Analisis Tingkat Kepuasan Mahasiswa dalam Pengisian KRS di Website Student Universitas Amikom Purwokerto Menggunakan Metode EUCS

Student Web is an information system developed by Amikom University Purwokerto to assist students in managing academic administration, including filling out Study Plan Cards (KRS). However, this website often experiences disruptions and errors during KRS filling periods with high access, resulting in difficulties in accessing, delays in course selection, and schedule conflicts. This has an impact on student satisfaction in using the service. This research aims to measure the level of user satisfaction with the quality of the Amikom University Purwokerto Student Website on the KRS filling feature, using the End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) method. The sample consisted of 100 active students at Amikom University, Purwokerto. The results of the hypothesis test show that there is 1 variable that does not show a significant influence, namely the content variable, and there are 4 variables that have an influence, namely accuracy, format, ease of use and timeliness.

ANALYSIS OF THE QUALITY OF ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES ON STUDENT SATISFACTION OF STIE BENTARA PERSADA

This research examines the quality of services provided by the Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Bentara Persada (STIE BP) and its influence on the level of student satisfaction with the Academic Administration Bureau services. This research was conducted to determine the influence of reliability, responsiveness, sincerity and tangibility on student satisfaction. This research includes causal-comparative research, namely research to test one variable influencing another variable. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire distributed to all 73 active STIE BP students. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis, by looking at the t-test and f-test. The results of this study conclude that there is a positive and significant influence of reliability on student satisfaction, there is no positive and significant influence of responsiveness on student satisfaction, there is no positive and significant influence of sincerity (empathy) on student satisfaction, there is a positive and Tangibility has a significant impact on student satisfaction. Simultaneously, the four variables have a positive and significant effect on student satisfaction, with a coefficient of determination (r2) of 0.432 meaning, the four independent variables influence the student satisfaction variable by 43.2%, while the remainder (56.8%) is influenced by other variables not examined in this research.

The EU’s Fifth Freedom: Why and How to Develop the ‘Freedom of Knowledge’

The goal of a fifth EU freedom – the ‘freedom of knowledge’ – emerged from working towards a unified European research area, expanding upon the four basic freedoms of the Single Market. This additional freedom is not yet guaranteed and so this task should be taken up anew. Here, I support this goal by explicating the meaning of the ‘fifth freedom’, then justifying its importance via four arguments concerning scientific progress, freedom of research, the economic and technological progress of societies, and the democratic ideals of the European project. To end the main article, I then argue that this freedom should be viewed as a right. In the supplementary material, I present problems that arise in the administration, funding, and organization of science within the EU to demonstrate that the fifth freedom is still a long way from being a reality. The evidence includes cases of national rules and practices that reduce or block the mobility of EU researchers and weaken collaboration and progress. For each type of problem, I present specific policy proposals for advancing the fifth freedom goal. The proposals are directed at academic administrations, funding agencies, and political actors at the regional, national, and European levels.

Educational Institution Administration Using the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy under the Jurisdiction of the Chaiyaphum Provincial Learning Promotion Office

