Depilation Before, During, or After Scalp Flap Expansion for Facial Reconstruction Using a Long-pulse 800-nm Diode Laser.

Following facial reconstruction with a scalp flap, unwanted hair is a common esthetic problem. Reports on the safety, effectiveness, and differences in laser hair removal before, during, and after tissue expansion are lacking. The authors aimed to assess the efficacy of 800-nm diode laser hair removal before, during, and after flap expansion. A total of 366 patients who underwent long-pulse 800-nm diode laser hair removal from the scalp flap were included in this study. The patients were divided into 3 groups based on the timing of laser hair removal: nonexpansion, expander, and expanded. Participants received 1 to 8 treatment sessions at intervals of 25 to 30 days. To assess the effectiveness and differences in the treatment of each group, 2 independent observers compared the photographs and measured the reduction in the terminal hair count after treatment. The hair reduction rate was significantly higher with fewer treatment sessions when laser hair removal was performed during tissue expansion compared with after surgery or before surgery. Two cases of blisters were reported in the expanded group, all of which healed after aspiration and dressing changes. No severe adverse events were reported. Hair removal during or after scalp flap expansion is safe and effective when using an 800-nm diode laser. The depilation process during tissue expansion should be extremely accurate and well-designed. Depilation of the scalp before surgery is not recommended because of its low efficiency and long treatment duration.

Hybrid integrated thin-film lithium niobate and a silicon carbide microcomb amplifier

We demonstrate a hybrid integrated optical frequency comb amplifier composed of a silicon carbide microcomb and a lithium niobate waveguide amplifier, which generates a 10-dB on-chip gain for the C+L band microcombs under 1480-nm laser pumping and an 8-dB gain under 980-nm laser pumping. It will solve the problem of low output power of microcombs and can be applied in various scenarios such as optical communication, lidar, optical computing, astronomical detection, atomic clocks, and more.

Attosecond recollision dynamics in nonsequential double ionization of argon by orthogonally polarized two-color laser fields

Abstract Electronic correlation, as a fundamental physical effect, is one of the most fascinating research topics in laser-matter interaction. Using the three dimensional classical ensemble model (CEM), we investigate the attosecond recollision dynamics in non-sequential double ionization (NSDI) of argon under orthogonally polarized two-color (OPTC) fields consisting of 800-nm and 400-nm laser pulses. We find that the probability distribution of recollision time and energy asymmetric sharing between two electrons, as well as the Coulomb repulsion of electron pairs all have an impact on the correlated behaviors of two electrons. Meanwhile, the emission directions of electrons pairs can be effectively controlled by manipulating the relative phase of the two-color field. By performing a classical trajectory analysis of two electrons, we reveal that not only the first return but also multiple returns of tunneling electrons can make a significant contribution to the recollision dynamics in NSDI.

Strong multi-mode upconversion luminescence of YbVO4: Er3+ phosphors for multimode optical thermometry

This study explored the multi-mode upconversion luminescence in YbVO4: Er3+ under a 980nm laser. The optimal doping concentration of Er3+ ions in YbVO4: Er3+ is 0.02. The phosphor exhibits green (527nm, 2H11/2→4I15/2 and 553nm, 4S3/2→4I15/2), red (654nm, 4F9/2→4I15/2) and near-infrared emissions (803nm, 4I9/2→4I15/2). A multi-mode temperature sensor of YbVO4: Er3+ was developed, featuring three temperature sensing modes based on the luminescent intensity ratio (LIR) of 2H11/2/4S3/2 thermally coupled level, as well as the LIR of 2H11/2/4F9/2 and 4S3/2/4I9/2 non-thermally coupled levels. Corresponding maximum relative sensitivities were determined to be 1.21% K−1 at 298K, 0.93% K−1 at 298K, and 0.33% K−1 at 473K, respectively. The phosphor demonstrates notable temperature sensitivity, highlighting its potential in optical temperature sensing. This study introduces an innovative platform for crafting multi-mode self-reference optical temperature sensors, presenting substantial advancements in the field.

Histologic Effects of Fractional Lasers and Energy-Based Devices on Intradermally Injected Hyaluronic Acid Filler for Improving Skin Smoothness.

