques. We observe no significant differences in the food and nutrition security status of male‐ and female‐headed households, while the COVID‐19 disruptions affected male‐headed households more than female‐headed households. Our data shows a higher vulnerability of urban households to food and nutrition insecurity than rural households, with the COVID‐19 disruptions affecting urban households more than rural households. We find that the COVID‐19 disruptions pushed households to reduce their frequency of food consumption, consume less diverse diets, and hinder their adoption of coping strategies. Hence, responses that aim to strengthen farming households' frequency of consumption of essential food groups and access to nutritional and healthy diets are crucial to either help maintain or improve farming households' food and nutrition security during shocks such as COVID‐19 in Ghana.

Coping and adaptation strategies among young persons living with type 1 diabetes and their caregivers: textual and photovoice analyses

BackgroundManagement of type 1 diabetes (T1D) is complex and demanding. It requires patients and their caregivers, particularly those in low-resource settings to adopt productive coping strategies to achieve ideal glycaemic control. Coping and adaptation strategies have far-reaching implications on their behavioural and health outcomes. Yet, it is uncertain how young people living with T1D and their caregivers in low-resource settings cope and adapt to the challenges of T1D management. This study analysed textual and photo evidence on the coping and adaptation strategies employed by young persons living with T1D (warriors) and their caregivers in Ghana.MethodsQualitative data were collected from 28 warriors, 12 caregivers, 6 healthcare providers and other stakeholders in southern Ghana using semi-structured interview guides. Participants were identified at T1D support group centres, hospitals, and their places of residence, and recruited into the study using maximum variation and snowball sampling approaches. Data were collected via face-to-face interviews, photovoice, telephone interviews and videoconferencing and were thematically analysed using QSR NVivo 11.ResultsFour superordinate themes which are productive coping, non-productive coping, keeping T1D a secret, and coping with costs of care were identified. Productive coping entailed condition acceptance, planning ahead, seeking social support, borrowing insulin, and overcoming the barriers of insulin storage. On the other hand, avoidance, disengagement, and re-use of syringes were the common non-productive coping approaches. Due to stigma and discrimination, the warriors shrouded their condition in secrecy. As a response to the financial burden of T1D care, caregivers/patients borrowed money, took loans, and sold household items.ConclusionYoung persons living with T1D and their caregivers adopted coping strategies which both promoted and compromised their T1D management. There was an occasional co-existence of diverse coping strategies (productive and non-productive), and these reflects the personal and contextual stressors they faced. The results call for the need to eliminate barriers of T1D management and equip patients and their caregivers with ongoing T1D coping competencies.

Association of Stress with Prevalence of TMJ Dysfunction in Undergraduate Dental Students

Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD) refers to persistent medical conditions that affect the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and related structures. Studies showed that stress was closely linked to the development of TMD. Furthermore, healthcare students are particularly susceptible to stress compared to the general population. This can have a negative impact on their quality of life and mental health during their training. The increased prevalence of TMD has also been reported among the same cohort of the population. However, there is a lack of literature published highlighting the prevalence of TMD and their association with increased levels of stress in dental students. This study aims to explore whether increased stress levels are associated with the prevalence of TMD in undergraduate dental students. A total of 218 dental students participated. Two online self-reported questionnaires consisted of structured case history on past medical and dental history with a Fonseca Amnestic Index (FAI) questionnaire used to identify the prevalence of TMD and DESS questionnaire for stress prediction were used. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 22 with a p-value less than 0.05. It was reported that about 48% of students had various TMD with no significant association found between the year of study and gender. However, a significant association was reported between stress gender. A positive correlation was also found between stress and TMD among participants. This study revealed a significant association between stress and the prevalence of TMD in undergraduate dental students. Educational institutions must adopt coping strategies to help trainees manage their psychological stress, which could reduce the incidence of TMD.

The global impact of COVID-19 on child protection professionals: A scoping review and thematic analysis

BackgroundThe COVID-19 pandemic triggered new risks for child maltreatment (CM) and exacerbated existing challenges for families and children, elevating the importance of child protection professionals (CPPs) while also adding barriers to their work. During the pandemic, many CPPs experienced increased workloads, a disrupted work environment, and personal pandemic-related hardships. However, the scope of how COVID-19 impacted CPPs globally, as well as their adopted coping strategies, have not been well explored. ObjectiveThis study addresses these gaps in the research by conducting an international scoping review to explore and analyze these topics. MethodThe scoping review was performed in six languages: English, Hebrew, Arabic, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, across 16 databases. Sixteen manuscripts were included in the final thematic analysis of this review. ResultsTwo main themes were identified: 1) the impact of COVID-19 on CPPs, and 2) the coping and adaptation strategies employed by CPPs during COVID-19. This review revealed and emphasized the importance of CPPs' resilience during COVID-19, underpinned by the theoretical framework of the social ecology of resilience. ConclusionsThis study highlights the responsibility of social ecologies and organizational structures to create readiness for a rapid response in times of crisis as well as valuable evidence to inform how CPPs, children, and families may be better supported in the event of a future crisis.
