New industrial land use policy and firms’ green technology innovation in China—an empirical study based on double machine learning model

China is facing a serious land resource mismatch problem, which will profoundly affect the acceleration of economic growth and technological innovation. Reform of the industrial land allocation system can solve the mismatch of land resources, and that also has an important impact on the promotion of economic and technological development. This paper selects the data of Chinese A-share listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2007 to 2020 as the research sample, constructs a double machine learning model, and empirically investigates the impact of a new industrial land use policy on firms’ green innovation behavior. The study shows that: (1) the new industrial land use policy significantly promotes firms’ substantive and strategic green technological innovation, and the effect on substantive green technological innovation is greater than that on strategic green technological innovation. (2) The enhancement of R&D investment sustainability and the “talent pool” effect are important mechanisms through which the new industrial land use policy influences firms’ substantive and strategic green technological innovation. Meanwhile, the new industrial land use policy is conducive to firms’ green co-innovation. (3) There is heterogeneity in the effect of the new industrial land use policy, which can significantly promote green technological innovation of firms in the eastern region, while it does not play a significant role in the green innovation behavior of firms in the central and western regions. The above research results enrich the research in the field of industrial land and innovation, help to understand more comprehensively the mechanism of new industrial land affecting firms’ green technological innovation, and provide policy insights for strengthening the application of industrial land allocation reform in firms’ green innovation.

Growth Acceleration Determinants in East Asia and MENA: Empirical Evidence from Mixed Effect Models

This study is aimed at studying the main factors that determine the process of accelerating economic growth in countries located in East Asia, the Middle East and North Africa between 1996 and 2019. The sample of countries included: Algeria; Bahrain; China; Egypt, Arab Republic; Hong Kong; Indonesia; Iraq; Japan; Jordan; Korea, Republic of; Kuwait; Malaysia; Mauritania; Morocco; Philippines; Qatar; Saudi Arabia; Singapore; Sudan; Thailand; Tunisia; United Arab Emirates; Yemen. The research is based on the methodology of Haussmann, Pritchett and Rodrik (2005), according to which 3 criteria of accelerated economic growth are used: 1) to characterize the process of acceleration itself growth of GDP per capita by 2%; 2) to characterize cases of rapid growth – annual growth rates for eight years are more than 3.5%; 3) to characterize the achievement of sustainable acceleration GDP per capita is greater than the highest level after the onset of the acceleration phase. As the main determinants of accelerated economic growth, the characteristics of institutional quality (the rule of law, control of corruption and the quality of regulation), factors of accumulation (the share of gross accumulation of fixed capital in GDP and characteristics of human capital through the measurement of the duration of education and the profitability of education), the openness of trade ( share of trade to GDP) and natural resources (share of revenues from natural resources to GDP). The research was carried out using Probit, Logit and Tobit models. Logit and Probit modeling made it possible to assess the impact on the acceleration of economic growth: changes in human capital as insignificantly positive; trade openness – as a minor positive, changes in natural resources as a significant positive, increase in the share of investment in GDP – as the largest positive. An increase in institutional quality does not lead to an increase in the chances of the studied countries (the rule of law index has a slight positive effect, the corruption control index has a slight negative effect, the only positive effect that deserves attention concerns the regulation quality index). The results of Tobit modeling demonstrate a statistically significant positive impact of institutional quality, regulatory quality, rule of law, investment and natural resources on the acceleration of economic growth. Thus, the acceleration of economic growth observed in the countries of East Asia, the Middle East and North Africa is a direct result of successful policies aimed at improving institutional quality, promoting investment and harnessing the positive impact of natural resources.

Examining the Contribution of Logistics and Supply Chain in Boosting Oman’s Trade Network

Economic integration, which in today’s global trade is the fundamental component of linking economic ties between countries, is another important factor in the acceleration of economic growth. The provision of trade logistics services is essential to a nation’s economic success in international trade activities. It is essential for enterprises engaged in active international trade to achieve competitive advantages. The international trade and localised commercial activity, to a large extent, is dependent on the logistics and supply chain infrastructure and operational capacity. However, the area received little attention from the perspective of applied economics. The in-depth empirical studies on the impacts of logistics on trade efficiency are few and limited. The study aims to investigate the role of logistics and supply chains in international and national trade in a developing country. It uses secondary data for the analysis. The model and software used in the study are the gravity model and GTAP10a. The time horizon used spans 2014–2030. The results show that in order to enhance trading and commercial activities, a developing country should develop logistics and supply chain infrastructure, train people, and design a flexible logistics policy.

