EFEKTIVITAS KOMBINASI MICROWAVE DIATHERMY, STRENGTHENING DENGAN PENAMBAHAN FUNCTIONAL EXERCISE TERHADAP PERBAIKAN FUNGSIONAL KNEE PADA PENDERITA OSTEOARTHRITIS KNEE DI RSU. DR. TADJUDDIN CHALID MAKASSAR

Background: Osteoarthritis of the knee is a degenerative disease associated with joint cartilage damage. In general, people with osteoarthritis of the knee experience pain when supporting their weight, especially when walking and going up and down stairs.Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental study with a randomized pre test-post test control group design, aiming to determine the difference in effectiveness between the combination of Microwave Diathermy (MWD), Strengthening Exercise, Functional Exercise and the combination of Microwave Diathermy (MWD), Strengthening Exercise for functional improvement of the knee in patients with knee osteoarthritis, carried out at the RSU Physiotherapy Poly. Dr. Tadjuddin Chalid Makassar with a sample of 16 patients who fit the inclusion criteria, were randomly divided into 2 groups: the treatment group was given MWD, Strengthening and Functional exercise and the control group was given MWD and Strengthening.Results: Based on the analysis of the paired sample t test, the value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05) was obtained in the treatment and control groups, which means that the combination of MWD, Strengthening, Functional Exercise and the combination of MWD, Strengthening Exercise can provide significant functional improvement of the knee in knee osteoarthritis sufferers. The results of the independent sample t test obtained a value of p = 0.008 which means that there was a significant difference between the two sample groups in functional improvement of the knee.Conclusion: It can be concluded that the combination of Microwave Diathermy, Strengthening and Functional Exercise is more effective than Microwave Diathermy and Strengthening Exercise in improving functional knee in patients with knee osteoarthritis.Keywords: Microwave Diathermy, Strengthening Exercise, Functional Exercise, Knee Functional, Knee Osteoarthritis

BEDA PENGARUH PEMBERIAN LATIHAN KNEE TUCK JUMP DENGAN SKIPPING TERHADAP PERUBAHAN DAYA LEDAK OTOT TUNGKAI PEMAIN BOLA BASKET DI CLUB FURRY BALL MAKASSAR

Background: Explosive power or power is a combination of two biomotoric elements, namely speed and strength combined to produce power. To increase power, the training provided must pay attention to the elements of speed and strength in order to get maximum results.Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental study using a two-group pre test and post test design, aiming to determine the difference in the effect of knee tuck jump training and skipping on changes in leg muscle explosive power of basketball players at furry ball clubs Makassar. This research was conducted at the Makassar furry ball club with a sample of 12 people who fit the inclusion criteria, divided randomly into 2 groups, namely the treatment group 1 which was given knee tuck jump training and the treatment group 2 which was given skipping practice. The measuring tool used is the vertical jump test.Results: Based on the Wilcoxon test analysis in treatment group 1 and treatment group 2, a value of (.028) was obtained (.028) p <0.05, which means that there was a significant effect in treatment group 1 and treatment group 2 on increasing the explosive power of the limb muscles of basketball players in the club Makassar furry ball. The results of the Mann-Whitney test obtained a value of (.179) p> 0.05 which means that there was no significant difference between the two sample groups, but seen from the mean value it showed that the knee tuck jump exercise resulted in an increase in muscle explosive power that was greater than skipping exercise.Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is no significant difference in effect between giving knee tuck jump training and skipping to changes in leg muscle explosive power in basketball players at the Makassar furry ball club. BEDA PENGARUH PEMBERIAN TRANSLASI OSILASI DAN THERABAND EXERCISE ATAU HOLD RELAX TERHADAP PENURUNAN NYERI DAN PENINGKATAN RANGE OF MOTION PADA PENDERITA OSTEOARHRITIS KNEE DI RUMAH SAKIT ISLAM FAISAL MAKASSAR

