Abstract

In my article, I present some key issues from descriptive ethics. I refer to these issues which can influence concepts in philosophical ethics. Therefore, I begin with the psychology of morality, concerning discoveries in social psychology, neuropsychology, psychopathology, and the psychology of human development, and evolutionary psychology. I choose these experiments that show the importance of emotions, intuition and unconscious, automatic reasoning in making moral decisions. Finally, I prove the meaning of empirical discoveries for philosophical ethics.
