Enhancing the efficacy of feminine hygiene sanitary napkins by developing a super absorbent polymer based on methyl methacrylate and methacrylic acid

AbstractSuper absorbent polymer based on methyl methacrylate (MMA), methacrylic acid (MAA) has been prepared during the present work for coating the top layer of feminine sanitary napkins. Synthesized polymers were coated on the needly punched cotton and adjusted as the top layer of the sanitary napkins, which has been prepared. The samples were evaluated by means of absorbency capacity, rewet back, strike through, and pH by the comparative study with commercially available sanitary napkin. The most suitable ratio of monomers (60 g MMA, and 40 g MAA) for synthesizing polymer was suggested. Absorbency capacity of the said ratio is competing with commercial sample with 63.68 g absorbent capacity. Specially, pH of prepared polymers suggested the acidic value and those are more preferable for maintaining the acidic pH of vagina at the menstrual time. Present work suggests the polymer, which can be utilize for coating the feminine napkin by the comparative result suggested by absorbency capacity, rewet back, strike through, and pH.

Impact of absorber surface coatings on the thermal performance of non-concentrating solar thermal collectors: An overview

In this critical evaluation, the impact of absorber surface coating on the thermal efficiency (%) of non-concentrating solar thermal collectors (STCs) is examined and discussed. Absorber surface coatings enable an almost instantaneous conversion of solar radiation into heat. To achieve high sunlight absorption capacity and low solar emittance, several types of selective solar coatings are continually being developed. This review article offers a novel aspect based on extensive research that has been published in the past related to the impact of absorber surface coating on the thermal performance of non-concentrating STCs. The article demonstrates the commonalities in the results by thoroughly evaluating all the coating types that have the potential to influence STC's performance. An exhaustive examination of the available research from several studies shows that absorber surface coating enhances the STC absorber's capacity to absorb heat.

Fabrication and Therapeutic Process of a Green Silver-Nanoparticle-Embedded Mucilage Microsphere for Pathogenic-Bacteria-Infected Second-Degree Burn and Excision Wounds.

Multidrug-resistant bacteria are a serious problem in biomedical applications that decrease the wound healing process and increase the mortality rate. Therefore, in this study, we have prepared a green-synthesized silver-nanoparticle-encapsulated mucilage microsphere (HMMS@GSNP) from Hibiscus rosa sinensis leaves and applied it to pathogen-infected burn and excision wounds. Biophysical properties like size, polydispersity index, absorbance capacity, and drug release were measured by different techniques like field-emission scanning electron microscopy, dynamic light scattering, swelling ratio, etc. The strong antibacterial activity of a HMMS@GSNP microsphere was measured by minimum inhibitory concentration assay, minimum bactericidal concentration assay, and agar well diffusion methods. The HMMS@GSNP microsphere enhanced the cell viability, cell proliferation, migration, antioxidant, and antiinflammation activity compared to untreated GSNP and HMMS, as quantified by MTT assay, BrdU assay, scratch wound assay, reactive oxygen species scavenging assay, and Western blot analysis, respectively. In the in vivo experiment, we used a methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus bacteria-infected, burn-and-excision-wound-created male BALB/c mice model. The HMMS@GSNP-treated burn-and-excision-wound-infected mice showed significant results compared to other groups (untreated, Silverex Ionic Gel, AgNO3, HMMS, and GSNP), and the mice tissues were utilized for bacteria count, immunoblot analysis, histological studies, and real-time polymerase chain reaction. Thus, the HMM@GSNP microsphere is an excellent therapeutic material that can be used as a topical agent for the management of chronic wound therapy.

A GIS-based multi-criteria decision analysis approach using AHP for rural settlement site selection and eco-village design in Erzincan, Turkey

In recent years, natural resource depletion, rapid population growth, and increasing urbanization have all reached new heights. All of these ecological problems that exceed the planet's absorbing capacity, have begun to imperil both human life and nature itself. Rural settlement plans aim to optimize the use of natural resources. Agricultural lands are used for non-agricultural purposes as a result of proper placement planning of rural settlements. The suitability of land for a specific purpose is determined via suitability analysis. Therefore, it is extremely important to use technological innovations in the selection of rural settlement areas in addition to considering the technical, economic, and social factors in determining the most suitable locations. With the advancement of computer technology, Geographical Information System (GIS) has become an important tool for more effective use of rural areas. In this study, the most suitable rural settlement area was determined by using GIS in Erzincan Province. Technical, social, cultural, and economic criteria were developed for the selection of the location. Alternative locations were analyzed using the GIS, Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis and the Analytical Hierarchy Process method based on the criteria and site data. The most suitable areas for rural settlements were chosen as the Merkez, Tercan, Kemaliye, and Kemah districts in Erzincan Province. Çağlayan town in the Merkez district has been determined as the most suitable region for an eco-village and a cost calculation and 3D eco-village design were carried out in Çağlayan.