Sector policies and their role for the growth of the Bulgarian economy

Changes in the sectoral structure of the economy illustrate many processes and are an indicator of the nature and speed of economic development in the country. The industry structure is also an important part when analyzing the rates and proportions of economic development. The significance of these changes in individual sectors is determined by their place and role in the production process. Therefore, the correct assessment and the possibilities for their accelerated development can actively contribute to the acceleration of economic growth. The object of research in this article is the structure of the Bulgarian economy and the changes that occurred in it in the period 1995-2022. The purpose of this article is to track and analyze changes in the sectoral structure of the economy by means of appropriate statistical and econometric tools. The dynamics of development of the three economic sectors (agriculture, industry and services) in the economy are different. In general, industry and services are growing more. The conclusion we reach is that the changes in the structure of the economy are more due to the differences in the rates of decline, and not so much in the rates of growth of some of the sectors.

An important component in this issue is the possibility of using technologies based on artificial intelligence. This leads to an acceleration of economic growth and scientific and technological development and creates prerequisites for the harmonious development of the country’s economy as a whole.

Impact Of Oil Consumption on China's National Economy

China as a large energy-consuming country in the oil industry is particularly significant, and its economy has been affected by oil consumption to a certain extent. The purpose of this paper is to explore the impact of China's oil consumption on the national economy, and whether oil is the center of China's future development. Under the carbon-reducing background, oil in transport will gradually be replaced by new energy sources, and the transition from oil vehicles to trams is inevitable. However, China's economic development so far cannot be separated from oil, and it is very important to guarantee energy security. During the epidemic, the Chinese government's self-imposed quarantine policy led to a significant drop in the number of people traveling, reducing the demand for oil and significantly slowing economic growth. However, as the epidemic is gradually brought under control in 2022, the demand for oil, consumption and investment will gradually rise. This has led to an acceleration of economic growth. This paper analyses the impact of China's oil price volatility, policy and industrial structure changes on a number of national economic factors, namely consumption, taxation, investment and international trade, and finds that oil consumption has so far been on the rise, and accounts for a very large proportion of the economy - excluding transport, oil is also very important in other areas and cannot be fully replaced. It has been found that oil consumption is still on the rise and represents a very large part of the economy - in addition to transport, oil is also very important in other areas and cannot be completely replaced, and consumption will continue to rise, with positive effects on the economy.

Estimating the Spatial Spillover Effects of Transportation Infrastructure on Economic Growth in an Archipelagic Nation

Transportation infrastructure plays a crucial role in facilitating economic growth and mitigating socio-economic disparities. Countries with adequate transportation infrastructure have a comparative advantage in international and domestic trade and in reducing economic and social disparities. Numerous studies have examined the spatial relationship between transportation infrastructure and economic growth, particularly in developed nations like the US and China. However, research on developing countries is scarce and pays little attention to archipelagic nations like the Philippines. This paper estimates the spatial spillover effects of transportation infrastructures in the three major islands of the Philippines for the time period 2003–2020 using the spatial Durbin model (SDM). More specifically, it examined the spatial spillover effects of transportation infrastructure, specifically roads, bridges, airports, and seaports on economic growth. The findings indicate the presence of positive spillover effects of transportation infrastructure at both the national and island levels. However, the spillover effects of transportation infrastructure variables differ significantly across the three major islands. The road length in Luzon and Visayas exhibits a negative trend, whereas Mindanao demonstrates a significant positive trend. The bridges in Luzon and Visayas are positive. Airport passengers in Visayas and Mindanao are negative. Seaport passenger is negative in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Seaport cargo is positive across major islands. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of appropriate and targeted transportation infrastructure investments in each of the major islands has the potential to foster economic growth Moreover, the results can serve as a valuable resource and integral element of the government’s strategic plan for national and regional development, facilitating the acceleration of economic growth and enhancing productivity at the regional level.