Background and Aims: Education is an important factor that helps develop the people and the nation in every aspect. The Ministry of Education therefore has a policy to develop every educational institution to be able to carry out teaching and learning according to the philosophy of sufficiency economy. Focusing on quality and sustainable development so that the educational institution can be a learning center according to the aforementioned philosophy. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a model for organizing learning activities and school administration in line with the philosophy of the sufficiency economy. This research has three objectives: (1) A study of educational institution administration using the philosophy of sufficiency economy in educational institutions under the Chaiyaphum Provincial Learning Promotion Office. (2) Comparison of educational institution administration using the philosophy of sufficiency economy in educational institutions under the Chaiyaphum Provincial Learning Promotion Office. And (3) a study of guidelines for developing educational institution administration using the philosophy of sufficiency economy in educational institutions under the Chaiyaphum Provincial Learning Promotion Office. Methodology: The research sample consisted of 280 school administrators and teachers under the Chaiyaphum Provincial Learning Promotion Office. The research tools were questionnaires and interviews. which is a 5-level rating scale. The reliability value was 0.90 and the consistency value (IOC) was in the range of 0.8 to 1.00 for basic statistics used in data analysis, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Statistics used in hypothesis testing include T-test, F-test, and Scheffe's Method. Results: The results of the research found that (1) the administration of educational institutions using the philosophy of sufficiency economy under the Office of Learning Promotion, Chaiyaphum Province Overall it is at a high level. When considering each aspect, it was found that all aspects of educational institution administration using the philosophy of Sufficiency Economy were at a high level. (3) Guidelines for developing educational institution administration using the philosophy of sufficiency economy under the Chaiyaphum Provincial Learning Promotion Office. Conclusion: School administrators and teachers are aware of the importance of school administration using the philosophy of Sufficiency Economy. Under the Chaiyaphum Provincial Learning Promotion Office, there are clear operating procedures. There is coordination and cooperation both inside and outside the educational institution, all sectors, communities and related agencies. Applied in educational operations efficient administration of educational institutions using the philosophy of sufficiency economy according to the context of each educational institution. Academic Administration that Affects Proactive Learning of Educational Institutions under Chaiyaphum Municipality

Background and Aims: This research aims to study and compare the level of academic administration that affects active learning management in educational institutions under Chaiyaphum Municipality. The analysis will be separated according to educational level. Work experience and type of educational institution. Methodology: The sample used in the research consisted of 129 personnel in educational institutions under Chaiyaphum Municipality, which were obtained from stratified random sampling. Mapping Open Access Publishing Trends in Central Universities of North East India: A Scientometric Approach

ABSTRACT The study analyses open access publications across the 10 central universities of North East India, focusing on publication trends, disciplinary distribution, citation impact, collaboration patterns, and open access licensing patterns. It compiles scholarly outputs from the OpenAlex API, integrating various data sources such as Microsoft Academic Graph, ORCID, Crossref, and Unpaywall. A total of 28,832 publications from 2004–2023 were collected and analyzed using statistical methods. The findings reveal a positive trend in research output across the represented universities, with an increasing emphasis on OA publications. However, the proportion of OA publications remains relatively low compared to closed access. Citation impact varies among universities, reflecting differences in research quality and visibility. Open repositories such as SSRN, Research Square, and Zenodo are crucial in promoting OA publishing. The study also reveals common usage of licenses such as CC-BY and CC-BY-NC-ND, with variations across universities. The impact on libraries is also discussed, emphasizing the role of libraries in promoting OA, supporting researchers, and contributing to scholarly communication advancement. This study provides valuable insights for policymakers, academic administrators, and researchers seeking to promote a culture of openness, collaboration, and innovation in scholarly communication within the region, country, and at the global level.

This research aims to analyze the level of student satisfaction with the services provided by the Academic Administration and Registration Bureau at Stella Maris University, Sumba. The method used in this research is a survey with a quantitative approach, where data is collected through questionnaires distributed to students from various study programs. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistical techniques to describe the characteristics of respondents and their level of satisfaction with various aspects of service, including speed of service, quality of information, and the attitude of bureau officers. The research results show that the majority of students are satisfied with the services provided, although there are several aspects that need to be improved, such as response time to questions and completeness of the information provided. This research provides recommendations for service improvements, including increased training for bureau staff and the development of more efficient information systems. It is hoped that these findings can contribute to improving the quality of academic administration services at Stella Maris University, Sumba.

