Abstract

The article describes a rare coincidence of an apophyseolysis of the greater trochanter with a febrile infection in a 10-year-old child engaged in sports activities. As a result of intensive cooperation between internistic and orthopaedic rheumatologists in connection with inevitable and expensive laboratory and medico-technical investigations, acute (rheumatic fever) or chronic (juvenile arthritis) rheumatic joint disease could be excluded.
