Two new species of Myrtaceae, Eugenia saparensis and Plinia oblongifolia, from the remote Sápara territory in the Amazonian province of Pastaza in Ecuador are <br/>described and illustrated. A distribution map is provided, their morphological relationships to the putative closest species in these genera are discussed and a preliminary conservation status of Data Deficient (DD) is assigned for each species.