Prior studies have shown that energy-based devices (EBDs) over pre-injected hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers do not significantly affect clinical outcomes. However, the impact of EBDs over newly FDA-approved HA filler for improving skin smoothness is still undetermined. To evaluate the immediate histologic changes after various popular EBDs are performed over pre-injected, newly FDA-approved intradermal HA filler. Abdominoplasty skin was injected with HA superficially. Zone 1 was used as untreated control, while the other zones treated with the 755-nm picosecond laser with diffractive lens array, 1064-nm picosecond and 1064-nm Q-switched lasers, radiofrequency with insulated microneedles, volumetric directional thermal impact ultrasound (VDTI), and thermomechanical fractional injury (TMFI) devices. Histology shows HA in the superficial to mid dermis. Treatment with fractional Q-switched and picosecond lasers showed expected laser-induced optical breakdown in the epidermis and dermis. RF microneedling, VDTI, and TMFI devices caused thermal damage of collagen bundles with dermal dehydration. No immediate morphological changes to HA were noted following device treatment. However, the effect of heat-generating devices on the molecular integrity of HA fillers, which are composed of HA and water, remains uncertain.

Ultrafast upconversion superfluorescence with a sub-2.5 ns lifetime at room temperature

Photon upconversion through lanthanide-doped nanoparticles is of great significance for various applications. However, the current development of upconversion nanoparticles is hindered by the low quantum efficiency and long radiative lifetimes of lanthanide ions, restricting their applications in time-dependent nanophotonics. Herein, we report ultrafast upconversion superfluorescence with a lifetime of sub-2.5 ns in lanthanide-doped nanoparticles at room temperature. Upon excitation with an 800-nm fs-pulsed laser, we achieve a large number (N = 912) of correlated dipoles in Nd3+-concentrated nanoparticles, resulting in collective coherent emission with two orders of magnitude amplification in intensity and more than three orders of magnitude improvement in the radiative decay rate. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the control of excitation power and emitting sample length enables the lifetime manipulation of upconversion emission in a wide range from μs to sub-ns, accompanied by the typical superfluorescence signature of Burnham-Chiao ringing. These findings may benefit applications in many advanced technologies such as quantum counting and high-speed super-resolution bioimaging.

GALADRIEL: A facility for advancing engineering science relevant to rep-rated high energy density physics and inertial fusion energy experiments.

Many current and upcoming laser facilities used to study high-energy-density (HED) physics and inertial fusion energy (IFE) support operating at high rep-rates (HRRs) of ∼0.1-10Hz, yet many diagnostics, target-fielding strategies, and data storage methods cannot support this pace of operation. Therefore, established experimental paradigms must change for the community to progress toward rep-rated operation. To this end, we introduce the General Atomics LAboratory for Developing Rep-rated Instrumentation and Experiments with Lasers, or GALADRIEL, to serve as a test bed for developing and benchmarking the engineering science advancements required for HRR experiments. GALADRIEL was constructed from the ground up around a commercial 1TW (∼25 mJ in ∼25fs at 800nm) laser with diverse experimental applications in mind. Assembly of the basic framework of GALADRIEL concluded with commissioning shots generating ∼1-4MeV electrons via laser-wakefield acceleration (LWFA) using a nitrogen gas jet. Subsequent LWFA experiments operated at 1Hz, utilized instrument feedback for optimization, and stored all data in a custom-built NoSQL database system. From this database called MORIA, or the MOngodb Repository for Information Archiving, data are retrievable via individual files or en masse by query requests defined by the user. GALADRIEL focuses on outstanding questions in engineering science, including targetry, diagnostics, data handling, environmental and materials studies, analysis and machine learning algorithm development, and feedback control systems. GALADRIEL fills a niche presently missing in the US-based user-facility community by providing a flexible experimental platform to address problems in engineering science relevant to rep-rated HED and IFE experiments.

Comprehensive validation of a compact laser speckle contrast imaging system for vascular function assessment: from the laboratory to the clinic.