Obtaining Medical Textiles Based on Viscose and Chitosan/Zinc Nanoparticles with Improved Antibacterial Properties by Using a Dielectric Barrier Discharge.

This study aimed to obtain functional viscose textiles based on chitosan coatings with improved antibacterial properties and washing durability. For that reason, before functionalization with chitosan/zinc nanoparticles (NCH+Zn), the viscose fabric was modified by nonthermal gas plasma of dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) to introduce into its structure functional groups suitable for attachment of NCH+Zn. NCH+Zn were characterized by measurements of hydrodynamic diameter and zeta potential and AFM. DBD-plasma-modified and NCH+Zn-functionalized fabrics were characterized by zeta potential measurements, ATR-FTIR spectroscopy, the calcium acetate method (determination of content of carboxyl and aldehyde groups), SEM, breaking-strength measurements, elemental analysis, and ICP-OES. Their antibacterial activity was determined under dynamic contact conditions. In addition to SEM, the NCH+Zn distributions on viscose fabrics were also indirectly characterized by measuring their absorbent capacities before and after functionalization with NCH+Zn. Washing durability was monitored through changes in the zeta potential, chitosan and zinc content, and antibacterial activity after 1, 3, and 5 washing cycles. The obtained results showed that DBD plasma modification contributed to the simultaneous improvement of NCH+Zn sorption and antibacterial properties of the viscose fabric functionalized with NCH+Zn, and its washing durability, making it suitable for the production of high-value-added medical textiles.

The measurement of different diaper parameters for the evaluation of postcircumcision bleeding and their significance for the İnfant's health.

Evaluation of circumcision bleeding cannot depend on the visual change in the diaper. Diapers have different product features and absorbency capacities. The apparent changes in the diapers may vary according to their absorbent capacity and may not be in parallel with the amount of bleeding. Before significant visual difference occurs, the patient's hemodynamics may be impaired. Aim of the study is to evaluate better circumcision bleeding. Patients were divided into groups according to 12 different brand diapers of the same size, containing super-absorbent material. The study started by 15/01/2022, and finished by end of 01/03/2022. Diapers with concealed brands were soaked with blood with equal hematocrit value in 100 ml with increments of 5 ml. 252 images were obtained by taking 21 images of each diaper with the same method. The diapers were evaluated colorimetrically, and numerical values were obtained showing the color differences in red, green, and blue and saturation and lightness. Working groups were formed according to 12 different brands of diapers of the same size, containing super-absorbent material. Standard statistical tests were performed using obtained values. : Dry diapers had different weights, volumes, and specific gravities; the diapers with the lowest unit weight were ranked ninth in terms of volume; the diapers with the highest specific gravity were ranked third in terms of thinness. There were significant differences in the blood on the diaper, and significant differences between some groups (p < 0.005); on the other hand, there was not any difference between some other groups (p > 0.05). There was a significant relationship in terms of Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) (P < 0.05 and P < 0.01). Visual graphic examination showed that linear but non-parallel color changes occurred. As the blood load increased, the visual and statistical differences between the diapers became more pronounced, and the curves diverged. Visual evaluation of the color change of the diapers may not give accurate results for bleeding follow-up. If necessary to use diapers after circumcision, it is more appropriate to prefer those with low absorbency capacity. Using fabric or cotton products in cases with bleeding risk may be recommended. If bleeding is suspected, hemogram control is the most appropriate option. Diaper manufacturers should warn consumers of the risk. In conclusion, we should be on the safe side for mortality and morbidity.

Mechanochemically Scaled-Up Alpha Cyclodextrin Nanosponges: Their Safety and Effectiveness as Ethylene Scavenger.

