PREVALENCE OF TOOTH DECAY AND OHI-S VALUES IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN AFTER THE ERUPTION OF SEMERU IN SUMBERMUJUR VILLAGE, LUMAJANG

Mount Semeru in Lumajang-East Java erupted on Saturday 4 December 2021 at 15.15 WIB and affected 12 villages. One of the impacts caused by the eruption of Mount Semeru is the decline in the quality of life of the population seen from the health problems that arise, both general health and dental and oral health. The purpose of community service is to determine the prevalence of tooth decay and OHI-S score in elementary school children after the eruption of Semeru in Sumbermujur Village, Lumajang. Based on the results of dental and oral screening conducted on elementary school children who were affected by the disaster, it was found that the OHI-S score was in the good criteria (0.8-1.06), but the DMF-T score was in the low criteria (1.52-2.5). to moderate (3.7), and the dmf-t score is included in the criteria of moderate (3.0-3.89) to high (4.8-4.87). The cause of the high incidence of dental caries in elementary school students is the lack of knowledge of elementary school students about oral health, which can be concluded from the wrong behavior or way of brushing their teeth and the right knowledge about when to brush their teeth. Efforts that can be made to improve this behavior are education which is included in promotive and preventive efforts

WEBINAR-BASED DENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION AT SD INSAN AMANAH

Background: In 2014-2018, the prevalence of dental caries occurrence in Indonesia was reportedly high. No less than 63% of Indonesian people, especially children, had suffered from the mouth and dental diseases; one of which was dental caries. Oral health is very important for the body, if oral hygiene is not maintained properly, it will cause various diseases in the oral cavity, such as periodontal disease and dental caries. Therefore, education is needed on dental health and mouth in order to avoid dental and mouth disease, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Promotive efforts can be done through daily oral health maintenance to support maximum health status during pandemic. One way to provide education is by using an online approach. The method of this study are providing education by webinar and assessing tests on dental and oral health knowledge in SD Insan Amanah Kota Malang. Aims: The purpose of this study was to see the effectiveness of online dental health education counseling on knowledge during the Covid-19 pandemic at elementary school. Methods: This research constitutes Quasy experimental. Samples were taken by purposive sampling, namely SD Insan Amanah class 3-6, with using the Wilcoxon test. Main Results: This study shows that dental health education counseling with a webinar method of effective knowledge with a sig p value of 0.056 (>0.05) which means there no change. There was not a statistical change, the data used a 95% confidence interval. Conclusion: The dental health education method for elementary school children with a webinar method isn’t significantly effective to improve knowledge about dental health.

CAPACITY BUILDING OF HEALTH CADRES IN PREVENTING STUNTING IN DISASTER-PRONE AREAS (CASE IN SIDOMULYO VILLAGE, LUMAJANG REGENCY)

Stunting is a child development disorder characterized by a lack of optimal height due to malnutrition or recurrent infections. Stunting can have short and long-term impacts, including the disturbance of health problems, intelligence, risk of chronic disease, and decreased productivity. The purpose of the project: 1) Explore the problem of stunting, its causes and efforts to improve it in the activity area; 2) Increase the knowledge and skills of cadres related to early detection and management of stunting by cadres, maternal and child health, the practice of making MP-ASI B2SA, 3) Improve the completeness of POSYANDU’s equipment, and 4) Increase motivation, self-confidence, and cooperation of cadres. This activity involved 38 cadres from 7 POSYANDU and one regional midwife. The results of the FGD found cadres' understanding of stunting, 8 factors that cause it, and 5 efforts to prevent and overcome it. The results of the cadre training showed a significant increase in cadre knowledge scores of stunting prevention. The result of the practice of making MP-ASI B2SA is the cadres can make menus with attractive appearance and good taste. Fulfilment of Posyandu completeness, motivation, self-confidence, and cadre cooperation has been carried out, hope that in the future they can carry out their duties better. It can be concluded that the role of POSYANDU cadres plays an important role in preventing stunting in Sidomulyo Village, Pronojiwo Subdistrict, Lumajang Regency.

