Abstract
The application of ZIFT in the general IVF population has gradually declined worldwide over the years. A meta-analysis of randomized, controlled trials found no difference in pregnancy and implantation rates between women undergoing ZIFT and IVF-ET {Habana and Palter; Fertil Steril 2001}. For the last ten years, the therapeutic approach at our institution has been to offer IVF with ZIFT to patients with repeated implantation failure (RIF), whenever permitted by tubal status.