Background: Osteoarthritis of the knee is a degenerative joint disease that causes cartilage damage in the knee joint which is characterized by loss and erosion of the knee joint cartilage and the growth of osteophytes on the edges of the knee joint, causing stiffness, pain and impaired movement.Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test post-test design with two groups aiming to determine the difference in the effect of translation oscillations and theraband exercise with translation oscillations and hold relax on pain reduction and ROM improvement in patients with knee osteoarthritis. This research was conducted at the Faisal Islamic Hospital in Makassar, with a sample of knee osteoarthritis patients who fit the inclusion criteria. The number of samples was 14 people who were randomly divided into 2 groups, namely 1 group that was given translation oscillation and theraband exercise as many as 7 people and group 2 that was given translation oscillation and hold relax as many as 7 people. Measuring instruments used are VAS and Goniometer.Results: Analysis of the paired sample t test in the treatment and control groups obtained a value of p = 0.000 <0.05 for the actuality of pain and ROM, which means that there was a significant effect in the treatment and control groups on reducing pain and increasing ROM. The results of the independent sample t test for actuality of pain obtained a value of p = 0.053 > 0.05 and for ROM obtained a value of p = 0.365 > 0.05 which means that there was no significant difference between the two sample groups.Conclusion: It can be concluded that the administration of translational oscillations and theraband exercise has no more effect than translational oscillations and hold relax on reducing pain and increasing ROM in patients with knee osteoarthritis.Keywords: Translational Oscillation, Theraband Exercise, Hold Relax, Knee Osteoarthritis

Background: Preschool age is a golden age for the child's development process where at that age the cognitive, physical, motor and psychosocial aspects of a child develop optimally, but a lack of stimulation in the form of physical activity and media can cause children's fine motor skills to fail. perfectly developed.Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre test – post test with control group design, aiming to determine the difference in effectiveness between the combination of brain gymnastics and groove board maze educational games, brain gymnastics alone, and placebo (without intervention) on improving fine motor skills in Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Kindergarten, Malimongan Tua branch, Makassar city, carried out at Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Kindergarten, Malimongan Tua Branch, Makassar City, with a sample of 30 children who experienced delays in fine motor development according to inclusion criteria, divided according to randomized into 3 groups: the treatment group was given brain gymnastics and educational maze board game tools, the control group was given brain exercises, and the placebo group (without intervention).Results: Based on the Wilcoxon test analysis, p <0.05 was obtained in 3 sample groups, which means that the three sample groups produced a significant increase in fine motor skills. Based on the results of the One Away Anova test, a p value <0.05 was obtained, which means that there was a significant difference between the combination of brain gymnastics and the groove board maze educational game tool, brain exercise alone, and without intervention on improving fine motor skills in kindergarten children.Conclusion: the combination of brain gymnastics and the groove board maze educational game tool is most effective than brain gymnastics alone and without intervention in improving fine motor skills in Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Ranting Malimongan Tua Kindergarten children.Keywords: Brain gym, educational game tool maze groove board, fine motor skills, preschool age children

PENGARUH PEMBERIAN TENS DAN McKENZIE EXERCISE TERHADAP PENINGKATAN FUNGSIONAL LUMBAL PADA PENDERITA ISCHIALGIA AKIBAT HNP LUMBAL DI RSUD PANGKAJENE DAN KEPULAUAN

Background: Ischialgia is pain that is felt along the sciatic nerve and continues along the leg. Ischialgia can be caused by a herniated nucleus pulposus which causes radicular pain due to disc pressure on the nerve roots exiting the intervertebral foramen. Ischialgia can cause functional lumbar barriers in carrying out daily activities, especially sitting for a long time, walking long distances and standing for a long time.Methods: This study was a pre-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest design, aiming to determine the effect of TENS and McKenzie Exercise on improving lumbar function in patients with ischialgia due to lumbar HNP. This research was conducted at Pangkajene and Kepulauan Hospital, with the sample being ischialgia sufferers due to lumbar HNP who fit the inclusion criteria. The number of samples was 28 people who were given treatment in the form of TENS and McKenzie Exercise 12 times. Lumbar functional measurement using the Oswestry disability index.Results: Based on the descriptive test in this study, the mean lumbar functional value before treatment was 44.839 to 29.336 with a difference of 15.504 after treatment. The statistical results using the Wilcoxon test show that p = 0.000 is less than α = 0.05 (p < α) which means that the working hypothesis is accepted.Conclusion: TENS and McKenzie Exercise have a significant effect on improving lumbar function in patients with sciatica due to lumbar HNP.Keywords: Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation, McKenzie Exercise, Lumbar Functional, Lumbar HNP

PENGARUH MOTOR RELEARNING PROGRAMME TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERJALAN PASIEN HEMIPARESE POST STROKE DI RSUD SALEWANGANG MAROS

