Abstract

The intelligent utilization and attractive design of space are key preconditions for developing Switzerland as a favored European location. This requires effective spatial development and trained specialists. This article provides an overview of cantonal planning centers in Switzerland, examines their instruction and training requirements in the field of spatial planning and draws conclusions about required training methods and curricula. The author concludes that project-oriented education and the introduction of a modular education system with a bachelor's and master's degree is a step forward. Studying specific themes in groups to promote teamwork has also proven its worth.