Proper organ functioning relies on adequate blood circulation; thus, monitoring blood flow is crucial for early disease diagnosis. Laser speckle contrast imaging (LSCI) is a noninvasive technique that is widely used for measuring superficial blood flow. In this study, we developed a portable LSCI system using an 805-nm near-infrared laser and a monochrome CMOS camera with a 10 × macro zoom lens. The system achieved a high-resolution imaging (1280 × 1024 pixels) with a working distance of 10 to 35 cm. The relative flow velocities were visualized via a spatial speckle contrast analysis algorithm with a 5 × 5 sliding window. In vitro experiments demonstrated the system's ability to image flow velocities in a fluid model, and a linear relationship was observed between the actual flow rate and the relative flow rate obtained by the system. The correlation coefficient (R2) exceeded 0.83 for volumetric flow rates of 0 to 0.2 ml/min when channel widths were greater than 1.2 mm, and R2 > 0.94 was obtained for channel widths exceeding 1.6 mm. Comparisons with laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) revealed a strong positive correlation between the LSCI and LDF results. In vivo experiments captured postocclusive reactive hyperemic responses in rat hind limbs and human palms and feet. The main research contribution is the development of this compact and portable LSCI device, as well as the validation of its reliability and convenience in various scenarios and environments. Future applications of this technology include evaluating blood flow changes during skin injuries, such as abrasions, burns, and diabetic foot ulcers, to aid medical institutions in treatment optimization and to reduce treatment duration.

PAD4 Inhibitor-Loaded Layered Double Hydroxide Nanosheets as a Multifunctional Nanoplatform for Photodynamic Therapy-Mediated Tumor Metastasis Treatment.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is demonstrated to be effective in inducing antitumor immune responses for tumor metastasis treatment. However, tumor hypoxia, inferior tissue penetration of light, and low singlet oxygen (1O2) quantum yield significantly hamper the efficacy of PDT, thus weakening its immune function. Moreover, PDT-mediated neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) formation can further reduce the therapeutic effectiveness. Herein, the use of defect-rich CoMo-layered double hydroxide (DR-CoMo-LDH) nanosheets as a carrier to load a typical peptidyl arginine deiminase 4 inhibitor, i.e., YW4-03, to construct a multifunctional nanoagent (403@DR-LDH) for PDT/immunotherapy, is reported. Specifically, 403@DR-LDH inherits excellent 1O2 generation activity under 1550nm laser irradiation and improves the half-life of YW4-03. Meanwhile, 403@DR-LDH plus 1550nm laser irradiation can stimulate immunogenic cell death to promote the maturation of dendric cells and activation/infiltration of T cells and significantly downregulate H3cit protein expression to inhibit NETs formation, synergistically promoting the antitumor metastasis effect. Taken together, 403@DR-LDH can kill cancer cells and inhibit tumor growth/metastasis under 1550nm laser irradiation. Single-cell analysis indicates that 403@DR-LDH can regulate the ratio of immune cells and immune-related proteins to improve the tumor immune microenvironment, showing strong efficacy to inhibit the tumor growth, metastasis, and recurrence.

Symmetrically Fluorinated D-π-A Structured Cyanine Dye for Highly Efficient NIR-II Imaging-Guided Cancer Phototheranostics.

Near-infrared-II (NIR-II) fluorescence imaging-guided photothermal therapy (PTT) represents a cutting-edge approach for precise tumor diagnosis and treatment, providing real-time therapeutic efficacy evaluation. However, a significant challenge lies in the creation of phototheranostic agents that provide robust imaging and efficient photothermal conversion. To address this, a donor-π-acceptor (D-π-A) structure heptamethine cyanine derivative, IR1116, that confers a strong intramolecular charge transfer effect is developed. To enhance its applicability, IR1116 is formulated with DSPE-PEG to create a water-dispersible NIR-II phototheranostic nanoheater, NPIR1116. This nanoheater benefits from the incorporation of an electron-withdrawing group, leading to reduced photooxidation activity and significantly improved photostability. NPIR1116 exhibits strong NIR-II absorption and fluorescence, peaking at 1004 and 1116nm, respectively, as well as a photothermal conversion efficiency of 79% under 1064nm lasers. In vitro and in vivo studies showed the efficacy of NPIR1116 in tumor imaging via NIR-II fluorescence and its ability to effectively induce tumor cell apoptosis under 1064nm laser irradiation. These findings underscore the potential of NPIR1116 in NIR-II fluorescence imaging-guided PTT for tumor treatment, paving the way for further advancements in NIR-II dye development and bioimaging technologies.

