This article talks about the problems of adaptation of foreign students in Russian universities. The benefits of physical culture in this process are substantiated. The necessity of participation in national sports events is considered as a method of adaptation of foreign students. The aim of the work is to study how sports activities affect the adaptation of international students. Based on the set goal, the following tasks were identified: to determine what problems of adaptation foreign students face; to find out how national sports events affect the process of adaptation of students; to identify the place of physical culture in the adaptation process of students. The research methodology used in the article is the analysis of information on the Internet, on the relevant topic, observation, comparison, questionnaire survey of KGEU students, the respondents of which were 40 foreign students of the university. As a result of the study, it was found that most of the students actually experienced difficulties with adaptation, namely 65%. 25% of the students had no difficulties. The conclusion of the study is that mass sports events contribute to the development of social skills, self-confidence, cultural integration and can become an important element.

Критерии и показатели адаптации студентов первого курса к образовательному процессу в вузе

The issue of adaptation of modern first-year students to the educational process at the university is one of the current pedagogical tasks. Successful adaptation significantly affects the quality of received education, the degree of formation of personal and professional qualities, contributes to the development of motivation, self-education, and self-development. The purpose of the research is to substantiate the criteria, indicators, and levels of adaptation of first-year students to the learning process at the university. The material for the study was the domestic scientific sources of studying the peculiarities of the adaptation process of students to educational activities in higher education. Research methods: analysis and generalization of psychological-pedagogical and educational-methodical literature on the research topic. We determine as the main criteria for the adaptation of first-year students to the university, the adaptive potential and professionally important qualities of students, consider these concepts, their structure, and their basic properties. On the basis of the analysis and generalization of the existing indicators of the implementation of the adaptive potential, we formulate the author's indicators for determining the level of its development. The degree of formation of professionally important qualities of students are low, medium, and high levels of development of emotional intelligence, negative communicative attitude, intellectual lability, and stress tolerance.

Learning and growing in a foreign context: Review of literature on cross-cultural adaptation of international students

Research background: Research background: The evolving opportunities of studies at foreign universities and the geographical expansion of the labour market create the need of facilitating a process of adapting students to studying and working. Despite a rapid increase in the number of international students in the higher education sector, little is known about their adaptation. Purpose of the article: The aim is to point out the topicality and importance of the issue of adaptation of foreign students in the globalizing world in the form of the bibliometric analysis of scientific publications. Methods: We use a combination of methods: setting parameter search by keywords, number of citations and publications, their segmentation, as defined by classification disciplines, and graphical analysis. The sample used consists of articles from WoS - Core Collection. Findings & Value added: The findings of this study have important implications for universities and educators in relation to helping students in their pursuit of academic and work success. The results provide a broader view of the research continuum and the publishing trends, in the domain of the adaptation process of students studying at foreign universities.

Модель педагогического сопровождения адаптационного процесса студентов - первокурсников среднего профессионального образования в Колледже многоуровневого профессионального образования Российской академии народного хозяйства и государственной службы при Президенте РФ

The article is devoted to the consideration of the model of pedagogical support of the adaptation process of students - freshmen of secondary professional education. The problem of students' adaptation is one of the most urgent not only from the point of view of psychological comfort of students, but also as a necessary condition for the development of professional competencies. In order to solve this problem successfully, it is necessary to identify the reasons that negatively affect the adaptation of students, and to create a model of pedagogical support for first-year students at the stage of adaptation. The structure of the model, its components are presented, the features of the freshmen adaptation process are revealed, the reasons that negatively affect the students' adaptation are identified, the relevance of studying this problem in secondary vocational education is emphasized. The author pays special attention to characterizing the specifics of students' adaptation in the system of secondary vocational education, increasing the efficiency of the existing model in modern conditions. The positive results obtained during the pedagogical experiment confirm that the success of the process of adapting first-year students to college requires qualified pedagogical support, which can be provided only with competent interaction, cooperation of all structures of the educational process.

Обеспечение социально-педагогической адаптации глухих учащихся в профессиональных образовательных учреждениях среднего профессионального образования

We show the possibility of optimizing the psychological and pedagogical support of social and pedagogical adaptation process of students with hearing impairment to educational process in vocational educational institutions of secondary vocational education through the use of an innovative author’s course of group psychological prophylaxis and correction adapted to audibly deprived students. We reveal the subject and the main content of the classes. We pay attention to the need for dead graduates of vocational educational institutions of secondary vocational education to master flexible, highly adaptive methods and techniques aimed at improving their social and psychological competence. The effectiveness of the proposed and conducted activities is confirmed by the results of monitoring the psychological sphere of deaf students’ personalities of vocational educational institutions of secondary vocational education. The analysis of the average group data showed an improvement in psychological indicators of psychological and pedagogical adaptation: a significant increase in the neuropsychological stability level, against the decrease in personal anxiety level, an increase of the personal adaptation potential value and its components, increased the communicative qualities and the behavioral regulation level, with virtually unchanged values of moral standards. The results indicate the positive dynamics presence of psychological indicators of social and pedagogical adaptation of surveyed sample after the course of group psychological prophylaxis and correction.

PSYCHOPHYSIOLOGICAL ADAPTATION FEATURES OF PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS

The article presents the studying of psychophysiological adaptation features results of primary school age pupils, enrolled in innovative educational institution. Comprehensive survey of elementary school students, which was held during two years of study (the first to the second year of study), presupposed a research of psychophysiological indicators and assessment of the regulatory systems of the body. It was found that by the second year of study the students are improving developmental quotient of cognitive performance by increasing the pressure in the cardiovascular system regulation. Those students who had low performance indicators in the beginning of the education program showed more prominent dynamics of psycho-physiological functions during the two years of study, compare to their peers with ‘good" or "excellent" marks. The boys had greater dynamics in the amount of attention compared to girls. Adaptation process of students with high academic performance, accompanied by increased sympathetic activity in heart rate regulation, is accompanied by a greater physiological "cost" that the body pays for the effectiveness of implemented activities.

Functional state and stress periods of cardiovascular and sympathetic-adrenal systems in students throughout the academic year

The dynamics of a functional state of cardiovascular and sympathetic adrenal systems in students aged 1719 years throughout the academic year in the first, second and third УДК 616.921.5-06-037 course of the Pedagogical Institute is studied. The adaptation process of students is shown to be accompanied by stress periods in the functional state of cardiovascular and sympathetic adrenal systems. The response of the systems under study to the dosed physical load varies according to their functioning intensity. The character of correlative relations between hormonal and mediative links of sympathetic adrenal system and statistical characteristics of the cardiac rhythm depends on the training period and may serve as a criterion of the functional stress of the students organism.
