Abstract
Self-injurious behavior (SIB) is a common and increasing problem (Klonsky, 2003, Muehlenkamp, 2004), especially in the subgroup of adolescent females (Hawton, 2003). Data about the pharmacological treatment of SIB in adolescent patients is limited (Hawton, 1998). As the causes which result in SIB often have their roots in a traumatic history, anxiety is an important issue to be considered in the treatment.