Background and Aims: A study of academic administration of administrators of technical colleges under the jurisdiction of the Vocational Education Office in Khon Kaen province. The goal is to investigate and compare the academic administration of administrators from technical colleges under the Khon Kaen Vocational Education Office, stratified by gender, education level, and work experience. Methodology: The population for this study consisted of 487 technical college teachers employed by the Khon Kaen Vocational Education Office during the academic year 2023, with a sample size of 215 people. The sample size was determined using Krejcie and Morgan tables and obtained via stratified random sampling. The research tool is a questionnaire. It has the characteristics of a five-level estimation scale. It inquires about the academic administration of administrators at technical colleges managed by the Khon Kaen Vocational Education Office. The confidence level is 0.95. Frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and testing statistics are all examples of data analysis statistics. The t-test and F-test are included as assumptions. Using access to higher education to redress inequities: tensions between equity and excellence in the polytechnic universities in Mexico

ABSTRACT Despite the expansion of higher education and the growing number of students from disadvantaged socioeconomic background and/or from ethnic minorities who now access university places, inequalities in access to higher education based on social class and origin remain a challenge. This article analyses the Polytechnic Universities in Mexico, examining them as a public policy for democratising access to higher education. We conducted 15 semi-structured interviews with the rectors and heads of the academic administration staff of 12 Polytechnic Universities, aiming to identify the limits and potential of the various strategies that make the PU model a policy of equity. These strategies include (i) the geographical decentralisation of university campuses, (ii) the scholarships and financial aid programmes, and (iii) the recruitment campaigns to attract new students. The interviews enable us to uncover the trade-off between equity and excellence and to observe how the PU model addresses it. While some of the responses and effects have already been examined in the literature, others highlight some nuanced specificities in the context of PUs in Mexico. Our results provide evidence that suggests a need to reconsider the most effective equity PUs strategies for enhancing access to higher education for disadvantaged populations in Mexico.

DEVELOPMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEM STUDENT PERIOD COMPLETION MOBILE-BASED

This research aims to develop a mobile-based student study period completion information system in JPTE. The system developed uses the fountain development model approach with 5 stages, namely analysis, subsystem requirements, design, implementation, and testing. The purpose of choosing the fountain model is to ensure flexibility in development and adaptation to user needs. Black Box testing is carried out to ensure that each main feature, such as login, thesis/final project upload, journal upload notification, input and display of graduation dates, as well as management of student and KAPRODI data, functions according to the specifications set. The test results show that all 100% of the features successfully meet the expected functional criteria, with a system that is able to provide easy access, flexibility, and responsiveness. Overall, the Black Box test results show that the system is ready to be used by users and meets all the functional requirements that have been set. This mobile-based information system is expected to improve the efficiency of academic administration management and support the smooth process of completing the student study period.

Crossing and dismantling boundaries: recognising the value of professional staff within higher education

In this article, we use the concept of the third space to explore how professional staff within UK universities experience boundaries. We focus on professional staff working in three areas of higher education that have been conceptualised differently as third spaces to date: widening participation, technical staff and academic administration. We draw on empirical research from three distinct, but related, qualitative research projects that explored contemporary issues, institutional change, professional identities, relationships and expertise within these under-researched professional contexts. We show how boundaries are experienced, crossed and sometimes dismantled. We highlight where increased collaboration has a positive effect on achieving institutional goals through improved relationships between academic and professional staff, and the recognition of diverse forms of knowledge within the university workforce. We argue for a conception of the third space that is not a discrete or distinct space, which professionals work within or outside of, but instead conceived of as a way of working, which all higher education professionals may engage in, to greater or lesser extents. Doing so provides new insights into the existence of third space working among new professional groups and highlights the potential for all professional staff to engage in third space working to the benefit of their institutions.

This research aims to find out or predict the number of new students who will register for admission at the UNTRIB Kalabahi campus in 2024. The data collection technique used in this research is secondary data obtained from BAAK (Student Academic Administration Bureau) UNTRIB Kalabahi from 2007 until 2023 there are 17 data. The method used in this research is the Double Exponential Smoothing method from Brown to analyze the number of new students in 2024 based on new student data in 2007-2023 by testing using 9 alpha value parameters, namely 0.1 to 0.9 by looking at the Mean value The smallest Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). The research results show that the smallest MAPE value is 6.35% with an alpha parameter value of 0.5. The estimated number of new student admissions in the 2024/2025 academic year is 590 people

Why don't faculty members report incidents of online abuse and what can be done about it?