The Convergence of Economic Growth: Case Study of East Java

Economic growth is a parameter in achieving regional economic development, which describes an increase in the actual production capacity and the dynamics of the regional economy. This study aims to determine whether there is a yearly decrease in economic growth inequality (sigma convergence) or an acceleration of low economic growth to high economic growth (beta convergence) in East Java in 2016 – 2021. This study used secondary data. The analytical method used in this study is convergence and panel data regression analysis. The results showed that the dispersion of economic growth experienced a downward trend, indicating the occurrence of sigma convergence in East Java. Underdeveloped regions do not grow faster than developed regions, showing no absolute beta convergence in East Java. The HDI and Population Variables have not been able to accelerate convergence in East Java, indicating no conditional beta convergence in East Java.

As a subsidiary of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), PT Pelabuhan Indonesia Investama exists as a manifestation of the need for Business Development Support, Capacity Building Funding and Strengthening Risk Management. As an investment company that supports the port sector, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia Investama also supports the acceleration of economic growth in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of training and work experience on the career development of employees at PT Pelabuhan Indonesia Investama. This study was an employee of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia Investama and the number of samples obtained was 51 respondents. The data collection technique used is non-probability sampling with saturated sampling technique. The approach method in this study uses quantitative methods with observation and questionnaire methods. The data analysis technique used is instrument test, descriptive analysis, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination test, and hypothesis testing using SPSS 25. The results of this study indicate that the training variable has a positive and significant effect on career development, experience variable work has a positive and significant effect on career development, training and work experience variables simultaneously have a positive effect on career development

The Role of Islamic Philanthropy in Post Covid-19 Pandemic Economic Recovery

This research aims to explain the important role of Islamic philanthropy, which contains elements such as zakat, infaq, shadaqah and waqaf, to make a real contribution to the economic problems caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is a qualitative descriptive method with a library approach, where secondary data is used in the form of research findings, books, journals and articles related to the research topic. Data collection in this research involved literature searches through academic databases, literature selection and data extraction. This research uses literature synthesis analysis, quality evaluation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this research explain that the critical role of Islamic philanthropy in contributing to economic recovery is: (1) The need to establish UPZ in every village in Indonesia (2) Maximization of the cash zakat program along with productive zakat (3) The need to optimize the management of zakat and infaq (4) Providing educational program assistance to students affected by Covid-19, prioritizing Islamic economics students in the hope that they can make a real contribution to society through education or knowledge about Islamic economics. Of course, if several of the programs mentioned can run as expected, the acceleration of Indonesia's economic growth will soon be realized.

Socio-Economic Development of Tibet in the 8th Five-Year Plan (1991–1995). Part 6

The fourth session of the NPC of the VII convocation (March 25 — April 9, 1991) approved a ten-year plan for the socio-economic development of the People's Republic of China (1991–2000), as well as a plan for the 8th five-year plan. According to the eighth five-year plan, the average annual growth rate of the country's GDP in 1991–1995 was to be 6 %. However, the collapse of the socialist system in Eastern Europe and the dismantling of the USSR in December 1991 forced the Chinese leadership to reconsider the country's development strategy. In January-February 1992, Deng Xiaoping went to the south of the country, where he expressed ideas about the future development of the country. On the basis of this, a decision was made on a new acceleration of economic growth and the transition to a new economic strategy: the “socialist market economy system”. As a result of the measures taken, the average annual growth rate for the 8th five-year period amounted to 11.8 % — the best results in the economic history of the People's Republic of China. Tibet, as one of the five autonomous regions of China, has also revised the strategy of economic development in accordance with the general one in the country, considering its specifics. The main task of the economic development of Tibet was the accelerated development of the region, the fight against poverty, the full stimulation of market relations and openness. During the eighth five-year plan, Tibet managed to solve many problems and achieve many successes.

Individualized movie recommendation system saves users the time of searching, viewing and screening, and discovers users' potential movie preferences at the same time. Most users think that the algorithm can help them find the type they want from a large quantity of film and television resources, so as to meet the needs of users and tap their potential interests.

