Abstract

It is shown that the rate of photosynthesis of Chlorella pyrenoidosa Chick, is partially inhibited by Diamox which has, however, no influence on the isotopic composition of the photosynthetic oxygen if H2 18O, C16O2 and HC16O3′ are used as substrates. No inhibition of the exchange between H2O and CO2 on the surface om maize leaves could be observed if the leaves were exposed to a Diamox solution.
