Abstract
This work discusses lithological–stratigraphic peculiarities of Mesozoic–Cenozoic rocks exposed in the Sulak River basin and drilled by the Kuban superdeep borehole with description of the geotectonic features of the eastern Ciscaucasian and Azov–Kuban elision basins. Catagenetic alterations of sedimentary sequences from these regions are analyzed and the general scheme of catagenetic zoning in elision basins is proposed.
