Abstract

Summary Modified Endoscopic Lothrop Procedure (MELP) has been proven to be effective in treatment of different pathologies of the frontal sinus. Authors present two cases of patients with frontal sinus mucocele presenting as a late complication of frontal region injury. One of the patients underwent reconstruction of the frontal region after head injury 25 years before the presentation of mucocele. In the second case mucopyocele developed 10 years after major head injury. Both patients were successfully treated with MELP, although restenosis of the created ostium was observed. Surgery of frontal sinus several years after frontal region injury can be challenging due to distorted anatomy and presence of bony scar tissue. Technical aspects of the procedure in the specific group of patients are discussed.
