Abstract

ZSM-39 has been prepared in hydrothermal systems incorporating 2-aminopropane, 2-amino-2-methyl propane or pyrrolidine. Calcined, C-free ZSM-39 will not sorb small molecules such as H 2O at room temperature, but will do so at elevated temperatures and pressures. The maximum Al content of ZSM-39 appears to be limited to about 0.2 percent, and none of the ion-exchange or catalytic properties typical of zeolites have been observed.
