Abstract

The Zn1−xMnxO (x<0.15) semimagnetic semiconductor single crystals prepared by chemical vapor transport and films deposited by pulsed laser ablation and rf magnetron sputtering methods have been studied. Additional contribution of Mn ions in absorption spectrum of single crystals and films of the Zn0.9Mn0.1O has been revealed and its origin is discussed. Magnetic susceptibility as a function of temperature for ceramic samples demonstrates Curie–Weiss behavior. The observed negative sign of Faraday rotation angle, its temperature and magnetic field dependences give confirmation of paramagnetic behavior in Zn1−xMnxO semimagnetic semiconductor.