Aiming at the development of a greener ethylene removal alternative, the goal of this study was to scale up and ensure the safety of α-cyclodextrin nanosponges (α-CD-NS) for further use as ethylene scavengers. The solvent-free synthesis of α-CD-NS was successfully scaled up using α-cyclodextrin and N,N′-carbonyldiimidazole as cross-linkers (1:4 molar ratio) by means of mechanical alloying using a PM 100 ball mill by focusing on varying the rotation frequency, as determined by FTIR-ATR, X-ray diffraction, and TGA. α-CD-NS washing optimization was performed in water by monitoring the imidazole concentration in the washing solution through the validation of a fast and sensitive HPLC-DAD method. After 6 h at 40 °C, all imidazole was extracted, allowing a faster and less energy-dependent extraction. α-CD-NS absorbent capacity and porosity were also evaluated through BET isotherms and ethylene absorption experiments using α-CD-NS and commercially available absorbents (zeolite and bentonite) were performed by means of gas chromatography (GC) coupled to a flame ionization detector (FID). With a 93 µL h−1 kgadsorbent−1 ethylene removal capacity, α-CD-NS revealed the best ethylene scavenging activity when compared to the other absorbents, opening the doors for a safer, innovative, and eco-friendlier ethylene removal active packaging.

Evaluation the feasibility of using clinoptilolite as a gravel pack in water wells for removal of lead from contaminated groundwater.

The ability of clinoptilolite zeolite as a filter in water wells to remove lead from polluted groundwater was tested in batch and fixed-bed column experiments. XRF, XRD, SEM, and BET were used to characterize the zeolite. Because of the pH variation in groundwater, batch experiments were performed at pH = 6, 7, and 8, with the highest removal efficiency (84.2%) at pH = 6 and 298K within 90min. The Freundlich model accurately predicted metal ion adsorption behavior and indicated a multilayer adsorption of Pb(II) molecules on the inhomogeneous surface of clinoptilolite. The best-fitting kinetic model for clinoptilolite is the pseudo-second order equation, highlighting that the rate of adsorption is dependent on absorbent capacity. Next, the effect of flow rate, bed depth, and grain size of clinoptilolite on lead removal was investigated in column experiments at an initial concentration of 450mg pb/L. The highest removal efficiency was achieved in column experiments with a flow rate of 1mL/min, a bed height of 10cm, and a grain size of 0.6 to 0.8mm. Breakthrough curves were predicted by the Thomas and Yoon-Nelson models, with excellent agreement with the corresponding experimental data. This research will be used to develop a new in situ remedial approach for removing lead from polluted groundwater.

Synthesis and characterization of polypropylene glycol‐based novel organogels as effective materials for the recovery of organic solvents

AbstractIn this study, novel hydrophobic organogels were successfully prepared via the aza‐Michael addition reaction method using diamino terminated polypropylene glycol and diphenylmethane bismaleimide as monomers, in the presence of a tri‐amino functional polypropylene glycol as a crosslinking agent. The chemical structures, surface morphology, and thermal stability of the synthesized organogels were analyzed using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and solid‐state CPMAS 13C‐NMR, scanning electron microscope, and thermal gravimetric analysis technique, respectively. The effects of various parameters, such as the monomer ratio, amount of crosslinker, and as well as swelling properties of organogels by solvent absorption tests were studied. According to obtained results, the solvent uptake capacity increased with decreasing crosslinker ratio up to 30 wt%. The maximum solvent absorbency of the synthesized organogels were determined as 730%, 504%, 271%, 224%, 95%, and 17% for dichloromethane, tetrahydrofuran, benzene, acetone, gasoline and diesel oil, under optimum conditions, respectively. In addition, reusability of the organogels was evaluated for 10 cycles, depicting no significant loss in absorbance capacity. The fabricated organogels showed high solvent absorption efficiency with prospects as suitable material for the recovery of a wide range of organic solvents.