Effect of laser irradiation during in-office tooth bleaching on surface properties of resin-based restorative materials.

This study evaluated the changes in surface properties of three resin-based restorative materials after two laser-assisted, in-office tooth bleaching protocols using erbium, chromium: yttrium-scandium-gallium-garnet (Er,Cr:YSGG) or diode (980nm) lasers. A nanohybrid composite (Enamel Plus HRi), a Bis-GMA-free composite (Enamel Plus HRi Bio Function), and a resin-matrix CAD-CAM ceramic (Shofu Block HC) were tested. Forty specimens for each material were prepared and divided into four groups (n=10/group). The control specimens did not undergo any bleaching treatment, whereas group 2 received bleaching with 40% hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), while groups 3 and 4 underwent the same bleaching procedure with the use of diode (980nm) or Er,Cr:YSGG lasers, respectively. Surface microhardness and roughness measurements were conducted using a Vickers tester and an optical profilometer. Microhardness was lower in bleached specimens, with the nanohybrid composite exhibiting the largest difference from the no bleaching group. For the Bis-GMA-free composite the microhardness difference between no bleaching and laser-assisted bleaching were smaller than seen for the conventional bleaching technique. Surface roughness was higher in bleached specimens, with nanohybrid composite showing the largest differences from the control specimens. The examined laser-assisted tooth bleaching protocols were found not to impact surface microhardness and roughness of the tested resin-based specimens and they are deemed suitable for clinical use.

The effect of a diode-pumped solid-state laser with a wavelength of 589 nm on T-lymphocyte proliferation.

To assess how low-level laser irradiation affects T cells. The case-control interventional study was conducted from November 2021 to April 2022 after approval by the ethics review committee of the College of Medicine, Mustansiriyah University, Baghdad, Iraq, and comprised healthy individuals. Phlebotomy was used to collect 4ml of blood. A portion of each sample was exposed to 589nm laser radiation, while the other portion was used as a control. The irradiated sample was divided into whole blood and in-plate subgroups. Phytohemagglutinin was used for mitotic stimulation of T-lymphocytes, and cell proliferation assay was used to stimulate T lymphocytes measured using MTS assay (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5- (3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium). Optical density was measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Data was analysed using GraphPad prism software. There were 35 subjects, 17(49%) males and 18 (51%) females, with an age range between 19-25 years, all without any disease or medication. Laser irradiation stimulated T-lymphocyte proliferation to levels that depended on the dose of laser used. At energy 30J/cm2 there was a significant increase in the in-plate subgroup of irradiated samples compared to controls and between the two irradiated subgroups (p<0.05). At 50J/cm2 dose, there was a significant increase in the whole blood subgroup compared to the controls (p<0.05). At 70J/cm2 dose, there was a significant difference in the whole blood subgroup compared to the controls, and between the two irradiated subgroups (p<0.05). The stimulation of T lymphocyte proliferation by the application of a 589nm laser could have medical applications in the field of immune system enhancement.

The effect of a low-level yellow laser on improving the stability of stored whole blood.

To explore if low-level laser 589nm may stabilise stored whole blood and red blood cell suspension in vitro. The interventional study was conducted from November 2021 to April 2022 at the Postgraduate Medical Physics Laboratory, Mustansiriyah University, Baghdad, Iraq, and comprised blood samples from healthy adults. The samples were obtained put in tubes containing anticoagulant citrate-phosphate dextrose-adenine. Each sample was divided into eight equal aliquots and stored for 21 days at 4ºC. Of the 8 aliquots, 4 were takebn as controls, while the other 4 were irradiated by 589nm laser beam with a radiation dose of 50J/cm² for 15min. Stability test measured by the percentage of haemolysis of an overnight stored red blood cell in saline solution was done on days 0, 7, 14 and 21 for non-irradiated and radiated aliquots. Data was analysed using SPSS 24. Eight subjects (4 males and 4 females) were included, with mean age 21±3 years (range: 19-24 years). Whole blood samples showed a significant reduction in haemolysis by 40%, 20% and 42% compared to the control samples at days 0, 7 and 14, respectively (p<0.05). Red blood cell suspension showed a significant reduction in haemolysis by 9% compared to the control samples only at day 21 (p<0.05). Low-level laser 589nm beam at 50J/cm² radiation dose was more effective on the stability of stored whole blood than the red blood cell suspension.

