Abstract

Ni(cdt) reacts with LiH 2Al iBu 2 and LiAlH 4 in ether or ether/tmeda below −50°C to yield the thermolabile addition compounds [Li(tmeda) 2] +[ iBu 2Al(μ-H) 2Ni(cdt) 2] · 2Et 2O, (Et 2O) 2(LiAlH 4)Ni(cdt), and [Li(tmeda) 2] +[(AlH 4)Ni(cdt)] −. From 1H NMR spectra it can be concluded that the complexes undergo exchange processes in solution.
