Abstract

A zirconium-based nano metal–organic framework (NMOF) UiO-67-NH2 was prepared solvothermally using shape modifier triethylamine. Its loading capacity for topoisomerase inhibitor compound camptothecin (CPT) was investigated. The structure and CPT loading properties of UiO-67-NH2 were assessed with the help of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The XRD and SEM results indicated the successful synthesis of the nano-sized UiO-67-NH2. Further, FTIR spectroscopy indicated that UiO-67-NH2 could be loaded with CPT. Also, the HPLC experiments revealed that nano-sized UiO-67-NH2 shows high CPT loading capacity of up to 36.53 wt%.