Background: Stroke is a world health problem with an annual incidence of 0.2 – 2.5 per 1000 population. Hemiparese is a motor control disorder that appears after a stroke. These motor disturbances are associated with reduced walking speed with changes in walking time and distance traveled. Patients with hemiparesis tend to take short, uneven steps and spend a longer time standing on the side of the body that is not experiencing weakness.Methods: This research is a type of pre-experimental research with a pre test-post test one group design, aiming to determine the effect of the Motor Relearning Program on the walking ability of hemiparese post stroke patients at Salewangang Maros Hospital, with a sample of 14 people who received motorbike treatment Relearning Program and using the Time Up and Go (TUG) Test.Results: Based on the results of the Wilcoxon test analysis, namely p value = 0.000 at a distance of 2 meters (p <0.05), p value = 0.001 at a distance of 8 meters (p <0.05) and value of p = 0.001 at a distance of 10 meters (p <0.05), indicating that the administration of the Motor Relearning Program had an effect on increasing the ability to walk in hemipraese post stroke patients.Conclusion: The administration of the Motor Relearning Program intervention has an effect on increasing the walking ability of hemipraese post stroke patients. PENGARUH MOBILISASI CHEST TERHADAP PENINGKATAN EKSPANSI THORAKS PADA PENYAKIT PARU OBSTRUKTIF KRONIS DI BALAI BESAR KESEHATAN PARU MASYARAKAT MAKASSAR

Background: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a chronic disease characterized by productive cough, dyspnea and airway obstruction even though this disease is chronic and is a combination of emphysema, chronic bronchitis and asthma, but in certain circumstances worsening of respiratory function occurs . In some circumstances, the worsening of COPD can lead to respiratory failure.Methods: This research is a pre-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest research design using a purposive sampling technique, which aims to determine an increase in thoracic expansion in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, with a population of 16 people, a total sample of 15 people is obtained based on the sample size formula and meeting the inclusion criteria, each sample was given chest mobilization treatment.Results: The results showed that the average value of thoracic expansion before treatment was at the axilla point = 0.53, costa point 4-5 = 2.33 and point proc. xyphoideus = 4.47 using a measuring instrument, namely a measuring tape. Statistical results using the Wilcoxon test show that the p value for thoracic expansion at each point is p = 0.000 which is less than α = 0.05 (p<α) which means the working hypothesis is accepted.Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is by giving chest mobilization for 8 treatments can produce a significant effect on changes in thoracic expansion in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, in other words giving chest mobilization is more effective in increasing thoracic expansion in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. EFEKTIVITAS LATIHAN LARI ZIG-ZAG DENGAN SHUTTLE RUN TERHADAP KELINCAHAN PADA PEMAIN SEPAKBOLA DI SMAN KEBERBAKATAN OLAHRAGA MAKASSAR

Background : Agility is defined as a fast movement of the whole body with a change of speed or direction in response to a stimulus. It is an important motor skill in sports that involve multi-directional changes.Methods: This research is an experimental study using a quasi-experimental design using the pre test-post test two group design method. This study aims to determine the differences in the effectiveness of zig-zag running training with shuttle run training on agility in soccer players. The number of samples was 24 people using total sampling which were divided randomly into 2 groups, namely treatment group 1 which was given zig-zag running training, as many as 12 people and treatment group 2 which was given shuttle run training as many as 12 people using the Illinois agility run test measurement .Results: Based on the analysis of the Wilcoxon Test, it shows that zig-zag running practice can produce significant agility changes with an average increase of 1.14 seconds and p value = 0.002 (p <0.05), while shuttle run training also produces changes in agility which is significant with an average increase of 0.50 seconds and a value of p = 0.002 (p <0.05). Based on the analysis of the Mann-Whitney test, it was found that there was a significant difference in effectiveness between the zig-zag running exercise and the shuttle run with a value of p = 0.001 (p <0.05), seen from the mean value indicating that the zig-zag running exercise was more effective than the shuttle run practice.Conclusion: The zig-zag running exercise is more effective than the shuttle run exercise on the agility of football players at the Makassar Kebatakan Sports High School.Keywords : Zig-Zag run, Shuttle run, illinois agility run test, agility

