Abstract
In this paper, a comprehensive analysis of ZVS operation range and deadband conditions of a dual H-bridge bidirectional DC-DC converter with phase shift control is presented. The operational principles and the equivalent circuits considering the effect of ZVS capacitor and the deadband on the soft switching operation range of DAB converter are discussed. Based on the solution of the differential equation of the circuit during the deadband, the sufficient constraints of the input and output bridge for software switching are calculated. The results show that, the minimum value of the phase shift needed to achieve ZVS decreases with increase in the output voltage. Increasing the value of phase shift will also increase the ZVS range and reduces switching losses. The simulation results have been provided under various operating conditions, which confirms the theoretical analysis of the proposed system. The result also showed the circuit behavior during the deadband, and the waveforms are obtained. Finally, theoretical considerations and simulation results for different operating stages are verified by MATLAB/ SIMULINK.
