New regioselective reaction of 1-alkyl-5-hydroxy-4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazol-2(5H)-one with alkylureas gives predominantly 1,6-dialkyl-3a,6a-diphenylglycolurils along with minor quantities of the 1,4-isomers. In case of propyl homologues, co-crystal of 1,6/1,4-dipropyl glycolurils would precipitate. Based on the analysis of the crystal packing of the products, new type of supramolecular chains for 1,4-disubstituted glycolurils has been identified.

Metric-based representation learning showed good accuracy in identifying objects from one-dimensional spectroscopy data, robustness to small dataset size and the ability to change the data domain without fine-tuning.

The ruthenium-catalyzed reaction of 2-(het)aryl-1-methyl- perimidines with aryl bromides proceeds as regioselective CH ortho-arylation of the (het)aryl fragment, perimidine core acting as a directing group. The reaction is selective and tolerates to different functional groups in aryl bromide thus allowing further functionalization of the obtained products.

The impact of different electron transport layers (ETLs) based on fullerene derivatives, such as the well-known PC61BM and promising 3-pyridyl-substituted pyrrolidino[60]fullerene (PYF-30), on the electric field-induced degradation of inverted perovskite solar cells has been demonstrated. Devices assembled using PYF-30 and PC61BM deposited from deuterated chloroform exhibit significantly higher stability compared to PC61BM films deposited from chlorobenzene. The main reason for the decrease in the efficiency of the device during aging is the formation of pinhole-type defects in the ETL caused by the agglomeration of molecules of fullerene derivatives.

The calculation of the electronic structure of MdO2 was carried out using the fully relativistic method of discrete variation (RDV), a scheme of molecular orbitals (MO) was built and a histogram of the spectrum of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) was constructed in the range of electron binding energies (BE) 0–∼40 eV. It was discovered that the complex structure of the XPS spectrum of valence electrons is associated with the formation of the outer valence molecular orbitals (OVMO, BE from 0 to ∼15 eV) and of the inner valence molecular orbitals (IVMO, BE from ∼15 to ∼40 eV). The effective charge of Md in MdO2 calculated from the MO compositions was equal to +0.50 electrons. IVMO electrons were found to weaken the bond formed by OVMO in MdO2 by ∼34%.

To increase the therapeutic effectiveness of antioxidants (lipoic acid and glutathione) and improve their transport to target cells, various methods of modifying its substances are used. In this work, the synthesis of an amide derivative of lipoic acid and glutathione (GSH–LA) is performed, and GSH–LA nanodispersions based on Pluronic F68 are obtained. The most pronounced antioxidant and antiplatelet effects are exhibited by nanoparticles containing GSH–LA at the maximum tested concentration.

6-{[4-(Aziridin-1-yl)-6-chloro-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl]amino}-hexanoic acid methyl ester and sodium salt were synthesized from cyanuric chloride. The sodium salt would interact with free radicals of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and inhibit hemolysis induced by Radachlorin. Both compounds interact with DNA with Kbin values of 1.09 × 107 and 0.99 × 107 dm3 mol−1, respectively; they also demonstrate cytotoxic activity against human cancer cell lines.

Density functional theory calculations at the level of B3LYP/6-311+G(df,p) and wB97XD/6-311+G(df,p) predict stability of the BeO analogues of annulated cyclooctatetraene and cyclodecapentaene, BenOnHn (n = 8, 10), which uniquely feature the presence of multiple hypervalent diagonal O∙∙∙O interactions within the four-membered rings.

A novel material based on europium and terbium complexes with a bispidine-substituted benzoate anion for luminescent thermometry in the physiological temperature range was obtained. The obtained complexes demonstrated intense visible luminescence with quantum yields up to 75%, high water solubility, and high luminescence sensitivity toward temperature (Sr = 2.1% K–1).

Formation of metallic nickel nanoparticles was observed during nickel catalyst activation in hydrogen flow at high temperature. The scale of change in catalyst morphology was determined via identical location electron microscopy.