Ultrathin BSA-Stabilized Black Phosphorous Nanoreactor Boosts Mild-Temperature Photothermal Therapy Through Modulation of Cellular Self-Defense Fate.

Mild-temperature photothermal therapy (mild-PTT, 42-45°C) offers a higher level of biosafety. However, its therapeutic effects are compromised by the heat shock response (HSR), a cellular self-defense mechanism, which triggers the overexpression of heat shock proteins (HSPs) with the capacity of repairing the damaged tumor cells. Herein, this work fabricates a novel nanoreactor by incorporating up-conversion nanoparticles (UCNPs), chlorin e6 (Ce6), and glucose oxidase (GOx) onto the ultrathin black phosphorus nanosheet (BPNS) (denoted as GOx-BUC). This nanoreactor amplifies mild-PTT effects under irradiation with an 808nm laser, modulating HSPs-mediated cellular self-defense fate. On one hand, upon irradiation with a 980nm laser, UCNPs can transfer energy to excite Ce6, leading to the generation of ROS burst, which achieves indiscriminate damage to HSPs activity in deeper tumor tissues. On the other hand, GOx can consume glucose, thereby depleting the ATP energy supply and further suppressing HSPs expression. Consequently, GOx-BUC exhibits excellent anti-tumor efficacy under mild temperature in a human colorectal cancer mouse model, resulting in complete tumor inhibition with negligible side effects. This black phosphorous nanoreactor, featuring dual-track HSPs destruction functionality, introduces novel perspectives for enhancing mild-PTT effectiveness while maintaining high biosafety.

Focal point technology: Controlling treatment depth and pattern of skin injury by a novel highly focused laser

Selective photothermolysis has limitations in efficacy and safety for dermal targets. We describe a novel concept using scanned focused laser microbeams for precise control of dermal depth and pattern of injury, using a 1550nm laser that generates an array of conical thermal zones while minimizing injury to the epidermis. To characterize the conical thermal zones invivo and determine safe starting parameters to transition to a second phase to explore potential clinical indications. A focused toroidal (ring) laser beam was delivered through a cold sapphire window, sparing epidermal injury in a central zone. Pulse energy, lesion depth, density, and energy delivery were titrated in exvivo human skin and subsequently on the backs of 21 human subjects. Histology showed microscale patterns of thermal injury, which varied predictably with laser parameters. Time-course healing through histology and skin surface imaging demonstrated the ability of the device to deliver high energies without sequelae. Clinical data are currently being collected to further explore the safety and efficacy of the device. The 1550nm laser with focal point technology enables precise control of lesion depth while simultaneously sparing a large portion of the epidermis, lowering the risk of adverse effects.

The Effect of Cold Plasma and Low-Level Laser Therapy on Oral Fibroblast Proliferation

Background: Wound healing is a complex physiological process involving multiple phases and cellular mechanisms that restore damaged tissue. The oral cavity presents unique challenges for wound healing due to the presence of microorganisms and the impact of various diseases and treatments. Recent advancements, including low-level laser therapy (LLLT) and cold plasma, offer promising approaches to enhance wound healing by promoting cell proliferation and reducing inflammation. This study aimed to investigate the effects of cold plasma and low-level 980nm laser on the growth of oral fibroblasts and compare their respective impacts on wound healing. Methods: Human gingival fibroblasts were divided into nine study groups, including a control group. Two groups were exposed to low-level 980nm diode laser irradiation for 15 and 30 seconds, while six groups received cold plasma irradiation with helium gas at flow rates of 1.85, 2.78 and 5.56 cm3/s for the same durations. Fibroblast proliferation was evaluated on days 1, 3, and 5 after treatment using the MTT assay. Results: The results showed that on the 5th day after irradiation, 30 seconds of 980 nm laser irradiation significantly increased fibroblast proliferation compared to the other groups. In contrast, 15 seconds of plasma irradiation at a flow rate of 1.85 cm3/s had the least effect on promoting fibroblast proliferation. On the 1st day after radiation, plasma irradiation at flow rates of 2.78 and 5.56 cm3/s exhibited a greater impact on fibroblast proliferation compared to the other five test groups. Conclusion: The 980nm diode laser demonstrated a greater capacity to enhance the proliferation of oral fibroblasts compared to cold plasma using helium gas.