The article is devoted to the formation of an economy in which there is a relative surplus of money. Excess money is seen as a consequence of the policy of quantitative easing, which was carried out by the central banks of developed countries. Peculiarities of growth in the ratio of money supply and gross domestic product for individual countries have been studied. It is shown that financing the reconstruction of Ukraine corresponds to the own economic interests of the donor countries, as it will help to correct certain systemic imbalances of monetary circulation in their economies. This imbalance is embodied in a relative surplus of money. This surplus is of a different nature than that implied by the quantity theory of money. From the point of view of behavioral economics, money is a tool for motivating the subject to action (or, when necessary, inaction). Stimulation of activity, in particular, entrepreneurial activity, due to the opportunity to get more money is a characteristic feature of the capitalist economy. Considering that the value of money is important not in itself, but in relation to what it is used for, we can imagine that the creeping inflation of even the most seemingly basic and solid world currencies (the US dollar, the British pound, the euro) is evidence of a certain loss of vision of what money is needed for and, accordingly, how much money is needed in the economy. The dynamics of the ratio of the money supply to the manufactured product can serve as an indicator of the existence of a problem in the monetary supply of the functioning of the world economy. A gradual increase in the ratio of money supply to GDP is observed in all countries. The rate of growth of this indicator in developed countries is generally close to the world average. In poor countries characterized by low rates of economic growth, the ratio of money supply to GDP remains quite low. Moreover, in our opinion, the leading role here is played not so much by low per capita income as by low rates of economic growth. According to the group of countries with an average level of per capita income (and especially, with “above average” incomes), the ratio is significantly higher than the world average level. The growth of the ratio of money supply to GDP is especially noticeable in the countries of the Far East, which took as an example the strategy that led to the Japanese “ economic miracle.” This strategy involves the acceleration of economic growth at the expense of the preemptive development of export-oriented industries. Periods of accelerated economic development precisely reveal the motivational role of money. Entrepreneursinnovators should receive more money. the state, or rather, its monetary regulator, the central bank, facilitates the conditions providing loans to help innovators dare and take a decisive step into something new. Entrepreneurs have separated the desire to earn money from the desire to spend to meet real needs. Due to the saturation of the economy with money, the state has already reached a high level of monetization, which indicates accumulated monetary wealth. The owners of this monetary wealth need new directions of investment, because after the ideological and motivational potential of Internetization was exhausted, the banking and financial infrastructure began to fail. A series of crises (2001, 2008-2009, 2020) was the result of a mismatch between the large accumulated monetary wealth and the lack of ideas for its profitable investment. Reconstruction of Ukraine can become such a profitable investment idea.

Reconstruction Of Regional Autonomy To Strengthen Governor's Authority

<p><em><span lang="EN-SG">Autonomy is one of the essences of realizing regional independence and accelerating development, so that the community will enjoy development through the role of local governments that involve the community directly in development based on local wisdom. However, in the implementation of regional autonomy, problems arise and there are still many regions that are not prosperous and unable to make it happen. To get out of the problems faced in the implementation of autonomy, reconstruction of several inhibiting factors is carried out, namely: </span><span lang="EN-US">exploitation of regional income, understanding of the concept of decentralization and regional autonomy that is not yet stable, provision of inadequate regulations for implementing regional autonomy </span><span lang="EN-SG">, </span><span lang="EN-US">human resources of government officials who have not fully supported the implementation of autonomy. area </span><span lang="EN-SG">. </span><span lang="EN-US">corruption in the regions, a factor in the potential emergence of conflicts between regions. Relationship between Innovation and Economic Growth in the Example of the Republic of Kazakhstan

This article examines the relationship between innovation, education and economic growth in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Many empirical studies have proved a positive relationship between innovation and economic growth, that innovation has become a major component of global economic growth. Despite the acceleration of economic growth in various countries, including Kazakhstan, the relationship between economic growth and innovation in the country remains unclear. This study examined the impact of three factors: R&D, academic staff and innovation spending on economic growth in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The identified groups of indicators of economic development consist of sub-indicators. A regression analysis was done based on statistical data from 2009 to 2021. SPSS software was used for data processing. Three pairs of hypotheses were developed. The results of the first and third groups of hypotheses are similar only in those indicators that represent the total number of participants in innovative development, whose influence on economic development becomes strong. Thus, we can conclude that there is a strong relationship between GDP and indicators of educational and innovation factors. There is a relationship between the indicators of the academic staff in R&D and all enterprises that are involved in the process of development and implementation of innovations in Kazakhstan. The proposed hypotheses were accepted. Government agencies can use the results of this study in the development of innovation policy in the country.