SCHOOL HEALTH PROGRAMME FOR STUDENTS, TEACHERS, AND PARENTS IN ELEMENTARY TO IMPROVE ORAL HEALTH KNOWLEDGE IN MALANG

Dental and oral health has an important role in supporting the health of the human body. Diseases and disorders of the teeth in school-age children between 7-15 years are disturbances in growth and development. However, many factors still influence the occurrence of dental and oral problems. One of them is the lack of attention and knowledge. At the age of children, parents and teachers have an important role in guiding, providing understanding, reminding and providing facilities to maintain healthy teeth and mouth. Therefore, all three of them need to know to underlie the formation of behaviors that support children adopting a healthy lifestyle. Based on these conditions, we conducted community service to increase this knowledge through the School Health Program, which was implemented in 7 elementary schools in Malang City. In this activity, education was carried out for students, parents and teachers with a total of 325 participants. The results of this program show an increase in knowledge by students, teachers and parents. The knowledge conveyed included basic dental care recommendations such as brushing teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, managing good eating habits, staying away from bad habits that damage teeth and preventing dental caries as early as possible. After completing this activity, participants can adopt a healthy lifestyle to prevent problems with their teeth and mouth

PREVENTION OF EARLY STUNTING THROUGH ADOLESCENT HEALTH COUNSELING FOR STUDENTS AT MULIA HUSADA HEALTH VOCATIONAL SCHOOL

The incidence of malnutrition in toddlers is due to lack of attention to nutritional status and management. Nutritional status has a very big influence in realizing quality human resources in the future. Malnutrition is a big problem in Indonesia, although the Government of Indonesia has made efforts to overcome it. The problem of nutritional status in toddlers is still a homework and challenges where what happens is cases of stunting, malnutrition and others, each region is also working together to alleviate this problem which is influenced by many factors, such as economic, socio-cultural, educational, and other factors. In the environment, from the several factors above, it can be seen that there are many possible causes, one of which is the lack of intake of nutritious food and additional food during adolescence, pregnant women, and up to toddlers.To reduce the risk of stunting, of course, the latest and modern breakthroughs are needed, one of which is to provide knowledge and counseling from an early age related to stunting and nutritious food to prevent stunting and malnutrition in toddlers that lead to stunting. The purpose of this PKM is to minimize the occurrence of stunting at an early stage. The activity plan in this PKM is counseling and health checks for students at the Mulia Husada Health Vocational School Sumenep. The outputs to be achieved in this service are publication of service journals, and online mass media publications.

TRAINING ON CONTRACEPTIVE SELECTION BASED ON FAMILY PLANNING ACCEPTORS’ CLINICAL CONDITIONS

A population growth rate of 1.22% has become a national problem and makes Indonesia one of the most densely populated countries in the world. Meanwhile, the population growth rate in Malang city, which has been successfully decreasing, needs to be sustained. This community service aimed to help maintain this achievement by providing training on contraception in the pharmaceutical care aspect, especially in clinical pharmacy. It is because if the contraceptive preparation chosen is birth control pills, the choice of hormonal contraception needs to be adjusted to the family planning acceptor’s clinical condition and emphasizing the importance of medication adherence is required. The problem-solving method used in this community service activity was Participatory Action Research (PAR). Techniques for delivering material were done through presentation, training, and practices using visual aids. The activity was located at the meeting hall of RW 08, Bunulrejo Village, Blimbing District, Malang City and was carried out for two months with the highlight of the event in March 2022. Three types of questionnaire instruments used were personal data and data related to the history of contraceptive methods used, knowledge instrument, and activity evaluation instrument. The knowledge instrument has been declared valid and reliable through the results of the Pearson and Cronbach’s Alpha correlation tests. The results of this community service activity showed that 43.48% of the participants experienced class 1 obesity, and 9% suffered from comorbid hypertension. The pre-test and post-test results related to knowledge showed an increase of 32.46 points. Besides, the evaluation questionnaire of the three aspects of the assessment, including process, benefits, and training presenters, showed an average score of ≥ 3.50. In short, class 1 obesity and hypertension comorbidity are the conditions to consider when choosing hormonal contraceptive preparations for the community, although the prevalence was relatively small. Participant knowledge related to contraception increased after the training. From the evaluation questionnaire results, the participants considered that the series of training activities went very well.

