Abstract

The genesis of the vertebral body pseudocleft is examined in an autoptic cervical vertebral column. After dissecting the two uncinate processes of the vertebra, this pseudocleft is no longer demonstrable; hence, it is definitely due to the deformed uncinate processes. The clinical importance of the deformed uncinate processes (known as uncovertebral osteoarthrosis) is discussed and illustrated by means of case examples including examinations via computerized tomography.