Absorbency of synthetic urine by cotton nonwoven fabric

Cotton fibres have been used in many absorbent products. A porous structure is most conducive to absorbing liquid. More is the porosity better would be the absorbent capacity. However, a porous fibrous structure is structurally fragile and can easily collapse during the absorbing process leading to changes in porosity, nature of pore structure and pore size distribution. The structural rigidity is influenced by fibre fineness and degree of mechanical bonding between the fibres. The absorbency characteristics and structural collapsing possibility of nonwoven fabrics made from very coarse and fine cotton fibres have been investigated using synthetic urine. It has been shown that the absorption capacity rises phenomenally, once the porosity crosses the value of 0.97. All nonwoven have been found to collapse laterally during absorption process, leading to lowering of absorption capacity especially in nonwovens consisting of fine fibres (3 micronaire). Nonwovens made from coarser fibres (6 micronaire) showed both higher absorption capacity and rate in comparison to those made from finer fibres (3 micronaire).

Circular economy in olive oil production – Olive mill solid waste to ethanol and heavy metal sorbent using microwave pretreatment

Olive mill solid waste (OMSW) is an abundant agricultural waste without viable solution. The effects of OMSW different pretreatments (microwave or autoclave), different additives (water, formic, or sulfuric acid), and utilization of different saccharification enzymes (Cellic® CTec2 or Accellerase® 1500) were tested on saccharification process and sugar release, and on fermentation inhibitors formation and ethanol production. Microwave treatment with formic acid resulted in highest saccharification rates (90% of cellulose fraction) and fermentation yields (15.9 g/L ethanol), although loss of sugars and fermentation inhibitors production was notable. Microwave with water treatment resulted in less saccharification and ethanol (9.6 g/L). To facilitate economical process and to extract maximum value, solid remnants after saccharification were tested as heavy metal sorbent. Microwave with water resulted in the best sorbent, followed by microwave with formic acid. Addition of sulfuric acid, to either microwave or autoclave, resulted in very poor saccharification and absorbance capacity. Therefore, combination of ethanol and sorbent production from OMSW are suggested.

Estimating the Impact of Carbon Dioxide Absorbent Performance Differences on Absorbent Cost During Low-Flow Anesthesia.

Reducing fresh gas flow when using a circle anesthesia circuit is the most effective strategy for reducing both inhaled anesthetic vapor cost and waste. As fresh gas flow is reduced, the amount of exhaled gas rebreathed increases, but the utilization of carbon dioxide absorbent increases as well. Reducing fresh gas flow may not make economic sense if the increased cost of absorbent utilization exceeds the reduced cost of anesthetic vapor. The primary objective of this study was to determine the minimum fresh gas flow at which absorbent costs do not exceed vapor savings. Another objective is to provide a qualitative insight into the factors that influence absorbent performance as fresh gas flow is reduced. A mathematical model was developed to compare the vapor savings with the cost of carbon dioxide absorbent as a function of fresh gas flow. Parameters of the model include patient size, unit cost of vapor and carbon dioxide absorbent, and absorbent capacity and efficiency. Boundaries for fresh gas flow were based on oxygen consumption or a closed-circuit condition at the low end and minute ventilation to approximate an open-circuit condition at the high end. Carbon dioxide production was estimated from oxygen consumption assuming a respiratory quotient of 0.8. For desflurane, the cost of carbon dioxide absorbent did not exceed vapor savings until fresh gas flow was almost equal to closed-circuit conditions. For sevoflurane, as fresh gas flow is reduced, absorbent costs increase more slowly than vapor costs decrease so that total costs are still minimized for a closed circuit. Due to the low cost of isoflurane, even with the most effective absorbent, the rate of absorbent costs increase more rapidly than vapor savings as fresh gas flow is reduced, so that an open circuit is least expensive. The total cost of vapor and absorbent is still lowest for isoflurane when compared with the other agents. The relative costs of anesthetic vapor and carbon dioxide absorbent as fresh gas flow is reduced are dependent on choice of anesthetic vapor and performance of the carbon dioxide absorbent. Absorbent performance is determined by the product selected and strategy for replacement. Clinicians can maximize the performance of absorbents by replacing them based on the appearance of inspired carbon dioxide rather than the indicator. Even though absorbent costs exceed vapor savings as fresh gas flow is reduced, isoflurane is still the lowest cost choice for the environmentally sound practice of closed-circuit anesthesia.

Robust porous organosilica monoliths via a surfactant-free high internal phase emulsion process for efficient oil-water separation

Elastic porous organosilica monoliths (POMs) are successfully prepared by water in oil (w/o) high internal phase emulsions (HIPEs) with a novel silica precursor named polyethoxysiloxane (PEOS) as sole stabilizer. The stability of the HIPEs and the mechanical strength of the POMs are investigated as functions of PEOS and crosslinker contents in the oil phase. FESEM reveals that PEOS molecules play a significant role of in-situ growth into silica particles to strengthen the POMs, which enables the successful preparation of elastic POMs. Furthermore, oil-water separation behavior of the POMs is studied. Both the absorbent capacity and speed are considerably superior to the previously reported PDMS sponges.