REDUCING LUPUS PATIENTS' HOPELESSNESS THROUGH BEAUTY CLASS IN MALANG CITY IN HONOR OF WORLD LUPUS DAY

Lupus is a systemic autoimmune rheumatic disease with mild to severe clinical features and can lead to hopelessness if not treated properly. The purpose of this activity is to give a beauty class and see how it affects the hopelessness of lupus patients in honor of World Lupus Day. Methods: Organizing World Lupus Day activities such as experts seminars on lupus at a glance, being friendly with lupus, and staying beautiful with lupus; a musical drama and dance performance by a lupus support group with the theme “You Are Beautiful”; and a lupus beauty class. The activity was completed in one day in May 2018 by collecting pre-test and post-test data on the incidence of hopelessness in lupus patients using the Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS). A total of 100 lupus patients participated in the activity, and all of them underwent pre- and post-testing. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with α=0.05 was used to analyze the collected data. Results: All participants expressed delight and satisfaction with their participation in this activity. The mean BHS scores before and after the beauty class were 8.62+2.68 and 6.36+1.59, respectively, with a significant difference (p=0.000). Conclusion: Beauty class is a fun way for lupus patients to feel less hopeless about their illness. Every year, an activity to commemorate World Lupus Day is required, which is beneficial for lupus patients.

MANAGERIAL STRENGTHENING OF KEMBAR JAYA SEAFOOD TOWARDS AN INDEPENDENT PROCESSING AND MARKETING GROUP (KELOMPOK PENGOLAH DAN PEMASAR/POKLAHSAR)

The most prominent potential in the Bajulmati area is the potential for capture fisheries. Even so, the Bajulmati area also has the potential for processed fishery products, but the potential for these processed products does not yet have optimal marketing. This is due to the lack of marketing and business management systems that are owned. The purpose of this service activity includes: (1) Integrating the performance of Higher Education (Universitas Brawijaya), with processing and marketing group (kelompok pengolah dan pemasar/POKLAHSAR) Kembar Jaya Seafood in Bajul Mati, Malang Regency to improve business sustainability POKLAHSAR Kembar Jaya Seafood, (2) Creating business sustainability through business management training, (3) Increasing hard skills in managing financial flows through financial management training, (4) Increasing the competitiveness of POKLAHSAR Kembar Jaya Seafood products through product branding, (5) Increasing standardization of fish processing products at POKLAHSAR Kembar Jaya Seafood, Malang Regency both in terms of hygiene, halal, and packaging, (6) Creating a marketing and sales system so that fish processing businesses at POKLAHSAR Kembar Jaya Seafood are able to carry out marketing and sales effectively , (7) increasing the role of Brawij University I am in developing the area around the campus by involving students. This community service activity is carried out using managerial assistance methods including business management training, financial management, product branding socialization, product standardization assistance, initiation of effective marketing and sales systems for souvenir needs. This service program is able to make POKLAHSAR Kembar Jaya Seafood a sustainable business. Sustainability in question is not only productivity sustainability but also sustainability as a center for processed fishery products. The five programs proposed as solutions ranging from business management training, financial management, product branding training, product standardization assistance and the creation of an effective marketing and sales system went well accompanied by enthusiasm from POKLAHSAR Kembar Jaya Seafood.

INCREASING CLINICAL PRECEPTOR COMPETENCE THROUGH PRECEPTORSHIP METHOD TRAINING IN BANGIL HOSPITAL, PASURUAN REGENCY

The Preceptorship method facilitates students to develop their cognitive, affective, and psychomotor abilities. Through Preceptorship, clinical instructors/preceptors become role models as tutors, leaders, supervisors, and mentors for students. Furthermore, nursing staff who meet the qualifications of a preceptor need Preceptorship training. The Pasuruan District Hospital is one of the network hospitals where nursing students practice the nursing profession, and there are only a few preceptors have attended Preceptorship training. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct Preceptorship training for preceptors. This activity aims to achieve preceptor competence with the Preceptorship method. The respondents were health care staff from Bangil Hospital, such as nurses, midwives, nutritionists, radiographers, medical recorders clerks, and physical therapists. The activity included training for three days from 19-21 November 2019 by providing material, demonstrating, and simulating the Preceptorship method in several rooms at Bangil Hospital. The data collection to measure the level of knowledge used pre-test and post-test questionnaires, while for skills using observation in the implementation of simulations directly to students in the hospital room. Forty-seven respondents participating in this training were male (32%) and female (68%). The results of the level of knowledge were pre-test mean 47.74 and post-test 88.85 with p-value paired t-test results 0.001. Observation results show that the preceptor can practice the Preceptorship method well with students. In conclusion, this training activity increases the knowledge and skills of Preceptorship clinical education methods for preceptors.
