Abstract

Author Jenny Mader teaches at a school belonging to a forensic psychiatry unit. She tells us how she applies the attitude and method of Theme-Centered Interaction to her practical work. Following a description of the special GLOBE in an involuntary treatment facility, she shows which aspects of TCI can enhance own responsibility and social competence in her opinion. In particular she looks at the limits and opportunities of applying TCI in this setting, which is characterized by rules and restrictions. In conclusion, and by way of example, she describes two projects for which elements of TCI were applied during the planning and implementation phases and reports on her experience.