BEDA PENGARUH ECCENTRIC EXERCISE DAN PASSIVE STRETCHING PADA PENERAPAN ULTRASOUND TERHADAP PENURUNAN NYERI PENDERITA TENNIS ELBOW TIPE II DI KAMPUS JURUSAN FISIOTERAPI POLTEKKES MAKASSAR

Background : Tennis Elbow is a complaint of pain in the forearm which usually radiates to the dorsum of the hand due to inflammation or non-specific degeneration of the extensor carpi radialis brevis (ECRB) muscle in the lateral epicondyle of the humerus. It is diagnosed clinically by the sensation of pain and tenderness over the lateral epicondyle of the humerus which is aggravated during dorsiflexion of the restricted wrist.Methods: This type of research is a quasi experiment with a ramdomized pre test-post test two group design. This study consisted of 2 sample groups, namely treatment group 1 which was given Eccentric Exercise and Ultrasound interventions and treatment group 2 which was given Passive Streaching and Ultrasound interventions. The sample of this study were students of the Makassar Health Ministry Polytechnic majoring in Physiotherapy who suffered from Type II Tennis Elbow with inclusion and exclusion criteria in sampling.Results: the mean value of tennis elbow in the First Treatment group (Ultrasound and Eccentric Exercise) is the value of P = 0.012 <0.05 where the pre test is 6.650 ± 1.046 and the post test is 4.150 ± 0.594 with an average difference of 4.49 ± 1.035 which means there is an increase the average Tennis Elbow is 4.49 after intervention (Ultrasound and Eccentric Exercise). The mean value of the Tennis Elbow pre test in the Treatment Two group (Ultrasound and Passive Stretching) had a value of P = 0.022 <0.05 and the pre test value was 4.180 ± 0.925 and the post test was 2.490 ± 1.080 with an average difference of 2.69 ± 1.178, which means that there was an average increase in Tennis Elbow by 2.69 after the intervention (Ultrasound and Passive Stretching). The results of the Mann-Withney test were p <0.05 which means that there was a significant difference in the mean between the first treatment group (Ultrasound and Eccentric Exercise) and the second treatment group (Ultrasound and Passive Stretching). This shows that Ultrasound and Eccentric Exercise are significantly more effective than Ultrasound and Passive Stretching in reducing VAS in Type II Tennis Elbow sufferers.Conclusion: Ultrasound Intervention and Eccentric Exercise have a more significant effect than Ultrasound and Passive Stretching on Reducing Pain in Patients with Type II Tennis Elbow.Keywords: Ultrasound, Eccentric Exercise, Passive Streaching, Type II Tennis Elbow.

BEDA PENGARUH ANTARA PEMBERIAN CONTRACT RELAX DENGAN HOLD RELAX TERHADAP PENINGKATAN FLEKSIBILITAS OTOT HAMSTRING PADA ATLET SMAN 18 MAKASSAR

Background: Flexibility is the ability of a tissue or muscle to experience maximum lengthening so that the body can move with the full range of motion of the joints, without the onset of pain. Decreased hamstring flexibility can be caused by several factors, such as shortening of the hamstring muscles, acute or chronic injury to the hamstring muscles, decreased hip joint, excessive activity, and improper training patterns.Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental study using a two-group pre-test and post-test design. The aim was to determine the different effects of the Contract Relax intervention compared to the Hold Relax on increasing the flexibility of the Hamstring muscles. This research was conducted at SMA N 18 Makassar, with the sample being students who fit the inclusion criteria. The number of samples was 20 people who were randomly divided into 2 groups, namely the treatment group I who were given Contract Relax as many as 10 people and the treatment group II who were given Hold Relax as many as 10 people.Results: Based on the analysis of the paired sample t-test in the treatment group I obtained a p value <0.05 with pre and post test results of 0.00 for the Sit and Reach value which means that Contract Relax can result in a significant increase in Hamstring muscle flexibility. While the treatment group II also obtained a p value <0.05 with pre and post test results of 0.00 for the Sit and Reach value which means that holding Relax can result in a significant increase in Hamstring muscle flexibility. Then based on the Independent sample t-test, a p value <0.05 was obtained for the Sit and Reach value, which means that Hold Relax is significantly more effective than Contract Relax for increasing hamstring muscle flexibility.Conclusion : Hold Relax is better than Contract Relax in increasing the flexibility of the Hamstring musclesKeywords: Contract Relax, Hold Relax, Hamstring Flexibility