The mobilization of academic research via online platforms presents a troubling paradox. Digital-first publications offer the opportunity for scholars to reach a wider audience, yet this same online vehicle for knowledge mobilization opens scholars to the risk of online abuse. Furthermore, the concept of online abuse is often misunderstood or dismissed by post-secondary institution administrators. The aim of this research is to understand why faculty members who experience online abuse do not report the such abuse to their administration, even though there is indication that support from administration is needed to manage the problem. Drawing from a series of semi-structured interviews and focus groups, this research examines the reasons why faculty members decide not to report their experiences of online abuse to their various academic administrators. A total of 11 faculty members in academic positions located North America agreed to participate in the research. We used a combination of semi-structured and narrative interview questions to understand participants’ experiences of online abuse. The data was coded using the constant comparative approach to identify emergent themes (Glaser & strauss, 1967), a nd guided by the research questions. The Theory of Planned Behavior was used to schematize the attitudes, social norms, and perceived behavioral controls that dissuade reporting of online abuse, and provide institutional recommendations that may encourage reporting and improve support for targeted faculty members. This study contributes to theory and practice by offering that when academic administrators foster a culture of care, faculty would be encouraged to report incidences of online abuse.

Campus sustainability office representations of the DEIJ-sustainability nexus

The number of campus sustainability offices in the USA has grown over the past two decades. These offices evolve from myriad origins such as an outgrowth of a facilities department, academic administration, or student activism. Some campus sustainability office missions are closely aligned with environmental sustainability, whereas others include the intersection of environmental with human factors such as cultural and economic sustainability. As potential breadth and scope evolves, each college’s sustainability office has new horizons to choose among. These decisions are shaped by factors such as institutional strategic goals, funding, opportunities, and management choices. One of the possible directions for campus sustainability offices is to highlight how the office contributes to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) efforts on campus. These observations are placed into literature on the changing roles of campus sustainability offices, the evolving roles of DEIJ efforts on college campuses, and of website-based representations for audiences internal and external to colleges. In so doing, the article categorizes ways in which sustainability offices present themselves as advancing DEIJ on campuses. This is done by comparing website content from a cross-section of US-based university sustainability offices. Results allow campus decision-makers to see a range of options for advancing DEIJ through sustainability. These results are also of use to faculty in sustainability-related programs to think through course design and community engagement activities. Scholars of higher education management will also be able to see the broader landscape of how DEIJ and sustainability offices align.

Pedagogical and didactic skills of accounting faculty members and the intention and use of educational technologies in the teaching-learning process

The present study aimed to identify the didactic-pedagogical competencies of Accounting faculty members and their intention to use educational technologies in the teaching-learning process. To achieve this, a descriptive study with a quantitative methodology was conducted, involving the administration of a questionnaire to a sample of 258 Accounting faculty members across Brazil. The study aimed to define respondent characteristics, quantify teaching competencies following Zabalza's (2003) framework, and measure the adoption of technologies in the teaching-learning process using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model. The data demonstrated that faculty members understand the functioning and importance of virtual learning environments, and they express interest in integrating technologies into the teaching process to improve outcomes. However, reports indicate that some educational institutions do not provide adequate support for the use of technological tools. These findings provide a foundation for academic administrators to assess the technical support and technological qualifications necessary to enhance faculty development and, consequently, education as a whole.

This paper presents key findings from a study conducted with several universities in the GCC region regarding their approach and use of e-Assessment within their learning environments. The study identifies key factors that could impact the use and quality of e-Assessment, and describe how those factors could influence forming a consistent and effective approach to employ a long-term e-Assessment approach. Data was collected from several higher education institutions in the GCC region, using an online survey, in-depth interviews with academic administrators, and direct observation. The study identifies six critical factors that may have a direct or indirect impact on forming a consistent and effective approach to employ a long-term e-Assessment approach. Moreover, the study reveals a strong correlation between e-Assessment quality, and the centralization of e-Assessment strategy, e-Assessment administration, and e-Assessment Technology.
