Information Technology Capability, Supply Chain Practices and Leagility: A Systematic Literature Review

To cope with the unpredictabilities of the ever-changing modern business environment, businesses need strategies that help them maintain efficiency and flexibility. Leagility, an amalgam of “lean” and “agile”, enables them to integrate both advantages. Lean strategy improves efficiency by minimizing waste and costs, while agile strategy allows businesses to rapidly adapt to market trends. Despite its importance for businesses, leagility has received little attention in the literature. Moreover, research on the relationship between IT capability, supply chain practices and leagility, is limited. This systematic literature review addresses these concerns. Based on an analysis of 30 related articles, this study finds increasing interest in the topic, but notably in China, India and the US, with fewer studies from other developing countries. Moreover, most leagility studies are quantitative. These findings challenge previous studies claiming that a majority of the studies are qualitative. Additionally, a sound majority of leagility studies relate to the manufacturing sector, which questions other studies expressing the need for more research on this sector. Further conclusions from the present study indicate that efficiency, effectiveness, responsiveness, and flexibility are the most important dimensions of leagility for successful supply chain performance. Also, leagility requires IT capability, comprising especially IT infrastructure, IT human resources, and IT integration. Also, to help businesses adjust swiftly to market changes, while being efficient, information sharing, information quality, strategic supplier partnership, and postponement, are essential to leagile supply chain practices. This study suggests the need for further research in understudied locations on leagility, IT capability, and supply chain practices, using qualitative and mixed-method approaches to fully comprehend the issue. Studying how emerging technologies and global crisis influence these interactions may also help in developing more robust, flexible and successful supply chain strategies.

The Impact of The Financial Culture of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Budgetary Bodies on Financial Planning

Objective : Formulating my objectives: an analysis of the elements of financial culture and their impact on economic actors, based on the literature on the subject. To explore the existence and the role of financial culture in the life of domestic small and medium-sized enterprises and public sector organisations. To examine the existence and the consequences of inadequately thought-out, often ad hoc, formulated and applied corporate financial planning. Furthermore, the study explores how integrating circular economy principles can enhance financial culture and planning processes by promoting resource efficiency and sustainability. Theoretical Framework: Following the literature review, I formulated my hypotheses in close connection with the objectives. H1: The combined effect of the elements of financial culture determines the financial culture of an organisation. H2:Poorly considered financial decisions, lack of financial planning implies a lower financial culture. Method: For my thesis I used both secondary and primary research methods. During the secondary research, I tried to use studies, scientific articles, surveys of research institutions, national and international statistics, reports and data from governmental websites, surveys of universities and educational institutions, or parts of them, related to my own topic. The hypotheses were formulated through a review and in-depth study of the literature on the subject. Taking into account the results of the literature research, by comparing the findings of the different studies and on the basis of additional information obtained during the analysis of the interviews, the hypotheses formulated were answered, accepted or rejected. For my secondary research I used relevant databases (KSH, OECD,) and the Collection of Legislation in force for the cited legal sources. Among the journals I used the Financial Review published by Corvinus University of Budapest and the Economic Review, a journal of the Committee of Economic Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. From the research data of the literature consulted and interpreted during the secondary research, I present the figures relevant to my thesis with the help of figures I have edited myself and adopted. Evaluation of results: In my thesis, I examined the topic of financial culture and the impact of the presence and nature of financial culture, including the issue of financial planning in relation to budgetary organizations and enterprises (SMEs). First of all, I have to say that the area I have chosen to study is very diverse and complex, but also very interesting. In our study of the literature and research material, I had to take care to look for answers and formulate possible correlations by focusing on the questions and hypotheses formulated in my thesis.

Self-Regulated Learning Mediates the Impact of Word-Problem-Solving Teaching Instruction in Intrinsically Motivated Students: A Moderated Mediation Analysis

Mathematical word problem-solving ability is important for academic success and future career opportunities. While teaching approaches focusing on word problem-solving have shown promise, the mechanisms driving their effectiveness, particularly the roles of self-regulated learning (SRL) and motivation, remain unclear. This study investigates the moderated mediation effects of motivation on word problem-solving abilities through SRL. A quasi-experimental study was conducted with 123 eighth-grade Indonesian students, divided into four classes. Two classes received word problem-solving instruction, while the others followed standard problem-solving instruction. Students' problem-solving abilities, SRL, and motivation were assessed before and after the intervention. Using the PROCESS Macro, we evaluated simple and moderated mediation effects. The findings revealed that the word problem-solving intervention significantly enhanced SRL, which in turn improved problem-solving abilities, particularly among intrinsically motivated students. This effect was not observed in extrinsically motivated students. This study provides a novel exploration of SRL as a mediator and motivation as a moderator in educational interventions, offering a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms underlying successful problem-solving. It provides valuable insights for educational practitioners, emphasizing the importance of SRL and intrinsic motivation in promoting effective and equitable problem-solving skills.

The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Enhancing Creative and Financial Performance in the Creative Sector

This research aims to investigate how Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration enhances creative productivity and leads to improved outcomes in financial performance. The advancement of technology enables the improvement of knowledge sharing, absorptive capacity, skills, and innovation, fostering greater efficiency in achieving organizational goals. This pioneering research develops a holistic framework that integrates AI as a moderating factor, highlighting its transformative role in achieving a competitive advantage. A sample of 499 MSMEs in the Indonesian creative sector was obtained from a total of 34,000 HIPMI members through purposive and judgment sampling methods. Using the scrutinize method, this study provides an in-depth analysis of the interactions between technological advancements and organizational capabilities, offering strategic insights for sustainable growth. Regression analysis results indicate that knowledge sharing, absorptive capacity, skills, and innovation have a significant and positive effect on the creative performance. AI also has a significant positive impact on financial performance. The integration of AI strengthens the association between innovation and creative performance, but it does not reveal a substantial impact on the link of knowledge sharing, absorptive capacity, and skills with creative performance. This study provides theoretical and practical contributions to support decision-making in technology policy in the creative sector.

Next-Gen Teacher Growth: Exploring Online Professional Development

The current study explores perceptions and effectiveness of online professional development (OPD) opportunities at higher education institution, thus closing a substantial gap in current literature about the OPD preferences among English as a second language (ESL) lecturers. Professional development is a cornerstone approach to enhancing teacher competence and has gradually moved from traditional face-to-face sessions to online platforms particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although vast research is available on teacher professional development in Malaysia, study into the experiences of language lecturers at higher education institutions with OPD remains scant. This qualitative study which involved seven lecturers from a private university utilized semi-structured interviews to obtain fuller narratives of their perceptions of OPD. In general, findings indicated that although most lecturers had little experience of online professional learning, they held a positive attitude to the possible benefits it could offer. Further analysis identified four major themes for discussion, namely the relevance and effectiveness of OPD, the role of facilitators in enhancing OPD outcomes, the importance of classroom engagement and interaction, as well as professional development effectiveness and growth through OPD. The findings from the study highlighted the usefulness, trials, and room for improvement within OPD programs and suggests that future initiatives should be specifically tailored to consider the ever-evolving needs of diverse groups of teachers in order to maximize the effectiveness of any professional development initiative.
