Abstract
Solid solutions in the system Cu x In y Cr 2Se 4 were obtained from the elements by the ceramic method at 800°C. They were examined by X-ray diffraction. The changes in the values of the lattice constants (CuCr 2Se 4, a = 10.335 A ̊ ; Cu 0.2In 0.8Cr 2Se 4, a = 10.716 A ̊ ) in samples with the compositions Cu x In 0.33(2- x) Cr 2Se 4, Cu x In 0.67(1- x) Cr 2Se 4 and Cu x In (1- x) Cr 2Se 4 respectively are discussed as well as the influence of the indium amount on the variation in the copper valence in CuCr 2Se 4.