Entrepreneurship is essentially the nature, characteristics, and character of a person who has the will to creatively realize innovative ideas in the real world. Villages have the potential that can be developed into tourist villages, namely natural potential, human resource potential, and cultural potential. In this millennial era, young people are required to think creatively and innovatively. Creative economic development towards a tourist village for youth at MA Ishlahil Athfal Rumak, Kediri District, West Lombok Regency which begins with starting a business as an entrepreneur will encourage the acceleration of community economic growth in Rumak Village, Kediri District, West Lombok Regency. The conclusion obtained from this community service activity is that the creative economic development of youth at MA Ishlahil Athfal Rumak, Kediri District in building a tourist village after the implementation of community service activities is the formation of a change in the mindset of young people to pioneer a business which will later provide tourism village development for Rumak Village in Kediri District. Suggestions that can be given for the development of a creative economy for a tourist village are to build types of businesses such as souvenirs, handicrafts, and art.

The development of the Arctic zone as a strategic resource base and its rational use aimed at the economic growth acceleration is a key interest of the Russian Federation in this region. The occupational environment in mining industry is associated with unique working conditions. Underground mining makes workers’ health protection the most significant task. The aim of this study was to perform hygienic assessment of working conditions, occupational incidence and occupational health risks for workers employed in mining industry in the Arctic zone of the Norilsk industrial area. Occupational health risks were assessed using indicators outlined in the Guide R 2.2.2006-05 The Guide on Hygienic Assessment of Factors Related to Working Environment and Work Process. Exposure to occupational noise and considerable work hardness are priority factors in the analyzed industry that cause occupational diseases. Occupational diseases among workers employed in mining industry in the Norilsk industrial area belonged to six nosologies. Vibration disease, stages 1 and 2, makes the greatest contribution to the overall structure of occupational incidence since it accounts for 68.6 % in it. The second place belongs to two-sided sensorineural hearing loss, stages 1 and 2, 13.5 %. Radiculopathy occupies the third rank place accounting for 10.9 %. Unacceptable occupational health risks were identified at 76.8 % of workplaces. A high share of workplaces with unacceptable occupational health risks leads to high occupational incidence among mining workers in the Norilsk industrial area, its levels being higher than the national average.

Perspectives of using the integration mechanisms of education’s development for accelerating Russia’s economic growth

The article aims at selecting the most perspective mechanisms and finding the perspectives of using the integration mechanisms of education development for accelerating Russia’s economic growth. The methods of correlation and regression analysis are used. It is proved – by the example of top universities in Russia in 2020 – that the development of higher education and maximization of its contribution to the acceleration of economic growth could be achieved based on the integration mechanisms with the participation of universities. It is determined that optimization should be applied to educational (quality of higher education), scientific (R&D), and international (globalization) activities of universities, which could reach its maximum in case of an increase in the number of incubators in each university up to 5 units, number of centers of shared use of scientific equipment up to 40 units, and number of small companies up to 41. It is determined that citations and profitability (effectiveness) of universities do not depend on integration mechanisms in higher education. Such integration mechanisms as employer-sponsored education, practice bases, and technological parks do not contribute to the improvement of the indicators of universities’ activities and thus their development is inexpedient. The practical significance of the authors’ conclusions and recommendations is that they allow raising the effectiveness of university management and optimizing the organizational and managerial conditions under which the potential of universities in the sphere of support for the implementation of the social and investment model of economic growth is unlocked in the most comprehensive way.

Banking Support in Economic Sector Affected by Covid-19 To Support Acceleration of Economic Growth and Overcome the Long-Term Impact

Indonesia's economic growth contracted 0.7% because it was influenced by the Covid-19 pandemic, this study examines the potential and contribution of banks in improving Indonesia's economic conditions during the pandemic. The banking sector is one sector that greatly influences the rate of economic growth of a country and banking has great potential to develop more rapidly in Indonesia. This study uses quantitative methods and uses panel data with a sample of 18 business sectors in Indonesia with a time span of 2018 to 2021. The variables in this study are GDP, Loan Interest Rates and Commercial Bank Loans with this calculation using the EViews 9 analysis tool by testing hypothesis and classical assumption test, it is hoped that the variables used in the study support banking in the economic sector affected by COVID-19 and have an insignificant effect and have a positive relationship in supporting the acceleration of economic growth and overcoming the prolonged impact.