Review A Review of Recent Progress in Efficiency-Power Correlations of Silicon Hetero-Junction Solar Cells

&#x0D; Solar technology is widely used to generate the electricity. It is fundamental p-n junction that supplies the emf whenever sunlight falls on it. A lot of efforts have been incremented by inserting the impurity level in the semiconductor band gap to enhance the efficiency of the solar cells. Copper zinc tin sulphide (Cu2ZnSnS4) devices are the highly stable and efficient part for the most fundamental of many solar cells. Cadmium (Cd) doping is carried out to enhance the efficiency of CZTS. Cadmium sulphide (CdS) consists of band gap that is 2.4 eV. Ternary organic solar cells attract the researchers interest level due to the best absorbing capacity that is much easier to handle but the exclusive difficulty in dealing with its morphology. Thin film solar cells have greater coefficient of absorption because of its high functioning and have band gap value in the range between 1.5 and 1.0 eV. Solar cells consists of chalcopyrite on a polyimide film that demonstrates the largest cell efficiency approximately 18.7%.&#x0D;

Ag@Fe3O4@C nanoparticles for multi-modal imaging-guided chemo-photothermal synergistic targeting for cancer therapy

Novel multifunctional core-shell nanoparticles (NPs) have attracted widespread attention due to their easy-to-modify surface properties and abundant functional groups. This study introduces a facile approach to synthesize Ag@ iron oxide (Fe3O4) @C NPs, and modify with amino-poly (ethylene glycol) (PEG)-carboxyl and folate (FA) on the exposed carbon surface to produce high contrast for excellent stability, good biocompatibility, cancer cell targeting, and synergistic treatment. The multi-armed PEG at the edge of Ag@Fe3O4@C NPs provides the materials an excellent capacity for doxorubicin (DOX) loading. The carbon layer could be used as a photothermal reagent due to its excellent near-infrared (NIR) absorbance capacity, and Fe3O4 was used as a reagent for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. In vivo combination therapy with this agent was administered in a mouse tumor model, and a remarkable synergistic antitumor effect that is superior to that obtained by monotherapy was achieved. Concerning these features together, these unique multifunctional Ag@Fe3O4@C-PEG-FA/DOX NPs could be regarded as an attractive nanoplatforms for chemo-photothermal synergistic tumor therapy with dual-modal fluorescence and MR imaging-guided targeting.

Oil spill clean-up using combined sorbents: a comparative investigation and design aspects

ABSTRACTOil disposal in the marine environment leads to severe harm to marine life. Oil spills clean-up by adsorption is an attractive method due to its simplicity and low cost. Extra credit is added when the adsorption material utilized is an agricultural or an industrial- agricultural waste. In terms of price, environmentally sustainable products and abundance, rice straw is an appealing adsorbent for this purpose. In this research, a new sorbent fabricated by adding rice straw to synthetic hydrophobic sorbent material, namely; RP 18 was studied. The results of the present study indicate that rice straw could, successfully, be used to remove crude oil from oily water. The removal efficiency of rice straw reached 94.7% for effluents with low oil concentrations and the adsorption capacity was 6.67 g oil/g rice straw. A synthetic hydrophobic material (RP 18, produced by OPEC) is also tested for its ability to absorb oil preferentially. Its absorbance capacity was 12 g oil/g sorbent. The experimental results obtained are used to develop a new design for an oil filter for marine pollution fighting. A technique for recycling of the synthetic material and recovery of the oil is illustrated.

