Abstract

Abstract A new grass species from Brazil, Zizaniopsis longhi-wagnerae, is herein described, illustrated and compared with putative related species. The new species grows in swampy areas of montane grasslands of the southern plateau of Santa Catarina State, Brazil, and is thought to be endemic to this region. Comments about habitat, morphology, distribution, conservation status, and an updated key to the genus are presented.