The Comparison of 940nm and 810nm Diode Laser Effects on the Repair of Inferior Alveolar Sensory Nerve Injury: A Clinical Trial.

Healing of the inferior alveolar nerve injury during dental procedures is one of the biggest concerns of dentists. There are still debates on different treatment modalities. This study aimed to compare the effect of 940nm and 810nm diode lasers on the repair of the inferior alveolar sensory nerve. In this single-blinded randomized clinical trial, 39 patients with inferior alveolar nerve injury were divided into three groups: 1. 810nm laser irradiated, 2. 940nm laser irradiated, and 3. No laser irradiation (control group). All patients were treated in 12 sessions (3 days per week) and evaluated using a complete clinical neurosensory test (CNT), including brushstroke, 2-point discrimination, pinprick nociception, and thermal discrimination before and after treatment. The mean dysesthesia of the patient treated with 810nm diode laser was significantly lower than the control group in all sessions (the 1st (p= 0.003), 3rd (p= 0.008), 7th (p= 0.006), and 12th sessions (p= 0.005)). The 810nm laser resulted in more satisfaction in patients than the control group in almost all sessions (1st (p< 0.001), 7th (p= 0.028), and 12th (p= 0.006)). More patient satisfaction was seen in the 1st and 3rd sessions in the 810nm laser than in the 980nm laser (p< 0.001 and p= 0.003, respectively). 810nm diode laser can be better than 940nm in repairing inferior alveolar sensory nerve damage.

Photoluminescence Confocal Mapping of a Novel Nd3+/Yb3+: Zn2SiO4 Composite thin film on Si (100) Substrate Utilizing a 980nm Pumping Source.

A fixed Nd3+ and varied Yb3+ ion concentration were incorporated in a Zinc-Silicate (SZNYX) composite solution using ex-situ sol-gel solution to fabricate a novel thin film (TF) on Si (100)-substrate. The upconversion luminescence (UCL) spectra of the thin films were measured under 980nm laser excitation, with the most optimized result for Yb3+ ion concentration of 1.5mol%. Additionally, a 2-D photoluminescence (PL) confocal mapping of the SZNY15-TF material confirmed uniform PL distribution throughout the space under the same excitation wavelength. Structural characterization via XRD revealed the tetragonal Zn2SiO4 nano-crystalline nature of the film at three distinct annealing temperatures. Morphological characterization using the Field-emission scanning electron Microscope (FESEM) coupled with energy dispersion spectrometer (EDS) affirmed the nanoflower structure and the purity of doping purity in the samples, respectively. These findings collectively confirm the promising UCL properties of the SZNYX-TF samples, suggesting potential applications in photonic.

Enhancement of upconversion luminescence and temperature sensing performance in Er3+/Yb3+ doped Lu2O3 and Lu2O2S phosphors by incorporation of lithium ions

A series of spherical Er3+/Yb3+ doped Lu2O3 and Lu2O2S phosphors co-doping with varying concentrations of Li+ (0, 1, 3, 5, and 7 mol%) were synthesized by homogeneous precipitation method followed by direct calcination or sulfurization. The crystal structure and morphology of the as-prepared phosphors were characterized by XRD, FTIR and SEM. Meanwhile, the upconversion (UC) luminescence spectra were recorded under 980 nm laser excitation at temperatures ranging from 303 to 573 K. The incorporation of lithium ions led to an enhancement of UC luminescence intensity by about 15 times at room temperature. The introduction of Li+ could also affect the temperature sensitivity of the samples. Furthermore, optical temperature sensing of the phosphors was achieved by analyzing the fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) of thermally coupled levels (TCLs) and nonthermally coupled levels (non-TCLs). Impressively, utilizing the non-TCLs approach resulted in maximum Sa values of 8.80 %K−1 and 11.06 %K−1 for the Er3+/Yb3+/5 % Li+ doped Lu2O3 and Lu2O2S phosphors, leading to an approximately 17-fold and 23-fold increase compared to that of TCLs-based approach, respectively. The results of this work demonstrate the great potential of Er3+/Yb3+/Li+ doped Lu2O3 and Lu2O2S phosphors for optical thermometers.