Enhancement swelling properties of PVGA hydrogel by alternative radiation crosslinking route

The development of environmentally friendly materials based on non-toxic absorbent polymers, which can ensure high water absorption for several applications in biomedical or agricultural areas, is one of the most complexes problems. In the literature, the non-toxic biodegradable polymer poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) was chemically modified with glyoxylic acid to obtain poly(vinylglyoxylic acid) (PVGA) as a biodegradable superabsorbent hydrogel polymer (SHAP), but in fact, the chemical crosslinking reaction decreases the water absorption capacity. In order to crosslink PVGA without losing its absorbent capacity; an alternative radiation-crosslink route has been studied. Radiation-induced crosslinking in the main C-C chain of PVGA where not all free hydrophilic groups (COOH) are involved in a crosslinking reaction as occurs in a traditional chemical reaction. The aim of this work was not only the chemical modification of 99% hydrolyzed PVA to obtain the linear and non-crosslinked PVGA at certain conditions, but also radiation crosslinking at different doses, at dose rate of 5 kGy h−1 attempting to increase the superabsorbent capacity. The samples were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Thermo-gravimetrical Analysis (TGA), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1H) (NMR) and Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). The swelling behavior was measured gravimetrically in different solvents as pure water, buffer pH 3, 7 and 10. Results showed that radiation-crosslink route improves the swelling behavior of PVGA in approximately 215% when compared with PVGA chemically crosslinked, swelled in pure water.

Exploring menstrual practices and potential acceptability of reusable menstrual underwear among a Middle Eastern population living in a refugee setting.

PurposeMenstruation is a biological process that approximately half of the world’s population experiences over a significant period of their lifetime. As a displaced female, managing menstruation can be challenging as limited resources and changes in context confront the cultural norms of communities. This study explores the hypothetical acceptability and potential utility of a reusable menstrual underwear product through examining the beliefs, behaviors, and practices toward menstrual hygiene in a Middle Eastern population living in a refugee setting.Participants and methodsA qualitative study employing a questionnaire, semi-structured interviews, and focus group discussions was conducted with 30 refugee women and 5 humanitarian staff in Ritsona, Greece. All 30 refugee women completed a questionnaire, six refugee women and five humanitarian staff participated in individual semi-structured interviews, and four focus group discussions were held containing five to six refugee women per group. Inductive analysis led to the development of key themes.ResultsPrimary data analysis of narratives around the beliefs, behaviors, and practices of menstrual hygiene in this population revealed key themes related to the physical environment, the social environment, cleanliness, comfort, and health, and adaptation and coping. Themes related to the potential use of menstrual underwear included comfort, appearance, and concept, absorbent capacity and selected use, hygiene, and knowledge and implementation.ConclusionMenstrual hygiene beliefs, behaviors, and practices are mostly consistent with existing literature. An acceptance of the concept of reusable menstrual underwear was expressed, although the perceived benefits of this product did not outweigh customary practices. The use of menstrual underwear as a complimentary product to traditional absorbents was expressed as helpful for promoting dignity.

Reduction of Underwater Noise Radiated by Ships: Design of Metallic Foams for Diesel Tanks

Porous materials are frequently used for noise reduction in acoustical applications with air. These types of materials lose their absorbing capacity when saturated by liquids. To reduce the underwater noise radiated by ships, metallic foams are specifically designed for acoustical dissipation when saturated by diesel, to use them as a covering in the interior of fuel tanks. The aim is to attract and dissipate noise in the fuel tanks by means of the diesel-foam viscous coupling. For this aim, analytical solutions of the reflection, absorption, and transmission coefficients have been developed. The interior covering of the tank wall with the metallic foam could produce reductions of transmitted sound to the ocean over 10 dB if the metallic foam is properly designed.

Facile preparation and dye removal properties of Fe 3 O 4 @carbon nanocomposite

Fe3O4@carbon nanocomposite (Fe3O4@C) was continuously prepared by combining microreactor with pyrolysis reactor. The Fe3O4 nanoparticles homogeneously disperse in the carbon matrix with an average size of about 9.2 nm and narrow size distribution. The Fe3O4@C nanocomposite has a Brunauer–Emmett–Teller specific surface area of 71.9 m2/g and total pore volume of 0.37 cm3/g. This nanocomposite has a saturation magnetisation value of 16 emu/g and could be easily separated from water by an external magnet. With the increase of pH value or temperature, the Rhodamine B absorbing capacity of the Fe3O4@C nanocomposite first increases and then decreases after a certain value. The absorbing capacity at pH value 9 is about 169 mg/g when the temperature is 20°C. The above said value also exceeds 150 mg/g at pH value 3. The capacity is still higher than 120 mg/g after four regenerations. The absorbing capacity even reaches to 184 mg/g at 60°C of the absorbing temperature.
