ZP2 peptide beads that select human sperm in vitro, decoy mouse sperm in vivo, and provide reversible contraception

Abstract

Human and mouse sperm bind, respectively, to recombinant human ZP239-154 and mouse ZP235-149 peptides attached to agarose beads. We sought to determine whether the huZP2 peptide-beads could select human sperm for assisted reproductive technologies and whether the moZP2 peptide-beads could decoy sperm in the uterus and provide reversible contraception in mice.
